We have WNBA playoffs this week, as well as, you know, college football and NFL on Thursday, as well as all weekend. So, make sure that you jump on board. For the Rockies, it’s Tanner Gordon listed as a starter in this one. For the Marlins, it’s Sandy Alcantra. And Alcantra’s pitched well. I mean, six plus innings pitched in each of his last six outings. Across his last seven starts, a 3.20 ERA. He’s managed to go seven innings in four of his last five starts. But I think it is worth noting that four of those five outings where, you know, we’ve seen Al Contra go deeper into games, only one of those has been on the road. Now, granted, he did shut down a New York Mets team that, despite recent struggles, has still been fairly solid against right-handed pitching and did a good job of holding them down. And he’s also held down the Colorado Rockies earlier this season, gave up just two runs on four hits over six innings of work. However, once again, the concern was the offense as the offense didn’t back up Alcantra that game. And it was a game that Colorado won in Miami three to2 as Colorado actually swept Miami in that three-game set in Florida. And now the se the scene shifts to uh to Colorado at Kors Field. And I’d be lying if I didn’t if I said that I didn’t have my concerns about Sandy Alcantra at Kors. We have seen plenty of pitchers struggle at Korsfield this season. And Alcantra, despite pitching better on the road in some spots, still has a 7.24 erra this season and a 289 opponent’s batting average. That being said though, this is still the Colorado Rockies who have still found way to lose nine of their last 10 games entering Wednesday’s action. They just have not been all that consistent from an offensive standpoint. And you look at their numbers against righties in the last two or basically in the month of September, second worst in team OPS against right-handed pitching. Bottom five in isolated power. You know, they’re hitting just 230. They have a 28.6% 6% strikeout rate, which is among the highest in baseball, second highest in baseball, only behind the Angels, who are about 4% ahead of them in terms of strikeout rate. But I think Alcantra can have a solid start here. You know, for Tanner Gordon, you know, he’s had his own fair share of issues this season. I would say a lot of his weaker starts have come at home. He did struggle in Arizona as well, but you know, you look at the split for Gordon this season. He does have a 6.14 RA, slightly better RA at home, but it’s still at 5.40. a 288 opponent’s batting average. The majority of the extra base hits that Gordon has given up have come at home this season. But again, it’s also worth noting eight of his 13 starts have come at Kors. So for me, I just think this is a tough spot to back the Rockies in. I do think Alcantra can pitch well in this game. It’s not when I’m rushing to the window to bet just because of, you know, like I said, how Al Contra has struggled on the season and how Korsfield can be an equalizer, but I think that the Marlins are still more the more trustworthy offense in this matchup. I trust their bullpen a lot more. You know, the the Marlins bullpen around league average in the month of September, while the the Rockies have a bullpen erra at 5.43. So, the starters are struggling, the relief staff is struggling, and the bats can’t make up for it. I’m going to go with the Marlins in this one on the run line and that’s going to be my free pick.
