Baltimore Orioles @ Chicago White Sox | LIVE! Play-by-Play & Commentary | 9/17/25 | Game #152

called to see if she’d like to go to see a show, but Miss Kate said no. I’ll tell you what you can do. Take me out to the ball game. Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and crackers, Jack. I don’t care if I never get back. Let me root. Root root for the home team. If they don’t win, it’s a shame. It’s one, two, three strikes. You’re out at the old ball game. [Music] Ky Casey saw all the games, knew the players by their first names, told the umpire he was wrong all along, good and strong. When the score was just two to two, Casey Casey knew what to do. Just to cheer up the boys she knew, she made the gang sing this song. Take me out to the ball game. Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and crack a jack. I don’t care if I never get back. Let me root root root for the home team. If they don’t win, it’s a shame. For it’s one, two, three strikes. You’re out at the old ball game. [Music] Nice beaver. Thank you. Greetings, folks, and welcome to live coverage of Orioles baseball, where this afternoon the Baltimore Orioles will be playing the final game of a three-game series here at Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois, taking on the Chicago White Socks. Uh the Orioles are looking for a sweep uh after winning last night. But uh with last night came some uh bad news. Uh news we already were prepared for, but it was official. Despite winning last night, the Orioles uh due to some other results around the league uh were officially eliminated from playing October baseball. Uh it’s official and we saw it coming so nobody should be uh in shock with the news but uh it is now official. We have 11 games left to play. We have a maybe 5% chance of pulling off something crazy and finishing this season without a losing record. We can only afford to lose one more game over the last 11. Uh today’s a good way to keep the win streak going. And starting tomorrow night, we return home for our final home stand. Seven games, four against the Yankees, three against Tampa, and then the season ends with three more games against the Yankees in the Bronx. So, uh the season is winding down and uh we’re playing the Yankees seven times. So, uh, there may not be a whole lot to play for. We are going to try to work our way out of last place. Two games behind the Rays. Three games left to play head-to-head. That is pretty much the only uh achievement uh this team can reach for in these final days. Uh, right. Let me open up the Twitter feed. I haven’t taken I don’t think there are any major notes. Uh, we have confirmed the starters for the Yankees series. I’m not sure if anything changed since I went over this yesterday, but just in case, here it is officially. Uh, Cade Povich will start tomorrow night against Max Freed in game one against the Yankees. Freed has had an outstanding season. He’s 17 and5 with a 3.03 ERA. In game two, Trevor Rogers will be on the mound for us going up against Will Warren. I kind of wish it would have worked out where Rogers and Freed went headto-head. That would have been exciting. But Rogers will face Will Warren in game two. Tomyuki Sagano uh who’s got 10 wins tied with Dean Kramer for the team lead. Uh he will face Carlos Rodon on Saturday. And then the finale on Sunday, Kyle Bradish up against Cam Schlitter. Uh there are your four matchups on the mound coming up this weekend at home against the Yankees. And folks, I know you got plenty of reason to not do it, but uh if you are in the Baltimore area, go on out there for this Yankee series. Don’t let the crowd uh become a majority Yankee crowd. I know you got your reasons to be upset with the team, with the organization, and uh many other things, but uh it’s the Yankees. You got to show up. All right, so get on out to the ballpark. I don’t mind if you miss hanging out with me if it means you’re going to be over at the ballpark. Okay, so let’s take a look at the uh pitching matchup today and the starting lineups for these two teams. as the Orioles again trying to sweep the White Socks after winning the first two games uh 4 to one on Monday and 8-7 last night. Just just hanging in there uh after nearly giving up a giant lead. Uh but we did escape with the win. Uh on the mound, it’s going to be Tyler Wells. I believe this is his uh third start since returning from injury. He’s looked good in his first two starts. A record of 1 and0, a 2.31 erra. The whip is outstanding at just60 as he’s given up just six hits and one walk over 11 and 2/3 innings. He has given up a couple of home run balls, but uh that’s just uh how it goes. If you’re an oral starting pitcher, can we avoid giving up an early home run ball to the opponent? uh seems to be something that’s been difficult to to achieve. Uh Martin Perez, a left-hander veteran, will be on the mound for the White Socks. He has a record of 1 and5. Uh decent numbers despite the bad record. 3.27 RA and a 1.05 whip. That’s over 52 and a third innings. Just 35 hits in those 52 and a third. But he has issued 20 walks. Uh 20 walks. It’s a lot. Uh five home run balls. He gives up about one every 10 innings. Uh so that’s your pitching matchup. A lefty Perez, the righty Wells. For the Orioles, here’s the batting order. Jackson Holiday will lead off and play at second base. Jordan Westberg gets his first start in the field since returning from injury. He came back last night to DH. He’s at third base today hitting second. Gunnar Henderson will bat third and play shorts stop. Tyler O’Neal will DH and be the cleanup hitter. Jeremiah Jackson and Jeremiah Jackson is in right field batting fifth. Kobe Mayo will hit sixth and be at first base. Dylan Beavers will bat seventh, played left field. Alex Jackson behind the plate today hitting eighth. Uh Sammy Basio, I think we can all agree after yesterday’s uh performance uh doing the catching could probably use a mental health day. So Basio not in the lineup. Uh and uh we’re facing a lefty anyway, so probably a good chance to give him a give him a break. Jackson will hit eighth and do the catching. And folks, you know how I feel about it, but what evs. Uh, Jorge Matteo is in center field. Jorge Matteo is in center field and batting ninth. I apologize for Baltimore. I know. I know. I apologize for Baltimore. Before the ball game, Manelina was asked about his thoughts about playing Jorge Mateo in center field. So, it’s it’s not the best option, but it just is what it is. Ah, well that makes sense. So I know you might want to give Colton Cowser a day off. No thought of maybe I don’t know playing Dylan Carlson in center field, somebody who’s actually an outfielder or So it’s it’s not the best option, but it just is what it is. Okay. Okay. All right. Well, I mean, you’re telling me I mean, if it is what it is, then there’s really no argument to be had. Uh, David, after yesterday, I wouldn’t even DH Sammy again. It’s a lefty on the mound. Just give him a mental day off. Yesterday was a disaster for Bisio. Uh, it was a disaster. I would have rather him sitting in the dugout the entire game, hopefully with a coach sitting next to him talking about some pointers about how to prevent wild pitches from getting away. Uh, it nearly cost us the game last night. despite having what a six-run lead at one point. Uh give him the day off. I’m okay with it. He’s been uh he’s been in the lineup pretty much every day lately. Uh it’s not crazy for him to have a day off. It’s a day game after a night game. He’s caught the first two games of the series. We’ll see him tomorrow night, I’m sure. Well, maybe I shouldn’t say that. Left-handed Max Freed will start. Maybe he won’t. I don’t know. But, uh, yeah, Bessiah is gonna get back in the lineup. I don’t think he’ll be sat for back-to-back games. But, uh, today felt like a good day to give him a give him a seat. And don’t forget, folks, it’s always nice to have a bat like that on your bench late in the ball game if you need it. Uh, yeah. Uh, sorry about that, Chilo. You just got the news. So, it’s it’s not the best option, but it just is what it is. Uh that’s Manscelino’s explanation for Matteo playing center field. So it’s it’s not the best option, but it just is what it is. Uh for the White Socks leading off playing second base, Chase Midroth. Mike Tman is the DH hitting second. Miguel Vargas will bat third and play third base. Coulson Montgomery is the cleanup hitter at shortstop. Edgar Quero gets his first start behind the plate after dhing the first two games. He hits fifth. Lenin Sosa at first. Basel bats sixth. Uh, is that Will Robert? What is his name? Will Robertson. Danger. Will Robertson. Danger. Will Robertson. Uh, Will Robertson in left field hitting seventh. Michael A. Taylor, the veteran outfielder playing in center field hitting eighth. And Dominic Fletcher is in right field and batting ninth. All right, first pitch is only two minutes away. Everything up and running, I hope. All right, there is the ball game. Give it a little bit of volume here. Let’s go, folks. 11 games left. We are 71 and 80. Can we go 10 and one? It would be something. Can’t we dream? Can’t we just say it can happen until it can no longer happen? I wouldn’t feel like this if our final 10 games were against, I don’t know, the Twins and the Angels or something, but it’s the freaking Yankees. And I ain’t going out. I ain’t going out quietly, tell you that. Ace Carson Ragsdale was DFAD. Yes, he’s already been off the team longer than he was on the team. The Carson Ragsdale uh situation. Good grief. Good grief. Against the Blue J. I mean, pull that crap against these White Socks. Don’t do it against a division opponent in the final game of a series that if you don’t win, you get swept. I mean, come on, man. That was so bad. All right. Is this a live shot of the ballpark or is this like from an hour ago during batting practice? There are like 25 people here on this uh Wednesday afternoon, midepptember on the south side of Chicago. I have to think the ratio of stadium employees to fans is about one one. So folks, if you’d like to go to a ball game and have your own personal usher, make your way out to rate field in Chicago. I mean, look at this. This looks like a a game. I think there were more game more people at that game in Baltimore where nobody was allowed to show up. [Laughter] Oh my low turnout. If we get 10,000 here, then somebody’s fudging the numbers in the White Socks front office. Uh 80 degrees the weather at game time. Weather’s been nice. All right, we’re ready, folks. First pitch of the ball game. Jackson Holiday is swinging away and he fouls off the first pitch from Martin Perez. We are underway, folks. Final game of this series and final game of this uh road trip here. The 01 holiday is over the plate below one and one the count [Music] right now. This is what the scoreboard looks like. I think it’s warming up. 1-1 is off the plate with a curve ball. Two balls in a strike. Jackson’s hitting 253 coming into today. He’s been on base 17 straight games, which is tied for the sixth longest such streak in baseball right now. Fouls off a 2-1 pitch. The count even at 2 and two. If we crush the Yankees, we can knock them out of the wild card. Yeah, it would have to take that plus some help. I mean, who is the first team on the outside looking in? because for a while now it’s been Yankees, Red Sox, and one of the Mariners or Astros. Whichever one isn’t the division winner looks like the third wild card. So, it would have to take somebody else. And it can’t be Tampa cuz we got to beat them, too. Here’s a pop up to left. The shorts stop racing out toward shallow left makes the catch. Holiday retired for the first out of the ball game. Defensively for Chicago, Robertson in left, Taylor in center, Fletcher in right, Vargas at third, Montgomery at short, Midroth at second, and Sosa at first with Quero behind the plate. Household names, folks. Here’s Westber. First pitch he looks at is a strike. Well, West is that way. Charm City chat. Wow. Is there anybody here who’s a Magic member? Oh, there’s Phantom Chilow swinging a miss. It’s 0 and2. Let’s see those Westber emojis. We may not have much time. He’s got an 02 count. Westber looking for his first hit since coming back. He did get on base with a couple of walks last night. 02 pitch is just a bit low. That was borderline. One ball and two strikes. One out, nobody on. Just getting started. The pitch to Westber is in the dirt. Two and two. 273 the average for Westy. We need to keep him healthy next season. 150 games. I want him in 152 games. Two days off a month. That’s it. Swing and a miss. A change up low and away. And Westber is down on strikes. Two down in the first. Gunner Henderson up next. Couple of hits yesterday for Gunner. average of 272, 16 homers, 64 RBI. First pitch he goes after, fouls it off to the right. I want double digit runs today. I’m greedy. 01 pitch laid is off a pitch low and away. It’s one and one, folks. The sub count has sat at 3500 now for I believe about five days. We had a nice push to get there the night we got there. And it’s as if uh I don’t know, maybe we had too many people sub up that night because now it’s just averaging out. Uh where is everybody? Uh one two pitch to Gunner. That’s hit out toward left center. That ball’s dropping. It’ll get down and pass the left fielder. And Gunner never stops running. Will make it up to second base. A mistake out there in left field. That’s got to go down as an error on Robertson. Danger. Will Robertson. Danger. He just overran a ball and gave up an extra base. That should be a single and an error. And that’s exactly what it is. So, Gunner at second with two down. Tyler O’Neal with an RBI chance. And he swings and misses at the first pitch. Low strike one. O’Neal’s back, folks. remember him? I think I do. Ohoy there. Anybody home? The 01 O’Neal inside. Come on, Tyler. Facing lefties is uh your best attribute. Show us why that’s true, please. One- one pitch. little bit high. Two balls and a strike. These two teams have worn the same uniforms for all three games. Classic uh road or home pinstripes for the White Socks, road grays for the Orioles. The 2-1 is a change up. Swung on and missed. and the count even up at two and two. Uh Texas is three and a half back. Yeah, that’s that’s a lot to do with 11 games to go. So yeah, not only would we have to really take care of business against the Yankees, like I don’t know, win six out of those seven games, Texas is still going to have to play better than 500 ball on top of that. And there’s ball four on a pitch up and in. Tyler O’Neal takes his base. Two men on with two down. I’m walking here. I’m walking here. All right. Jeremiah Jackson gets a chance to be an RBI man here. He’s batting fifth today and he’s got an RBI spot first time up. Two on, two out. Jackson hitting 290. He’s a bullfrog, folks. Takes low for ball one. Perez up over 20 pitches here in the first. Jeremiah’s hitting 344 with runners in scoring position. That ball’s hit hard, but foul down the left line, left field line. I tell you what, Jeremiah Jackson, he’s played in 39 games and he’s got 20 RBI. So basically on pace for an 80 RBI season had he played a full season which would be the team leader. Gunnar Hen did we just have a double steel? The Orioles just double stealed second and third with two down. How about this? And yeah, 24th steel for Gunner. I don’t know how many for O’Neal. And there’s a ground ball on the infield and the White Socks can’t handle it. The third baseman got there to stop the ball from getting through the shortstop trying to back up. Bobbled it. It’s going to be an RBI infield hit for Jeremiah Jackson. And this RBI is helped out with that uh double steel with Gunnar moving up to third and two down. Normally you ask yourself why risk stealing third base with two away. Well, there is an example of why it worked. He comes in on an infield hit. One- nothing Baltimore, folks. First and third with two down for Kobe Mayo. Mayo with a three hit game last night. The 10 is low. 2 and 0. First bugle of the day. [Music] First and third, two down, a run in and the two to Mayo inside. 3 and 0. [Music] Mayo has gotten better at chasing bad pitches monthtomonth here. Three 0 pitch. That ball is hammered. He got the green light on 3 and 0. Unfortunately, a little bit out in front of that one. That ball landing in a section of seats with one old man sitting with no one within 30 seats of him. Folks, if you want a foul ball, go to a White Socks game. We got a 25% chance of getting one. Third steal for O’Neal. Thank you, Chia. 3-1 to Mayo coming up. Pitch outside ball four. They’re loaded up, folks. Hey, look at that. I’m walking here. I’m walking here, [Music] folks. Bases loaded. A chance to blow it open early. Speaking of blowing it open, folks, show me your beavers. Nice beaver. Thank you. Got bush. We’ve got bush. [Music] All right, Beaver Fever. Bases loaded, two down. Beavers with a 275 average, a couple of homers, 11 driven in the OPS looking good at 857. All he does is get on base. And if he does get on base, at least one run is coming in cuz there ain’t nowhere to put him. One- nothing Orioles in the top of the first with the bases loaded, two down. The first pitch to Beavers is low for ball one. Perez can’t find the zone right now. The Orioles are taking more pitches as the graphic mass just flashed would indicate. There’s only two other teams right now averaging seeing more pitches per at bat in the past month than us. That’s a good thing. And folks, we’ve been winning more than losing in that time. It’s almost as if there’s a connection. Beavers hits a ball out to left center. That’s not going to help. It will be caught out there for the final out of the inning. The Orioles leave the bases loaded. Leave them loaded. But we do scratch a run across here in the top of the first to take the early lead. At the end of half an inning, it’s the Orioles one and the White Socks are coming up. You finally looked into Jeremiah’s career. It’s interesting. I guess the book is still out on him long term. Well, Mr. Hyde, you’re kind of teasing something. Elaborate. What do you know? Give us some nice little snippets of information. What do you got? Did he go over 30 pitches? Nice. Yeah, that’s always good. Stranding the bases loaded hurts, but uh making a pitcher throw over 30 pitches and taking a lead uh is a good thing. So, I think we’ll take it. I think we’ll take this. Tyler Wells is coming up. Oh man, Yankees coming to town tomorrow night. Come bring them on. Bring them on, folks. If I call this game today with uh you know, not the level of enthusiasm that you’re used to, just know that I’m doing my best to store as much energy as possible for this final push. the final 10 games after today. I want to be ready. Boy, I hope we play well. Boy, I hope we play well. You like the Yankees, but you love the O’s. Michael, no offense. I’m not sure if those two sentences are possible to be next to one another, but hey, different strokes, different folks. You have every right to root for whoever you want, but I don’t I can’t make sense of that. Here’s a ground ball foul on the left side. First pitch to Chase Midroth. Chase is hitting 270 with five homers and 23 RBI. 01 from Wells. Swinging a miss. Fast ball. Just a straight fast ball right in there for strike two. Midroth has a 12game hitting streak going right now. Hitting 439 over that time period. He reaches for one on a low pitch, serves it out to right. Jeremiah Jackson out there will make the catch. One down. Defense for the Orioles. Beavers in left. Matteo in center. Jeremiah in right field. Westber at third. Gunnar at short. Holiday at second. Mayo at first. and Alex Jackson behind the plate. Mike Tauman up hitting in the third a third different spot in the order in these three games. He hit lead off game one. Batted fifth last night in the two spot here today. Got a 10 count. looks at strike one on a change up to even up the count. Tauman batting 263 1-1 pitch that is fouled straight back one and two folks we are in the middle of September. Is it feeling like September out there? Is the fall weather starting to creep in or is it still feeling like summer? One, two, pitch. Check swing. They appeal and he went around. See you later. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now. You hear a high fast ball from Wells. Tauman went around a little bit too much. Two down in the inning. Tyler Wells’s change up has yet to be hit uh with any positive result. Opponents are batting 000 against Wells’s change up. It’s early, but that’s still pretty impressive. Miguel Vargas at the plate. First pitch is a strike. lips this one foul. It’s 0 and2 starting to feel like the fall now. Oh, it’s my favorite time of year. I can’t remember hardly what it feels like living here for the last decade, but I love the fall weather. There’s a called strike three. A three pitch strike out of Vargas ending on a curveball that nips the outside corner. Tyler Wells looking sharp. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now. You hear? Lovely. One, two, three inning with a couple of strikeouts, 10 pitches. What more do you want? Hey there, Jeremiah stopping in. Why don’t you Why don’t you stay a while? Why don’t you stay a while, sugar? Well, I appreciate you hitting the like. Appreciate it. If we had an outfield of Jeremiah, a Hezekia, and a Jebidiah, we could get more Amish fans. I don’t know about uh Jebidiah. I’m thinking uh I’m Oh, shoot. I forget. What’s the name of that character from Children of the Corn? Uh ah I forget. What’s the name of that character? Help me out. Darn it. Uh, I’m gonna find this name. Malachi. There we go. Yeah, we got to get a Malachi in there. Is that possible? H. All right. Hey, there’s a few games. Oh, there’s two games on right now. Cubs and Pirates are tied at four in the top of the sixth. Red’s up three to one on the Cardinals in the top of the fifth. What is going on with those National League Wildcard standings? I need to know. The Mets are up by a game and a half on the closest team, which right now is Arizona. Arizona’s won four in a row. Mets have won their last two. Arizona up a game and a half on the Reds and Giants. So, it’s looking like the Diamondbacks are the one team with a shot to leapfrog the Mets. Jeremiah, excuse me, Alex Jackson with a fly ball to left field and he will make the first out here in the top of the second inning. Mets fans aren’t happy with Mullins. Well, that’s fine. At least said will know that uh there’s a lot of fans here in Baltimore that loved him. Some or some people who claim to be Orio fans have been saying for years now that they wanted they wanted to move on from said. Uh here’s Jorge Matteo. He’s got a 10 count. Make it two and 0. Perhaps so, Phantom. Perhaps so. I’m not ruining for the Mets just because Mullins is there. Sorry. I love said, but you chose to play on a team with Juan Sodto. No thanks. Well, he didn’t choose. She got traded, but whatever. Uh 3 0 to Matteo is a strike at the bottom of the zone. The count is 3 and one. I said something three seconds later. God, everybody hanging on my every word just waiting for a slip up to quickly type it in when I correct it myself within seconds. You got to type faster, folks. I know it’s What do you guys have like a side bet? Hey, who can catch BW with a insignificant slip of the tongue to let him know what he did? You people. Oh my goodness. All right, two down, nobody on. Jackson Holiday, he’s got a count of 0 and one. That ball’s crushed to right. It sounded good off the bat and it’s going to die on the track. Hot damn. Oh, that sounded good off the bat. He pulled it into right onto the track and the inning is over. We go to the bottom of the second. The Orioles have a one- nothing lead on the White Socks. You people. You people. It looked like a home run off the bat. I ain’t going to lie. Even Phantom typed in it wasn’t his choice. My god. Two people did it. Can I can I go back and listen to precisely how long it took for me to correct myself in when I Let’s see. Uh here’s Jorge Mateo. He’s got a 10 count. Make it two and 0. Let it play out. I’m on my toes. So, Phantom, perhaps so. I’m on my toes. Damn it. I’m not ruining for the Mets just because Mullins is there. Sorry. I love said, but you chose to play on a team with Juan Sodto. No thanks. Wait for it. Well, he didn’t choose. He got traded, but Oh my god. Oh my god. Was that two and a half seconds? Three 0 to Matteo is a maybe three seconds. Was it the very next thing that I said? I said something three 8 seconds my ass. You want to hear it again? No thanks. Well, he didn’t choose. He got traded, but whatever. Uh three to No, it’s not counting a full sentence. And I know you’re just trying to take the piss again. If this is going to turn into Well, let’s just pick on BW every game channel. Guess what? I’m folding up shop. The plan wasn’t for me to try to enjoy Orioles baseball while getting picked on by a mob of people. Okay, 3.2 seconds. So, what did I say? 3 seconds. Thank you, Mr. Hyde. Uh, yeah. Just come on. Line drive into right field. A base hit. Coulson Montgomery is on with a lead off single here in the bottom of the second. I’m again and so 3 seconds a second. So think about that folks within 3 seconds you heard something picked up whatever device to start typing in something to by the time you sent it I had already corrected it but you sent it anyway. Oh my. Edgar Quero. I’m only I’m only harping on this because I find it amusing. I’m playing a role right now. Does anybody think I’m legit upset? I hope not. Edgar Quer with a count of 0 and one. Runner at first, nobody out. Not counting the sentence. I think you have to count the final part of the sentence. the part that’s in question. I’m I’m done. Uh, another base hit. Back-to-back singles here for the White Socks. Maybe we should focus on the game if only for a minute because we’re in a little bit of trouble here. White Socks with two men on, nobody out. Lenin Sosa up to hit next. My goodness. Oh yeah, Mr. Hyde, I I would never accuse you of being a stickler for the 2/10 of a second difference between what I just threw out there as a guess and what the true true time was. That was way off. I didn’t mean to exaggerate. Here’s the one to Sosa. There’s a strike, a cutter top of the zone. It’s one and one at BW. I’m going to catch him off his game. This guy thinks he knows everything. Watch while I catch him flub something as he calls a game at 3:00 in the morning. Ah, you guys are really going after some lowhanging fruit over here. One and two on Sosa pitch. That ball is fouled away. [Laughter] H folks, now would Dodger fans treat Vince Skully this way? I don’t think so. All right. One and two the count on Lenin Sosa. Here comes the pitch. Fouled away again. We are in the bottom of the second inning. The C the Cubs the White Socks two men on with nobody out. First and second base. One- nothing lead for the Orioles at the moment. Long at bat here, even though the count’s just one and two. Pitch. Another foul ball. Another foul ball. Well, luckily a nice quick first inning for Wells. The pitch count just now hitting 20. Another one, two to Sosa. My game just froze and now my screen went black. Now what? Holiday over to Gunner. Back to first, folks. A double play. A double play. My internet went away for 3 seconds, but 3 seconds of uh euphoria, folks. [Music] Two down with a runner at third after a double play ball. Four to six to three. Sorry that my internet dropped out for a sec. Here’s Robertson. First pitch to him, swung on and missed. So a double play ball there from Lenin Sosa. Two down, runner at third, the 1-1 to Robertson. Bottom of the zone for a strike. One strike away from getting out of what was a jam. Two on with nobody out. That pitch low and away. Change up from Wells. Two balls, two strikes, two out. And the pitch inside full count. Wells is erra. Yes. Right now at 2.03. One or two more outs. He’ll be sub two. With as few innings as he’s pitched. Maybe just this one out could do it. Not sure. Payoff pitch coming to Robertson. That one’s lined to first. Mayo with a nice pick. We’ll take it to the bag. Unassisted to win the inning. All right, let’s keep an eye on that Wells Erra. Two innings in the books. Couple of strikeouts, couple of hits, no walks. We go to the third inning. The Orioles lead at 1 to nothing. And yes, that erra for Wells stands currently at 1.98. We’ve got two pitchers in this rotation with a sub two erra. What are we worried about, folks? Who needs an ace? We got two sort of 27 pitches for Wells, 21 of them for strikes. Oh, Phantom. He’s fine. Yeah, you can’t expect 10 pitch innings on the regular. 17 pitches. You You want to shoot for a 15 pitch inning. So, as long as the average is down and 27 is what? 13 and a half. Yeah, he’s fine. He’s fine. Don’t give Elias any ideas. Well, if I can get him to listen to me, even if one is a bad idea, KPK, I’m surely if he’s going to listen to me, I’m going to offer more good advice than bad compared to what he would do, right? So, let me give him ideas. Don’t you don’t let me not give Elias ideas. Was that a triple negative? I’m not quite sure what I just said. We’re moving on to the third inning. Michael’s got good news. Daniels is injured. Who’s Daniels? Am I having a brain fart? Jordan Westber first pitch to him is high for ball one. Well, that could be true. KPK, I hope so. All depends on how well I play. That game can really be a I swear it’s scripted. these uh sport video games, they don’t let you just cuz I trust me folks, you’ll see it when I start up the uh gaming stuff. I I’ve been playing the show for so long. Whenever I get the latest version, whatever it might be, we got a three-0 count on Westber, by the way. And that’s a called strike. Looks like the umpire gave Perez an inch off the outside on that call. Three and one. I’ve been playing the show for many generations of the game and every year I get it. I know exactly how to go right into the options. Ground ball to short. Westberg will be retired six to three on the put out. One down. I know exactly how to go in there in the settings and set everything uh just right to where it’s a very fair experience. I typically don’t just sit there and crush home runs all the time and beat every team I’m playing 12-2. Uh it’s on as difficult of a level I think as I can handle. Uh so the games are are normally close and pretty fun. Uh 01 pitch to Gunner is fouled away. It’s 0 and2. But sometimes you play that game and you can just tell when the computer is starting to do something sinister to you. Here’s a ground ball to first base. Sosa will race to the bag to beat Gunner there for the second out. Couple of ground outs here for the Orioles to begin the third. Tyler O’Neal coming up next. The big biggest example of knowing when the game is cheating, and yeah, I’ll use the word cheating, is when you’re the pitcher, you’re facing a computer batter, and the computer just decides that no matter what happens, uh, you’re going to not get that guy out. And you know, you got this little pitch meter that you need to accurately hit. And if you hit it like right on the money and you you know, normally uh you get a nice result. 02 pitch to O’Neal. Perez wanted the call on the outside corner. Doesn’t get it. It’s one and two. Two down. Nobody on top of the third. Orioles ahead one to nothing. Oh, somebody just ordered a big old frozen drink for $17. Comebacker to Perez. He will throw to first in time and the inning is over. O’Neal grounds out back to the pitcher. We go to the bottom of the third. The Orioles lead at one to nothing. This guy with his $17 slurpees. Give me a break. Hey folks, who wants us who wants some sugar water for 17 bucks? It’s cold though. You’re paying for the cold. Two more years of general soreness. What? You don’t think he’s going to exercise his option a test-free agency? Because surely the other 29 teams in baseball are clamoring for this guy’s services, right? Will the sub count ever get to 3510? Holy cow, folks. I’ve been averaging in the last five days uh four fifths of one sub. [Laughter] Less than a subscriber a day over the last five days. Folks, I made a video talking about the state of the channel and how season 3 is. Yes, it’s going to be started. Can’t tell you if it’s going to be completed. Depends on how the growth of the channel is going uh after this season 2. Uh not even halfway meeting the numbers of season 1. Uh, and as soon as I make that announcement, I’m averaging less than one subscriber per game. And not to complain, but I’m also averaging about $2 worth of super chats in those times. Uh just to let you know, uh adding up the ad revenue and that is coming out to about $9 per game, folks. I I’m not going to be able to do this for $9 a game. Just letting you know. It sucks, but that’s the reality. Hopefully things will pick up. Uh Taylor, first pitch swinging. That ball’s hit out to center field. Jorge Mateo, always an adventure, makes the catch as he jogs to his left for the first out of the inning. All right, who was that to hit? Did I even say his name? Yeah, Michael Taylor flies out to center. Dominic Fletcher up next. Fletcher hitting 231. It looks at a first pitch strike. Yes, Ciao. I know you have a question. There’s a question mark right there at the end of it. It’s a weird question, though. Feels more like a statement. Is there a follow-up question? It’s 0 and2 on Fletcher. One out, nobody on. I’m not sure about trying to get Zack Ewin back. Shower. Was there more or was that the question? Is Rogers going to pitch in the Yankees series? Uh, yes. I went over all four matchups and uh I’ll do it again here for you. Ball one to Fletcher. That pitch is high. I got the matchups right here. Rogers is going to pitch game two against Will Warren. That’s the Friday night game. All right, Mr. Hyde with a super chat. Thank you, Mr. Hyde. You know, I you know, I got pride like anybody else. It doesn’t feel good to basically beg for support, but hey, there’s only a handful of games left in this season. Trying to finish on a decent note here and uh a super chat like that helps out Mr. Hyde. It does. Thank you so much. Let’s up the average. He says, “Message for you, son. It is one and two on Dominic Fletcher.” So, I hope you guys don’t mind if I do bring it up once or twice down the stretch every game. The hat has now become a collection hat. I mean, heck, I can think of a lot of causes people throw money at that are a lot crappier than mine. This is all for good. Uh this is the eighth pitch to Fletcher and that ball’s hit hard but foul right side. Lots of foul balls in this at bat. Wells trying to put away the number nine batter, but he’s being a pest. Yep. The theory of a healthy Grayson Rodriguez in a rotation all year sounds nice. What What do I have? What sort of evidence do I have to believe for a minute that we’ll get a full healthy season out of Grayson Rodriguez, though? That’s the problem. Two to Fletcher. Another foul ball. My goodness. Uh, I don’t think so. KPK, that’s a interesting question, but I don’t think so. The only sort of way to mark time being here is a magic membership. It’ll give you a monthly uh update. Check swing on 22 appeal. Fletcher didn’t go. This at bat has got to end. 11 pitches already. and Tyler Wells, who was doing fine with the pitch count. Now it’s uh not so fine. Popped up. Please be playable. It should be. And Alex Jackson, the catcher, will record the out. Two down in the inning. That took forever. And Wells is now up to 40 pitches. Yeah, you could do that KPK. Obviously, that’s a timeconsuming venture, but it’s possible. Uh Sean, I’ve got a a website that’s like a cup of coffee kind of a thing for content creators and such. It’s like a donation site. Kofi Ko Fi. And if since you brought it up, I’ll drop the link in there. Since you brought it up. But yeah, uh any donations made in this uh area here is uh you know, they don’t take uh a percentage as much as YouTube does. There’s the link. And again, I’m not saying go there now and donate, but if you just want to look at the website, judge for yourself that it’s legit, you’re more than welcome to. Uh, Chase Midroth is at the plate. And the count is two and one. And there are options to be members on that side as well. You won’t get the clout you get here with the binoculars and the emojis and all that. Two-1 pitch is hit out to right center field and Matteo will chase it down to win the inning. Wells winds up facing three batters, but he had to throw a lot of pitches mainly to Chase Midroth there. Uh we’re through the bottom of the third onto the fourth inning. One- nothing Baltimore. 162 from Birdland. What is that? You’re talking about games. Anytime I see 162, I’m thinking about games in a season, but then there’s a decimal 0.00. And now I’m confused. Hey folks, fourth inning coming up. Here, I’ll So, here you go, folks. You want You want to a peek at it? Here’s a peek. Uh, that’s what the website looks like. You got me right here looking like an idiot, right? You got your Brooks Robinson love. 28 people right now have been supporting in some way, shape, or form. You get to see me, what I look like before, gray hair. Uh people uh post uh messages and what have you. That’s what it looks like, folks. It’s all legit. And uh I think $5 is the minimum no donation. So apologies if you wanted to just throw a couple of bucks. Two bucks still helps, but I think I think five is the least you can do. I don’t know. Yeah, it says yeah, please enter at least $5. But that’s what it looks like. I’ve never sat here and showed off this website, but this is the uh this is the place uh where you can donate to the channel without having to worry about YouTube taking a giant cut like they do with the super chats. All right, Jeremiah Jackson leading off here. First pitch, he swings, fouls it off to the right. Jeremiah’s got a hit already today. RBI single. Driving in this game’s only run up to this point. Inside Jeremiah. The count is one and one. Swing and a miss. Change up outside. One ball, two strikes. George, thanks for that bullfrog. You reminded me Jeremiah. Two and two. The count on that pitch low. Here’s a ball hit on the ground to short. Montgomery routine play. Jeremiah retired. One down in the top of the fourth. Hit hard. 103 and a half off the bat. Here’s Kobe Mayo. Drew a walk his first time up. I’m hoping Mayo finishes this season strong. First pitch strike to him. How David. It’s Orioles White Socks on a getaway game. What can he do? What are we looking at in the hit department? We both teams with two hits. We’re in the fourth. So, it’s not like they’ve nobody’s been squandering chances. There just haven’t been many. Uh 02 to Mayo. That one’s lying. Base hit in left center field, folks. I can see it. Kobe Mayo for the first time in his major league career is in his own. He’s seeing the baseball. He’s taking good swings. That’s another base hit for Mayo after a three hit game last night. He already drew a walk today. He’s getting on base, folks. Kobe Mayo, we need you to be redot for this upcoming Yankee series, my friend. Don’t Don’t let it all get used up here. Beavers turns on the first pitch and fouls it off. 0 and one, folks. Beaver time. Nice beaver. Thank you. Nice beaver. Thank you, Jake. I’ll do you one better. I think we’d all agree that if the offense is improved and the pitching is improved, then we should be better. But might I add, uh, the coaching staff and the coaching of these players that needs to get better. And I feel like if that gets better, then the other things you want to get better are going to more easily get better. I don’t know if the things you want to get better can get better unless the coaching gets better, you know. I hope so. Uh Dylan Beavers with a count of two balls and two strikes. We might get him back during the Yanks series. Phantom, I’m not sure. I mean, after the Yanks series, there’s only six games left in the season. Uh, it’s right on the cusp. Beavers to right. Stay fair. That ball is gone. Bye. By by, Birdie. Dylan Beavers. Show me your Beavers. Home run number three, second of the series. A no doubt shot to right. 398 ft. It is 3 nothing Baltimore. Oh, it’s magic, you know. It’s magic right. [Music] I was taking a bath. All he does is get on base. Although this time he wasn’t on there very long. A home run just a trot around the base pads. Three nothing Baltimore looking for a sweep today. Alex Jackson at the plate. He’s got an 02 count already. And a called strike three. A cutter back doorm at the knees. And that will end the inning. But Dylan Beavers, I think that ends the inning. Hold on. Dylan Beavers rocking an 898 OPS right now. There’s two down in the inning. Excuse me. And uh I’m very happy about that because we can get Matteo out of the way right now rather than have him lead off the next inning. Matteo, the number nine batter up there. First pitch, he fouls at the plate. It’s 0 and one. Next pitch rounded fair ball, Jorge, forgive me. Forgive me for just assuming you’d make a final out here. Matteo sneaks a ball down the left field line for his fourth double of the season. He bounced it right in front of the plate and still able to get it past the third baseman. So, a two out double with plenty of speed. If Holiday can get a ball into the outfield, get another run in. Jackson Holiday fouls away the first pitch. [Music] George says Jorge Matteo for leadoff man. Yes. Yes. I like it. Clone them. I want nine Matteos. One through nine. 0 and one on Holiday. Perez with three looks at Matteo and the pitch as a foul tip. Strike two. Two down, two strikes on Jackson Holiday. Two runs in the inning. 74th pitch of the afternoon for Perez coming and it’s low. One ball, two strikes. One, two, Perez. There goes Matteo. And there won’t even be a throw, folks. Matteo swipes third standing with two down. Say what you want about Matteo. He is the fastest player on this team and uh if there’s somebody to steal a base for you or take an extra base, he’s your dude. That’s his 15th steel this season. I don’t even know how that’s possible. How has he played enough? And this is interesting, folks. The trainer is taking Perez out of the ball game in the middle of this at bat right after Matteo stole a base. It wasn’t even right after a pitch. I mean, it was, but just a strange time to see a pitcher get removed from the ball game. We’ve got a two- two count on Jackson Holiday. It is an injury situation. So, whoever is going to come in is going to be warming up uh from from zero. Could be a few minutes before we get back in action, but when we do, Holiday will have a two- two count with Matteo at third base and two down. Three or nobody out. Nobody out. Nobody out. Nice. All right, we should be getting a run in this inning. Uh, three nothing Orioles in the top of the fourth. Matt with a super chat. He says, “Thanks, BW. I apprec I appreciate you.” Is that like an app joke? Am I your favorite app on your phone? Thank you, Matt. Message for you, son. And I want to thank you very much for that. I really do. I know you appreciate it, Matt. You’ve uh been uh very nice in uh helping the channel out both uh with your time and with the cash. Thanks so much, Matt. Are you looking forward to 2026, Matt? Will you be kind enough to retain your mod duties for 2026? What do you say? Why was I about to drink this coffee? This is yesterday’s coffee. Folks, I need to uh make a beverage emergency beverage change. I’ll be right back. All right. Uh, we have a right-hander on the mound for the White Socks, Steven Wilson, and he’s still warming up. So, I’m making some coffee, and I’ll be right back. [Music] [Music] He met a strange friend in the Chesapeake Bay when the All right, that was all well timed. No offense to Martine Perez. I hope he’s uh going to be okay. But that injury timeout gave me a chance to make some coffee. And that’s a good thing. Hi everybody. They say pitcher felt something in the elbow. Earlier statement feels like a fake injury situ. Yeah. I mean, when it comes to pitching, I would never guess anything’s fake because there are so many injuries. So, so many. All right, Matteo’s a third. Two and two the count on Holiday. Wilson in to pick up where Perez left off on this 2-2 pitch. And wow, just just absolutely breaks off a beautiful sweeping pitch. on the outside corner at the knees to strike out Holiday looking. The inning is over. Matteo stranded at third base. Really Perez, you couldn’t just throw one more pitch. Damn it. All right, we have a lead here. It’s three nothing as we go to the bottom of the fourth. Three runs, five hits, no errors for Baltimore. No runs, two hits, one error for the White Socks. What’s going on with my inbox? Oh, somebody somebody donated to Kofi. Would you look at that? Wow. A nice donation. Uh I could Okay. Does the person who uh donated would like would they like to be identified and given credit or do you want to keep it anonymous? That’s another reason for the existence of that secondary donation site. You know, some folks don’t want to announce who they are or how much money uh they might contribute to uh the cause and all that stuff. And if you do it over there, you can do it anonymously. Person who sent me a very generous uh donation on Kofi, would you like to be uh given credit and a thanks or would you like to keep it? Wait, wait a minute. How would you answer that without identifying yourself? I don’t know what to do. But hey, I know who you are and I want to say thanks. I just don’t know if you want me to say. So, I’ll leave it up to you to acknowledge yourself and then I I’ll be able to say thanks publicly. Okay. Appreciate that. Hey folks, we got about a 100 people here. about 53 have hit the like button. I think we can do better. Trying to get the likes up to 100. That’s the uh that’s the baseline. All right, Mike Tauman will lead it off for the White Socks. Two, three, four hitters do up. First pitch curve ball from Wells is low and in for ball one. The 10 a strike bottom of the zone on a change up. Any other games getting underway since Nope, there won’t be another game starting for about 20 minutes. Just two other games going on around the league right now. One-1 pitch outside. Cubs and Pirates are now tied at four in the top of the six. And the only other game, the Reds have a three to one lead on the Cardinals. That’s in the fifth. 2-1. The Toman is hitting the air to right. Backing up is Jeremiah. He looks up. That ball is gone. Mike Tauman hits a home run ball to right. clearing the wall out there by about 10 feet or so. And that is the first run of the afternoon for the White Socks. Folks, you can set your watch to it. An Orio starting pitcher, at least not named Trevor Rogers, giving up a home run ball. Typically a solo shot. We’ve done it again. There it is. Not the worst curve ball I’ve ever seen Wells thrown, but not a good one either. Here’s Vargas up now for the second time. He looks at a strike. That ball is low and away 101. Well, apparently Phantom, we have a lot of flyball pitchers because Kramer gives up that home run ball. Sigano gives up that home run ball. Effin would always give up that home run ball. Here’s a ground ball to third. Vargas will be retired. Westberg on the play. One down in the bottom of the fourth. Not to deny what you’re saying. It’s just everybody’s a flyball pitcher in this rotation. Apparently, uh Coulson Montgomery with one down. Is that basil? Great. I had some basil stuck between my teeth. Boy, I hope that showed up on camera. Uh, one and0 on Montgomery. That is ball two. That looked pretty good. Top of the zone. We don’t get the call. 2 and 0. There’s a strike. Nicely spotted on the inside edge. Two balls, one strike. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And you know, being a flyball pitcher isn’t necessarily a a negative trait. There’s been successful flyball pitchers out there. Uh it’s all about inducing uh contact that isn’t, you know, barreling up those balls and getting crushed. You want to get those lazy fly ball outs, but sometimes uh yeah, Montgomery on a two- two pitch, reaches for one, fouls it away. We’ll do it again. Yes, solo shots. And I and I will admit that like our staff, they are giving up that home run ball pretty regularly, but uh normally it’s a solo shot. I mean, Sigano, I feel like this last start he made was the first start he’s made. And I don’t know how long where he didn’t give up a first inning solo home run to somebody. Uh two- two pitch that’s popped up should end the inning right behind second base. Gunner who is shifted that way will make the catch. Two down. So, if Wells can get this next batter on a couple of pitches, he’ll be right on 15 per inning, which is right about where you want to be. I mean, less than that obviously is good, but you just don’t want it to be much more than that. Edgar Quero at the plate. That’s a called strike. Oh, that’s hot. The 01 a little bit inside. Well, not a little bit. Probably about five inches inside. One ball, one strike. Uh, William, probably it has everything to do with money when it comes to choosing locations to shoot things. It was probably cheaper to shoot in Milwaukee for whatever reason. Could be a tax thing. I don’t know. But, uh, from what I recall, they did use the Brewers County Stadium, right? I can’t say for Major League 2. I haven’t seen Major I’ve seen Major League 2, but I don’t think I’ve seen it since like it came out. I can barely remember that movie. I remember they brought in a Japanese player. That’s about the only thing I remember. Uh, here’s Lenin Sosa. Big swing and a miss on the first pitch. There’s two down, a runner at first. Did I miss the second out? Did I just not call it? I might have spaced out there for a minute. I apologize. There’s two down and runner at first. 01 to Sosa. Well, that would definitely indicate that it’s been a long time since I’ve watched Major League 2. They used Camden Yards. I have no I have no recollection of that. How were they able to have this giant warehouse show up in the movie and then to somehow play it off like it’s Cleveland? Like, I get it. Cleveland Municipal Stadium and Milwaukee County Stadium. They were both, you know, rickety multi-purpose metal bleachers, crappy crappy ballparks that, you know, were basically one and the same. How do you get away with going to Camden Yards, which at the time was like one of the newest parks in baseball? And you know, looks nothing like those other two ballparks. They did strategic camera angles. Man, Baltimore must have really offered them a deal. Here’s a fly ball to right field. Sosa will fly out to Who’s in right field? Is that Jeremiah? For the final out of the inning, we go to the fifth. The Orioles have a three to one lead. That’s just nuts. They never panned up in right field. So, let me get this straight. I’m just imagining, this is just speculation, but like whichever movie studio that’s responsible for Major League, they’re probably scouting where to shoot the next one. for whatever reason, they can’t come to agreement with Milwaukee. So, they’re asking around. I I just get the sense that the Orioles were like, “Hey, we’ll do it.” Like, we’d love to be able to showcase our brand new ballpark, have it in a in a theat in a Hollywood movie, and then everybody will have a chance to, you know, check out Camden Yards. And then the studio is like, “Yeah, okay. you’re offering uh less money or or we’re you’re asking less money from us to do this than anybody else. We’ll accept with the Orioles not knowing that basically they’d shoot it in such a way to where you would never know it was Camden Yards. So what was the point? You know what I mean? Like I feel like the Orioles thought maybe it would be like free advertising for the ballpark, but then they shot it in a way where the whole purpose was to convince you it was anywhere but Baltimore. I don’t know. Hey, is that Melvin Mora? Folks, Melvin Mora, Friday, September 19th for 1 hour on Utah Street is going to be signing some autographs. Get on out there Friday the 19th. You got Yankees in town. You got Melvin Morris signing autographs. What the hell more do you want? Orio fans spotted in the ballpark, folks. It’s like playing Where’s Waldo out here. 3-1 Baltimore. Top of the fifth. Westber will lead off. Gunner to follow. First pitch right in there for Westber. Strike one. a first inning grand slam from Moa. I I thought Melvin Moira was a really fun player during a uh otherwise pretty miserable era of Orioles baseball. I mean, that’s like into the 90s, into the early 2000s, right? There wasn’t a whole lot going on for us, but Melvin Moore was a good player. Did we get to 35 or 3510? Did we? Westber looks at a pitch outside. It’s one and two. 3510, folks. The sub count has moved for the first time since gosh. I don’t know. Pitch outside. It’s two balls and two strikes. Thanks for the update there, Froggy. Do I hear 3520? Yeah, Brian Roberts. B- Rob we went to the same college. So yeah, he must have joined the team about what 01 02 maybe 03. We had Larry Bigby called strike three. A nasty sweeper on the front door from Wilson and Westber strikes out one away in the top of the fifth. Are the Orioles good with right-handed pitchers? Uh well, it’s all relative, right? We got speak the truth because uh we are better against righties than lefties on paper this season, but are we good in general? Here’s a base hit up the middle for Gunner. One out single. Gunner’s aboard. Turn on the faucet. That was 100 miles an hour off the bat. Scoreboard froze. Okay, let’s see if that helps. Tyler O’Neal at the plate. Gunner at first with one down. Top of the fifth. O’Neal takes a sweeper on the outside edge for a strike. Now, what’s going on with this crazy crazy What are you doing now? What are you doing, you dumb scoreboard? Excuse me. Who’s the Orioles all-time leader with a 656 winning percentage, Jim Palmer or Steve Stone? That’s a trick question. I mean, obviously you want to say Palmer, but Steve Stone had that 20 year 21 season. And yeah, the answer is Steve Stone. See, I would have gotten that. I knew that was a trick question. I knew that was a trick question. Steve Stone had a one really good season for us, but I mean, come on. You can’t sit there and cherry pick. How many years did Steve Stone pitch for the Orioles? Two or three versus Palmer’s like 22. Come on. Uh, there goes the runner. And we got ourselves a stolen base. Gunner Henderson, steal yourself another bag. So with one out, Gunner now at second base. The count is one ball and two strikes as O’Neal fouls a pitch away. One and two on O’Neal. Gunner at second with one away. Yeah, way too small of a sample size. It’s a trick question though and it’s designed for White Socks fans in Chicago because Steve Stone is an announcer for the White Socks. Used to be for the Cubs forever, but he’s been with the White Socks now for a while. So that that’s the reason they cherrypicked a question like that. All right, one and two the count still on O’Neal. Uh, foul ball. [Music] One, two, pitch. Oh, check on Gunner. That is going to be a pickoff or not? Man, that was close. Is Gunner safe? Terrible camera work from Massen on this play. They’re cutting around the actual action here. That was close. But Gunner did get back in there. All right. One, two to O’Neal again. Wilson holds the ball a while. Here’s the pitch. Line drive. Fair ball down the left field line. No, it’s not. [ __ ] I’m sorry. God damn, that looked fair to me. Fair enough where apparently the Orioles picked up the phone just to be sure. I apologize. It’s a foul ball. One and two still on Tyler O’Neal. The one two. That one’s fouled back. Can we see that ball again and how close it was? Just to see. No, we’re going to look at Gunner again. Getting back to second. We already looked at that. Did Did the Massen team call it fair? Okay, I feel better. One, two to O’Neal outside two and two. We never got a replay. I mean, if they thought it was fair and I thought it was fair, sure sounds like a play worth at least looking at once to be sure. But we never got a replay. Two two to O’Neal. Swung on and fouled back. We’ll do it again. Long at bat for Tyler here. I’m worried about this if O’Neal has to sit there and swing away 12 times in one plate appearance. That could lead to an injury. This guy is too fragile. Two- two pitch. Did my voice just crack? Holy cow. There goes the runner. Down to third. Gunner is safe. Wow. Gunner Henderson is in a mood. He is stealing bases at will these days. That’s got to be at least his fourth steel of this series. I want to say gets into third with one down. And now O’Neal can drive him in. without the benefit of a hit. Steal your bases, Gunner. Now, this could be challenged. That looked like it could be ch Well, they’re not going to challenge. Fine by me. I thought I saw a reason for the White Socks to look at that a little more close. Bull count on O’Neal pitch. And he takes ball four. That was really close. I had to sit there and stare for a couple of extra seconds after that pitch came in cuz I couldn’t tell if the ump was going to ring him up or not. He does not. Instead, O’Neal takes ball four. [Music] I’m walking here. I’m walking here. All right, we got some traffic here. First and third with one down. And here comes Jeremiah. Jeremiah. First pitch from Wilson is swung on a missed. A sweeper breaking below the zone. The Orioles have stolen five bases already today. The most they’ve done in a game since June of 2023. Remember 2023 and how we used to run the bases like crazy folks and we were good at it? Well, apparently apparently if we play the White Socks, we can uh relive those memories. It’s 0 and2 on Jeremiah. There goes Tyler O’Neal. And now they’re going to throw to third. That ball gets away. Gunner is being laid on top of by the third baseman. What’s going on there? Is Gunner hurt or what? Vargas, the third baseman. The catcher, instead of throwing down to second, was worried about the runner breaking from home plate, faked the throw to second, went to third, and I don’t know what Vargas is doing, but he’s trying to block the bag. He makes Gunner fall over. I don’t know what the hell. I guess he wasn’t sitting on top of him, but man, it seemed like Gunner, if he was able to get up on his own power, could have scrambled to home plate on that play. Orioles don’t seem to be upset about it. All right, big opportunity now for Jeremiah. Two strikes on him, but now second and third with one out. The onetwo pitch, swinging a miss. Down he goes. He gave it a rip, that’s for sure. He wasn’t cheated on that swing, but he missed it. Two down. It’ll be up to Kobe Mayo to get the big knock. And I’m telling you what, if Mayo comes through with a clutch two out hit to drive in a pair, then it is officially on. Mayo has finally figured it out. First pitch foul back by Mayo. Let’s get it all on there. Just spread it out. Folks, get those jars of mayo out of the cupboard. Throw them into the chat. Just get it all on there. Just spread it out. So, the Orioles now with six stolen bases. That’s the most they’ve had in a game since 1996. Do I hear seven? Six steals through four and two/3 innings. Mayo takes a strike right there. Man, that was a home run pitch. Fast ball middle up. He took it. 0 and2 02 to Mayo. And now he chases one above the zone to strike out. Damn. Damn. Damn. Once again, how do you take the one down the middle and then the same pitch elevated out of the zone? That’s the one you swing at. Ah boy, the Orioles leave some men on base here. Uh but uh what are you gonna do? Uh risp. We got risped. We are heading now to the bottom of the fifth. This game is half over, folks. We’ve got a lead and halfway through this game. Looking for a sweep. How you doing, Charm City Chat? I’m going to get up and move around for a little bit. Uh, be right back. Please hit the like button and subscribe if you haven’t done so already. It’s free. Hit the button at the bottom of your screen. Thank you. [Music] [Music] He met a strange friend in the Chesapeake Bay when the We might need to put out a uh APB on uh Miss Janet. I haven’t heard from Miss Janet now in what, a week. No hide nor hair from Miss Janet. How many men left on base so far today? Uh for the Orioles, they’ve left on six. White Socks two. Six runs left on through the first five innings. Not good. Robertson leads off. Bottom of the order doo up for the White Socks. He fouls the first pitch from Wells back. Wells is on 67 pitches. One pitch into the fifth inning. Change up bottom of the zone. called a strike at someone two. That one’s low. A ball and two strikes. Folks, tomorrow night, game one of a fourame series in Baltimore against the Yankees. That’s a swing and a miss. Robertson strikes out. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now. You hear? So, game one of the series. I hope everybody will be here for all four. Game one, first pitch is at 7:15 p.m. tomorrow. They finally figured out that starting games at 6:30 is stupid. So, the Orioles are doing the right thing and starting this game at 7:15. We’ll be on the air at 7:00 sharp. Michael Taylor looks at a strike on a 10 count. He didn’t like the call. I don’t blame him. It’s a 1-1 count on Taylor. So 7 o’clock 7:15 first pitch Cade Povich against Max Freed a couple of southpaws 1-1 pitch inside two and one showing Bunt and popping it up behind the plate just out of reach of Alex Jackson for strike. too. I mean, Michael Taylor can’t lay down a bunch. This guy’s a veteran. Uh, he’s always been known as a contact guy, good glove, and the kind of guy you would think could lay a bunt down, but that was no good. Two and two on Taylor. That pitch way high. Full count. Payoff pitch popped in the air. Third base side. Foul ground. Westber near the tarp. makes the catch while sidstepping his way out of the way of that tarp. Nice play by Westber to get the second out. Two down in the inning. Base is empty. The number nine hitter Dominic Fletcher up. First pitch to Dominic is a curveball in there for a strike. Wells right now on 77 pitches. There’s a ball hit on the ground to first. Mayo will throw it to Wells covering the bag. And that’ll end the inning. All right, 70 something pitches. I’m thinking Wells can go six. I’m thinking Wells can go six. We go to the top of the sixth. It’s 3 to one Baltimore. Whoops. What did I just click on here? There we go. There we go. The Cubs uh jumped ahead of the Pirates. It was tied at four last we checked. It’s now 8 to4 Chicago. That’s in the going into the bottom of the ninth with the Pirates down by four. Reds now up six-2 in the top of the ninth on the Cardinals. They’ve just gotten started in Arizona. Giants and Diamondbacks scoreless. Coming up later today in about 20 minutes, Braves and Nationals and then the night games get started with uh Cleveland playing Detroit, the Athletics and Red Sox going at it. Uh Rays and Blue Jays, Padres’s and Mets, Angels versus the Brewers, Yankees and Twins. Mariners and Royals, Rangers and Astros, Marlins and Rockies, and the Phillies and the Dodgers. Boy, I don’t I don’t know if you can have two games next to each other that could be farther apart in terms of interest from a uh from from a baseball fan. Phillies Dodgers, that’s big. Marlins Rockies, not so much. Grant Taylor, a new pitcher on for Chicago, right-hander, making his 32nd appearance. He’s got an erra, pretty high, 5.68. Bottom of the order up for the the Orioles and it’s Dylan Beavers. Nice beaver. Thank you. Foul back. One and one. Yeah. No reason for Wells not to start the next inning. I’m not promising he’ll finish it. All depends on how economical he can be with that those pitches. But uh we’ll see. He’s got a shot at doing six. That pitch inside. Two balls, one strike. That pitch is high. Three and one. Beavers with a hitter’s count. Leading off the top of the sixth. Taylor’s next pitch. High for ball four. Take your base, Dylan. Hey, look at that. I’m walking here. I’m walking here. Dylan Beavers. All he does is get on base, folks. You think I’m kidding? What’s that? O what’s that uh ops now there, Michael? Are we rocking 900 plus? Alex Jackson at the plate. Up and in for ball one. Alex is 0 for two. 9 03. Oh, ain’t that pretty. Thank you, Michael. Fouled away. It’s one and one on Alex. Look at this sad ass turnout. I mean, folks, if there’s 10,000 people here, they must be wearing camouflage. There must be about 5,000 people dressed as seats. Beavers at first. Nobody out. The 1-1 to Jackson outside. Two and one. Yeah, David. Unfortunately, I keep my sound down where I can only hear the crack of the bat because I don’t want to hear the announcers yapping in my ear while I’m talking. It’s it would give me a giant headache. But yeah, I could see how that’s I think that’s why then in game one there was a ball hit off the bat that sounded so good and I’m like, “Oh, that ball’s crushed and it was just like a routine fly ball.” And I’m like, “Boy, the acoustics here are really good.” Oh, I know why. It’s just a giant echo chamber. There goes the runner. Beavers throw down is not in time. Beavers makes it in there. And we now have seven stolen bases on the day. How far back do we have to go for this? Beaver’s second steal of the season. We’ve already gotten updates about the last time we stole x amount of bases. We’ve just gotten another. How long’s it been since seven? Jackson strikes out. One down. It was a close play. They got a decent throw in there. I mean, of all these stolen bases, not all of them have been easy. Some of them have been close. Here’s Jorge Mateo. He hit a double his last time up. How about that, takes a strike, folks? You won’t hear it often, but here’s a bugle for Jorge Matteo. [Music] Seven steals ties, a franchise record, last done in 1986. One more steel and we set a record. I kind of want to do it. Just don’t let How How ironic would it be if Holiday were to get the the record-breaking steel? It has to be, right? It’s the only way for this to be hilarious. Jackson Holiday must steal the next one to break the record for this team. And if he gets caught trying to do it, I’m done. Matteo fouls it away. It’s still 0 and2. I thought we were up to seven now. Phantom. Oh, only the sixth inning. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There’s definitely time. The thing is we got to keep the lead as such to where stealing is still something that makes sense. I mean, if we were to go up like 8 to one, that’s probably going to end any kind of base running stuff. But three to one, why not? 02 to Matteo swinging a miss. Down he goes on a curveball. Two down back to the top of the order. And speaking of holiday, here he comes. Folks, we’ve got a raid. Dr. Delay is coming on over. That’s right. It was Pirates Cubs playing. Welcome in Dr. delay and viewers. Orioles are batting right now with a three to one lead. Two down, runner at second base. Jackson Holiday at the plate. First pitch to him is a strike. The Orioles have tied a franchise record today with seven stolen bases and we’re only in the sixth inning. That pitch way outside Holiday. The count, one ball, one strike. [Music] How you doing, Doc? All right. In order for me to really believe in this redirect, one of your viewers has to chime in and say something. Hey, Doc, why don’t why don’t you ask your uh your audience if whether or not they might want to subscribe to the channel here? Pop into the chat and say hello. Let’s Let’s make this redirect count. I do appreciate the gesture though, don’t get me wrong. Swing and a miss. Holiday strikes out and the inning is over. It’s still a three to one ball game. The Orioles have had chances. They’ve left seven men on base now through the first six innings. And yeah, in a game where you steal seven bases, you feel like you should have more than three runs on the board, but that’s what we got. We’re going to the bottom of the sixth. Orioles three, white socks one. They hate you. Come on, Dr. Delay. Audience, if you’re supporting the doc, he’s asking your for your support here. Subscribe. Pop into the chat and say hello. Let him let him know that his redirect uh was not done in vain. Uh again, you’re you’re under no obligation. I’m only suggesting. I’m a nice guy, allegedly. Uh but stay as long as you like. No pressure. All right. It’ll be the top of the order do for the White Socks. It looks like Wells will come out to start the sixth inning. Yeah, Holiday caught 11 times. 17 out of 28 is not good. That is what about a 63% success rate. Something like that. That’s not good. And that doesn’t include pickoffs. That does not include pickoffs, which has happened to him, I want to say, five times this season. So, if you add that in, you’re talking like 17 for 33, which is basically 50% success rate. That’s awful. There’s really no point in trying to go for an extra base if half the time you wind up making an out. And now we got nobody on base. All right, Chase Midroth fouls the first pitch away from Wells. We are underway in the top or excuse me, bottom of the sixth. Next pitch from Wells will be the 80th of the afternoon. And I would hope that the Orioles have something stirring in the bullpen in case Wells gets into trouble here. Here’s a ball hit out to center field. Backing up is Matteo. He makes the catch a couple of steps in front of the track. One down the sixth. Two more outs and Tyler Wells will have himself a nice quality start. He’s only given up the one run on four hits without walking anybody. The one hit he gave up that hurt him is from the man at the plate right now, Mike Tauman. He hit a solo home run, his last time up for the only run of the day for the White Socks. Ball one to Talk Toman. This pitch is right in there for a strike. One and one. Folks, be sure to check out Dr. Delay’s channel. Uh, if you click on his name right there in the chat, it’ll give you an option to say go to his channel and check it out. Sign up. And if I’m not on the air, and he is, go uh check out the coverage over there. Not just baseball for Dr. Delay, football as well. Uh, one and two on Talkman, one out, nobody on in the bottom of the sixth. Pitch fouled back. trying to get these outs quickly to keep Wells’s pitch count from getting into the 90s. Again, this is just his third start back from Tommy John and a about a year and a half out of action. Don’t want to overwork him. Another foul ball. It’s still one and two. Pitch number 86. Swing and a miss. Talkman chases a fast ball off the plate outside. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now. You hear? Hit the bricks, pal. You’re done. You get nothing. You lose. Good day, sir. How about this? He’s l dope. Now get the hell out of here. Well, when you I say when you got to go, you got to go. Two down. Here is Vargas. First pitch fouled back. Closing in on 90 pitches in the end of the day for Wells. Trying to make it a quality start. the 01 to Vargas way outside. You can see Wells overthrowing that pitch. Laser is up. Oh, we’re going to have fun with that name. A righthander. This ball’s lifted up to left center field. This is going to be trouble. That ball is chased down by Matteo on the track. Jorge Mateo using that sprint speed closes this ball down up against the wall in the deepest part of the alley here. Jorge Mateo, credit where it’s due. Wells with a round of applause. It ends the inning and will probably end the day for Tyler. How about that catch from Matteo? I mean, it looked like he was running a 40 yard dash along the track. Makes that catch at the end of six. The Orioles lead it three to one. Six innings for Wells. Four hits, no walks. So that is a uh a whip of what like 75 one earned run. His RA is at 2.04. Four strikeouts. It’s been a fantastic return in the first three starts back for Tyler Wells. Quality start today. Three innings left to play. The Orioles do need to get some more offense to make this comfortable. Uh they scored their three runs, one in the first, two in the fourth. Last couple of innings, they’ve gone quiet. It’ll be uh the heart of the order coming up here though in the top of the seventh. Westberg, Gunner, and Tyler O’Neal. two, three, four batters, right, Phantom? I mean, when when Matteo came running through from the right side of the frame at the speed he was running, first of all, I wasn’t even sure that was a person. That looked like an a UFO flying through the screen. There’s never been a question about Matteo’s speed and how it uh benefits him, but he can just figure out how to run good routes, close down, and make catches. Here’s a line drive into left field, but right at him. That is going to be a one pitch out for Jordan Westber. He hit the crap out of it, but right to Robertson and left. Sorry, Westy. Well, West is that way. Well, West is that way. Here’s Gunner. His name’s Gunner, and he’s dating my mom. Gunner’s got a two hit day. Couple of singles. Looks at a pitch low and in for ball one. Laser. Jordan Laser is the pitcher. It’s his 63rd appearance. 375 erra. Swinging a miss. Gunner laid on a fast ball up and on the outside corner. Gunner has three of the stolen bases today. Another cut on and miss that pitch up one and two on Henderson. We’re in the top of the seventh inning. The Orioles are trying to sweep the White Socks before heading home for their final home stand of the season, starting tomorrow night with a fourame set against the New York Yankees. One, two to Gunner. fouled back. Righthander up for Baltimore in the pin. Yeramile Heraldo. Interesting how the sunlight is cake. It uh it’s baking into that bullpin area, but the mound that Herald is on is in the shade. He’s got just enough room to stay out of the sun. Gunner with another foul ball. It’s a ball and two strikes. So Gunner with three steals today. O’Neal has a pair and then individual steals from Matteo and Beavers. Fouled again by Henderson. Lasure. Leure. What’s your pleasure? Another one two pitch popped up left side of the infield. The third baseman Vargas makes the catch. Two down. Here comes Popeye, folks. Ohoy there. Anybody home? O’Neal 0 for one, but he has reached base twice with walks and has stolen a pair of bases. Takes up and away for ball one. I’m calling it. Home run ball coming up. 10. Oh, that was one to hit, too. Come on, Tyler. Damn it. Strike at the top of the zone. The count is one and one. Thanks, bud. You know, my proctologist told me the same thing earlier today. Two and one the count on O’Neal pitch. That’s high. Three and one. Tough crowd. Thanks. I’ll be here all week. Hitters count for O’Neal. Two down, base is empty. The 3-1 from Leure is pop, foul, not a play. Full count. Anybody in the Charm City chat planning on making it out to the ballpark this weekend? or if not for the Rays. One more game. Check out in person this season. 3-2 pitches high. O’Neal walks for the third. You called that a strike. Manelino, get out here and get ejected. O’Neal, don’t go anywhere. No. No. No. The worst. The worst call. The catcher has to put his glove up like this. What are you looking at, Blue? Who do you think’s batting up there? Wilt Chamberlain. That pitch was neck high. What the hell are you looking at? Unbelievable. I mean, do they just did they just take mental health days? Did O’Neal get ejected? I mean, Manscolino should have been out there lickety split. Again, you can’t sit there and bark at the ump for everything, but right there is egregious. That is egregious. Come on, Tony. get out there and get in that ump’s face. I mean, this whole series, they’ve been making some pretty crappy calls. That one takes the cake. That was the time to do something. And yeah, again, if something’s a little bit inside or outside or low, that is those are tougher for the ump to see when the catcher has to do this to get the ball. You don’t need you don’t need any training. It’s It’s high. Hello. Seventh inning stretch time. Oh god. Did I lose a sub again? Look at this. It’s back to 3500. Am I looking at this right? Oh no, it still says 3510. Okay. Oh, I see. This was paused over here. Oh no, it still says 3510. Okay. Okay. Okay. This this monitor was paused. All right, folks. Guess what? Uh, seventh inning stretch. BW is about to blow a a major blood vessel here. But, uh, before he does, he’s going to try to throw some cakes on [Applause] the griddle. Get those cakes up in the chat, folks. Thank God I’m a country boy. Thank God I’m a country boy. Thank god I’m a country boy. Thank god I’m a country boy. Yaram Heraldo is on the pitch and his first pitch antisocial. Dude, how long do you plan on staying? I saw your first comment. I’m back, baby. And knew already you were a pain in the ass. Let’s Let’s read this second comment cuz I got a feeling you got about 5 seconds left. Last week you were so upset about that guy in the Blue Jays winning run comment. That was great. Uh, bye. Damn. Thank you for making my day. Antisocial. Great name, by the way. I can tell. You are a salt of the earth. Froggy, why are you bothering to say hello to a douchebag like that? I don’t know. He’s gone now. He should be writing goodbye and good riddens. Edgar Quero pops it up to center field. Matteo makes the catch. That’s the second out. Two down, nobody on. That’s okay, Froggy. Don’t worry. Lenin Sosa is up. He’s 0 for two. I’m I’m just like waiting for somebody to effectively come at me. Like, could you could you try a little harder? Could you put a little more effort into it? I’m putting an effort. How about you try? Pitch to Sosa. Foul back. It’s 0 and one. We’re in the bottom of the seventh. Baltimore with a three to one lead. This guy comes in, writes in all caps, I’m back. Like everybody’s been waiting for his return. How delusional are you, dude? How lonely? How delusional? How’s your basement doing? Go touch some grass and maybe uh you won’t become the next nut job to make the news. Swing and a miss. Herado strikes him out to win the inning. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now. You hear? Just a little bit of ice from OBW there. Antisocial. I mean, you got a name antisocial. Uh, you’re an agitator online. Let me guess. Do you spend time on Reddit? Maybe a little 4chan action. I don’t know if you’ve been paying attention to the news lately, buddy, but you’re fitting the profile of the kind of a person that uh I think America needs to figure out how to handle. Like, you know what I mean? Go touch some grass, bud. Get off the computer. It’s rotting your brain, and it’s also convincing you that you’re clever when you’re not. It’s a problem. You’re still alive, so there’s still a chance to try to do something about it, but based on your behavior, you’re probably too far gone. So do the rest of the world a favor and just stay away. Stay in your basement. Please don’t procreate. Not that I think you have any opportunity to, but just in case. Uh please. Let’s end that uh family line with you. Okay. [ __ ] [ __ ] All right. Uh, what’s frozen? Oh, it’s all right. I got you. Oh, Tyler O’Neal. We just want to We’re just really interested in Tyler O’Neal. That’s why. Okay, it’s working its way back. I’m back. Oh, yeah. You’re back. You’re so back. You’re You’re making a comeback right up there with Hawk to a girl. All right, here’s Jeremiah Jackson. First pitch is up for ball one. Laser is out here for another inning of work. We’re in the top of the eighth. 3 to one ball game. Orioles out in front. Check. Swing. Appeal. Homeplayed. Umpire says he went. Jackson looks a little upset that they didn’t bother asking the first base up about that call. One and one the count. That ball’s lifted in the center, but right there to make the catch is Michael Taylor. One down the top of the eighth. Kobe Mayo. He’s had a good series. I’m seeing some really positive signs out of Mayo here lately. That’s good to know, Renzy. Just please understand, I really enjoy that you found a channel that you like, but please know that neither myself nor anyone else here could care less about your bets. But I think you know that which is why you’re normally quiet. Popped up foul ground first base side. Sosa makes the catch. Two down. Mayo retired. So again, no offense, Renzy. You do your thing. You’ve never brought up your bets before. So I’m I’m I’m cool with you. We’re cool. Keep enjoying the content. Dylan Beavers is up with two down. Base is empty. And the White Socks are going to make a pitching change. Laser departs. I’m assuming a lefty is going to come out to face Beavers. And a lefty is coming out to face Beavers. Two down in the top of the eighth. Break in the action. I’m going to step away for a moment. Folks, please hit the like button and subscribe if you haven’t done so already. What are you waiting for? And I want to thank you very much for that. I really do. This is Jack Burton and the Pork Chop Express and I’m talking to whoever is listening out there. I’m up to [Music] Oh, wow. Here he comes. Let me show you what I mean. Now, by the first thing you do is get right up in their face. You point the finger. Then, if you can’t get close enough, you turn the hand around and kick some dirt. And then, if he’s missed a sprite, you get over here and you put dirt all over the thing. You throw the half down, you pick it up, you throw it, and you’re so bad, you throw them out the game. You’re out of here. That’s the way a major league manager. I learned something. O R I O L E S. Magic. Magic. Magic. Magic. Oreo. Magic. Magic. Magic. Magic, folks. It’s the magic of Orioles baseball. Hey, we’re running out of time to break the all-time record for most stolen bases in a game. We’ve got uh one more out here in the eighth and then the ninth. Beavers at the plate. takes low for ball one. Nobody on base with two down. Brandon Isert is the new pitcher. The lefty making his 67th appearance of 4.23 erra. Slider for a strike. It’s oneonone on beavers. Folks, this could be your last chance to show me those lovely beavers in my chat. Nice beaver. Thank you. I love a good beaver. That one’s low. Two and one the count. Baltimore’s got beaver fever, folks. It’s shaping up to be an exciting 2026 for this guy. Popped up shallow center coming in as Taylor. He makes the catch and that’ll end the inning. We go to the bottom of the eighth. The Orioles are ahead 3 to one. They have been for a while now. We need some good uh bullpen action here, these final two innings, in order to lock in this sweep. Hang in there, folks. Bottom of the eighth is coming up. Checking in to see how the Yankees are doing today. The 32 pitch hit in the air to right field and deep and the Mets have taken the lead. [ __ ] this team. Stick a fork in the Yankees. They’re done, baby. Stick a fork in them. There’s the one two behind the right center field. There’s a base hit. I love how he slams the table. Gets away from Jazz. Another run is in. More bad defense from the Yankees. It’s 7 nothing. Jazz could have handled the throw coming in from the outfield. And just like that, it is a seven to nothing ball game. Just [ __ ] take the whole team off the field, man. Take the whole team off the field. Take the whole team off the field. Take them all. Get them all [ __ ] out of here. I’m so done. I I can’t even look at this anymore, man. I can’t look at this [ __ ] anymore. This is pathetic. This is This is This is truly disgusting. This is disgusting. Stick a fork in the Yankees. They’re done, baby. Stick a fork in them. That was Yeah, folks. Uh sorry to be a hypocrite. We do try to keep the language here, at least most of the time, uh PG-13. But, uh what I’m uh playing for you, it it’s news. You know, if you’re watching the news and and breaking news is happening, uh, they don’t censor it. They got to give it to you raw because that’s the real news. I’m just giving you the real news going on with the Yankees. As the one two hit right back to Louis goes the second one on the first. Jazz throws it. What the [ __ ] was that, Jazz? You see what I mean? Rico Garcia is on the pitch. It’s the bottom of the order due up for the White Socks. Robertson leading off fouls the first pitch back. So, I don’t mean to step on Froggy’s toes. What Froggy says is true. Try to keep it PG-13. Unless we go to the earmuff eighth inning situation, which I hope we don’t need to do that here today. We had a lot of earmuff eighths in the first half of this season. 02 pitches crushed. That ball is going to be caught out there. Wow. Again, folks, it’s the acoustics of this empty ballpark that’s making me look bad calling this game. Off the bat, that sounded like a cannon, but uh it was well short of the wall. Chased down in right field by Beavers for the first out. Kyle Teal is going to come up and pinch hit. It’s that sound, Phantom. It’s that sound throwing us off, man. It’s echoing through this empty ballpark. There’s a called strike to Teal. Teal is in the pinch hit for Michael A. Taylor. I don’t think Teal will take over in center field. There’s a breaking ball from Garcia in there for a strike. It’s 0 and2. Yeah, it sounded as good as it looked then cuz I thought it was trouble. The O2 pitch swing and a a foul. Oh, I lost sight of the ball. Thought he might have missed it. It’s 0 and2 still on teal. One out, nobody on in the bottom of the eighth. Rico Garcia again yesterday he only had to throw six pitches. So he is available obviously uh today. Probably won’t be for game one against the Yankees tomorrow night though. That pitch is high. One ball, two strikes. Oh, it’s another list of starters that includes the name Grayson Rodriguez. I want to include his name, but I can’t. I cannot do it. I can’t say, “Oh, this spot is reserved for Grayson.” How can I when history has shown that he’s not going to last? He’s going to go on the shelf and we need to replace him with somebody else. That pitch is inside the teal. The count is two and two. And again, I’m not trying to pick on Grayson. I guess the count is one and two. I’m sorry. Nope. Now it’s two and two. Mass is a little bit late. The 2-2 pitch up and away. Full count. Yeah, I don’t mean to pick on Grayson, you know, it’s just at some point you got to be like, “All right, look, dude. If you’re healthy, you come back, we’ll figure out a way to get you into the game, but we can’t sit here and just reserve a spot for you.” Not the way this has been going. Swing and a miss. Garcia strikes out uh the pinch hitter, Kyle Teal. Two down in the inning. [Applause] Ro Suave. Two down for Fletcher and he fouls one away. Strike one. So if we get Fletcher here, it’ll be the top of the order in the ninth. the 01 pitch. I mean, honestly, I think that was part of the problem with the Orioles this season was that in the winter, Mike Elias trying to build a rotation and he’s looking like, well, Grayson is definitely like a number two. So, if I can go out and just get like a Morton and a Sagano, that should do it. Nope, that will not do it. Two and one on Fletcher. Pitch popped up left field. Shallow coming in. Still coming in and going into a sliding catch. Oh my. Dylan. No. Dylan, you’re in right field now, aren’t you? Who is that? Carlson? Who the hell made that catch? Did we have a defensive change? Because it’s not showing up here. Okay, there it is. Carlson is in left field. He just made that catch to end the inning. Jeremiah Jackson is out of the ball game. And Beavers, who was in left field, now in right field. Okay, we are now going to the ninth inning and the scoreboard is frozen. All right, Renzy, I’d hate for your bets to get ruined with a frozen scoreboard. Let’s see if this helps. Well, I don’t know if it’s frozen or not. It’s showing who’s due up next. Isn’t that where we’re at? The inning is over. Are you talking about the scoreboard at the top of the screen or this one? Where the hell are we? I don’t know. There’s your box score and scoring summary. Uh, yep. And yep. Says middle of the eighth. That is hilarious at the top. Okay, let’s see. Thank you. How about now? How about now? I honestly can’t see on my monitor the board at the top. I can see three to one, but what inning it is, I can’t see. It’s too small. That’s what she said. All right, top of the ninth. All right, cool. Cool beans. Brooks Baldwin is now in the game in center field after Taylor was lifted for a pinch hitter. 89 and one batters doo- up for Baltimore. Alex Jackson is 0 for three. Thank you, Renzy. Hello there, Carl. What’s that about Ragsdale? Claimed by the Braves. Well, I’m happy for him. Honestly, I’m happy for him. And I hope the Braves give him a better opportunity to establish himself than we did because that was a mess. 10 is swung on and missed. It’s one on Alex Jackson. We’re in the top of the ninth. We’ve got a three to one lead out outside. I am running out of juice, folks. Uh these middle of the night games this far into a season. I’m telling you folks right now, I hope that I’ve been calling a game and you don’t feel the lack of enthusiasm or passion coming through. I hope I still have it. My body is saying, “Go to sleep, you moron.” It’s 3:37 in the morning. What are you doing? We got ball four, folks. It’s a leadoff walk to Alex Jackson. That’s a nice start for a rally. Take your base, Alex. [Music] I’m walking here. I’m walking here. John M is here. Have we got to 100 likes? Fantastic. Folks, we got a lot of people here. I’m a bit surprised. 176 people currently in the room. If you don’t mind, hit that like button. We’re only just got to 100. We can get to 150 easy based on the numbers I’m looking at. Just tap that thumbs up at the bottom of your screen. We’re in the ninth inning, so there’s not a whole t lot of time left. Jorge Matteo at the plate. He’s got a count of one ball, one strike. And this is a little tapper back to the pitcher. He bobbles. That won’t help. You can’t bobble a ball back to you with Matteo going down the line. Isert can’t pick up the comebacker. And Matteo will reach. We’ll see if they call this a hit or an error. I feel like you got to call it an error. You got to pick up that ball on one try and throw him out. If it is an error, it’ll be the second of the day for Chicago. First and second for the Orioles now with nobody out. And now the top of the order up for Holiday who’s 0 for four. He’s due. Holiday shows just the most ridiculous nonbunt bun attempt I’ve ever seen. Like what are we doing there? What was the point of that? He takes strike one. And now a big swing and a miss. It’s 0 and2. Come on, Jackson. What are you doing, man? Let’s not get cute. Lock in here. The 89 batters got on no problem. 02 pitch. Holiday strikes out on three pitches. Holy cow. That was bad. What was that at bat? He shows Bunt without really, and I’m so sick of this, like showing Bunt with no intention on trying to bunt just to take a strike. How does that help? All right, one away for Westber. He’s looking for his first hit since coming back off the DL. He had he did walk twice yesterday, but he’s 0 for six between yesterday and today. 01 pitch is in the dirt. One and one on Westber. [Music] Charm City chat. Maybe we can help Westy out with some of those Westber emojis. John M is on it. We haven’t had an opportunity to use those emojis in a while. Swinging a miss. Strike two on Westber. [Music] Keegan Aken is up in the bullpen. The one, two, low and away. Two and two. Phantoms in. I mean, I’ll get in on this. Come on, folks. West is this way. West is that way. Two balls, two strikes. Two men on with one out. Pitch to Westber. Popped up. Center. Well, no, it’s on the infield. Second baseman will make the catch. Two away. So that is 0 for7 for Westber at the plate since his return. Gunner Henderson’s due up next. Are they going to make another change? They are going to make another change. Another lefty coming on to face Gunner with two down in the ninth. White Socks just want to keep this score where it is and they feel like this pitching change will help make that possible. We’ll see. Call to the bullpin for the White Socks. [Applause] And yeah, folks, we got a break in the action. Check it out. We’ve been streaming today for two hours 46 minutes and change. I think I brought up the like button once, maybe twice. Uh we’ve got a lot of people here for the end of the ball game and I’m asking you folks to please help out the channel. You don’t have to send any money. You don’t even have to subscribe. I’d love if you subscribed. It was It’s free and uh you know there’s no commitment, but if I can’t get anything like that. If you could just tap that thumbs up at the bottom of your screen, maybe the Charm City chat here can help me convince you. Every time I bring this up, I’m like, “Hey, Charm City chat, maybe you could help me uh convince some people.” uh you know, maybe you can try to encourage this uh community uh effort we got going on here. I don’t know. Just a thought. We all want to see the channel grow, right? Everybody crickets. Tyler Gilbert is the lefty coming on in relief. Jeez, folks. One day if this channel is just not there, don’t start asking me what happened. I’m telling you right now, this channel needs help. You need to help out. That’s about it. Soup to nuts. That’s it. All right. Gunnar Henderson versus Gilbert. Gilbert started game one of this series pitching the first inning. We haven’t seen him since then. Swinging a miss. There it is, folks. Again, I hate to browbe you into this. Hopefully, when I bring up these things, I don’t have to call you out. You just go, “Oh, BW is trying to promote the channel. Let me help him. Let me uh put in my two cents. It really does help, guys. I would not bug you about it if I thought it meant nothing. One and one. The count on Gunner. Two down, two on the pitch. Called a strike. Front door sweeper. So, it looks like it’s going to be Keegan Aken for the ninth inning. A base hit could give us another insurance run here. Check swing by Gunner. The hard appeal and he went. Gunner strikes out and the Orioles leave two more men on base. I tell you what, nine men left on a lot of them since we’ve scored the three runs. Hopefully, we’ve got enough. A two-run lead. Now, we are going to the bottom of the ninth, folks. Bottom of the ninth time. [Music] Now, we’ve got another thing we like to do around here, and that is when we’ve got a lead in the ninth and we’re trying to get those final three outs and shut that damn door. What do we like to do in the Charm City chat? Michael knows. Close the door. Close the door. Close the door. We’re trying to close the door. And we are Charm City. We’re going to have some heart. I’m going to spy on you right now. I am spying on the chat. Let’s see. There they are. Oh, there they were. Oh, there they are. Hearts. Heart everybody. Oh, what about love? I only want to care about you. What about love? I hate that band. All right, we’re going to close the door. We’re looking for a We’re looking for a sweep. In fact, hold on a sec. I want to have a prop ready just in case. Just in case. I need a prop. All right, Keegan Aken. Ain’t no faking, ain’t no mistaking. When it’s time to bring home the bacon, you call upon Keegan Aken. And what is going on with this uh scoreboard now? Forget it. You know what? Forget it. We’re going over here. We’re going over here. Whoops. Right about there. First pitch. Call it a strike. Top of the zone on the outside corner to Chase Midroth. Midroth. I’ll never get it right. He’s 0 for three. That ball is Oh, a little Q shot into right field for a base hit. Oh boy. You don’t want to see that leadoff man on opposite field single. I mean, it’s a good pitch from Aken. What can you say? Just poked out there by Midroth. Uh I do have an email address. I think it is uh listed on the uh information page of the YouTube channel. Fouled back. Who’s up to hit right now? I don’t have a name yet. It is Curtis Meade. He’s up to pinch hit here. 01 to me. Swung on a miss. A fast ball up and in. O2 me started game one. We have not seen him other than a pinch hit spot last night since that ball is lifted in the center right there. Is that Cowser into the ball game? That’s definitely not Matteo. Catches made in center field. Yes, Colton Cowser in as a defensive replacement for Matteo. Thank you. Thank you, Tony, for thinking of doing that. All right, Miguel Vargas, one on runner at third. A ground ball could end the game. And there is a swing and a miss. It’s 0 and one on Vargas. He’s 0 for three. A strike out, a ground out, and a fly out. 01. That’s high. Baltimore trying to go to 72 and 80 on the season. Keeping those 500 record hopes alive. There’s a swing and a miss. Two strikes on Vargas. There is some chatter in this small crowd here and I don’t know if it’s White Sox fans or Orio fans. One-two pitch swung on and fouled off. Still one and two. trying to get out of here with a sweep of the White Socks. One-two pitch popped up. Stay in play. It won’t. It’s out of play. Still one and two. There’s a lot of shadows on the right side of the field. First base and right field, sunshine everywhere else. That pitch way off the plate outside count even up at two and two. In fact, it might be a little difficult for the hitters at this stage because right now the pitcher is throwing from the sun and as soon as that ball leaves the hand, it’s going into the shade. 2-2. That ball’s hit out to left and well and racing it down is Carlson. He makes the catch. Throw back in. Oh, another fine play in the outfield here late in the ball game for Baltimore. Carlson had a long way to go. Could not afford one bad step. He chases this ball down. We got one more out to go. [Music] The batter is Coulson Montgomery. One for three. First pitch. Call it a strike. A front door slider from Aken. [Music] Next pitch, outside corner, strike two. [Music] The Orioles are one strike away from a clean sweep. Well, if you saw last night’s game, maybe not all that clean, but uh you know, the O2 pitch popped up left field. Carlson’s under it. He’s got it. And the Orioles wrap up this road trip with a sweep and break even on this six-game trip. They get swept in Toronto. They sweep the White Socks. Final score, Orioles three, White Socks one. folks. [Music] Folks, we now just have to go nine in one. Nine and one. You want a 500 season? We now need singledigit wins to do it. We’re still alive. Can we do it, Charm City? Again, the combination of pulling that off and doing it at the expense of the New York Yankees is something BW would be willing to give up his left nut for. You feel me? Yes. Magic. Magic. Magic. Magic. Oreos. Magic. Baby. Magic. One more time. O R I O L E S. Magic. Magic. Magic. Oreos. Magic. [Music] All right. How about them apples, folks? We’re not losing a 100 games and if we just win one more, we’re not losing 90 games. Uh, what can you say? All right, come on, folks. This season has been a nightmare. But, uh, God, if we just didn’t get off to such a shitty start. If Charlie Morton couldn’t have just not sucked so bad for those first seven or eight starts and has given us a chance to win one of those games if we didn’t attempt to put Kyle Gibson out there. Uh you know what I mean? H. And then you start thinking about individual games like the eight run lead we lost to Tampa and some other games where we’re like, well, damn, we should have won that. You start adding that up. H. But hey, we we swept. What am I talking about? Can we just enjoy a sweep? What am I talking about? Final score, 3 to one. Uh, the win goes to Tyler Wells. That’s his first. Martin Perez, the loss. Keegan Aken with another save. I believe that’s seven on the season for him now. Wells went six innings, did not give up a walk, one earned run, four strikeouts, and four hits. His RA lovely 2.04. Yaram Herado pitched a scoreless seventh. He only needed eight pitches and he got a strike out in there. Rico Garcia, a scoreless eighth inning. Uh, no runs or hits or walks. Got a strike out. And then Keegan Aken closes the door. He did give up a hit, but that’s it. So, good uh, bullpin work. Three shutout innings down the stretch. Meanwhile, the White Socks used six total pitchers on the day. Uh the Orioles set or tied a franchise record today with seven stolen bases. We could not get that franchise breaking record, eight steel, but pretty insane. Matteo got his 15th steel. O’Neal doubled his steel total for the year from two to four with a pair of steels. Gunner’s been going crazy lately. He’s up to 26 deals now after swiping three today. And Dylan Beaver’s also added a stolen base, his second. Uh we left nine men on base, the White Socks three. Uh luckily that didn’t come back to bite us in the butt. Jorge Matteo got a start in center field. We survived it. He even actually made a a pretty impressive catch on the run along the warning track. uh somewhere around I think the seventh inning. Dylan Beavers hit his third home run as an Orio and as a major leager back in the fourth inning, a two-run shot. He’s up to 13 RBI on the season. The other RBI off the bat of Jeremiah Jackson, he’s up to 21. Uh that came with two down. We were just one for 11 today with runners in scoring position. that Jackson two out knock the only hit in 11 chances. So there you go. We left a lot of men on base and we did not knock them in but we still beat the I mean this is how this is how you’re you become a bad team like the White Socks. I mean, we were by nowhere near, at least offensively, doing much at the plate today, but they couldn’t stop us from running and they couldn’t do much scoring because their defense isn’t very good and their offense isn’t very good. Time of the game, 2 hours and 42 minutes. Attendance is 10,900 and change. I think that’s a bunch of malarkey. Uh, but it’s still a pretty damn small crowd. All right, let’s look at tomorrow night because we’re just now getting started. Looks like somebody just uh supported over here. Hey uh person who just uh sent a Kofi donation. Would you like to be uh thanked here in the chat again? How do I do this without you calling yourself out? Uh but there is a certain kind of uh what would you call it? a an apparition. Uh a a some sort of uh supernatural uh cloaked figure. I don’t know. I’m dancing around your name, buddy. But uh I see your donation over here. And I see your three birds in the chat. All right. I’ve called you out. Thank you, Phantom. Yes, it’s you. It’s you, Phantom. And I see it right here. And I’m typing. And thank you so much, buddy. Thank you so much. And I only send private messages. That’s the benefit of uh donating over here, folks. You want to talk to BW oneonone? Come over here. All right. Typing back to Phantom live on air. There it goes. All right. Really do appreciate that. Okay. back to the uh back to the postgame coverage here. And yeah, I want to get right into this. The Yankees coming to town. First of all, let me look at the standings. Let’s look at the standings right now. The Blue Jays and Rays are still playing today. Yeah, they start in a couple of hours. So, we are now what? A game and a half back. A game and a half back at Tampa. I refuse to give up on this. I want to just get out of last place. I don’t want to be called a last place team. That is my goal. And let’s see here. Looking ahead at tomorrow’s matchup. Here we go. So 7:15 p.m. is first pitch. But folks, don’t get here at 7:15. Get here earlier. I’ll start the stream at 7:00 sharp. and we’ll have a lot of notes to go over before this big big series coming up. Four games at home against the Yankees. Uh the Yankees are going to have their ace on the mound tomorrow night. Max Freed a record of 17 wins and five losses. An erra just a hair over three. 181 innings logged on the season. uh they went out and paid big money for him and it’s a long contract but year one he has he has earned uh his salary has to be said Kade Povich on the mound for us a 3 and7 record erra 5.05 with a 145 whip povich is now over 100 innings on the season 101.2 two and he’s been a strikeout pitcher. 109ks in those 101 and 2/3. Uh let’s just try to Yeah, we’re going home. Let’s go home and let’s take care of business. And boy, do I hope that the turnout tomorrow uh the ratio of Orio fans to Yankee fans is a good one. Uh, looking at the Yankees injury report. I want to see if there’s any prominent Yankees out of action here. I’m looking at everything right now, folks. Garrett Cole has been out since forever. Uh well, no actually Kohl’s apparently uh as of last week is scheduled to make some throws from 75 ft. Anyway, he’s returning from Tommy John. He won’t be back till next season. Uh Clark Schmidt, another of their pitchers is on the 60-day DL. Jonathan Lewisa reliever is on the disable list. Oswaldo Cabrera, kind of a utility infielder. He’s out long term. That’s about it. So, they got their major stars, your Aaron Judges, your John Carlos Stanton’s, your Oh my god, we got Jazz tomorrow. Starting tomorrow as the one two hit right back to Louie. Goes the second one on the first. Jazz throws it. What the [ __ ] was that? Jazz, have we played the Yankees since that series that Jazz Chisum decided to, you know, go kung fu and, uh, basically kick Maverick Hanley, uh, who’s just defensively set up to try to just apply a swipe tag and then he knocks Hanley out, gives him a concussion. We haven’t seen him since. Is this the first time we’re playing the Yankees since then? Because boy oh boy, I can’t wait to see my friend Jazz Chisum Gh. All right, folks. Orioles Yankees starting tomorrow night. You better be here. I know this first game, the pitching matchup is a landslide on paper in favor of the Yankees, but so what? It’s a division game. We’ve had this team’s number here over the past few years, and I’m ready to play spoiler against the team I hate more than any other team in any sport. Hell, I hate him more than any other entity, anything. I hate him more than the Department of Motor Vehicles. All right. Uh, so come on back tomorrow for that, folks. 7:00 sharp. Do not mess around. I want to I want you to be there. Hey, I want to say thanks to Dr. Delay for the redirect earlier. I appreciate that, buddy. Don’t worry. I will return the favor when the situation pre pre uh presents itself. Thanks to the mods here in the Charm City chat for keeping the chat nice and charming. Uh, thanks to everybody else who chipped in by hitting that like button. We got over 120. Uh, we had some super chats come in. I basically had to pander for it. Also, some donations on the Kofi website, guys. Honestly, it it’s so it’s so needed. I don’t know how to word it without sounding either desperate or like some kind of shyer, but this is again there’s no trickery going on here. Uh I’m trying to just earn enough to be able to do this. And uh yeah, when you look down and you realize, huh, these last five games I’ve been averaging a grand total of $760 per game. that’s not going to quite cover expenses. So, when you guys do uh donate, trust me, you turn, you know, a minuscule amount of revenue into something that’s actually a I can live off of it. It makes a big difference. I don’t expect people to do it every night. And in a perfect world, people kind of, you know, take turns doing that kind of thing. So, nobody’s doing it all the time, you know. Uh, but yeah, that’s that’s the whole thing with that. Hope you understand. Anyway, oh, Tom has a question. Manelino being interviewed right now. Let me get my glasses on, Tom, just in case. If you had to choose between making the playoffs and losing in the first round or going 7 and0 and knocking the Yankees out of the playoffs, which would you choose? If you’re telling me I’m getting knocked out in the first round, Tom, I might sound like I’m giving you the wrong answer, but I choose option B because you’re telling me there’s no chance to get past the wild card round, which I’ve already been there and done that for two years straight. Honestly, if we were to do that again, uh that would be painful. Uh, so knowing that we can’t get any farther, never mind win a World Series or a pennant, then yeah. Yeah, I would absolutely uh take option B, kick the Yankees ass, knock them out, and laugh my ass off until mid midFebruary. Yeah, I think everybody else here is on the same again. You gave me the perfect qualifier. If it was just make the playoffs versus this, then I’m saying make the playoffs because any kind of a chance to win it all or even just a pennant, I’m going to take that over a grudge against somebody I don’t like. But if you’re telling me what you told me, then yeah, I think I’m taking option B there. Okay, let’s see if there’s somewhere I can send you. It’s a little bit after 5:00 p.m. back on the East Coast. I’m going to try to get a couple hours of sleep in here before the sun comes back up. Easier said than done, but I’m going to try. Uh, are the Phillies and No, they’re not on right now. All right, let me go in here manually and see what’s shaking around YouTube. It’s just no good anymore since you went away. Stand by, folks. I’m just looking to see where I might send you. One is the lonliest number that you’ll ever do. [Music] Two can be as bad as one. It’s the lonliest number since the number one. No is the saddest experience you’ll ever know. Yes is the saddest experience you’ll ever know because one is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do. One is the loneliest number. Much much more than two. I don’t think I’m sending you anywhere, anybody. I think I’m just signing off. All right. I hope you enjoyed today’s call. We had a sweep. Uh but you’re getting off scot-free today. Just a good oldfashioned sign off. Hope you’ll be back tomorrow. We are playing the Yankees. No excuses. I got to work on some thumbnails. Probably write up a community post and try to get some of those bird watchers out there that might have uh folded up shop for the season to come on back for these final 10 games, seven against the Yanks. We want everybody here for it, don’t we, folks? All right, that’s going to do it for me. Have a good rest of your Wednesday afternoon. Come on back tomorrow night. I can’t wait. Until then, folks, this has been the bird watcher. And here’s my buddy, the hat, who will probably be seeing a lot coming up in these next few days. And also the broom. BW the hat and the broom all saying that we’ll chirp at you later. Take care everybody. See you tomorrow night.
