Didn’t realize it was this bad

  1. Joe takes lots of sacks confirmed. Oline has beg not great since he came, but he also takes a lot of sacks trying to make things happen.

  2. Just hear me out, maybe they should run an offensive gameplan that doesn’t make joe stand there with the ball for more than 2 seconds. Like Brady in his last few years. Death by a thousand cuts with PA deep shots.

  3. If we can get a twitter (x) Major J.L. Burrow updates about his time in the war that would be good

  4. Doesn’t burrow already have one of the quickest releases in the league? I haven’t heard anything recently but I remember hearing this a couple years ago

  5. Well when you have a bottom 5 offensive line for 4 seasons your QB is going to get sacked and pressured a lot.

  6. Honestly it looks bad on the organisation, how can we get an asset like this and make half assed attempts to protect it?

Sure he takes sacks when trying to make things happen but there have been endless instances where he’s getting drilled prematurely.

  7. This more shows how bad luck had it. 15 less sacks in 27 more games these aren’t even comparable outside of it’s the same two stat lines. Also why does browning have a lower sack rate with the same line as burrow?

People are making this out to be more than it is.

  8. Either the scheme needs to change or the personnel needs to change. This isn’t a burrow issue. We don’t have a line good enough to have burrow sitting in shotgun 40+ dropbacks a game. He has one of the quickest release times in the nfl and to my knowledge none of his injures have ever occurred trying to extend a play. The injury yesterday was a complete pocket collapse the second the ball was snapped. So either the coaching is setting him up for injuries or the front office has done a terrible job identifying offensive line talent.

  9. If joes problem is trying to “extend the play” doesn’t that fall on Taylor more than Joe? Why can’t he scheme plays to get the ball out quicker?

  10. You can’t really compare the two situations because Andrew Luck had bad head injuries and he was being rushed back out which made everything worse, that hasn’t really happened to Burrow.

Burrow has been mostly leg injuries, which isn’t as serious long term but the lonely rehab sessions are still very real.

  11. If things don’t get better in the next season when he’s healthy again, we better start mentally preparing for him to move on.

  12. It’s terrible, but all I can think of is his interview back in ’18 when he alluded to it being all about the money. And how he’s so highly paid. And how his receivers are so highly paid. It makes me wonder how he feels about all of this.

  13. Good thing we have chase, and not sewell!

What is better to pair with the best qb, the best wr, or the best offensive lineman?

  14. I have never seen an elite QB like Joe Burrow have to run for his life as quickly as he does as soon as the ball is snapped. I get Miles Garrett and Micha Parsons shredding an offensive lineman, but holy shit we make an average D line look like Reggie White, Warren Sapp, John Randle, and Aaron Donald are on the field at the same time.

  15. Yeah, why Joe would keep playing is beyond me. Go be a model or whatever. The Bengals are certainly not a team you give up your life for. Unless significant upgrades are made I would tell them to pound sand

  16. I’m, at the very least, going to become pretty casual about being a Bengals fan when Joe is done.

It’s unlikely they’ll ever have a QB this good again (need a top pick in a year where the QBs are worth it, then need to develop and protect them) and if they couldn’t figure it out with him then it’s tough to get optimistic about what’ll come after.

  17. O-line isn’t the best yeah, but they’ve given Joe everything he’s wanted. Would’ve preferred a better o-line and seen Higgins walk to be honest. But not what Joe wanted. They’ve gotta figure something out.

  18. People point to this because it is the only similarity in this comparison between Luck and Burrow

  19. maybe not bad of glass after all.. And why does it seem like these long time QB’s played more games.. Like how is he only that far behind him.
