Patrick Mahomes

  1. There are a few QBs who still need to play tonight, but Mahomes is leading the NFL in Expected Points Added.

That tells you something about how little help he’s getting, considering the amount of points we’ve put up.

  2. I hope Veach is seeing all of this lol. I want to print the meme on the 2nd slide and stand outside the stadium offices like:

  3. So pretty much Pete is saying to Veach – “You’re the GM. There’s no excuses why you didn’t add in legit playmakers for Mahomes if you knew this was Kelce’s final season and Rice was going to get suspended.”

  4. While that’s true, coming off this game isn’t exactly the best timing to be making this point.

I mean Pat wasn’t good yesterday. He had one of the most embarrassing missed throws of his career.

Again not saying Pat isn’t working with next to nothing. But his passing game also hasn’t been all that impressive of recent.

  5. The disheartening thing was, after half time, the sideline reporter said she asked about Mahomes having to do to much and Reid’s answer was, “Well, it’s working so far.” smh

  6. Pats legs have been amazing. His arm not so much. He is indeed shouldering everything but he also isn’t helping himself with missed throws. It wasn’t like Thornton was dropping dimes laid out perfectly to him.

  7. It sucks because no matter what weapons are brought in for Mahomes, it never really works out for one reason or another (injury or suspension). Kelce has been a help but I think age is catching up and his role should be getting reduced for preservation over the course of the season (this may be why he’s blown 2 games this season). RB needs help. Love Pacheco but I don’t think he is it and I think Hunt is the better fit. I know people want Hill back but he may be facing a suspension so I’d pass. I think we should have pursued Hunter Renfrow or Thielen this off-season, maybe even kicked the tires on OBJ.

  8. I think Mahomes needs a mentor or just someone to talk to about how get himself straight. I would love for someone like Kurt Warner to take PM under his wing. Maybe get him some confidence back. He just seems so unsure of everything. I know…not having receivers and bad OL play and the pending Kelce retirement don’t help! But I do think he needs some mentorship. Even the best need a little help sometimes.

  9. I truly don’t think Pat is this type of guy and/or player but how long until he gets tired of this and decides to go play somewhere that will give him the protection and help he deserves? He’s been carrying the team by himself for a couple years and his reward is for him to need to carry harder. Jawaan Taylor is our teams 2nd highest cap hit ($27m) and Chris Jones is 3rd ($24m). Taylor’s contract is an all time bust and the Jones contract is looking worse with every passing week.

  10. Mahomes is part of the problem the last season and this. His deep accuracy is not up to his standard and it’s okay to admit that. Doesn’t have enough help, yes. But Mahomes of 3 years ago would have been better than he’s been playing

  11. “He needs an offensive line!?!” They invest heavily in getting him an OL.

“He needs a defense!?!” They invest heavily in drafting cheap defensive players.

    “He needs weapons!?!”

There are going to be holes on this roster with the continued success the Chiefs have seen. Somebody is going to have to step up (other than Mahomes). Let’s see what this offense looks like when Rice gets back.

  12. OK, so I went through all of the comments. Nobody has mentioned in these first two games. The Chiefs are out three of their top five receivers, including their number one and two. (Yes I know TT is a comment for number four or five right now.) but don’t forget we were three and four and won the Super Bowl. Defense looks solid. We definitely need some hype when it comes to offensive plays.

  13. I watch a ton of football on Sundays. The thing I still can’t understand is how our receivers get no separation. I know we are down a couple of good guys but that happens to teams a lot. We have constantly been in a situation where if you lose 1 or 2 guys at receiver, Pat has to either place the ball perfectly every time.. or take off running. It’s almost like the scheme works perfectly for guys it’s designed for but if you have to go to a WR3 or WR4 the whole thing falls apart and they just run themselves into coverage. When you watch the game back, you see that guys don get open at all. That isn’t happening to most teams.
