FIRE MIKE MCDANIEL! Instant Reaction To Dolphins vs. Colts NFL Week 1
[Music] The Miami Dolphins just had the worst week one performance that I can remember from this franchise in my life of watching NFL football. This is Dolphins today. I am Nick Roloff. It was just embarrassing from start to finish as Indianapolis mops Miami at home to get a 33 and8 win. It is the first time since 2013 that the Indianapolis Colts won their opening game. It snaps Tua’s 4-0 streak of being undefeated in the first game of the year as a starter and it ends Mike McDaniel’s three-year streak of winning the first game of the season. There is a lot to take away here. A lot of injury news that we’ll get to on the back end of today’s video. We’ll also probably talk about it in the couple videos to come. Um, but we got to start with how bad the quarterback play was from Tua Tongue of Aloa. And we’ll probably talk about Mike McDaniel right after this. Coupe Tua was atrocious today. Bad. And I can’t blame the offensive line completely. Did Tua get rocked from his blind side one time? Yes. Did he get sacked a couple other times? Absolutely. But if you watch this game and blame the offensive line, I will just strongly disagree with that sentiment. Tua was bad. He put the ball in harm’s way. He was holding the football like a meatloaf on a pressure where he fumbled it on the Dolphins second possession of the game. And then on the first possession of the game after the Dolphins gave a field goal, Miami’s driving looking pretty good actually. Have it in the Colts territory. And then on a third and eight, third and nine has Tyreek Hill on an inb breakaker right in the middle of the field open about 18 yards down the field in the middle of a zone. sails it way over his head. Intercepted and then later, was it the third quarter? Cope. Yeah. Tu was rolling out to the right. Um had all the time in the world. I think he had a crosser open. He could have picked up the first down or even scrambled for it maybe. Instead tries to find Malik Washington coming on a inb breakaker on the backside. Didn’t seeatu the former first round pick out of UCLA. Intercepted. Threw it right to him like he like he was like a curl route to him. I mean, Tulle was absolutely abysmal today. And this is the first year of his $53 million extension on an annual average value he signed last off season. And I’ll tell you what, if this QB play continues, it might be his last. Like, I don’t want to get too overreactionary here, but that was as bad as a game I’ve seen to a play in a very, very long time. Let’s shift over to the head coach now because this guy’s an absolute joke. I said it following last season that I would have fired Mike McDaniel. You can go back and watch the clips after the eight and n season. I get it. First losing season, first time he didn’t miss the playoff or make the playoffs. I would have fired McDaniel. I would have fired Greer. I said that back in January. You can go back and watch the tape if you don’t believe me. But the same issues come up time after time after time with Mike McDaniel. One of them is that he never has his team ready to play. I don’t know how it is possible, but McDaniel had the Dolphins flat as can be in week one of the NFL. How is that possible? They came out not ready to play defensively. The offense was terrible. And that’s him. That’s the offense is him. That is as bad as it gets. More on Mike McDaniel coming up in just one second. But should the Dolphins fire Mike McDaniel right now? Should they do it? I know it’s super overreactionary to do it after week one, but that was embarrassing. And when his seat was already warm, you have to have the conversation pin comment on today’s show. Why for yes, N for no. Back to McDaniel. And and it’s such a little part of it cuz it wouldn’t have any impact on the actual game, but it just goes back to the incompetencies that Mike McDaniel shows at times. Fourth quarter, Dolphins still losing 30 nothing. Tua throws a great ball to Tyreek Hill deep down the sideline. Tua puts on the dot. It’s totapped by Tyreek Hill at the six and they call incomplete. They show the replay and it looks like he caught it and had possession with this two feet inbounds and Mike McDaniel doesn’t challenge the play. It’s like it’s trivial. It would have had no impact on the outcome, but it just goes back to doing the little things right so we can in meaningful moments have better outcomes. He doesn’t challenge it. And yes, the next play, Devon Achan rattles off a 26-yd run to actually the same exact spot that Tyrie caught the ball in. But it goes back to the principles. You practice the right way, so you play the right way. And sadly, that is something that just never happens for my Miami and Mike McDaniel. It is always bad procedurally as well as play calling at times. It just is bad across the board. And if I’m gonna be honest, Mike McDaniel is not very long for this job. I tweeted it in the first quarter, he will not be coaching this football team next year because if this team is the team that we’re going to see all year, it’s a five, six, or seven win team in all likelihood, which means he’s gone and rightfully so. More thoughts, especially on the defense coming up here in a second. But listen, I wanted the Dolphins of Fire McDaniel and it feels like that would have been the right decision back in January and February. You can make right decisions on prize picks and get paid for it where it’s good to be right. It’s so simple to play. All you do is pick more or less on two to six player stat projections. If you get your picks right, you could cash in price picks and vend the flex play, which means you could still cash out of your lineup if it isn’t perfect. double your money even if one isn’t right. I had entry in for week one. I went two for four. Warren was right. Um Malik Washington just came a bit short. Chop didn’t have a sack. We’ll get to the defense here in a second. Trust me. And Lamar, well that one is going to happen later if you’re watching this before the Sunday night game. Either way, get started with Prize Picks. Download the app today. Use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Links in description and comments of today’s video. Price picks. It’s good to be right. All right, as we get back to this team, I want to go to the defense now. I I I really don’t want to talk about the offense that much. We’ll talk about some of the offensive players with injuries at the end of today’s show, but I want to focus on the defense here because the nightmare scenario for Miami absolutely came true. And what was the nightmare scenario? It was this secondary. And we said all offseason long that this secondary is going to be its weakest point of the roster. And if the Dolphins have a very bad year, it is likely going to be because the defense can’t stop a nosebleleed in the secondary. The way that you were going to try to combat that is by having your pass rush be amongst the top of the National Football League. A secondyear bump from Chop Robinson, Jaylen Phillips and Bradley Chub back. You signed Matthew Judon late in July or August, excuse me, and then one of the best pass rushing defensive tackles, Zack Cer. Well, these five did absolutely nothing today. And I’ll have to go back and watch some of the film, see how things were charted out. But Chop Robinson did nothing in this game. I don’t remember saying his name once when it comes to making a play. I could say the same thing with Jaylen Phillips. Zack Cer, I don’t remember calling his name on anything positive. The only time I called Matthew Judon’s name was on the first drive when he lit up Daniel Jones on third down. And then late in the second quarter when he was trailing 17 nothing, he roughs the punter or runs into the punter, giving the Colts a free first down, which ultimately gave them the ability to go up 20 nothing into the half and not give the Dolphins offense a chance to respond and double up. Bradley Chub was the only player that made a play. He had a sack in that first quarter. But if you’re going to only get one sack a game from these five, your defense stands absolutely no chance. And and I really mean that. Absolutely no chance to win if these five aren’t generally getting pressure every single time. And I wouldn’t say every single time, but majority of the time. They have to dominate. They have to control the line of scrimmage. And they just did not do it whatsoever. and it left this um secondary on an absolute island. It was brutal from the secondary man. Whether it’s Jack Jones at corner, whether it was Storm Duck early in the game, whether it was RTO Douglas coming in later or the safety room, I mean, Daniel Jones lit you up. Do we have Daniel Jones stats? I’d love to flash this on screen because it’s just an absolute embarrassing joke. Daniel Jones went 22 of 29 for 272 yards and a touchdown, but also added two touchdowns on the ground as a runner. That is unbelievable. I thought you had the better quarterback in this game and at least today you did not have the better quarterback. Not even close. He cooked you, man. And the fact that he did is actually really really embarrassing and it scares me the future if Daniel Jones and the Colts are able to do that against you today. What is Josh Allen going to do to you in a couple weeks? It’s not good. You had no answer for Tyler Warren. Same old same old last year where this team couldn’t stop a tight end. They were the worst team in the NFL defending tight ends last year. And it’s probably the same thing again this year if that continues. So just not good about that, man. Not happy whatsoever. Um, before we get to some injury news, make sure you do subscribe to the channel because even though the Dolphins look like we are still going to be here. We’re going to have a video go out later tonight. Uh, we’ll have a video out early tomorrow morning and we’ll be live tomorrow morning as well on the channel. So, subscribe, join us for that. It’s going to be a very interesting uh week here as we get ready for NFL week two. All right, there’s a bunch of injuries that we got to discuss. We’ll start with Storm Duck, the cornerback one for this football team. He left the game in the first quarter um or first half I should say with an ankle injury. Got rolled up pretty bad. Uh we’ll see what the severity is there for Storm Duck. But he was so bad to start the game anyway. He did not look like an NFL corner. And even if he is fully healthy, ready to go next week, which I doubt is the case, your starting corners next week should be Rul Douglas and Jack Jones. Um that’s just the truth. Stormduck was so bad. I would not start him next week. Just can’t start him. Um, James Daniels, your starting right guard, who got signed three-year $24 million deal this off seasonason, left the game in the first quarter with a pec injury. And that’s scary because I don’t want to be um doom and gloom, but if that’s a torn pec, he’s out for the year. So, you got to hope it’s just a strain or something like that because like I mentioned, if that is a torn pec, that is going to be out for the year. James Daniels. Keon Smith was the player that filled in for the Dolphins at right guard for the rest of that game. I’d have to see how he played, but I don’t remember getting upset at Keon Smith. So, he honestly probably performed relatively fine in relief for James Daniels. Other injury news to know, um Austin Jackson left the game in the fourth quarter with a toe injury. That was the same, I think, injury that made him miss a bit of time for the training camp in preseason in August. Uh, I’m trying to think, is there another injury? I feel like I’m missing one. Wadd. Yeah, Wadd left the game for a second. Uh, looked like he hurt his arm, but he came back, so I’m assuming he’s fine there. D. Escridge was banged up, but he came back as well, so fine. Just I’m just thinking out loud here. Sorry, folks. This is an instant reaction video for a reason. uh Bonito Jones left the game with an oblique injury that uh he did not come back in the fourth quarter for that. So that’s another injury and then I’m trying to think one more no safeties, no corners, no more other play. So that’s going to be the end of um the injury list there. But we’ll have more updates on those injuries um in the next 48 hours. So make sure you subscribe, be there, and uh I’ll see you later with another video. Um absolutely abysmal. You could grade the performance for the Dolphins in week one. It’s without a shadow of a doubt an F. If I could give it worse, I would and I wish I could, but it’ll be an F. That’ll do it for this episode of Dolphins Today. Like I said, I’ll see you later tomorrow or or later today and tomorrow with a pair of videos and a live show. So, subscribe. See you then. What an embarrassing performance from the Miami Dolphins. Just absolutely abysmal. Peace out. [Music]

Duck got burned so bad so often he quit.
Stop saying “tape”. You guys don’t record on tape.
Until we fire GEIER AND COACH WE WILL NEXT BE A GOOD TEAM PERIOD
MARINO CAN BE GM SCOUTS PICK PLAYER TO DRAFT GM PULLS TRIGGER AND JON GRUDEN CAN COACH THIS TEAM
Time to rebuild and hit reset. I was wondering why nobody talking about the fins… now I know why
"YES"
Fire Mike.
Hire Gruden !!!!!
He’s more worried about being the cool guy instead being a football coach.
I agree with every single word you said!! Every one! This is the same ol' same ol'. How much more do we need to see!?
That "non-challenge" was telling about Mike McDaniel. He is NOT an NFL head coach. Horrible non-decision. It didn't matter at that point in the game, which is EXACTLY why he should've challenged it.
I agree Nick
Miami media, still wanna cry about how the Bears were “too physical” in the little joint practice or do you think maybe you should man up and play football?
The problem is Tia Turndaballover… This league has evolved… A pocket spot scripted or system QB is not winning shit in this league nowadays… Look at Josh Allen Lamar Jackson Jayden Daniels they are equally elite passing scrambling and improvising rather than a one trick pony like tua Turndaballover is… Smfh it's like we have a donkey in a stallion race 😂
The whole coaching staff should be fired. Only person on the team that doesn’t get an F is our kicker.
If that’s what we get after having all off season to prepare for the Colts, what will we get with one week for the Pats?
Tua should be completely embarrassed of his performance. That’s what a 53 million dollar a year QB looks like now in warm weather or in a dome ? What happens when it gets cold? The strength and conditioning coaches have to go as well. 5-6 injuries a week is downright stupid. I’m tired of this team sucking the life out of me every year .
If they do not go at least 2-3 in their first five games, then they should fire McDaniel. They should have fired Grier a long time ago
Austin Jackson = new Terron Armstead ,Jackson is WAY to injury prone so of course they extended his contract, Tua sub par ..extended contract, how many players contracts did they extend where the players have basically disappeared?! Darren Waller…should be released IMMEDIATELY! And return any money he’s taken from this team. These players CLEARLY don’t take care of themselves in the offseason!
I think the fins are in disarray. Tua throwing two picks and only 114 yards passing is pitiful.
Fire McDaniel. He should have been fired last year!
Yes fire
Train wreck.
Y
Oh my God this coaches got to go really not that good and that quarterback sucks he just cannot get the job done he he just isn't there man they should just play the damn rookie
They should of fire the three stooge's 2years ago ….Steven Ross doesn't care cuz that's not how he makes his money' this man is into realastate the problem starts with him ..and then the three stooge's i'am tired of this abuse agains the fans😤😡
We've got the Patriots and Bills next, could easily be 0-3 after that. Heads will roll, rebuild is back on the menu boys.
Both McDaniel and Greir need to be fired! Same issues once again!
FFFFFFFF!!!!!
Like most Dolphins Fans ENOUGH IS ENOUGH… I have had way more than enough of the Quest for mediocrity taking place with the DOLPHINS… McDaniel needs to go FIRE HIM NOW…he’s lost the locker room. He should not be doing the play calling. As far as Grier FIRE TOO ! He should have been gone years ago… he clearly hurts us more than he helps look at the history…WHY IS THIS EVEN A QUESTION ? What exactly that Mr. Ross doesn’t see as a problem here… Fans are really tired of this. Think about this the last Dolphins playoff victory was December 5, 2000, a wildcard win over the Colts.
Miami 23
Colts 17 Final
At home and Jay Fiedler was our QB.
That’s damn near 25 years… we’ve waited long enough !
Tia is the one that has to go,he is the one turning over the ball multiple times.neem doing that since he been the QB
Tua is the problem
They don't trust Tua throwing long passes, down by 30 points 4th Quarter never went long ,no urgency at all,not trust in his arm
he couldve at least been the coach who scored the most points in nfl history, but he cared too much about "class". now you'll be remembered for nothing.
i knew he was a giant pussy who'd never be able to control a locker room with authority after that.
We made Daniel Jones look like Steve young
