Braves vs. Nationals Game Highlights (9/16/25) | MLB Highlights
Braves in town to make up a rain out from back in May game two, several hours from now. Good stuff from jake Irvin over the last couple of seasons against the Braves team that he’s going to face today. Five starts against Atlanta. He’s 2 to 0 with a sub two, er A and now matt Olsen with five strikeouts, two for 14 career against Jake I on the attack had a couple of swinging strikeouts starting his day and called up today, Jose Suarez gets the spot start for Atlanta. He made 11 starts in the league and threw the ball pretty well. The first pitch here gets by Brohan who is playing third today instead of Nacho Alvarez and Abrams reaches Abrams aboard. Here comes wood. That ball is hit deep right center Eli White to the wall and making a grab, reaching up to take extra bases away from James Wood. He went up back to the wall and right into that chain link white played that perfect andres Chaparro up the middle lefty lefty for Daylan Lyle. That ball driven to left center is going to come twisting back to profar leadoff bearer and Then a hit two stranded and for jake as he pitches his 164th inning, that’ll be his 58th walk. It’s been a bit of an issue inside front door breaking ball. Kim didn’t like the call from Adrian Johnson strikeout number three. Next up, Michael Harris the second, their number seven hitter, he’s gonna slap one to right on the charge. Cruz Albee’s reading it corner situation for Atlanta. Oh, he locked him all up with a heater inside Jake Irvin’s got some strikeout stuff going swing and a miss on a nasty breaking ball. He strikes out three in the inning and he’s been five through the first two innings and Don Cruz will calmly take it down. And even lately when he’s not been hitting a ton still getting on base, it’s 26 of his last 31 games. There’s a great swing to the other side. Cruz digging hard but so is Eli White on his way in the ball hit hard by House. He has to stop at second base. The nationals have runners on 1st and 2nd with one out. Now the pitch swinging a ground ball right side by Young, a base hit into right field. Cruz almost stumbled around third coming home. Whites throw to the plate not in time heading for third is House , no play there and the Nationals are on the board. Number one, great job by Jacob Young going the other way. Split the little hole that he had over there. Nice job by young pitch to the outer half and down. He went with it beautifully to drive in Cruz back to back swings like that for the Nats House did the exact same thing. Walking two singles. That’s a chance for a good crooked number here. Slow breaking ball. He gets a good piece of it. White’s got three assists out there. So a strong arm, he’s going to wing it home, made it close. But the nets on top by two great job by CJ. That was nicely done by Abrams to lift the ball trying to drive it out of the infield. I’ll tell you why you love the way he got behind the ball to catch it into the throw and he almost got him. But so far today, Jake Irvin, he’s had some traffic every inning, but he’s been able to work around it. Garcia cannot get to that. Hasan Kim with a one out single and Michael Harris with a hard hit line drive to right has kim will head around second Cruz the third base back to back singles for Atlanta. Second hit of the day already here for Michael. You can see Milo location on Eli trying to boost that average. It’s a 233 home nine times ground ball to the left side diving stop throw across and they will get one. Now, Harrison started to run to second base. So that helped prevent any chance they might have had at a double play and the Braves are on the board. Here’s vidal Brohan with the tying run in scoring position lined out to center. Jacob Young cannot get it. It’s going to roll out into left center. It’s going to be an RBI double for Vidal Brohan. This ball game is tied at two fastball right here, pretty much down the middle, slightly elevated. Heck of an effort by young. We talk about what a great defender he is, but he could not get there in time. And now pro fire steps in with a chance to give the Braves the lead and it is hit well to right Cruz drifting back. It is into the bullpen for a two run homer for Jurickson Pro four runs in the fourth for the Atlanta Braves off the plate away this one down well below the knees and the length of the swing to clip it perfectly. I feel like Shaggy and Scooby Doo right now going 11 runs yesterday, four here in the fourth today. And now matt Olsen, say goodbye to that. Whoa, second deck out in right center home runs in four straight games for the Braves first baseman Matt Olson. And the problem that we’ve seen all year from jake has been the Miss spot, the Milo location fastball back to back Jacks. It’s five to two major momentum shift in this ballpark and it’s got to feel good for Suarez, he’s trying to prove himself at this level all that time in the minor leagues after getting a pretty consistent taste of big league pitching, starting doing a good job today. And keep in mind he is only 27 years old when he had been around a while. He got to the big leagues in his age 21 season back in 2019. But talk about it all the time with left handers. Sometimes being some late bloomers, the left on left change with for has been excellent with it here this afternoon. That is a called strike, a good change up. Another one from Suarez six innings, seven strikeouts, a solid start so far today, everything you could ask for and more here this afternoon, Jacob Young 12 on the day with an RB. I struck out last time up. This is going to be a tough play for Kim. Oh, that’s excellent, barehanded throw it all in one motion to get Jacob Young who has great speed, excellent work there from has on Kim. And I think that keeps Jose Suarez in this game if he safe, Suarez is out and he gets another strikeout. It’s the slider there. Eight Ks for Jose Suarez. Suarez really probably turned some heads in the Braves dugout here today. He has been Saucy another strikeout. Jose Suarez, his first big league start of the season. He strikes out nine and gets through seven good for him. So back to back hits two on one out. Braves looking to add on to their 52 lead here in the eighth. We drove in a run with a ground out back in the fourth inning. Here comes Jacob. He’ll slide into that. We talk about best jumps in the league, best routes in the league. Jacob Young and seen it from this vantage point is even better. Two balls, two strikes and a soft little liner out to left for Brohan might have a play at the plate here. Oh, it’s cut off and sliding in safely. Hasan Kim Braves get some insurance here in the eighth. Bruja batting ninth and the Braves have a 62 lead here in the eighth. Insurance runs in the game of the game. Good contact on a deep fly to left center of the first space it to left of the third and a sharp grounder right to the first baseman near the bag in the fifth. Thank you, Dan Deliver. Look at this shot into the Rafield corner down there. He’s going to third and we’ll see if they score it a triple or a double and a miscue out there. You never know. It’s a aa triple that will be number 10. And so Lyle is now one off the franchise single season record of 11 triples held by Denard Span. That’s going to get the job done a little softy to the right side. That’s Alfaro’s third run batted in and he’s got six hits with the Nets for the right hander Pierce Johnson, one run, two hits for the Nationals in the inning. They leave a bat aboard after eight and it’s up to James Wood to keep it going. The Nationals down to their last strike of game one. Rice said Iglesias career save number 250 he does it through the raindrops in Washington DC and the Braves win it 6 to 3 right now with the guys. And what an afternoon game it was game one of this double header here for the Atlanta Braves final score. Braves six nationals three.

Let’s go Braves good game today
Good win for the Braves today
The Braves are undefeated when:
Ha-Seong Kim scores a run (5-0)
Jose Suarez starts (1-0)
Vidal Bruján has 2+ hits (1-0)
Vidal Bruján has 2+ RBI (1-0)
Matt Olson extends his streak to 4 straight games with a homer and gets his season total to 27. He'll have a chance to do something truly special later today and get even closer to the big 30, Chop On 🪓
How is Suarez even a pitcher for us, he was knocked around from the 1st pitch
Let's go Braves
What A Game for Jose Suarez
Please stay Ha Seong Kim!
🎉 yes !!! * way to go braves ⚾🧢
Too little too late! But its good to see our bats are coming alive! Obviously injury has been the clouding factor this year. But I saw alot of fight and scrappy games showing they don't like not being in 1st!
Let’s go braves keep on winning please boys and good job braves and Matt Olson
We Need to keep it going
Braves win without Acuna, Ozuna, or Riley.
HS Kim is terrible…………….yet he is 10x better than Allen who spent way way way to much time in the starting lineup of this team. Look at how much more production you have gotten from Kim in 2 weeks than you did with Allen in an entire season. Shame on you braves front office.
Braves have a winning record since August 1st. Too bad we can't start this year over again.
Sit down Captain Obvious 😂 7:50
5:48 Great Running Throw Ha seong kim💪
Doubleheader call up
Classic Braves game. Good jobs!
Do we hate our own booth? Does anyone know why we have to listen to the enemy broadcast on our own highlights channel? Im genuinely curious….
Well, if all the other teams were as bad as the Nationals we could be W.S. contenders.
