Isiah Pacheco has to be more patient or only run him between the tackles. He doesn’t have the burst to outrun angles against most defenses, and here, he has to follow Creed

  1. Honestly – Pacheco is a lost cause at this point. He sure stamps his feet hard when runs so he has that going for him.

  2. I believe it was last week, there was a run that he probably scores on if he follows Simmonds. Instead, he runs outside and gets tackled at like the 10 yard line. He definitely isn’t a patient rb.

  3. Pacheco is who he is. He’s going to run hard in a random direction and probably go down on first contact.

  4. I mean this has kinda been a known thing, he has zero vision as a ball carrier. Not great at breaking tackles and even though he runs a 4.3 he has no break away speed. He looks angry when he runs but that doesn’t translate over to his runs in anyway.

  5. Yeah, that is definitely Pacheco’s fault on that one. Also Chiefs RB coach should be pointing this issues out during film review. Seemingly didn’t get fixed from last week into week 2. That’s a home run td if he follows those blocks on this play.

  6. I hate to say it because I really like Pacheco at a person but it’s super difficult to watch teams with a competent running back and then watch Pacheco run into a defender for 1 yard and fall down damn near every play. We should be looking for another Jamaal Charles to take some of the pressure off Mahomes and the WR crew. If they know they can’t run the ball worth a crap they won’t be scared of the run at all and will make the passing game harder.

  7. Yeah. The center and the guard are pulling he should be in the center’s back pocket. Instead of aggressively running into defenders outside of the blocking scheme, he just had to wait a half second and then aggressively squeezed into a little daylight where the defenders were actually occupied with blockers. It wasn’t a ton of space, but at least his guys were there there working for him.

  8. He was explosive enough to make up for it a couple years ago. Was. Now it’s just a really bad RB room.

  9. Pacheco has no burst. Pacheco has no patience or vision. Pacheco lacks contact balance. He runs hard, fights through contact (albeit with little success), and he has solid top end speed. He is a good story more than anything else. I would take 50 other RBs in the NFL over him. There are multiple teams with second stringers better than him, and there are some teams that have 3rd stringers that I think could rival him. We have the worst RB room in the entire NFL, and due to our WR situation, we have the worst WR room atm as well. The front four on defense is bottom 5. The secondary has an asterisk next to it.

What this team has is great player leadership, a HOF head coach, and a HOF DC. It has a top 2 QB of all time. It has two, imo, past their prime HOFers – Kelce and Jones. It has a good enough offensive line. That is where KC is currently at. It’s going to require Kelce to stop making mistakes, CJ to start making more plays, Mahomes needs to stop missing throws, and the coaching staff is going to need to step up massively. Assuming injuries aren’t over the top, that is what it will take for this team to get back to the super bowl.

  10. There are times he could have gone the right side with only one defender yet he continues to run into bodies either in the middle or the left side for no reason smh

  11. Hunt needs more touches! Pacheco is not the same runner as he once was. Hunt still has a fire burning within! He could give the Chiefs 800-1200 all purpose yards this season with at least 15 touches a game. Give Hunt the ball and take the pressure off Mahomes and that O-line trying to pass block. Reid needs to get the run game going; he calls too many pass plays.

  12. He has terrible vision. He should be used more in the passing game but I genuinely don’t know why we try to run the ball with him

  13. In his defense, this play is going nowhere. Even if he follows Creed, multiple defenders are there to slow him down or even tackle him. There were obvious holds on this play as well that likely would have been called if he did follow Creed for any meaningful gain

  14. He’s unplayable. Dude is frankly a liability when he gets the ball. We gotta stop wasting snaps on this dude.

  15. Everyone notice that he doesn’t have that same spunk anymore. He used to run angry. I miss that.

  16. I know Andy will never do it but I would try anyone else at RB at this point.  Kareem is fine in his role but he doesn’t have the juice to carry the whole thing.  Throw Nikko back there or something, anything.  These missed plays are brutal, great calls, great design, great execution, and we just leave it on the table.  That Simmons one last week was beautiful, the way Simmons slapped the soul straight out of his guy and then took off like a cannonball.  Pacheco could have crab walked to a touchdown outside.

  17. He hasn’t looked the same since his broken leg. I’m starting to think there’s a mental problem as well.

If he can forget about his pitbull, bruiser style of running he had before, and have his coaches focus solely on patience and exploding through holes his lineman are making for him, he can be salvaged as a productive back in my opinion.

It’s hard to change instinct like that, or fix a mental block if that’s the case, but surely as professionals they could recognize that and try.

  18. Our RB group is depressingly bad, and every other contender has an elite threat there. It was a huge weakness last year too, but we decided they’re good enough for some reason.

  19. I’ve been over him since before his injury last year. He isn’t great. He’ll get you 3 yards. Not explosive. Next

  20. I’ve never seen him make something out of nothing. He just has very little talent if we are being honest, but I love the teammate in him.

  21. Really regretting how much I hated on EB when he was here. This would be a much different offense.

  22. He knows the play, he knows that he has the option to follow creed here. It’s crazy on the first all 22 cam I thought it wasn’t really Pachecos fault but then the next angle I realize the hole he had if he followed his blockers.

He needs to figure it out quick or veach needs to make some calls
