Cincinnati Reds Beat St. Louis Cardinals 6-2, Terry Francona Reacts

few games with injury and comes back and drives in five. And I don’t think he felt great out there. But I’ll tell you what, he played a really good game. And I mean, I even said to him, you know, the other night when he didn’t play the second night, I said, “Hey, man, you’re not, you know, you’re not playing.” He goes, “I’ll be ready.” And that’s what pros do. How much credit can you give to the guys that walked ahead of him and how much does that affect the pitch that he got? I I hope a lot. I think you raised a good point. It’s kind of kind of amazing. Yeah. I mean, if when when we swing at strikes, when we earn strikes, better things happen. What’ you see from Singer today? I thought he was good. You know, we he had to pitch around a kind of a big air. Um, but he he was good and he I think he probably had enough to get through that last hitter. I just felt like it being a left-hander, Ashcraft was a good guy to bring in because he was fresh. Had a decision there to go with the kid for three or bring in Pagan. We did. We talked we talked about it pretty much the whole way. Um the thought was one if he soon as somebody gets on, we got to get Pagan up. So if you’re going to get Pagan up, Pagan’s pitched once in the last eight days. And this kid only threw 26 pitches. So we don’t have to sit him as long. That was the idea. Singer’s really finishing strong. I know what I think, but I mean, how do you describe what he’s done for you guys? I think he’s really finishing strong. I I I agree. I mean, you know what? I think when we were in spring training, we said he’s he’s thrown 160 innings every year. He keeps you in a game. You look up in the sixth or seventh inning, and that’s exactly what he’s done. And and to his credit, he has he has kind of got a second wind, which is really good.
