  1. At least it was an ace like Hunter Greene that gave us the business. What an unexpectedly great pitcher’s duel.

  2. Well we were definitely the hungover Cubs today lmao, some of the worst ABs I’ve seen. Pretty unbeatable stuff from Greene he was nasty

  3. It’s a shame Rea’s excellent outing was overshadowed by Greene pitching a full game shutout. On to the next one!

  4. Feels like a victory that PCA’s rookie kill count remains at just one for the week. That was a scary play.

  5. Aight Cubs you get 1 loss a season where I won’t get mad and you chose to redeem it today. Remember that in October.

  6. Tbh they had some pretty well-hit balls that just didn’t find grass, nothing too aggravating though. Hell, if PCA’s missile didn’t doink Ballesteros, it might’ve gone down the right field line and scored him, but maybe not as I didn’t see where the RF was playing.

Chalk this one up to a dominant SP who had everything going and negative mojo from the booth, aside from the Suzuki jinx.

  7. Greene was spectacular. 100mph, painting the corners, 102mph in the 9th inning! The start of his life. Tip your cap, move on. Totally different game if that ball doesn’t hit Ballesteros. But “dems da breaks”

  8. You know something special happened yesterday because the Cubs lost today and the post-game thread is a ghost town.

  9. Sometimes your bring your worst and they bring their best.

Just gotta tip your cap and move onto the next one

  10. Hangover game whatever. But kudos to Rea for absolutely dealing and not doing that much worse than Greene.

  11. Lol this is why the Cubs can’t be taken as a serious playoff threat. What an absolute joke.

  12. I can’t even be that mad. Yeah, Rea’s night would have been great on another night when the bats were more lively, but he got 11 strikeouts. I hope that gives him confidence that carries through the postseason.

  13. It’s great that they clenched, but acting like you have won something when you haven’t yet is a huge problem. Shows how immature this team is.

  14. Career high 11 K’s for Rea and 7 strong innings. Unfortunately Hunter Greene was better with a 1 hit complete game shutout

  15. Greene was something else tonight. Dude could be a legit ace. Quite a performance.

    On to the next.
