The hate towards Arraez has gone too far, he’s a good locker room guy, always hustles, makes a lot of contact, and doesn’t strike out, he’s hitting a .288 which is the best on the team. O’hearn only has a .070 ops better than Arraez and has only hit 9 more home runs, I do want O’hearn in the line up everyday but you guys are acting like Arraez is a scrub compared to him.

  1. I don’t know if he went for 2nd base or they sent them but holy fuck we needed that extra run

  2. He’s probably getting more hate now because we have a better lineup that we can put out. Now Arraez should start over McCoy and Iglesias all day, but to say he should start over Sheets or O’Hearn is a bit of a stretch. If Bogey was still healthy then we could argue that Luis should be the first one off the bench.

I don’t like the hate he gets, but he needs to improve on the selection of pitches he swings at. He needs to stop taking the first pitch without attempting to swing. He also needs to stop going after pitches outside the zone. I think he would get walked WAY MORE if he was more disciplined at the plate. Just because you can make contact with a ball outside the zone doesn’t mean he should.

I’d like to extend him, but only if it were a 3yr/21mil contract with some incentive bonuses. This is just my take on it.

  3. There are 4 players that are having a very solid September so far (measured by an wRC+ above 100). Merrill, Tatis, Cronenworth and Arraez. Merrill is providing the slug, Tatis is doing everything, Cronenworth get’s on base and Arraez is hitting .327 this month.

  4. People think way too highly of O’Hearn because he made the All Star team. He had a great start to the season, but since June 1 he has a .669 OPS and a .643 OPS since August 1. Luis is heating up in Sept, while O’Hearn just gets colder. I’m really happy both are on the team though. We need bats. And right now, without Bogey, both should be in the lineup every day.

  5. I love Arraez. He plays with heart even when no one else does.

Him and Cronenworth are the literal heart and soul of this team.

  6. Had that Soto foul ball stayed fair him trying to stretch a blooper to right into a double and costing us a run is all we’d be talking about. Turns out to be a nonfactor. Laureano had an answer for it anyway. Padres W. Onto tomorrow!

  7. The first rule is to ignore what armchair GM morons online think about anything. 95% of the dumb shit people say is just repeating shit they heard elsewhere. The second rule is to ignore what armchair GM morons online think about anything.

  8. Love Arraez BUT…dude needs to learn how to take a walk and accept the reality that he’s not fast. If he does those two things, he’ll be the perfect cog in this version of the Padres Machine.
