If this lasts throughout training camp like the Zegras/Drysdale debacle, it really doesn’t give me any hope for the more important Lacombe, Carlsson and Gauthier contract negotiations coming up next season.
No team will offer sheet him bc he’s not worth his asking price PLUS a 1st. If he holds out until Dec and becomes ineligible to play this season, he will never make up the lost salary in his next contract. Ducks are holding the high cards.

McT is good but he hasn’t earned the right to demand superstar or near-superstar money. Part of that may be bc the offense was poo the last couple of years and he couldn’t shine, but that same loose argument could be made for anyone. The longer this plays out, the worse it becomes for McT. PV looks like the bad guy bc he’s not wooing him and tossing bushels of money, but PV is playing the long game with the money and positioning the team for other future contracts. Its not all about McT.
This is just ridiculous. Absolute amateur hour.
How do these guys not realize that getting him to camp is the most important thing. Otherwise he’s gonna take almost a full month to get up to speed.
