Oh, this chart is gonna make some people *really mad*.
Not that long ago Mahomes YPG was just a hair over 300, to fall by 12 yards relatively quickly just highlights how ugly our offense has been the last two years.
Patrick Mahomes plays in a more quarterback friendly era than the others guys. I would love to see the era adjusted numbers.

Brady is not in the hall of fame? Wtf
Gee… This Patrick Mahomes guy might be pretty decent.
I don’t know, though… jury is still out.
What I would do to be able to see him with Cincinnatis receiving group

I dunno, I still don’t think he has what it takes. /s
Having the greatest offensive mind of the 21st century and arguably the best 1-2 combo of Kelce and Hill in their prime for 5 years inflates these numbers a bit. It will be very interesting how Mahomes career stats evolve in next 7-8 years
How does it compare to Allen, Lamar and Burrow?
Edit: It’s not an equal comparison since the other 3 are not yet 30 and don’t have as many games, but still a good comparison.
Adding in his rushing Yds, it looks pretty indisputable he is the best QB up to the age of 30. Obviously the record books will need more time to see how long he can keep up this level of play.
Now compare the rest of our QBs since Dawson, excluding Montana, to Mahomes.
As long as the line holds up, Mahomes can pick defenses apart..
The rush yards are crazy compared to the other 3
14 rush TDs? That feels really low.
They can never take this away from us!
Turnover Tom is retired and isn’t even in the hall of fame 😂. Can you imagine?
Would have been 4 SB if a certain someone hadn’t lined up offside in 2018.
Dude thru age 30… is Peyton Manning with Tom Brady Hardware
He gets to 5SB wins and 15 AFC Champ Games. He’s got the best career in NFL history. Guy turned Brady into LeBron while casually Jordaning
I honestly can’t believe how the last 7 years have went as a chiefs fan… It feels surreal. For 25+ years I would have told you this franchise was absolutely cursed and will never win a super bowl but at least they’re fun to watch some years… And now, this. I’m in my 40s now and as much as I’d love to see more success it feels so good that I got to see them have the run they had. Pretty fuckin cool.
The rules have changed to favor offenses so these comparisons need to be normalized, basically by taking into account the increases in league average offensive stats over time
Averaging 40ypg less passing the last 2 seasons while still throwing roughly the same amount.. Really feels like we’re wasting some of his prime seasons by putting absolute garbage around him at most all skill positions, and shaky OL.
Mahomes in his 20s obviously burns brightest. I’m looking forward on what his stats are in his 30s.
I hope Mahomes has a second act like Brady, but it isn’t destiny. A lot of it will depend on what Veach can put around him and the coaches he’ll play for.
