Dallas Stars Sign Liam Malmquist to ECHL Contract!! Jets Fan Reaction!!

Moose watch. Good morning, afternoon, even ladies and gentlemen. As the uh intro suggests, it is Moosewatch. And I know it’s been a while since I have made a video. I’ve been basically just covering news. And you know what? I’ve been busy. So, quick little me update. Uh, I’m going to be a one of the writers for the University of Manitoba Bison’s hockey teams. Uh, some of my articles, if you follow me on Instagram at Zachary Nolan 3, uh, I’ll be posting that on my story. I’m also very happy to announce I am the commentator and basically the main reporter for the uh, the Winnipeg Monarchs. The Winnipeg Monarchs are an MJHL hockey team. Uh, if you want to see my work, it’s MJHL Monarchs. Uh you can see all the postgame and media availabilities that I do with the team and you will be able to catch me on the broadcast whether it is uh caller commentary some games and playbyplay on others. You can also go to their website and they’ll have a radio working on game days. They don’t have it up yet, but next week is their uh season opener against the Selkerk Steelers, which I will be calling, so that will be fun. But yes, down to the task at hand. The Madison Moose have um the former Madison Moose forward Liam Malmquist who was signed out uh basically do a try out deal out of the University of St. Thomas has officially signed a contract in the ECL with the Idaho Steel Heads, the ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars. He’s a guy who actually I liked uh in his very brief tenure with the Manto Moose. In five games he had two goals and for a plus two rating and one penalty to his name. Uh overall, Monquist uh spent a lot of time, first in the BCHL with the Pentictton V’s and then a lot of time in the NCAA. The first two years were pretty uneventful uh playing for the University of Wisconsin, struggling to get going offensively. However, in his last two seasons with the University of St. Thomas, he had 27 points in 36 games and then 45 in 38, including 20 goals to his name, which is really hot. uh plus 18 on the ice. Uh he was good. He was basically he literally came as advertised I would say. Uh of the pickups that the Moose made midway through the season, 90% like most of them didn’t end up staying with the team. The one exception being Reese Vitelli. I liked Mongquist. I thought Mongquist was personally probably the best of the bunch. I thought that in terms of his rate per game, he contributed well. Of course, he is slightly undersized at 5’10. He’s 24 years old. Uh turning 25 this year. Uh I think he’ll be back. He’ll work his way back to the AHL or he’ll thrive in the ECL cuz I really think his speed and his ability to just find really good uh lanes to net and get pucks on net well, I think is just too good to not at least make it to the AHL. But we’ll see. We will see. There’s always a lot of motion up and down in the ECHL, so we’re going to see how it kind of unfolds. Uh, our last signing to report will be Ryan Chisowski, which we have heard rumors he’s going to the Rapid City Rush in the ECHL, but it’s not confirmed yet, so I’m not making a video till it’s confirmed. And then we’re going to cover the AHL tryyout offers that the Moose send out because the Jets sent out theirs today and it’s nobody nobody that isn’t already signed with Mantum Moose. So, it’s it’s nobody of note. the last couple um practice tri PTO’s that the Jets have signed, the most two recent ones were Trevor Lewis uh for like the COVID year and uh of Fetchnikov uh for the 2022 season. So yeah, uh that’s about it for Moose Watch. Uh thanks so much for watching guys. Hope you have a wonderful rest of your day. Like I said, uh you can check me out on MJHL Monarchs. I will be posting a bunch of media availabilities whenever I’m working games. So, yeah, hope to hear from you guys. It’ll be a little bit of a busier season for me, but I’m excited for it and uh hope to hear from you guys soon. Thanks so much for watching and we will see you next time. And go Bombers as they play the Tiger Cats tonight. Back again. Far side quick shot deflected in front. They score. Cole Peretti with a deflection. 1.6 seconds left in the third period. The Jets tie it up at three.
