I'm typically a pretty cynical Stillers fan, but this site I found gives me a glimmer of hope for us and Calvin specifically. It breaks down snap counts and routes run in each game and there's no question Calvin was the #2 with DK. I liked him coming out of Memphis a couple years back, and if the o-line can keep Rodgers upright, I'm kinda feeling like Austin could break out. Am I being too hopeful?

  1. I don’t know with how much the ball got spread around it makes me think there’s not going to be a genuine 2 if we signed or traded for one.

  2. If you consider a breakout a solid big play guy who can get like 750 yards then sure I think we could still use a WR2

  3. A few days ago, we had a “I don’t want to ever hear another bad thing about Calvin Austin again” based of this week one performance, so I’d say this sub is fully expecting him to get a TD and 100 yards per game.

  4. Not that Pickens wasn’t WR1 talent, DK is an established true WR1. You are forced to use your CB1 on him at all times and if not he’s doubled in some capacity otherwise you see what he does in open space. Truly believe CAlll just needed someone who truly opens up the field and with another year with Smith as the OC I think he establishes himself as a true 2. He also compliments the brute force DK is on the other side, so you have your quickster in Calvin and your monster in Metcalf. A recipe for a productive WR duo

  5. I like the idea of not having a true WR2. Makes the plays harder to read and makes the game more exciting. Last week’s offense was so cool to watch.

  6. With Rogers as our QB, yes. I think he would have broken out sooner if we would have had a better QB.

  7. Rodgers is the key.

How many WR2 did the Packers have that never amounted to much after they left GB?

  8. To me it feels like CAIII has always been “there” but he hasn’t had a quarterback who could spread the ball and make quick decisions. A-a-Ron may have some diminished physical skills, but his mental acumen for the game is still there. The QB position is as much mental processing speed as it is physical skill. He can find the open man, and if he has the time to throw he’ll spread it around. We should see a pretty good split between receivers this year.

  9. if you produce, and dont lose the ball, tomlin will give you room to run. its ca3’s until he gives it up or roman wilson becomes undeniable

  10. I say we just stop talking about it a ms let it play out that way if he does then we can cheer and if it doesn’t well then it was never said

  11. No, but if he stays healthy how can he not have his best year so far with this QB at the helm?

  12. I think he will be a number 2 in certain packages but I think we have packages with Wilson(yes that Wilson) that we will turn to. I’m thinking more run heavy packages will utilize Wilson and later in the year he will be the featured number 2. But for warmer temperature and clear weather games I’d expect Austin to be the premier number 2 just my opinion on how this offense will work.

  13. I think after the first game teams are going to lock down DK. This will make every other receiver open. All they have to do is catch the ball. Rodgers is scanning the whole feild. So yah, as long as Calvin’s slipping under the radar and keeps good hands he’s going to be a super star. If he turns into brick hand Dionte Johnson then hes going to be a turd. He’s hasn’t shown any turdieness. Probable because he practiced catching footballs and not tennis ball like Dionte did.

  14. I’m a CA3 truther. I don’t think he can be prime tyreek hill or anything but I’ll take the tier below that.

  15. I’m going to wait until we are farther along in the season before I’d start thinking about calling it a breakout season.

  16. YES slyv star saw ❤️‍🔥💍❤️‍🩹🌟☝️1️⃣🍀💎🌎🐻😛💩💩😃😃😍

  17. I think it’s too early to call it. There are just too many targets outside of DK to make that call right now, and from what I remember from training camp, there are other schemes and targets that the team hasn’t run yet (like Darnell Washington goal line big boy plays). I would think that week 2 will bring clarity on this.

  18. It’s been 1 game. I hope Cal does breakout and he’s so fast you have to think he can get open and that Aaron will find him.

    But it’s too early.

My guess is, with the personnel we have, Artie has more ability than he’s had in a long time to scheme guys open. And Aaron is the kind of qb that will find the open guy.

What’s the site btw? It looks interesting from the screenshots.
