A team with this box score in the current scenario they’ve been gifted against the 2025 A’s does not belong in/deserve to be in the playoffs, don’t change my mind

It’s not even just this game either, it’s the constant hovering at .500, the weird decisions by Tito (I didn’t realize he was this archaic, still better than Bell but damn), it’s the inability to hit a home run like major league ballplayers, it’s the lack of fundamentals, it’s the inability to come back after going down a run or two, it’s the ownership not fixing all the holes, it’s the lack of desire from anyone to seem to light a fire (and if you do like Sal Stewart, you’re benched).

    What the fuck are we even doing here boys? Do you think anyone on this team says anything remotely like this in the clubhouse or is it just, “Damn we’ll get em tomorrow?” We need a fucking Shoresy on this team.

    WHO’S GONNA SET THE TONE? Definitely not the owners.

    PS – Our starting pitcher rotation is beautiful and has never done anything wrong in their lives (and TJ had a great game) but unfortunately for them, it’s a team sport.

  7. Yep. They simply don’t have the cattle, hitting wise. That has been evident all year. They have scored 2 runs or less in 35% of their games. Thank Christ for their starting pitching as they have carried the team to this point. But, let’s face it. They are one game over .500 and are chasing a team who has fallen off the ledge. SF will eventually secure the final playoff spot.

  13. Especially stings that the Mets lost yesterday and the reds well… they lost as well, all games are must win at this point. But I’m going to continue to hold some faith, but am full expecting to watch them get swept by the pirates in the end and that’ll shut the doors on any playoff hopes

  14. This team is just a .500 team, nothing more, nothing less. They rise to the occasion when playing decent teams. Then they go to Oakland and lay a complete goose egg against a middle tier pitcher.

  16. Here’s what I think happened, the Mets lost earlier in the night. They let up the gas because they thought the As would be an easy time to beat. We’ll right the ship.

  17. Don’t worry, they can’t win against the NL Central so the last two weeks of the season they’ll be 10 back by the end

  18. Really should have swept the A’s. They’re the worst remaining team on our schedule and we still have some tough teams. Hate to have pitching so well again and the bats just piss down their legs yet again. Need to win the next 2 or it’s over.

  24. Wife got me tickets to the game for my birthday, this is the only time I’ll see them in person this season. I told her in the 8th, if you can’t score against the As in a AAA park, you probably don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. What a shitshow. Hahaha, I’ll be watching from home where it’s less embarrassing tonight.
