Miami Marlins vs Colorado Rockies – MLB 9/16/25 Full Game Highlights (MLB The Show 25 Sim)

Now from Kors Field at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in Denver, Colorado. A great night for baseball ahead on the show. It’s the Miami Marlins going up against the Colorado Rockies. And now, please welcome. First pitch coming your way next. Colorado Rocky just about set to go now. Today’s starting pitcher, Bradley Bllelock. How about a report on him, Chris? Well, you know, this guy wants to be better than that. I mean, the RA is bloated. He understands that he’s got to put his team in a better position to win ball games. And at this point, you have to forget about your own individual stats and you have to go out there and attack and try to get that W. And if you do that, you’ll look up and most likely that erra will have dropped over time. Well, Otto Lopez, the leadoff batter, as he looks at ball one. And that misses two balls, no strike. No strike. That’s down and in. A slider missed. [Music] There’s the strike. Three and one. That one misses. So, a lead off walk. Now, this was a story we were paying attention to before the game. We’ve seen him give up walks in the past and it’s an issue once again early on. And here’s the rookie center fielder Jacob Marcy in there at the knees for a strike. Lillock 24 years old and they went out and made a trade for him last season. Lopez gets his lead at first with nobody out. Next offering is fouled back. One ball. See if you can go upstairs a little bit. Make sure you miss up and out of the zone since you’re heading the count. One, two. Don’t miss in the zone cuz that’s where you get hurt. Got him. And one gone. First strike out for him in this one. And that splitter is maybe the go-to pitch when he’s looking for a swing and miss like that. He throws it quite a bit. And that’s a good example of the effect it can have on a hitter. [Applause] And now for the Marlins. Augustine Ramirez. Swinging a foul straight back. [Applause] [Music] Bllelock throws to first and he dives back in safely. [Music] And the right-hander deals lace down the line. Could be extra bases. Lopez headed for third. Headed for the plate. Relay throw home. Tag not in time. He’s safe and it’s one- nothing. Well, he found himself behind in the count right there, but he didn’t give in. Just a really nice job of turning on that pitch and smoking it down the line. And there’s no one playing there. So once it drops in fair, you’re on your way to extra bases. Liam Hicks the next up for the Marlins. And that’s in for a strike. It’s 0 and one. One straight, one out and a runner at second. [Applause] Definitely a swing and miss slider down and in. He finished that really well. Just couldn’t get him to offer at it. [Applause] man at second. That one inside and a count. Two on one. [Applause] And a big swing of a miss. Runner at second here. One gone. outside low and that’s ball three. [Applause] Line drive. Arcia throw to first in time. [Applause] Batty fifth first base. Time out for the Marlins lineup. One guy leading the way offensively for this club right now. Augustine Ramirez and Boo, he’s their team leader in home runs. So, you know, the pitchers on that other side, man, they took a lot of time preparing for him in that pregame meeting. You know, he’s got a lot of pop and it’s real pop. It’s not fluky at all. He can absolutely change the outlook of a game very quickly. So, watch out when he steps in. [Applause] Eric Wagaban stands in now. Looks at that one inside. [Applause] That’s out the corner. Popped up. Crim on the move and he makes the catch and that is that. But a run will score in the inning on this RBI double. It’s now a one- nothing ball game. Back here in Denver and towing the slab here, Adam Maser and Singy. It’s unique these days, but he’s more of a pitch to contact type of guy. Yeah, Boogie. He doesn’t rely too heavily on the strike out. He knows he needs to miss barrels, get some soft contact, let the defense do work behind him. And I think a guy like that can keep a good tempo, don’t give hitters time to adjust or think, they can move through a ball game and you look up, they’re in line for a quality start. We’ll see what he’s got in this one. turned on, but that’s foul down the third baseline. Oh, one one and two. [Applause] And a foul ball. He stays alive. Line drive. Base hit. So a man on base to start the inning. really nice job with two strike hitting in that at bat. Tried to get inside on him, but he was ready for it. Just kept his hands in and turned on the pitch. Good bat with his own. Mickey Monia digging in for the Rockies. Just missed. Not giving him a pitch to hit there isn’t a bad thing. He’s dealing with a great first pitch hitter up there. Freeman on at first. Nobody out. Come on. This one ripped but fouled to the right. [Music] There’s a one-1. Right through there for a strike. Good pitch down around the knees. You want to be there all game in a park like this. A popup sometimes will carry out maybe a two ball. Five, four, three, and they turn the double play. They made that double play look so easy, but it was far from routine. That’s the one thing about big leaguers. They make tough plays look simple. Here’s the power hitting catcher, Hunter Goodman. First pitch and he just misses. One ball. No strike. Two outs. Base is empty. Swinging a miss. And the count even at one. And that’s downed away. Two and one. There’s a swing and a drive back there. Makes the catch up against the wall. One hit in the inning, but no one left. Second inning coming up here in Denver. It’s the Marlins one and the Rockies nothing. Back here at Coorsfield. And now the DH. Troy Johnston. Troy Johnston. Block back to work. And a curve is down and in. [Music] this to third. Throws to first in time. One out in the second. Batting seven, second base, Moxy Mo A Costa. Moximo A. Costa. The next up for the Marlins. Go Rockies. pitch is in the dirt and that’s ball one. [Music] Larry Bullard, our umpire behind the plate. Bullard’s got a pretty standard strike zone. Sometimes they’ll have you guessing a little bit, but overall well respected umpire in the league. lined and that’s a base hit. So a man aboard now with one away batting eight right Victor Mesa Jr. now at the plate. Runner runner on the goal. That’s in for a strike. Go to second. You know, when you got cooler temperatures like this, sometimes it’s a little harder to get some offense going because hitters just don’t want to feel the sting in their hands. They don’t barrel it up. So, being aggressive there, trying to get into scoring position by stealing a bag. I get it. Sometimes you just have to try to manufacture some runs, especially in temperatures like this. Two outs and a curve misses outside and now it’s even one and one. Swing and a miss. Ugly swing right there. From a pitcher’s perspective, that’s a beautiful splitter right there. As a hitter, you don’t like it. But he’s commanded his fast ball. And out of that same tunnel, that splitter comes. And ah, he locked him up. And that’ll do it. The inning is over. Nothing doing for the lead one- nothing. And welcome back to the ballpark. Bottom half of inning number two. So in now for Colorado, Jordan Beck. That one the other way. Dives and makes the catch. Batting fifth first base. This dive wasn’t the result of a bad route. Singy. The only reason he made the play is because his route was so good. No doubt. Boo. Statcast tells the same story. I mean, he got to a spot as quickly as you can possibly get there. And he had to in order to have a chance at that diving play. Just special. Blaine Crim in the box with one away as he takes ball one. One out. Base is empty. [Music] In the air, right field. Mesa sizing this one up. He’s got it. And there’s two down. Batting six designated. And next is the designated hitter, Ezekiel Tobar. Come on. [Applause] [Music] That one finds the zone. Strike one. Right side. Hard hit. He takes it himself to the bag and that’ll do it. Rockies are down quietly. They trail here one- nothing. Top half of the third inning. And here is Javier Senoha. Javier Senoha. Swing and a liner. Foul off to the right. [Applause] Pitch misses. and one and one. Rockies. Senoha started after it, tried to hold up. Now a look to first and no swing says James Kingsley. Ground ball up the middle and it finds its way through for a hit. And that turns the lineup over. Well, they call that an advantage count for a reason. You’re so much more likely to get something you can handle. Timing on the swing was good. Able to shoot the ball up the middle. Didn’t square it up as much as he probably would have liked, but that’s a good approach paying off. And now they’ve got some speed on first. So, we’ll see if they try to get him. There goes the runner. Swing and a miss. And that’s a stolen base. Not even close. Let’s go Rockies. Swing and a miss. No balls, two strikes. That one’s upstairs. Ball one. Well, he missed badly with that O2 fast ball. Hitter has to understand probably wants to try to put him away with that pitch. So got to stay ready for it. Ground ball left side tosses to first and one away in the top of the third. Now batting number 87 Jacob Marcy getting ready to hit. Struck out swinging his first time. in the dirt. Blocked man at second. Check swing and he went strike one. One strike. [Music] Two balls, one strike. Senoha leads off second with one gone in the inning. Look out. And it hit him. Now batting number and at the plate for Miami, Augustine Ramirez doubled his first time. [Applause] Late swing fouled off. Two on, one out. And fouled off. I wouldn’t throw him another breaking ball. Try to go again with a fast ball. Slightly elevated. He just having a hard time catching up. Ground ball could be two to second. There’s one and that’s two. Poetry in motion there as the second base turns the double play. Nice throw to first and that’s the way to end the inning. [Applause] Set for the bottom of the third. So in now for Colorado Kyle Keros number 12 [Applause] the other way. Wagamovid steps on first for the out. batting eight left fielder Yakia and stepping in the rookie left fielder a bit behind with that swing. It’s strike one in the on deck circle. You really want to use that opportunity to see some pitches and time up the fast ball. Last thing you want to do is miss a good hitable fast ball early in the count. Got him swinging. Gosh, here it is. Hit it. Three pitch strikeout. All fast balls. Man, he’s got a lot of confidence in that pitch right now. Orlando Aria. Here’s Orlando Aria. Slice the other way. That’s a base hit and that extends the inning. [Applause] Now batting right fielder. Back to the top of the lineup. Here’s Tyler Freeman to hit. One for one. He let off the bottom of the first with a single. [Applause] Now this is in the air down the line and that drops foul. [Music] up the middle. That’s a hit. And now first and second with two outs. Now batting center fielder Mickey. Now the number two hitter Mickey Monia. He’s 0 for one. [Music] That’s in for a strike. [Applause] And a curve misses outside. [Applause] Swing and a popup. Foul territory for the catcher. And that is the inning. Two left for Colorado. They’re down one- nothing. Back here in Denver. Out of the fourth. Here’s the catcher, Liam Hicks. Higs, 25 years old. He’s actually a former rule five draft pick. You know, these Marlins doing a great job, Boo, of just waiting for the right pitch to come their way. And I’m seeing very patient at bats out of him. He’s only giving up one run, but the starter pitch count is starting to get up there, and that might be the best news yet for this offense. got him looking and he didn’t like the call. Well, definitely a borderline pitch right there and he didn’t look too convinced as he headed back to the dugout. You know, those are tough ones to let go as a hitter, but with a human umpire calling balls and strikes, it’s always going to be on you to protect yourself with two strikes. Eric Wagaban the next up for the Marlins right through there for a strike. One straight. One down. Base is empty. Swinging a ground ball up the middle. Not in time. He’s safe. Tough play and a nice backhand stop. Had to be perfect with the exchange and throw to get the out, but it looked like he had to dig in there a little deeper like he was trying to get a split finger grip or something. Close play, but that little extra time on the transfer made all the difference. And up next for Miami, Troy Johnston grounded out his first time up. Now that’s smacked to right center and a base hit. Throw into third and the throw’s offline. Safe at third. Two consecutive base hits for these guys here. Nice line drive to the pole side right there, but he didn’t spin off of it. That’s the key. You still have to extend through the baseball in order to hit a line drive like that. Two on, one out. A Costa digs in now. One for one with a single so far. First pitch, just misses. Could use a ground ball here. Something in the infield. Runner at first base. Get two. Get out of this. Wagaman at third. Johnston over at first with one away on the ground. Base hit and a run in to score. Stringing them together. That’s three hits in a row. Just kept it simple. Played Pepper with the middle of the infield and took it back where it came from. And there’s just no one there to knock it down. First and second, one out. Victor Mesa Jr. the next to hit. That one clips the outside corner. That’s strike one. One out. Runners at first and second. And a swing and a miss. Stirring in the Colorado bullhead. Arman Marquez getting loose out there. Gordon getting cranked up as well. Two on, one out. And one and two. [Music] [Applause] Next offering misses down and away. Two balls, two strike. Swing and a fly ball in the air out towards right center field. Moniac pulls that one down and there’s two away. Now batting third baseman Javier Samohha. Here’s the third baseman, Javier Senoha. Singled and stole a base’s first time. [Applause] Climbed the ladder with that fast ball. That’s strike one. [Applause] And this is inside. [Music] [Applause] Pitch misses. Now two balls in a strike. Tough spot right here. A couple runners on two ball count. You can’t nibble, but you have to execute and finish your pitch. If you leave something out over the plate, it’s going to bring in some runs. That one fouled off. Two and two. Two on, two outs. [Applause] That’s the third. Oh, can’t pick it up cleanly. And everyone safe. They’re loaded. Couple of hits in a uniform here now. bases load. Big opportunity for them to break this game open. Here comes the skipper and we’re going to see a pitching change in this spot. Bradley Bllelock out of the game and it wasn’t his best start, but he kept him in it to this point. And we’ll come back with a new on. Now pitching new pitcher in the game for the Rockies, Anthony Molina. Well, at this point of the ball game, we’re talking about middle innings and get a little length out of this arm coming out of the bullpen. We’ll see just how many outs he’s able to give his skipper. Back to the top of the Miami order. The batter now, Otto Lopez. He’s 0 for one. That’s in there. Strike one. Oh, he’s so good about trying to drive the ball to the opposite field gap in these situations. If he takes that approach, he could bust this game wide open. [Applause] Here’s a rip to short, but he’s there for the third out, but they pick up one run on the RBI single and it’s two zip. It’s Major League Baseball on the show. And we’re back. Bottom of the fourth at the plate. Hunter Goodman. Hunter Goodman. Fast is outside. [Applause] Sliced hard but foul. [Music] And the sweeper misses. [Music] [Applause] [Music] There’s the strike. Two two [Music] set down on strikes. Fast ball at the letters. frozen for strike three. Well, just couldn’t pull the trigger on the fast ball right there. And I don’t think he was taking it, thinking it might be a cold ball or anything. I just think he was flat out frozen. Did not expect that location in my opinion. Bad batting with one down. Takes the strike. Wide drive. And that should be extra bases around first and hustling for second. Not stopping. He’s going for three. The relay in there safely. Everything came together for him. Anytime you rip a line drive the other way, you feel really good about what you did at the plate. You trusted your hands. You let the ball travel and you took the barrel straight to it. That’s great work right there. One down, runner at third. Bla Prim digging in for the Rockies. Fly to right. His first time now. One missed. And there at the knees. One ball, one strike. One ball. One strike. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Out to center. Marcy on his way over. Drops into the glove. Runner tagging from third. He’ll score on the sack fly. And now they trail by one. In that situation, you’re looking to get something up in the zone that you can put in the air. Worst case scenario, a sacrifice fly to drive in that runner from third. Next is the designated hitter, Ezekiel Tobar. That one finds the zone and that is strike one. Well, he’s been incredibly efficient in this one. First pitch strike percentage over 70%. That’s well above league average and that’s what’s allowed him to pitch well up until this point. Now the one and there’s a foul ball. Two down, base is empty but one run across. We’re here in the bottom of the fourth. Got it. And he’s registered three Ks in this one. So they get one run, one hit, no errors, and nobody left on. Onto the top of the fifth we go. It’s the Marlins two and the Rockies one. We go to the top of the fifth. Here’s the center fielder, Jacob Marcy. 87 Rockies line drive to put a really good swing on that pitch and hit the ball hard. You know, line drives won’t always find a hole, but the more you can hit the ball like that with good exit below, the better off you’re going to be in the long run. Foul ball. Hard grounder into the outfield for a knock. Now batting catcher Liam Hicks. Man at first with one gone. And now the catcher comes up to hit. Liam Hicks goal for two in this one and immediately pumps in a strike to the left-handed hitter. That’s down and in. line to left. No trouble here. Puts it away for the out. And there are two outs. Now batting number 33. And now for the Marlins. Eric Wagaban. [Applause] hammers that one curling down the line and foul. Well, he got a first pitch breaking ball right there that he clearly liked the look of. Just needed to let it travel a little longer on the ground to third. Sends it across the first and that is the inning. One left for Miami, but they still lead it two to one. [Applause] Back here at Coorsfield now to third base, Kyle Carol number 12, Mer back to work. Strike one. That was just paint on the first pitch fast. And strike two quickly in an 02 count. You’ve got to figure out a way to shorten your path to the baseball. Put it in play somewhere. Then you got a chance. Out to short Lopez on first. And that’s the first out in the bottom of the fifth. Talk about being able to dial up the velocity. That first baseman over there might need a little pad inside that first baseman’s mitt. Now the left fielder 0 for one. He struck out swinging last time. First offering in the dirt. Swanging a ground ball. Zips it to first. And that quickly two away. Now batting the shortstop, Orlando Aria. Next for Colorado, Orlando Arcia. And he’s already singled in this game. That one in 95 missed up top. And that is ball one. Two down, nobody on. Last half of inning number five. out to short. Throws across the diamond. Three up, three down. Inning over. Nothing doing here this half. Five innings complete. It’s the Marlins two and the Rockies one. And welcome back to the ballpark. Start of the six, John Shami with Chris Singleton. And leading off, Troy Johnston. And the first offering a fast ball for a strike. Meanwhile, activity in the bullpen. Arman Marquez getting ready to come on for Bud Black. [Music] Highf fly ball and that one curling foul down the right side. Going to count one and two. One and two. And a base hit into right center field. So a runner aboard to start the inning. Still able to come through behind in the count right there. Off the bat. It was headed for the gap all the way. And as a hitter, you love seeing those as you take your first couple of steps out of the box. You know you got some real estate to run on. It’s such a good feeling. Nice liner into the gap right there. And at the plate for Miami, Moximo A Costa Rockies Rockies. Fast for a strike. Johnston aboard here at first with nobody out. [Music] And that one upstairs. Ball one. [Music] Line drive and foul ball [Music] in the dirt. Nobody out. Runner at first. [Music] And that one popped in the air. Left field. Sizes this one up. And there’s one down. Just pulled off of it a little bit right there. That front shoulder coming open instead of staying closed. If he does that, he’s going to be able to go up the middle the other way with some authority instead of a fly out to left. Victor Mesa Jr. now at the plate. the inning. And the first pitch misses for ball one. [Music] [Applause] Fouled off left side. One-run game. One out, one on. Rolled to short. Possible two ball. one at second. Double play. What a twin killing day to end the inning. No runs, one hit, no errors, and no one left. Top of the order, two up in the home half of the six. It’s the Marlins two and the Rockies one back here in Denver. And now the right fielder, Tyler Freeman. fielder Tyler Freeman. [Applause] And that’s through there for a strike. And it’s 0 and one. [Music] [Applause] battling here as he fouls it away. That missed by a lot. And that’s ball one. Cuts and misses. It’s a strike out. Toughest pitch to hit. Fast ball on the outer black. Man, sometimes you just got to tip your cap. and our fielder Mickey Moniac. Mickey Monia digging in for the Rockies. That one misses and it’s one and0. The Rockies down by a run here in the bottom of the sixth and a strike. [Music] And that one pulled foul. [Music] And it’s even up. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Ripped to third and picked on a hop. Sends it to first. Two up, two down. Now batting catcher Hunter. Hunter Goodman digging in for the Rockies [Applause] that clips the inside corner for a strike. The guy’s going this good. He’s retired seven in a row. You got to step out of the box, fake bunt, do something to break it up. Next offering is fouled back. Two down. Nobody on and it’s fouled off. They’ll do it again. Pitch in the dirt and it’s one and two up the middle. A Costa The throw to first. It’s a one, two, three inning for the Rockies. Nothing doing it for the Rockies. They’re down two to one. Welcome back. We’re in the seventh. We have a new pitcher on the mound, Anel Shabid. Well, he’s been hit pretty hard at times this season as you see with the big RA. So, this is an important outing for him to get on the right track. Well, one-run game. Javier Senoha getting ready to hit. He’s two for two. Go Rockies. Fouled off down the right side. Shavei 22 years old and he was born in the Dominican Republic. And that’s in the dirt. Next pitch is outside. Two balls, one straight. Next offering is fouled back. line drive and out number one on the grab now short Lopez. So digging in Otto Lopez in there at the knees. It’s 0 and one. Well, that’s really the money spot down and away. If you can locate that consistently, it’s going to be real tough for hitters to square that up. That’s what you love to see relievers do coming out of that bullpen. Swing and a ground ball out to short on the run. Sends it over to first. It’s there and that’s a great play. Now betting number 87. And up next for Miami, Jacob Marcy. And a first pitch fast ball is in for a strike. Cold night tonight, Boo. And that’s a pretty firm fast ball right there. I tell you what, memories of getting jammed, they creeping into my mind right now. Breaking ball inside. One and two. [Music] Ground ball up the middle. Arcia on the run. Throw to first. And that’s a nice play to end the inning. And one, two, three go the Marlins. They lead it 2-1. [Music] And we’re back. Now it’s the second baseman, Jordan Beck. [Applause] And the first offering is not close. Well, it’s been a very impressive outing so far. His command has been a big part of it. Even when he misses, he misses outside the strike zone, which is exactly what a pitcher wants. And that one fouled off. [Music] [Applause] Looking to get the tying run on base drive. Base hit. Well, that was an important bat in this game. So, great job there stepping up to the challenge. Solid swing from start to end. On time with everything. really good balance, nice extension, and he made it out front for the line drive knock. And now a chance to maybe get creative on offense with good speed on first. Now the Marlins manager out of the dugout, and he’ll make a move to the pen. Adam Meer won’t go any further tonight. And a nice effort out of him, no doubt. New arm coming on. We’ll be back for that in a moment. Now pitching for new arm out of the bullpen, George Soraniano. on for his 20th appearance of the year. No outs. Runner at first. Blaine Crim will hit next. [Applause] Strike one. Oh, this is a case of just slowing the game down. Sometimes you get so concerned with getting the job done, you forget that you still have to get a good pitch to do the job with. Puts a bunt down. A Costa tosses to first and one away in the bottom of the seventh. Well, just doing his part right there trying to move that runner in scoring position. Got it down successfully. Now we’ll see if they can drive him in from second. Next to hit for the Rockies, Ezekiel Tobar. This is what stat nerds like myself might call a high leverage situation. Yeah, Boo. Not sure what the numbers say, but clearly an at bat that could change the course of this game dramatically. [Applause] Right. Base hit coming home. The throw in. It’s offline and he scores. It’s 22. Well, that started and ended pretty quickly. No messing around right there. showed a willingness to drive that pitch the opposite way. Didn’t get jumpy. Didn’t try to pull the ball. He let it get deep. Took the barrel right to it and then extended through the swing for the line drive base hit. Here’s the third baseman. Kyle Keros moved first. Tobar back on a dive. [Applause] Swinging a foul out of play. [Applause] And he takes one right on the black. And the count is 0 and two. swing and a miss. Struck him out on a slider and there’s two gone. You know, Boo, you often think of sliders more for that horizontal movement, but most of the good ones have both vertical depth and that horizontal movement and that’s what we saw right there. Good drop on the break and got him to swing over the top. Here’s the left fielder. That’s in there. Going one strike. [Music] [Applause] Outside with a breaking ball. [Music] [Applause] This one high in the air to left center. Ramirez on the move to the alley. He’s got it and the inning is over, but the RBI single pushes across a run. Two- two game. You’re watching Major League Baseball on the show. Back here at Coorsfield, we go to the eighth. Now the left fielder, Augugustine Ramirez. [Applause] Shvi back to work. That catches the zone for a strike. One movement in the bullpen. Victor Vodnik appears to be getting loose. Number 51 warming up as well and ball one. That’s a ball right side. Crim and he’ll be safe at first. Now batting catcher. It looked to me like he got a great handle on the ball as it came out of his hand. Cold nights not really fun to play in and it makes it tough to hit as well. Makes it tough to throw and might have played a factor right there. Substitution now at first base and on to run for Miami. Number 63 Liam Hicks the next to hit. 0 for three in this one. Flips the corner. Strike one. The go-ahead run aboard at first. Nobody out. Shvi checks the runner and he’s back safely. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Nope. Homeplayed umpires trying to tighten things up a little bit. Swaging a ball hit out towards left center field. And that’s got extra bases written all over it. Runner around third on his way to the plate. He will score and they take the lead. His confidence level is so high. did a really nice job of coming through in a big spot. I love the approach he had right there with that pitch. Not trying to do too much, but still looking to drive it. And that’s exactly what he’s able to do into the opposite field gap for the double. Runner in scoring position. No outs. Eric Wagaban the next up for the Marlins. One for three. Basketball for a strike. [Applause] drilled out towards left center field. Way back there and it’s into the bleachers. Out of here. That one felt good. Home run number 10 on the year. It’s 52. That one just sounded different. And it might have been the loudest moment yet. Man, my ears are ringing. I could feel that swing from the booth. That’s as big as it gets right there. You take advantage of a mistake. That is an ultimate. Here it is. Watch it. I’m going to jog around the bases. Manager out of the dugout now. and he’ll make a move to dip into the Rockies bullpen. Anel Shavei will depart. It’s a three-run game and we’ll be back to tell you about the new arm in a minute. Now pitching Hermon Marquez comes on now. Just trying to keep this one close here. And this is where a bullpin can give their players a chance to fight back into the game. Now it’s the DH Troy Johnston breaking ball through there for a strike. You know, these Marlins showing great discipline at the plate and patience definitely seems to be the name of their game in this one. The numbers say their chase rate or swings at pitches outside the zone is under 25% and I think it’s a big reason why they’re scoring runs. that one off the mark and it’s a ball and a strike. By not chasing out of the zone, they’re getting good pitches to hit. When you can do that, you have a much better chance to square up the baseball and do damage like they have so far. First out in the top of the eighth. Now batting second base Moximo Aosta. And now for the Marlins, Moximo A. Cool stuff. Swing and a ball lifted left field. Carous it. Two down. Hey man, four pitches, two outs. That is an excellent pace. Now batting right fielder. Two outs. Base is empty. And at the plate for Miami, Victor Mesa Jr. 0 for three. A fly out, a ground out, and a strike out. Drilled out towards left center field. That’s well struck. This one could be trouble around first. Heading for two. Round second. Digging for third. And he’s got himself a triple. Well, clearly he was ready to hit right there. First pitch fast ball in a great spot to do some damage and he squared it up nicely. And up next for Miami, Javier Senoha. [Applause] Oh, he doesn’t get the call. Ball one. [Applause] up the middle. Fires to first on the run. Throw pulls him off the bag and he’s safe. That one really hurts. You’re already down in the game and that error puts you even further behind. Just can’t let it compound from here though. You got to flush it. Get ready for the next one. Make a play. Get back in the dugout. And the batter will be the shortstop. Otto Lopez. Marquez over to first. And he dives back in safely. [Applause] Runner on the go. Ball misses. Safe at second and he easily steals the bag. [Applause] Slider for a strike. Clips the corner and a count one and two. That’s foul off to the right side. Keeps the AB going. That wasn’t an easy pitch to hit. It’s much easier to do damage against mistakes, but that’s not what that pitch was [Applause] just off the outside edge. Yeah, that’s ball two. Really good take, especially with two strikes. This one in the air center field Moniac and that’ll do it. Four runs in the inning and they’ve jumped in front. Last half of the eighth coming up. It’s the Marlins six and the Rockies two. And welcome back to the ballpark. Ready for the bottom of the eighth. Now it’s going to be Orlando Aria. That one finds the corner. That’s strike one. Action in the pen down there. Ryan Weathers, the young lefty, looks to be getting himself ready. Now one out to right. Mesa on the move. And there’s one down. Now batting right fielder Tyler Freeman. Tyler Freeman now at the plate. Swings and hits one in the air out towards right field. And a couple of quick outs. Now batting center fielder. Two down, base is empty. And now the center fielder Mickey Moniac. That one’s in there. And it’s 0 and one. Two down, nobody on here. The bottom half of the eighth inning. reaches but can’t haul it in. [Applause] Hunter Goodman digs in now. Come on. There’s the strike. 95 of that one. [Music] Now one and a one. One ball, one strike. Just missed. [Applause] That one catches the zone. It’s two and two. [Music] Down to the dirt. Swing and a miss. Up with it. Fires to first in time. So the drop third strike doesn’t hurt him. And that’s that. The Rockies strand one. They still trail it here. It’s six-2. Now pitching. We’re back. It’s the top of the ninth and there’s a new pitcher on the mound. Tanner Gordon. And as relievers go, he’s not a big strikeout guy. Tries to force weak contact. So command and execution are huge for him. And now for the Marlins, Jacob Marcy. Center fielder number 87. [Applause] Misses just off the outside edge. I think that was a strike. [Applause] Next offering is in for a strike. [Applause] He swings and fouls one off and there’s a ball off the mark there and that’s ball Three strike stays alive. That one misses. So a lead off walk. Now betting number 63 man at first, nobody out. and stepping in the rookie left fielder. Came into the game as a pinch runner. This is his first trip to the plate in this one. Blind drive. That’s a base hit into right field. Lead runner holds up. They’re at first and second with nobody out. Now batting catcher Liam Hicks. Liam Hicks getting ready to hit. [Applause] Curveball drops in there. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Fast ball on the inside corner for a strike. The Rockies have some action in the pen. Number 55 getting ready to come on for Bud Black. Herget also throwing 0 and2 now. Gets a piece there. We’ll do it again. [Applause] Off the plate inside. One and two to count. [Applause] out towards right center. That’s well struck and that one hops the wall. One run across rounds third headed for the plate. He’ll score. Two runs are in. Back to back base hits. Nice line drive pull sideed out front but just stayed through it nice enough and ripped it into the outfield. And at the plate for Miami, Eric Wagaman. He’s already homered here in this one. And first off is fouled off. Hicks stands at second with no outs. [Applause] That’s out to center field. Moniac and there’s one away. Now batting the designated hitter, Troy Johnston. And next is the designated hitter, Troy Johnston. [Applause] In the air out towards right center. Freeman pulls it down and there’s two gone. Here’s the second base. Moximo Aosta Moximo A Costa [Applause] and a first pitch fast ball is in for a strike. Was good pitch there. Billy had some run and finished little up and end just on the edge. And that’s one of those if you swing at it, hit a broken back as you jog back to the dugout. Runner at second. Two down here in the top of the ninth. The 1-1 is fouled off. [Applause] Out of line out towards center. Monia makes the play. And that is that. They put two on the board with a couple of hits, no errors, and one left. Onto the bottom of inning number nine. 456 coming up. It’s the Marlins eight and the Rockies two. Now pitching for back now as they hand the ball to a fresh arm to start the bottom of the ninth. Calvin Fosch. Should be a good first matchup for him here. He’s been doing a great job against right-handed bats so far this season. They’ve had a lot of trouble squaring him up. Leading off, Jordan Beck for the Rockies, second baseman, Jordan Beck, the wind and the pitch. And that one is downstairs. Ball one. I can’t play around with him here. It’s a six-run lead at this point. Got to attack hitters even if you give up a solo shot. Swaging a popup foul out of play off to the right side. That’ll find the stands. on the ground to the left and that’s just fouled. [Music] Fights it off. He’ll see another. Knocks that one away and we’ll do it again. Also really good at bat. What I like about this guy, his bat stays in the zone for a long time. gives him the ability to foul off tough pitches. Pitch misses and the count is even. Two and two and down on strikes. He didn’t make it easy for him on the mound, but they still get the strike out. absolutely dotted the edge of the zone right there. That was a tough battle, man. So to make a really quality pitch and just catch him looking like that, it’s got to feel good out there on the mound. That was a fun at bat to watch. So in now for Colorado, Blaine Crim [Applause] on the ground out to short zips it across. Two up, two down. Now batting designated hitter Ezekiel Tovar. So it’s their last chance in this one. Here’s Colorado’s DH Ezekiel Tovar. [Applause] Chopped left side. Throw to first is in time. And that’ll do it. The Marlins take this one in a blowout. Sometimes road trips can be tough. if you’re away from your family, but when you can win, silence that opposing crowd. It makes things just a little bit better. Makes the road trip just a little bit shorter. 82 the final here for Chris Singleton and our entire crew. I’m John Shambi saying so long.
