SEVEN scoreless, TWELVE strikeouts for Blake Snell 😤😤 (You’ve got to see his last strikeout)

On the mound for the Dodgers, Blake Snell. He struck out a season high 11 over six scoreless innings his last time against the Rockies. And that was a nice bounceback performance for him after he gave up five in Pittsburgh. Comes home with a one-two pitch and strikes out. Schwarber sticking with the hard stuff. Taking it up to 96 mph. Elevates this pitch. And for Kyle Schwarber, he’s thinking, “Okay, everything I’m going to see is probably middle away instead up and in.” Blake Snell is in the strike zone less than anybody in the National League. In this first inning though, eight pitches, seven of them strikes and he retires the side in order. Here’s a two- two to Castianos and a swing and a miss for strike three. R the third for Snell fifth swing and miss too there on the breaking ball. Beautiful job late Ben and that’s three Ks for more. You’re getting a free jumbo jack. top five chase rate in baseball. Leads the majors in swing and miss and relies on that chase because there’s only one pitcher in the National League that is in the strike zone less. Here he comes with a 2-2. Strikes him out with a nasty slider. He’s using that pitch more tonight with these left-handers. They have now the one-two pitch. Nasty, nasty curveball for strike three and already his fifth K. the two and a third innings right now. Just the variance of where he’s thrown this pitch. Both sides of the plate, the depth that he gets. He’ll throw it in the zone, out of the zone, just so hard to tell once you start your swing. Is this going to be a strike or is it going to be a ball and a swing and miss? Another one for Blake Snow. It’s been such a great pitch cuz we talk a lot about his curveball, even a slider the last couple years, but the change up is now been an added piece of another go-to putaway pitch for him, but it’s been a different change up than we’ve seen the last few years. That is four consecutive Ks and already six total for Blake Snell. It’s been so fun to watch starting pitching in this series. And Blake Snell just continues this stretch of dominance. Deuce is wild in the third. Two on, two out and a two to Schwarz. A curve that rains down for strike three. Seven Ks for Blake Snell over three scoreless innings. And how about this starting staff? But when he’s fallen out of that, when he’s been unable to sustain it, it’s been because there’s been too much of that. Blake Snell’s got eight KS over four scoreless innings. Blake’s got a no hitter on his resume last August in Cincinnati. 11 strikeout no over the Reds. There’s two two to Kepler is a curve that swung through and missed. That is nine Ks for Blake Snell in 20 in his last two starts. And how about the curve ball getting over 70% of those strikeouts. I mean, you see how he’s utilized it. Snell on the verge of double digit KS. There it is right there. Finishes off Wilson with a change up. You’re not going to need that anymore anyways. He’s down on strikes and Blake Snell has 10ks over five scoreless halfway home in a three nothing game with an exclamation point. [Music] There’s one two to Bader got a chase for strike three and his 11th strike out of the game. That is backto back 11k performances for Snell. Joe, look at where this ball ends up. And the reason Harrison Bader is chasing it is because how it looks like you can hit it. It bounces in front of home plate. Here’s his 3-1. That’s backto back walks with two gone in the seventh. And the Phillies get the tying run to the plate here. They’re going to have Rodfett go out to talk to him. Otto Kemp is due up. No, just his emotions, his passion. You can tell how bad he wants this. Get through seven innings. Does not want to come out of this game. Well, you know, he knows what the visit is for. It’s to buy a little time for Vessie to get a few more throws in. And usually this is followed by Dave Roberts coming out making the change. the body language. Oh, here he comes. And this is not going to be a popular no sight for this Dodger Stadium crowd. Blake Snell’s telling him, “Uh-uh, stay back there.” Yeah, I got it. Does this not have all the Tampa Bay Yeah. flashbacks to the World Series against the Dodgers. He did not want to come out. How about that? Yeah, in this situation, you can’t. Vessie was already headed out there. Get back there, Alex. Play left field. He was already past left field. I think everybody kind of reading the room right here. Blake Snell knowing that his team needs this. Dave Roberts looking his pitcher in the eye and saying, “You got it.” Tying run at the plate. Two gone in the seven. Blake Snell asks for this opportunity and goes to work. Started him with a change that miss low. Ball two. kind of feel like Otto Kemp’s just straight take right now. Maybe not. Would have been the one to hit though. If you’re swinging two out, pitcher is trying to find the strike zone. You decide to greenlight yourself, you’re looking fast ball. He misses it. He’s late. Two on, two out. Three nothing game. Top of the seventh. Snell to Kemp with a 2-1. Curve grounded by the bag. Foul. Strike two. Oh, does this not feel like a ninth inning October? I mean, just Plants wants this so bad for his team, for this bullpen. Zilla delivers. He finishes off seven scoreless innings with his 12th strike out of the night.

9/17/25: Blake Snell picks up 12 strikeouts against the Phillies across seven scoreless innings and convinces manager Dave Roberts to let him stay in the game before striking out his 12th batter!!!!

  1. Snell's determination to firmly reject Roberts' attempts to stop him🔥
Snell taught us to trust and believe in our players!
Applause for Benjamin Rortvedt, who showed great hitting and blocking today, walking off the mound arm-in-arm with Cy Young!

  2. His greatest achievement today wasn’t the 12 strikeouts, but refusing the pitching change.
He understood better than anyone what could happen if he didn’t finish it himself.

  3. スネルがロバーツからの交代宣告を拒否してからの相手バッター、三振。
    大谷翔平選手へフィリーズが左投手のズラルドをそのまま対戦という戦略に対してのホームラン。
    このゲーム最高でした!

  4. Despite losing the series, LAD are looking good. Their starting pitchers are starting to peak. All the hitters are waking up. The injuries almost over. Just need to tweak that bullpen a little.
