Rockies vs. Padres Game Highlights (9/13/25) | MLB Highlights
Padres’s two and a half games back of the Dodgers with the Dodgers losing yesterday to the Giants in a walk-off. It’s going to be Dylan CE going for the Padres’s tonight. Had success against the Rockies last time out. What would you like to see him carry from that last start into this one, Mike? Well, I think he did a really good job exploiting a wild swinging Rockies lineup. This is a team with zero plate discipline. Tyler Freeman heading to home plate. 3-1 is hit pretty well to left center field. That’s going to get down. Merryill able to cut it off. Freeman thinking two, digging for second. He’s in there with a head first slide. Tyler Freeman leads off the night with his 18th double of the year. Freeman at second. And the pitch to Moniac sent in the air to left field. Not too deep at all. Lauraniano a little bit over towards the gap coming in. He’ll make the catch. Freeman will not try and tag an advance. One and one to Goodman. Long look back at Freeman. Now the pitch is on a line to left field. Lauraniano charges in, slides forward and makes the catch. Two down. Hard hit out number two in the top of the first inning. Beck was two for four last night. One of his hits was a bunt single. 02 pitch. Ground ball up the middle and into center field for a base hit. Freeman rounds third. He comes home to score. Jordan Beck with a two out, two strike RBI single. One to nothing Rockies. Well done for Jordan Beck. running on the pitch and in there safely is Beck with a stolen base and he goes after it. Struck him out on the sweeper. First strike down of the night for CE and one pitch, one out for Block here in the bottom of the first inning and we noted it at the start. Lillock had a tough tough goal against the Padres’s back in May at Forest Field. It’s here and Arise lines it into center field. The base hit says it in four straight and a one out knock here in the bottom of the first inning. Backto back walks and the Padres’s have the bases loaded. One out. Raone Moriano coming up. Lauraniano swings, muscles it in the air to center field. Not too deep. Moniaak coming in on the move. He’ll make the catch. Arise tagging on the way. Here’s the throw to the plate and he is safe. Lisa Rises does a really nice job of sliding to the back side of the plate. Barely getting his hand in in front of the foot of Goodman that was trying to block home plate, but he gets the hand in there safely. See if Dylan CE able to settle in a little bit here as Ezekiel Tobar leads off for Colorado. Tovar swings and misses strike three. That’s now backto back case for CE and it’s lined up towards center field. Jackson goes from right center to left center. Two down. 3-2 right down the middle. Strike three call. Third strike out of the night already for Dylan CE. One pitch, one out in the bottom half of inning number two. And Cronorth will be the batter. Line into right center. Big set for Croninorth. He may be thinking too, nope. Going to pull it up. A wise decision. A one out single for Cronorth. A rip for Chrome. Fernando Tatis Jr. coming up for the second time. Seventh pitch of this at bat. Fernando in the air to deep right center field. Moniac racing into the gap. He’s at the wall. It’s going to go. two-run homer. Fernando Tatis Jr. drove it out to the big part of the yard and a really nice atbat on pitch seven. He goes 414 to right center and the Padres’s go ahead. It’s three to one. I contend that this is the best version of Totty. Here’s Moniac with Freeman at second, one out and that is going to drop. Freeman had to make sure it cleared a rise. So he’ll stop at third. First and third, one out. And here comes the Rocky slugger Hunter Goodman. Dylan with a long pause at the bell. Now the pitch and Goodman takes right down the middle. Strike three called. Fourth of the night for Dylan Cece. One and one on Jordan Beck. The pitch swung on. Looped in the air to center field. Jackson Merrill coming in. He’s there and he makes the catch to end the inning. drew a walk and kind of helped move the line back in the first inning. One-two pitch hammered in the air. Feed to left center field is all the way back to watch this one going to go. Second home run of the night for the Pods and Manny has gone deep in back-to back games. Here comes that man. Five straight years for Machado now with at least 25 home runs. Good sign for Manny Machado and the Padres’s. Back-to-back nights with home runs, both on offspe pitches. Two down in the bottom of the third inning. Jackson Merrill coming up to center. Moniac going back onto the track. It’s gone. Jackson Merrell with his 12th home run of the year. Padres’s with their third of the ball game. Take a 5-1 lead. We’ve been talking about it for the last five or six ball games. Jesse Jackson Merrill really starting to come to life. Third home run in the last seven ball games. Dylan also now one strikeout away from 200 on the season. Three and two to Tobar. Dylan looks into Diaz. Gets the signal. Now CE steals and the payoff pitch swung on and missed. Strike three. 98 mph fast ball and strikeout number 200 on the season for Dylan Cease. Fifth consecutive 200k season for CE. And he joins this great group of starting pitchers. Max Scherzer, Justin Berlander, Chris Sale, Clayton Kershaw who have done it. Joins Jake Peavey 2005 through 2007 pod pitcher with consecutive 200k plus seasons. Base is loaded, one out for Manny. Manny is homered and walked here tonight. Here’s the two and one. Machado swings, grounds it through the left side. That’s a base hit. Diaz has scored. Fernando racing around third. No shot for Beck. The throw is cut. A two-run single for Machado. Already a huge night for Manny and the Padre lead is seven to one. Another nice plate appearance by Manny. Machado. Keep adding on Padres’s. Two on and two out in the bottom of the fourth inning. and Orianiano in his career against Senzotella. Five for 10 with a double lying to left and that is a fair ball. One hops the wall. Padres score two more and take a 9-1 lead. Raone Lauriano drives in a pair. How about another wrist hit for the Pods pummel this ball down that left field line. Now get 75 RBI. What the year Raone Lauraniano’s put together. Backto back ground ball outs for Case here in the fifth inning. Here’s the 2-2 taken right at the knees on the inside corner. Strike three called a one, two, three fifth for Dylan CE. Top of the eighth inning and the top of the order for Colorado. 91 is the Padre lead. This is going to drop. Third hit of the night for Freeman. So that’s five total bases tonight. Swinging a miss and Moniac strikes out the sweeper. Lots of sweep in that one. Second strike out for Kyle Hart. Swing and a miss. Romo strikes out. Back-to-back KS now for Hart. Three and all. Rockies with two men on for the first time since the fourth inning when they had two on and two out. Blaine Crim will bat again. One pitch is hit towards right center field. That’s going to find the alley. It’s going to go all the way to the wall. It’s going to score two runs. How about Blaine Crim? His second big league hit produces two RBI’s. He’s got two hits and five RBI’s as a Rocky. Padres’s leading nine to three. First appearance of the series for the switch hitting Bryce Johnson, a former Giant. Diaz at first one away. Freeman headed back at the wall. It is gone. Two-run home run for Bryce Johnson. 11 to three Padres. Let him know Bryce in the pitch. Not sure what happened here to Arise in between innings as he’s being attended to. I wonder if he got hit. No. Oh, he had his head down running onto the field with his head down. He is coming out of this game right now. Padres’s with an eight-run lead. Rockies down to their final out. Fly ball right field sending Johnson back a few steps. He will make the catch and the Padres’s win. Well, they take game three of the series, winning this one 11-3 on a night when the Padres’s end up with four home runs, including that guy, Bryce Johnson, connecting on his first home run in a Padres’s uniform.

We shouldnt be struggling against the rockies
i was here, cant believe johnson hit a home run
Nice home run derby 🏆
Bryce Johnson for best bench player
One game up, one game down.
Practically the same challenges from the opposing pitcher, statistically. Both have high ERA's and awful details otherwise, and both are pitching here, away from home.
One night, two runs on a few hits, no slugging whatsoever.
Next time, four home runs and all sorts of traffic on the bases.
You can't play baseball this erratically and inconsistently and expect much success overall.
We'll have a much better test of how serious the San Diego Padres are when they play the Brewers later this month.
I will give credit where it's definitely due, though, and that would be praise for Dylan Cease. However awful the Rockies might be, they do have some offensive punch in their line-up.
Cease looked much more like himself, as we remember 2024. Fewer walks, by far. Better command.
Congratulations to him! We definitely could use vintage Dylan Cease right now!
It’s just 62 at bats, but Bryce Johnson is hitting .371.
I was there and I will think they won for my 62nd birthday! And all the other 9 kids who also had a birthday sign today.😂🎉❤
Man I really wish we get the Division this year, Dodgers are starting to get weaker and the Giants are still a few games short so this is the perfect opportunity to do it we really should be playing our hardest right now.
