We’re going to have Monday Night Football on the card on Monday. We’re going to have WNBA action all week as well as Major League Baseball. But let’s get to this one between the Washington Nationals and the Atlanta Braves. For the Washington Nationals, I see Mitchell Parker listed as a starter in this one while the Braves will counter with Spencer Strider. And Parker coming off a really solid outing last time out. Seven and two/3 innings, a two-run ball. Gave up just four hits. Now, that could be probably his best start of the season, but it is worth noting that he did face a Miami Marlins team that at least for me historically has been a team that I’ve faded against lefties because they just don’t hit left-handed pitching all that well. Um, but that’s, you know, it could be, I mean, could be challenged a little bit considering that the start prior Parker faced the Marlins and gave up four runs, two earned over four and two/3 at home. So, you kind of got to take it for what it is. But now you’re facing an Atlanta Braves team that yes has been, you know, inconsistent against lefties in their own right, especially when you look at their numbers on the road. But Parker at home this season still has a 5.27 erra. He’s been one of the least profitable pitchers, not just on this national staff, but really in all of baseball. And he’s just been very, very hitable at home this season. You know, along with that 5.27 RA, he’s got 291 opponents batting average. The home runs have come evenly home and away 12 a piece. But I still think the Braves can get to him for a few runs here. On the other side, if you had told me in past seasons that Spencer Strider would be getting hit left and right as hard as he is, I might have thought you were a little bit crazier or I may have asked, “Are we talking about the same Spencer Strider?” But, you know, he came into the season a little bit later than usual and just really didn’t look right and still hasn’t looked right in fairness. There have been spots where Strider, you know, has put together quality outings. I mean, he’s had, you know, quality starts in two of his last three outings. The problem is is that the Braves haven’t been rallying behind him to win really any of his starts. I mean, you look at Strider’s last six starts, they’re 0 and6. The Braves are, you know, a lot of those games, they’re either not backing him up or Strider’s put his team behind the eightball. Now, he has pitched okay in the month of August, excuse me, the month of September. Two starts, a 4.09 an 09 erra isn’t great, but it’s it’s workable. But you look at the month of August, I mean, a 10.13 erra for Strider. Seven home runs allowed in the four starts. And while the Nationals have had their issues against right-handed pitching at times this season, you look in the month of September so far, this is the Nationals lineup that’s top five in baseball and isolated power. You know, the the uh the team OPS numbers are top 10. The batting average is rock solid as well. That’s top 10 as well. So, for me in this one, I’m expecting some runs in this game. And I think that, you know, even if the starters don’t get us there, I think the bullpen certainly could. So, I’m going to roll with the over between the Braves and the Nationals, and that’s going to be my free pick.
