Tom Brady Says Aaron Rodgers Is The GOAT Ball Thrower In NFL History?! | Pat McAfee Show
Speaking of Tom Brady, Bruce, Tom Brady says Aaron Rogers is the best ball thrower of all time. Is that BS or no BSBA? That’s a little BS cuz Aaron can spin it, but I nobody can spin it better than Dan Maro. I’m a little more biased toward Johnny. I’m a little older. I thought he was the greatest passer of all time. Okay, so Johnny because of how old you were whenever you saw it. Like for instance, there’s a nostalgia thing with Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan changed basketball so much. But when we were watching the Last Dance, people that didn’t watch the NBA back then were like, “Okay, obviously basketball was at a much different spot before Michael Jordan and then after Michael Jordan.” Was Johnny United a trailblazer with how he threw the ball like Ray Guy was with punting for instance. Oh yeah. Ray Guy Ray Guy started turning those things over and it was like who who what is this guy now? Everybody does that. But is that the same thing you’re thinking for Johnny Unidas or was it just like elite ball throwing ability? He was just a great passer of the football. And there’s one thing is throwing the football and passing the football. It’s different. Passers don’t necessarily have great velocity. They have great accuracy. Joe Montana didn’t have great velocity. Just super accurate on time. Knew when where he was going all the time. Uh but for me, I have to say Danny Marino. Pittsburgh guy. I’m okay with you saying that. Yeah, Pittsburgh Italian guy getting after it. His quick release was obviously what everybody chats about, but what what else was it? Every He had velocity. He had accuracy. You know, when I first started coaching, Don St. I backed up Don Stro in college and he’s down there with the Dolphins and I go down to practice and I was like, “Holy this guy’s better than I thought he was.” Well, cuz Don has spent Don led the nation in passing in college and we played seven games in the rain at Virginia Tech and so like this guy’s battling mother nature now. He was doing great. Yeah. And then it’s like what I thought Don was great. I see Danny, I say, “Oo, this a different level.” Okay, so Aaron Rogers is in the conversation. Oh, he’s in the conversation because I think Aaron can throw it any different way he wants to throw and he’s got that little flick that that’s just so special. Um Jordan Love kind of copied it and Jordan’s getting pretty dag on good, too. But what do you think about Aaron with the Pittsburgh Steelers? Obviously, you know the Pittsburgh Steelers very well. Yeah, I I uh it’s an upgrade. It’s an upgrade for me. I I just, you know, they better protect him. They better protect him. They didn’t protect Russell. They better protect him. You worried about that offensive line? It sounds like he’s young. Let’s go to uh one half of the hammer. Don Cowboys over in hammer. Don. Don. Ladies and gentlemen, AP Tone. AP Tone. How you doing, buddy? Good to see you. How you guys doing? Doing good. Hey, he said Aaron Rogers needs to be protected or it doesn’t matter who’s playing quarter. That’s basically what you just said right there, BA. Exactly. Yeah, it’s an upgrade certainly, but if we can’t protect him, who cares is what BA just said. Coach is not wrong. That is that is the number one concern going into the season with with the whole team. Uh but last year’s number one over or number one pick for the Steelers, Troy Fatano, who was hurt most of last year but looked great. He’s back at right tackle. Brick Jones is back at left tackle where he belongs. Frasier’s at center and then you know they got two guards. McCormack was a rookie last year. So they’re they’re all they’re very young. They’re all one year older. They’re all they’re talented. Um, but you know, I the thing with Aaron is too like he’s at least how I feel that he’s going to get them in the right looks. Like he’s going to like he is going to check into the right play always and forever. So I feel like just Aaron being back there and no disrespect to Russ and it’s not like Russ wasn’t a veteran quarterback, but I just trust Aaron to always make the right decision and he Aaron knows that. So I I feel like Aaron’s Aaron and Ry Smith are going to have a plan for that. Do you agree with what he just said there? You think getting in the right position helps? And will RD Smith understand that maybe the offensive line isn’t having a great Can you play call out of a bad offensive line? Um, we’ve had a bunch of injuries in the past. We knew who we had to protect. You know, go back to Andrew’s rookie year. Oh yeah. You know who get who got hurt? McGlenn and and AQ got to go and block Sue. Let’s give him a little help. But I tell you what, Q blocked his ass the whole game. Yes, he certainly did. And then he got a job for the next 10 years because of it. Uh, and that’s certainly a reason why AQ absolute dog head. Had to do it. Had the opportunity. Had to get those short little arms 29 in. Had to get those things out there before just getting eaten alive. I appreciate the fact though that right now Steelers fans feel as if they can win a Super Bowl. And I think that’s a good thing to have before the season, right Tone? Yes, absolutely. 100%. Okay. Now, I don’t know if everybody else feels that way, especially with how stacked the AFC is, but making that move and all the other moves that they made. They pay DAFF 30 million or DK Mechaf 30 million a year. He’s never been a Steeler before. They bring in Jaylen, they pay him. John Smith, they bring him in. Darius Slay, they bring him in. Feels like the Steelers are going all in. Very abnormal for how the Steelers have always been run. But Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan making these massive plays. They obviously want to go win a damn thing. They want to bring seven into that building. I I think Omar’s doing a great job and uh and and yeah, they’re all in. There’s no doubt about it. They they put a lot of cash out there, some older players, some veteran players, and uh proof is always in the pudding. They got a tough ass division. I mean, they got to face Bro twice. You know, it’s that ain’t easy. Lamar Lamarice Lamar has not been brought up by Joe Montana. I thought Lamar was going to be I I for sure like as Joe is I was like definitely going to be picking Lamar here. Josh Allen. Okay. Joey Burroughs probably because they get a lot of similarities. a lot of conversation about those two being similar and then Justin Herbert coming out of nowhere it was like hey that was the one that surprised me that was the one that surprised me and he can he should be there big oh he’s got it all he’s got it all what happens just it’s all the pieces around you brother I mean quarterbacks get the blame and they get all the credit where he played all those years he had a great defense and he had Bill put players around him you know Payton same thing we started out really bad and we start putting up players on defense and build that whole thing. And you’re saying it’s a team sport, huh? Yes. That’s the beauty of the game. Ah.

Rogers is great though … he deserves a lot of credit that he doesn’t get.💯
yeah i’m sorry aaron is sm better than the other qbs like dan marino and it’s not close he is the most accurate qb of all time it’s amazing where he puts it and it’s so stupid to say a different er qb is better than
Farce threw it better
Not Sheduer?
Peyton manning had the worst ball in history but it was accurate.. Joe flacco has best spiral all time no arguement
Aaron Rodgers biggest issue in the last years with Green Bay was he never went for those 50:50 throws cos he hated interceptions. That being said he was so good, he threw epic passes so often because he was so accurate they weren't even considered risky for him. And I've never seen another player throw that kind of spiral
Not even close to GOAT material.
The Steelers have 0 chance of winning a playoff game. Over here talkin about they can win a SB lmao
I'd like to see an offence do with a QB kinda' like what baseball does with most pitchers — have the starter take a rest (if plenty ahead) by the 7th inning per se (perhaps the 3rd quarter or so) and then let the newer QB close — I know most want to get in the record books; however it'd be good for an older QB like Rodgers maybe (IDK) and also get the team better prepared for what-if scenarios — has any team done this before for a season?
Joe Montana better than both them and Marino is that man bro
Hasn't won a championship in 15 years lol
ive seen tape from every qb you can think of and Rodgers is just different he can make any throw from any angle even falling down. no one else could match him at his peak.
Dan Marino for ball thrower IMO
But I can see Aaron too
Marino is the GOAT for ball thrower. Rodgers is a diva and a spoiled rotten dude. Won't take him long to piss off every coach in Pittsburgh.
If by saying goat you mean washed, sure.
Just refresh to avoid commercials. Might take one or four times, but at least you do not have to hear some BS of something you have no interest in spending your money on.
Lame arm has had 3 seasons with 3,000 + in 7 years, not worth much of a conversation 😂
Sorry but Aaron might be a Steeler but Big Ben in his prime was way better than Aaron. Who leads in the most 500+ yard games?
Tom can’t say himself. But he placed the ball so well. Nobody got injured except gronk but that was after the catch yards. Brady was so damn good
So pat how does it feel too wear your MUZZLE around your mouth because of your OWNER lmao tisk tisk I guess you took the TREAT/MONEY ohhh well gl little boy
A-Rod is killing it with the Steelers
Talking about protecting rodgers. So far he has been sacked by the jets 3 times
Tom too humble
Marino and Unitas are both from Pittsburgh PA.
There is no doubt in my mind that Aaron is the best thrower in the last 25 years
So I'm not surprised Brady said it
The only thing he might not have is the leadership and high pressure composure.
But pure throwing he's the best I have seen to eve throw the ball
I grew up in Wisconsin and we were Packers' fans. But, Johnny Unitas was my dad's quarterback.
I’m here after Rodgers and Ramsey said my STEELERS are coming for the AFC North!!!
Heard Unitas name and clicked off the video
Dan Marino I agree.
He beat the jets, barely! Loser! He'll lose this team by week 5 because of his arrogance! It was the jets! Hahahahaha!
Rodgers is the best pure thrower ever, Marino has the quickest release ever and Unitas is the godfather of the QB position
Who cares just catch the ball
Johny U was a Pittsburgh guy too..
He’s the BOAT, not the GOAT
Comparing MJ to Johnny Unitis is crazy. Maybe Bill Russell but drop MJ in any era and there’s a negative skill gap. He’s better.
Definitely best ball thrower. Dude has 3 hail marys. I mean the dude has pin point accuracy.
So hard to go against Marino but Rodgers does have awesome arm
I’m a dolphins fan Dan the man has the best quickest release ever but Aaron Rodgers is the greatest pure thrower of the ball and his back shoulder throw on the run is crazy!
Favre better but still Aaron is legit
The people giving Tom Brady push back on his take on Aaron Rodgers are hilarious. Don’t they say Tom is the GOAT? So the “GOAT” says Aaron is the best arm in history, and now his take is invalid because y’all don’t agree? 😂
Brady is the GOAT. No one throws the ball right now like Josh Allen does
Get that boomer outta there Rodger’s is the best thrower of the football by a mile 😂
I gave Brady his flowers, and he looked out for Rodger.
If the person they say is better than you is Dan Marino…. your doing just fine
Medical science shows that the 2nd year after a tendon rupture is a big year. That is when the player is fully recovered and feels complete. Atlanta were too hasty with Cousins, but Pittsburgh did EXACTLY the right thing with Rodgers. He is still in his peak and he's going to show it. I just wish they had invested in the O-Line. It doesn't matter though. Rodgers has a point to prove and goals. He's better than Russell all day long. Even getting sacked 8 times a game, he's going to take the Steelers further than they have been since Ben.
Omar is the man. Absolutely love everything this man has done for this organization and this city. Omar for president. Lol
I wonder who will be drafted to replace JLove ina few years
