2025 Prospect Tournament | Sam O’Reilly 9.10.25

Sam, I know it’s been a bit, but can you take us through the trade that brought you here to Tampa? Yeah. Um, you know, it was right after development camp in Edmonton there, but uh got the call a couple days after and uh I uh super lucky and uh um just really fortunate to be in such a good spot here in uh Tampa. So, really excited uh for the future. Where were you? Who’d you tell first? Uh I was actually at the golf simulator. Um, I gave uh I gave a couple of my buddies a call and my parents and then uh they were all excited about it. Best reaction you got to that news? Um, I think my dad was really fired up. Um, I mean, my family in general. Um, I have uh good family friends up north that are big Tampa Tampa fans. So, um, it’s cool for them and myself. So, and so far, what has been your first impression of this organization? Uh, it’s it’s been awesome. Everybody’s really welcoming here. um the guys and all the coaches, the staff here. So, um you know, really happy and uh really grateful honestly. Um really nice city as well. Only uh got here for the first time yesterday. So, um just really grateful for everything. Sam, how’s the summer been for you just kind of getting up to speed on on a new organization, especially since you weren’t working here for the Yeah. Um obviously, it’s quick. Um you know, meeting a lot of new people and uh you know, a lot of new faces, a lot of new names. So, just kind of getting used to it and um trying to stay ready for whatever comes. What’s your kind of what’s your approach with this particular camp that you guys are going through right now? I’m in the tournament. Just kind of being one of the new faces here. Yeah. Um just trying to stick to myself. Um play my own game and stick to stick to myself as a player and not try to change anything and try to be a different player. Um you know, come in here and uh stick to what I’m good at.
