Minus the loss today. If the Saints management doesn't wake up and realize the problem they have on their hands then I don't know what. Their fans were so loud it sounded like a 49ers home game.

  1. From what I been reading, 49ers fan travel well. I don’t think this is so much the state of the Saints but the fans of the 49ers.

  2. 49ers fans travel well, we suck, and Saints fans are pretty fair weather, so this isn’t a surprise at all

  3. Teams are marking games at the SD as home games, it was louder when the Saints had the ball; embarrassing. •

  4. For laughs i went and looked at upcoming game prices the home games are way lower than the road games. By December you probably can get into the Jets game for the price of a ham sandwich and a coke.

  5. Landed at MSY last night. Airport was like 75% niners fans. New Orleans away games have always been a big attraction for all other fan bases, but especially now with tickets cheap.

  6. I know they travel well, but also it’s plenty of 49ers fans down south as well. If you’re not a cowboys or saints fan, 49ers fans are pretty common.

  7. 9ers fans travel heavy and New Orleans is consistently one of the highest rated road game experiences. Won’t be the only time this year that happens.

Also anecdotally, my parents just flew back home this week (Wednesday) after visiting SF. There were tons of 9er fans on the plane headed here, and planning to stay all week.

  8. It’s not a management problem it’s a fan problem. Season tickets have a waitlist, the reason this happens is fans selling their tickets to whoever. It is what it is, I’m not going to tell anyone what to do with their time or their property but the local fans can show up or try to sell to other locals who’re fans. This doesn’t happen in soccer (non-MLS anyway), no matter how bad the home team is.

  9. This is what happens when Mickey chews in the fanbase’ face for a whole year, refuses to fire Allen, gets embarassed by Gayle overruling him, and *then* starts a rebuild three years too late

  10. Yes—but this likely tracks for all road games the 49ers have, and they’re a very trendy club right now. (Casuals/Girlfriends)

  11. You have to also understand that New Orleans is a tourism city and the proximity to downtown makes this game a destination trip for any team fan. I have gotten used to the upper level peppered with opposing fans, but this does look pretty bad.

  12. You fix this by winning. Winning fixes a lot of things. Unfortunately, we might not be at the place for that right now

  13. You could hear it on that last touchdown. It sounded like we scored. Definitely weird, but I think that’s just what 49ers fans do

  14. I remember when the Niners were in the NFC West with the Saints in the 80s and 90s, and my family had season tickets. We played them every year in the Dome, and as far as I can remember, it never looked as bad as this, even when the Saints were having some brutal years in the Ditka era when Steve Young was routing us. Can any other old-timers confirm this, or am I misremembering how many Niners fans were at the Dome back then?

  15. I go to every home game and haven’t missed one since the Covid season. I can honestly tell you this is every week, every visiting team. Considering there is a waiting list for season ticket holders, your frustration should be directed at them for selling their tickets en masse on the secondary market. When the lions were in town a couple years ago, the boos when the Saints took the field were louder than the cheers.

  16. I don’t know, they always travel well (Niners fans). It did seem like there were more than usual here though.

  17. Niners fans travel well. Lots of fascination with the city too. Sf and Nola have their similarities in character sometimes. They were also divisional opponents just 25 years ago too

  18. “Mickey better start doing something!”

WTF do you think they’re doing? Fired DA, Hired Superbowl winning coach for the rebuild. Isn’t blowing our cap money on FAs.

Have some damn patience. Fans like you are the worst.

  19. I’m glad this came up – I am a Saints fan in the UK – and will be going to my first game at the Dome in November when we play the Falcons.

I am also a huge soccer fan and have had a season ticket at Manchester City for over 35 years. We were utterly shit – and not even in the Premier League for at least 20 of those years – yet in soccer, the idea of not turning up for your team at home is just unimaginable for the majority of fans.

I could never see something like this at a UK soccer match (also limited by the fact away fans get a dedicated small allocation as we have enforced segregation).

I really hope that I am not surrounded by Atlanta fans in my visit….
