Beyond the Baseline at Barry Farm
[Music] It’s been a blast working with the Wizards. Like I’ve done some projects in the past, but it’s it’s really cool doing stuff out of the, you know, like just in the environment, you know? I think it’s cool to get like actual fine art and, you know, stuff that may not be so corporately branded out there in the world. I think it’s been great. As far as special elements, I I really just wanted something really impactful, something really typographical, you know, something you can see from a distance, really understand like the area where you are. I did a different effect where, you know, colors over overlapped and overlaced. And I was trying to think through the starting point for a piece like this. When I think about culture, it’s really kind of where where the edges touch. So, it’s like where music and fashion touch that might be shooters or madness, right? And so, that’s how I think about culture. And so, it’s like it’s like where the edges touch of disperate things like, you know, people, culture, you know, shared histories. And so I thought about the colors overlapping in a similar path. Our community based murals program is a program where we take kids from our art gallery and our schoolbased sites and we do murals in communities. We usually start six and seven murals at a time and we pair our youth up with other public artists. So this particular time we get the great opportunity to work with Brandon and the kids are excited to come. This is actually our summer camp pool that we use at Bur Farm for our murals based summer camp. So this is really cool and everybody’s really excited. This means a lot for our organization to do something with the Washingtons. We’re excited to interact with the players, to interact with the wall, to interact with the community.
