Congrats on being named the new voice of the New York Rangers!

Sam is now retiring and obviously there’s a lot of fans out there hoping that you will take over. What would that mean to you? You know, first of all, Sam is one of my favorite people. Met him when I was pretty young and have had the the great fortune to, you know, sit next to him on the plane on the on the Ranger charter flights now for for 29 years. And he’s one of the best of all time. You know, his calls are legendary. He he will go down as, you know, the voice of the Rangers for generations. You know, when I think back my first year in 95, it’s amazing that that was only Sam’s 10th or 11th year, I guess, because now it’s year 40. I don’t know where the time’s gone. In the last 50 years, there have only been two television um you know, main primary television voices of the Rangers, Jim Gordon and uh Sam. So, uh, we’ll see what the future holds when the time comes.

  1. It is hard to believe that Sam Rosen replaced Jim Gordon as the NY Rangers play by play, because these two legends have spanned generations of calling the games for so long. As a Rangers’ fan, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them during my whole life, and I’m almost 60.
