THE MIAMI DOLPHINS HAD PROBABLY THE WORST WEEK 1 SHOWING OF ANY TEAM BECAUSE THEY FANCIED THEMSELVES A CONTENDER, THEIR FANS REGARD THEM AS A SHORT LIST TEAM THAT CAN COMPETE FOR PLAYOFF SPOTS AND MORE THEY WENT TO INDIANAPOLIS AND WERE SPLATTERED 33 TO 8 AND IT WASN’T EVEN THAT CLOSE AFTER THE GAME. AND HERE’S JORDAN BROOKS. MICHAEL HAWLEY. HE’S THE 1 WHO CALLED THE TEAM SOFT AFTER THEY LOST AT LAMBEAU FIELD. THANKSGIVING NIGHT LAST YEAR. HERE’S JORDAN, BROOKS ON THE PLAYERS. ONLY MEETING THAT THE DOLPHINS HELD AFTER THEY LOST IN INDIANAPOLIS. LOSING THE WAY WE DID. WE GOING IT CAN BE DISCOURAGING, YOU UM, OUTSIDE TALKING FAMILY TALKING, WHOEVER EVERYBODY TALKING, BUT JUST KIND OF MAKING SURE THAT EVERYBODY’S LIKE TOGETHER WHEN YOU LOSE LIKE THAT IS EASY FOR PEOPLE TO GET DISCOURAGED. YOU KNOW, START LOOKING AND QUESTIONING, MAYBE YOURSELF OR OTHERS, SO MAKING SURE THAT WE ALL LOCK BACK IN IS MAKING SURE THAT THE BELIEF IS STILL. THERE YOU LOSE BELIEF, YOU KNOW, YOU DON’T HAVE NETWORKS AND SO MAKING SURE THAT EVERYBODY’S STILL ON THE SAME PAGE AND COME BACK NEXT WEEK STRONGER. IS ONLY MEETING IS NEVER A GOOD SIGN. I CAN’T RECALL 1 EVER HAPPENING AFTER 1 GAME, 1 GAME INTO THE SEASON. THE DOLPHINS FEEL COMPELLED TO HAVE A PLAYERS-ONLY MEETING IT. IT, IT JUST TELLS ME. AND I SAID THIS THE OTHER DAY WITH DEVIN MCCORD, AND IT’S ARE ALL TALK. GOING TO DO AND WHAT WE’RE GOING TO CHANGE AND HOW WE’RE GOING TO BE AND THEN THE RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD AND AND THEY DON’T DELIVER. SO THEY HAVE A PLAYERS ONLY MEETING SO THEY CAN REITERATE SOME OF THE SAME TALK THAT THEY’VE ALREADY FAILED TO LIVE UP TO AND MAYBE IT’LL WORK, MAYBE IT’LL WORK, I PICKED THEM TO WIN THIS WEEKEND BECAUSE FRANKLY, IF THEY DON’T WIN THIS 1, COULD BE, COULD BE A COULD BE A LONG SEASON FOR THE TEAM AND A SHORT SEASON FOR MIKE MCDANIEL, BECAUSE THIS IS THIS IS THE THE PERFECT. IN THE AFTERMATH OF WHAT HAPPENED IN INDIANAPOLIS ANTIDOTE, IS THE BETTER WORD ANTIDOTE IS WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR BECAUSE THEY’VE THEY’VE OWNED THE PATRIOTS. IN MIAMI 7 OF 8 WINS AGAINST THE PATRIOTS IN MIAMI. THEY NEED THIS 1 BAD BUT I’M TROUBLED BY THE FACT THAT THEY HAD A PLAYERS ONLY MEETING BECAUSE I JUST FEEL LIKE IT’S ONLY THINGS WORSE. YEAH, IT’S A TOUGH SITUATION. I I I LOOK AT IT. THAT WAS MY FIRST THOUGHT AS WELL. PLAYERS ONLY MEETING AFTER 1 GAME. WHAT KIND OF MESSAGE DOES THAT SEND? BUT THE TIMES THAT WE’RE IN NOW WITH WITH SO MUCH, I MEAN, THERE’S SO MUCH ATTENTION NEVER BEFORE HAVE, WE HAD SO MANY, SO MANY OUTLETS SO MANY PLATFORMS TO UM, COMMENT ON ON PRO FOOTBALL AND VIDEOS AND JUST LIKE ALL JUST EVERYBODY, YOU KNOW, TALK SHOWS JUST A LOT OF STUFF ALL THE TIME AND AGO. MIKE. IT WASN’T LIKE THIS TEN YEARS AGO. SO, ON 1 HAND, YOU HAVE A PLAYERS ONLY MEETING AFTER THE FIRST WEEK. IT LOOKS LIKE YOU’RE PANICKING. BUT WITH ALL THE NOISE OUT THERE, IF YOU DON’T SAY SOMETHING AFTER WEEK 1, YOU KIND OF YOU KIND OF RISK, EVERYBODY JUST BEING CONTENT OR RESIGNED, TO HAVING A A POOR SEASON. SO I IF I HAD TO MAKE THE DECISION. IF, IF I WANTED A PLAYERS. YEAH. I PROBABLY I PROBABLY DO THE SAME THING BECAUSE IT WAS SO BAD AND SOME OF THE SHOTS THAT WERE TAKING AT THE DOLPHINS, LIKE, I UNDERSTAND, UH, THEY LOOK TERRIBLE, UH, AGAINST THE COLTS BUT TAKEN AGAINST THE ORGANIZATION AND PARTICULARLY MIKE MCDANIEL, SOUNDED KIND OF OVER THE TOP. MEDIA SHOTS. AND SO YOU HAVE TO KNOW, I KNOW I KNOW WHICH 1 YOU’RE REFERRING TO. I THINK YOU GOT TO COME IN AND SAY SOMETHING I THINK YOU DO. YOU KNOW WHAT? I I THINK I AGREE WITH WHAT YOU’RE SAYING BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO FACTOR IN IN TODAY’S ATMOSPHERE, WHAT THE PLAYERS ARE GOING TO HEAR AND SEE AND WILL IT CAUSE THEM INDIVIDUALLY TO SAY THIS? JUST DIDN’T OUR YEAR. I’LL JUST TAKE MY PAYCHECK I GET PAID EITHER WAY. WHO CARES, IF THE TEAM THRIVES COLLECTIVELY I’LL TAKE CARE OF MYSELF, I’LL MOVE ON TO A NON DYSFUNCTIONAL TEAM NEXT YEAR. THIS IS ABOUT MAKING SURE EVERYONE IS ON THE SAME AGAIN, I THOUGHT THEY DID THAT BEFORE WEEK 1, THAT WAS PART OF WHY MIKE MCDANIEL WAS SO DISMAYED. WE PUT SO MUCH EFFORT AND THOUGHT AND PREPARATION INTO WEEK 1 AND WE COME OUT LIKE THAT. THAT’S NOT GOOD. AND YOU KNOW THE OTHER CONCERN I HAVE I KNOW WE GOT A BREAK BUT THAT MCDANIEL DEMEANOR, THAT VERY CHILL. UNAFFECTED, IT DOESN’T WORK WHEN YOU JUST GOT YOUR ASS KICKED. YOU NEED TO SEE A LITTLE SOMETHING. IF I’M A DOLPHINS FAN, I WANT TO SEE THAT THE PEOPLE ASSOCIATED WITH MY TEAM ARE YOU KNOW, SOMEWHAT UPSET BECAUSE I’M PISSED OFF AND I DON’T GET THE IMPRESSION MCDANIELS ALL THAT TROUBLE. AND AGAIN, THAT’S HIS WAY. BUT I WANT TO SEE A LITTLE FIRE. I WANT TO SEE A LITTLE INTENSITY. I WANT TO SEE A LITTLE PASSION AND WANT TO SEE HIM GO OUT AND BEAT THE PATRIOTS. AND IF THEY LOSE IT IS PANIC BUTTON TIME. THAT’S RIGHT, THAT’S RIGHT. BECAUSE AS YOU SAID, THEY ALWAYS, THEY ALWAYS BEAT THE HIM. SO THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING DIFFERENT IF, YOU KNOW, SUNDAY AT 1 THAT’S THE MIAMI ADVANTAGE, SUNDAY AT 1 IN SEPTEMBER. UH IT IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE DOWN THERE IF THEY’RE NOT ABLE TO DO WHAT THEY USUALLY DO. THEN. YEAH YOU FREAK OUT BECAUSE HEY SOMETHING’S DIFFERENT HERE. HOT DAY. STADIUM CONSTRUCTED. SO THE PATRIOTS IN THEIR DARK BLUE SHIRTS ARE GETTING THE FULL BRUNT OF THE SUNLIGHT. REMEMBER THAT HAPPENED TO THE BILLS, A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO

  2. No amount of meetings are going to fix that secondary. They just dont have the talent on the back end to make that D viable against a good offense. That means the ONLY way Miami wins is via shootout. And the offense isnt deep enough to do that consistently vs good teams.. It isnt a matter of will or belief. They just dont have the horses to be a playoff team.

  7. Anyone ever think that week 1 for Miami was just a bad game? Once and a while a team comes out and lays a complete dud. Maybe not reflective of anything, just a week where you have no answers and only thing you can do is chalk it up to a completely failed week and move on. End of the day, it's only 0-1. Everything gets taken to the extreme – example – last year NO started 2-0 and were talked about as Superbowl favorites because if "the way they won." What happened after week 2? 10 straight losses? Miami came out flat as they've ever been in week one. But now it's week 2. Sometimes you have a bad game.

  22. If Miami doesn't win on Sunday they don't need to wait until week 4 or 5. They can just go ahead and fire McDaniel after the game. If he can't get them to beat the Patriots he's not going to be able to get them to contention at all.

  23. Hawley makes a great point here. The media has become almost like a third part of the teams. The coaches, the team, the media. It’s so much more influential than years past. I hate it, but it is what it is. Also, every coach’s demeanor looks amazing when they’re winning. But even Belichick and Reid and Parcells fall flat when the team is losing. What sucks for Miami isn’t the coach. It’s the QB. And I love the kid’s attitude. Just not his ceiling. I keep trying to make myself forget that he was drafted before Herbert.

  26. Guys careers and future paychecks are on the line is the bottom line, this is a very important opportunity for both teams and the players on those teams to win. If you reach 5 wins and go off for 30 points a few times the stink will be less, your next job will be easier. Given the personal issues, Hill has sub-60 catches with a low yards per catch and gets suspended, at 32 he will never see a training camp or see a field again. At his age he resume starts this year and he has the baggage teams don't want. Watson's resume is finished and he will never see a training camp with a different team because of the baggage.

  27. I was there at the meeting. We talked about what our favorite music was and then we traded pokemon cards. Finished up with snacks, everyone brought a different snack. I brought some animals crackers shaped like dolphins. 🐬

  28. Dolphins beating the Patriots all the time in Miami, we're all different teams. This season is a completely different team. So saying that the Dolphins will out right beat us on Sunday is NOT a gimme. Most likely that the Dolphins are so bad, that New England will dismantle the Fish completely. In other words, it is major Panic time for Miami. I smell rotting Fish. And does it Stink!
