Dallas Cowboys Injury News Ft. Tyler Guyton & Trevon Diggs + DeMarvion Overshown Injury Timeline

[Music] What’s up Cowboys fans? Chris Dotrey here filling in for Tom Downey for the rest of the week. Coming up on today’s show, De Marvian Overshon broke down a possible timeline to return for his injury and we’re also going to break down the Wednesday practice report and take a look at some of the injuries this week during Cowboys practice. Before we get into that though, I want to ask you guys make sure you like today’s video for me right now. Currently, right now in the month of September in our NFC East like battle, we are ahead, but not that far ahead from Eagles. Now, they could do that in just a couple of videos. So, make sure you get down there and like today’s video so we can stay number one here at Chat Sports among all of our NFC East teams. All right. So yesterday, Demarian Overshon gave a bit of an update on when he might be able to return from that ACL injury that he suffered in week 14 last season. Obviously, that was the second time w in his Cowboys career that he ended up tearing that ACL, plus a couple other ligaments in that knee as well. Remember back in his rookie season during the preseason, he also tore it then. And the hope is that the Cowboys can get him back around Thanksgiving for that Chiefs game. Now, Overshon when he was talking to reporters at an event that he was doing yesterday said he might actually be able to get back before that timeline for him. This was during a um he was doing he was packing toys and supplies for uh you know victims of that July central uh Texas flooding. And he had this to say about his injury timeline. He said, “I don’t want to say that Thanksgiving is necessarily the target date, but I feel like I’ll be playing football before Thanksgiving with the team.” So, does that mean he’s going to be back to practice or, you know, does that mean he is actually going to be playing games with the Cowboys? Just wait. I guess we’re just going to have to wait and see on that. But hopefully, it kind of sounds like to me from that that he’s going to end up being back and playing hopefully before that Thanksgiving game. So, I want to hear from you guys down at the pinned comment of today’s video. Will Demarian Overshon be back for that Thanksgiving day uh Thanksgiving game. Type B if you think if you think he’ll be back before that game, or type A if you think it’s going to be end up after that game. Let me know what you guys think down in the pin comment of today’s video. All right. He went on a little bit to talk about just kind of the rehab process that he’s going through right now. He said, “I’m getting there. It’s definitely to a point where we’re getting the last clearance from my surgeon and now it’s just easing me back into playing football. The knee is healthy. I am moving around fast and strong and it’s uh just about being smart with this timing right now. That’s a big thing because this Cowboys linebacker room like they’ve been okay I guess especially, you know, helping out in the run game, but man, when you’re asking some of these guys to help in, you know, coverage, they’re not doing very good at all. You know, Kenneth Murray was, you know, I I don’t necessarily want to blame it on him or one of the safeties, but somebody was the problem on one of those deep throws during the um during that game against the Giants last week. I think Maurice Leafoul has played pretty well, but man, you really need to get Demarian Overshon back as soon as you possibly can because when you’re looking at this Cowboys linebacker room right now, I think he’s definitely the best player in that linebacker room. We’ll continue talking a little bit more about Demarian Overshon, plus the injury report here in just a second. But first, today’s show is sponsored by Prize Picks. It’s also going to be down in the description of today’s show as well. Prize picks, it’s good to be right. All right, so back to this Demarian Overton conversation here, man. Last year he was I mean arguably your best player on the defensive side of the ball. I might be you know kind of mistaken on this uh but I think he was leading the team in tackles when he ended up getting hurt in that game. Eight TFLs, 90 tackles, five sacks, also had a pick six as well during the season and also you know had a force fumble and a fumble recovery. So getting Dearb and Overstone back is going to be key for this Cowboys defense. Obviously, you don’t want to rush him back because, you know, that that return to play versus, you know, return to performance, that’s always kind of a wishy-washy thing when it comes to coming back from an ACL injury, especially your second ACL injury in two years here in the NFL. You can see this picture right here from John Machoda, U Demarian Overshon. This was from September 10th, so about a week ago here. He’s been wearing that sleeve on his leg pretty much since he’s able to, you know, get back and do some onfield stuff. But then Garrett Ple from CBS Sports also posted this photo today. Does not have that leg sleeve on. He also added it’s the first time in forever since he’s seen him without that leg sleeve. So very positive update I think there on Demar and Oversh. still going to be a while obviously before the Cowboys do end up getting him back, but just continuously seeing this progress here for Demar and Overshone. I think that’s a very positive thing. And you know, according to him, there might be even a chance that he gets back before that Wednesday uh before that uh Thanksgiving game, excuse me. All right, make sure you guys are subscribed right here to the Cowboys Report. Tom is going to be back for Cowboys versus Bears watch party this weekend. So, do not miss out. If you miss Tom and you haven’t been subscribed right here to the Cowboys Report, make sure you get down there and hit that sub button. It’s youtube.com/cowboystv. All right, let’s get into the Wednesday injury report here. Let’s start with our two cornerbacks here. There were only four players for the Cowboys listed on the injury report. Don Bland, he did not practice with that foot injury today. would not expect him to end up going in this game. You know, according to what Jerry Jones said the other day, next week is probably more of the realistic timeline to get him back. And then Trayvon Diggs did not practice today, but no real injury designation. Just said he was kind of dealing with an illness there. So, um I would assume he’s probably also going to be fine, but you know, kind of like we said in, you know, past videos, Trayvon Diggs, I don’t necessarily know, has, you know, yet, you know, gotten to 100% yet. you know, sure he’s out there. Sure, he’s playing, but you know, he still looks a little bit slow at times and, you know, that’s just, you know, one of the things when you’re coming back from injury. You look at this Cowboys quarterback room right now and you have more players that are hurt than you actually do healthy. So, there still might be a real chance this week that you have to end up calling up uh, you know, Zion Childress andor Robert Relle again to that active game day roster. So, we’ll see what happens there. But Don Bland not practicing today. He’s probably not going to be playing in the game. Trayvon Diggs did not practice today, but he was only out with an illness. So, I would expect him to be good to go this weekend. So, there’s a lot of players right now injured in this Cowboys cornerback room. What is your concern level over the quarterback injuries right now? Let me know what you guys think down in the comments. Scale it 1 to 10. One on the low end, 10 on the high end. Let me know what you guys think. All right, two more injury designations listed on today’s practice report. Tyler Gayton was also limited with a shoulder today. Um, usually when these guys are limited, it means that they’re probably going to be good to go. They’re probably just nursing an injury that happened, you know, throughout the game and throughout the weekend. Um, you know, coming into today’s practice. Anyways, they were going through a walkth through, so it wasn’t a full practice. And Cavate Turpin also was only limited today with that neck injury. So, uh it seems like, you know, he is trending in a good direction as well to be able to get back for this Cowboys versus Bears game coming up here at the end of the week. [Music]

  1. I had all the resecpt for both Diggs and Bland there are good players. They can't stay on the FN field us the fans thought we would have the best in the league. But all we get is the same old shit every year. It's time to move on from them they were great for 1 or 2 years it will never work I'm tired of it so are a lot of other fans. I hope they prove me wrong got props for both of them. DCFL.

  2. IT SEEMS THE WEEK PA PLAYER GETS TAOSTED ON THE FIELD, THE NEXT WEEK THEY ARE ON THE INJUY LIST, IS THIS AN EXCUSE, IT SURE SEEMS LIKE IT. I SUCKED BECAUSE I GOT HURT, PLEASEEEE! THANKS FOR THE REPORT. WE NEED OVERSHOWN, SANBORN HAS NOT BEEN VERY GOOD.

  3. Overshown or overhyped this guy's been hurt or never plays since we drafted him! When is he going to finally contribute to this team? Or is this his future and should the Cowboys move on?

  4. 2026 Dallas Cowboys mock draft: #1.13 QB John Mateer 6'1 225 Oklahoma, #1.32 DT A'Mauri Washington 6'3 330 Oregon. Mateer is fearless and moving up the chart. A Texas native leading the Cowboys for the next decade.
