together. So be a spinner. It’s perfect. Pitch perfect. Getting every highlight from all the sports that matter to you. We’ve got breaking news to bring to you. CBS Sports HQ streaming free 24/7. Per prime time pregame is delivered by Little Caesars, the official pizza sponsor of the NFL. And with that, we say hello and welcome to week three in the NFL. Joe Muso and Kiana Martin, our cast of characters ready to roll. And I’m not sure the same can be said for both participants in Thursday night’s action. Yeah, two AFC East teams writing very different storylines. Bills 2 and 0 brimming with confidence. The Dolphins winless. One is sending, the other scrambling. Well, Josh Allen will be sporting a bit of a different look tonight. He’ll be wearing a protective visor on his helmet after suffering a bloody nose during last week’s win over the Jets. He missed two plays before returning for the rest of the game. But here’s Allan on his new look for tonight. It doesn’t really impact much. Um, it is it’s weird to say it’s a little warmer in there. Like your your voice kind of echoes off of it, too. So, just it’s just a little bit weirder. Was that your first quite like that? Uh, I mean, I wore one all throughout college. I just I don’t think I’ve worn one in a game in the NFL, but it’s it’s all right. I’m a little little bruised up, but we’re all good. Your performance against Miami, um, you’re 12 and 13-2 in the playoffs. the 37 touchdowns you’ve thrown against them in the regular seasons are the most of any against any team. Does it matter? I mean, is it something like No, I mean it just it’s just how it plays out and you know, I just try to go out there and and play the best that I can each and every week. And um yeah, none of that matters though. I mean, it it doesn’t mean have any bearing to what what this week will bring. Well, what matters for the Dolphins. They’re off to a disappointing 0 and2 start, highlighted by a 33-27 loss to the Patriots last Sunday. Miami did put together a late drive to potentially win the game, but they were called for back-to back penalties, a false start, and a delay of game. Here’s head coach Mike McDaniel. He did not mince words postgame. Take a listen. To win games, you have to win the game um not lose the game, honestly. And that that is how you lose the game. You’re moving the you’re moving the ball down the field. You’re first and 10 and then you find yourself at second and 20. Um uh you know that uh that was critical. I think if I worry about my job security, I won’t be doing my job. And I think that inherently is against all things that I believe in. I I ne I’ve never felt entitled to any sort of um I’ve never felt entitled to this position and it’s very important for me to spend all of my waking hours worrying about um exactly how to um do my job and what and all the residual effects um of that are there’s a lot of people affected. So yeah, I won’t spend one moment thinking about all the things that um I don’t know people uh whatever people want me to think about. I’m thinking about um this team and the and the Buffalo Bills here after I get done with this podium. Well, a positive Jaylen Wadd active is certainly a bonus for the Fins while he’s battling through a shoulder injury. But but more on this matchup between the Dolphins and the Bills, we send it back to Joe Muso at the desk. Thank you, Kiana. Joined by CBS NFL analyst Emory Hunt. Emory, did you know that you if you want to win, you have to not lose? Fascinating discovery. Wait till he hears about ties. Uh let me try my hand at a Mike McDaniel here as well. It’s cool to be cool when everything’s cool, but it’s who he is and who this team is in times of attrition that has come under question. Do you read any of the early season comments and maybe some of the tail end of last as overwhelmed by McDaniel? It it feels that way because when you think about Mike McDaniel and you love how he has his own personality and people will focus on that when he’s winning and when he’s losing. But when he’s losing now it becomes well is this wearing thin on the players in the locker room because now it’s bothering us as in the media. But if the players don’t have an issue with it because he’s being truly who he is, it’s no different than a Jim Harbaugh quirkiness or whoever head coach quirkiness. I think when Mike McDaniel is having success, the team rallies around him. It’s all about vibes and the vibes are down right now because they’re 0 and2. If they can just get back on track, Mike McDaniel won’t have to do anything outside of his own personality, which will help him moving forward as a head coach. It’s an interesting situation right now because not long ago, this was a Miami team with the arrow pointing up. felt like the window was beginning to open, but now we’re talking more exit strategy than downfield strategy. Both will be an issue. Tyreek Hill at the end of last year proclaiming, “I’m out, bro.” A lot has been said in a short amount of time in Miami, and not much of it has been about the product on field. Tyreek has not been himself out there as well. Has spent his ch time trying not to step on his own words when talking about his quarterback currently. The contract is sort of handcuffed through next year. The deadcat money is huge. Where do we go from here with Tyreek specifically? I I am really starting to think his off the- field stuff is h handering hindering him on the field. Be think about what has going on all throughout the offseason with Tyreek Hill. Even with him flirting about retiring. So he has to really get right off the field before his on the field self starts to looks like Tyreek Hill. And until that happens, we going to see more of the same. Now to help those guys out, I think they have to find ways to get him involved early to keep him engaged. We see this with a lot of big-time wide receivers, Joe. if they can stay engaged early, it helps him out long term. But also, I mean, at the end of the day, it’s about winning. You could tell this is a guy that wants to win. He has come from a winning culture in Kansas City. So, when he goes to Miami and he don’t sniff, you know, consistent success in the postseason or even sniff a Super Bowl, things like this wears thin on those guys that’s used to winning. And I can understand his level of frustration. I want to see some no read stuff to 10 tonight. Just just flick it to him. Extension of the run game. get him involved as you said early in the flow of this one to try and keep it a conversation because on the other side it might be a little early to start the MVP conversation but the big fellas got the inside track once again Josh Allen spectacular in week one his services not needed in week two if you will he was great in that game as well but it was a James Cook le effort when you look at Allen and what he means this offensive attack we’re always looking for the place where he’s evolving even at this stage in his career early in this season coming out of the off season. Where has he added to his already excellent arsenal? You see those two zeros right there and no turnovers. That right there is where he’s grown this season. I love the fact that he’s not turned the ball over. And it shows you in the two games that we’ve seen him play. Week one, they needed Josh Allen. They needed everything about Josh Allen to win that ball game against Baltimore. Week two, they only needed Josh Allen to not lose the ball game and he played game manager, which is great, which is fine because the defense and James Cook did everything else. So when you’re seeing Buffalo find different ways to win, that’s the mark of a great team that not a good team, a great one. So when you’re needing your best to play their best, they’re doing that. Josh Allen did that in week one. When you’re needing your team just to go out there and execute a team that you’re better than on both sides of the ball, they went out there and did that. So I like the fact that he’s playing whatever the situation needs, and that bodess well for Buffalo long term this season. Not just Allen, but for Buffalo, seven consecutive uh without a turnover. It’s been spectacular stuff. It’s been clean football. It’s been everything you look for mid-season early on in this season when we look at the head-to-head. Buffalo is 13-1 the last 14 against Miami looking to start 3-0 in back-to-back seasons. That’s that’s also something as well getting out of the gate. But what is the biggest question you pose to this group as we do project them down the road to answer the question they have yet to? Well, can they get it done in the postseason? Can they find ways to do what they did against the Jets and also Baltimore when the games really count? And we’re talking about two specific opponents. Can you do this versus Baltimore in the postseason? We’ve seen them do it twice already. Can you do this versus Kansas City in the postseason? We haven’t seen them do that yet. And so there in lies where we’re going to focus on all the cool stuff that they do throughout the season and they going they’re going to get back healthy guys as the season rolls along. But can they do this in the postseason against those two opponents? And I also want to see them continue to develop some of these key guys at receiver. We’re seeing Keon Coleman have a great start to his second season. If more guys begin to develop and continue to be a part of this offense, that’s a scary Buffalo team that we’ll see in the postseason. I will say those Coleman numbers, he has looked better, but waited heavily to that fourth quarter in the comeback against the Ravens. Got to see more from him as well. It’s time now for our real deal delivered by Little Caesars. Emory Hunt, who’s got to deliver tonight to make this ball game. The Dolphins running backs. That’s something that’s going to have to really change, man. You talk about last week versus the New England Patriots. Devon Han 11 carries 30 yards. Ali Gordon one carry, eight yards. So they ran the ball with backs 12 times. That’s not going to get it done. So these guys are talented. A Chan is an explosive guy. He can hit the home run. Gordon is someone that has a level of explosiveness was a 1500 yard rusher at Oklahoma State uh two seasons ago and you gave him one carry. He’s someone that can set the table for your offense, for your run game. And this is what I’ve always talked about. You cannot turn on physicality on game day. You can’t just say, “Okay, today we’re going to be physical.” No, you’re not. You got to be physical from the start in January all the way through now. And they talked about this in the offseason, but they haven’t backed it up. So, we’ll see if they’ll lean on these backs because you can run the football against Buffalo. But, we’ll see if they stick to the run tonight cuz those two backs can get the job done. Having trouble moving the middle early on. We’ll see tonight if they’re getting closer to an answer or further from it. And with that will come more questions. Emry Hunt. Uh, got to take a look at the game number here. Bills laying 11 and a half. Total coming in at 50 and a half. 11 and a half is the second biggest number we’ve seen all season. Still doesn’t seem big enough from where I’m sitting. What do you want to do with those numbers? I’m laying these points with the Bills. I trust in Buffalo’s defense. I love how they looked versus the Jets. The Jets came into that ball game thinking they could pull off the win. I thought they could pull off that win. They shut that down pretty quickly. And so, we’ll see if that happens tonight. But, I like Buffalo and how they’re playing. And we’ll see what version of Josh Allen we’ll get tonight because the first two versions of him in the first two games of the season have been exactly what the team needs. So we’ll see what they need tonight against Miami. We just get Josh Allen to start week three in the NFL. And for that we give thanks. Emory Hunt. We thank you as well. But when it comes to competition with a winning record, Tonga low at 2 and 10 with 15 interceptions over the last three seasons. A winning record staring them down tonight. We stare down the activives and inactives coming into this one. Jaylen Wadd’s going to give it a go with a shoulder. Chop Robinson active as well. Notable out on Buffalo’s side, Matt Milano and Ed Oliver up the middle. We will see Terron Johnson for the first time this season. We know our guys love the bright lights of prime time as we say hello to Pete Prrisco and Todd Ferman. Guys, we’re talking about a timing offense and the timing just hasn’t been there yet for Miami. Pete, when you look at Tua against this secondary that does get a piece back, where do your eyes go? Well, when I look at Tua, he’s struggling. And in large part, he’s struggling because his offensive line’s not playing very well. And that’s never a good thing on a short week on the road against the Buffalo Bills, who have a resurgent pass rush, by the way, with one Joey Bosa really just looking like he did a couple years ago. So, it’s a problem. So, the ball has to get out on time, and it’s not getting out on time for whatever reason. When guys are even open, he’s missing them. He just doesn’t seem to be getting into a rhythm. in this Buffalo Bills defense. For all the talk about how they’re not going to be any good because the corners are banged up and their number one pick went down, they’ve actually done a pretty good job in pass coverage. And in years past, what do they do? They play a lot of zone. They still play a lot of zone, but they’ve changed a little bit. They’re blitzing a little bit more. And I think they might do that a little bit here. Uh provided they get a double on Tyreek Hill. And I know Tyreek Hill hasn’t been great, but Tua has got to get him the football early and often in this game. get some bubble screens, get him some quick throws, you know, start getting into a rhythm. And I think that’s what they’re going to do early in the game. They’ll come out quick stuff, get the ball out of his hands, don’t allow him to stand back there because he’s been bad when he’s been pressured and he’s made some really bad decisions and bad throws. You saw the one last week, Tyreek Hill was wide open and then complained about it and walked off the field. That thing is going bad between the two of them. It’s going bad in the organization. If they get off to a slow start with two struggling to complete passes, it’s going to be a problem. That’s why I think early it’s the quick stuff. Tyreek Hill on the outside, Jaylen Wadd, I know he’s a little banged up. Get him in some of that stuff as well. You have to get the ball out of his hands cuz if he stands back there, he’s going to get beat up. Oh, there’s some legitimate concerns about this Bill secondary, Pete, that you alluded to. I’m just not sure the Dolphins are the team that have the capabilities to be able to pick them apart for just the reasons that you outlined. they can’t protect Tua and he’s got to get the ball out of his hands as quickly as possible hoping that his talented trio of receivers and I’ll put Devin Han in that group as well can make plays and run after the catch because if two is sitting in the pocket he’s not going to have the opportunity to survey the field and hunt the deep ball which I think this Bill’s deep secondary is vulnerable to when you give opposing quarterbacks time. So for that reason I’m going to make a case to go under Tua’s longest completion in the game at 34 and a half yards. I think it’s got to be a short, quick, controlled passing game. Miami should have opportunities to run the ball between the tackles, but they haven’t shown an ability to do that all season long. So, what better way than to use the short, quick passing game as an extension of things. And I think Tu has got to move the ball methodically more so than picking up the chunk yardage other than if Jaylen Wadd, Tyreek Keller, at J Chain are able to break a big play into the secondary, make a defender miss, and turn one of those short gains into a home run. But I just don’t think it’s going to come via the air. I’ll go under 34 and a half yards for two as long as completion tonight. I’m just a bit taken back by how quickly things have turned. A complete 180 in Miami. You had a couple all pros in the secondary. Your edge rushers both sustained season ending injuries in a very short amount of time. Your quarterback can’t get on the same page with the wide receivers. Pete, I know we like to get into the matchups, but it feels like a little bit of Miami versus Miami right now. What do you attribute the failure in the past game to? We talk about what not long ago was one of the most feared duos in the league. Well, it was dynamic. It was fun to watch. It was explosive. It was pretty. It was everything we love about a passing game. And and it had all the bells and whistles, the motion, and everybody got excited about it. What they didn’t have is protection. And if you can’t protect and you can’t, you know, get consistent movement when you need to have it in the run game. They can run it, but they hit a lot of big plays. they don’t, you know, grind it out when they need to, you’re going to have problems at the quarterback position. And I think that’s what we’re seeing uh with this passing game. Uh the look, Patrick Paul, the left tackle, everybody worried about him. Don’t worry about him. He’s going to be a star at left tackle, and he’s been the best one. But they’ve had other problems across that line, and I think that impacts your ability to get the ball down the field in the deep passing game. Ideally, if you’re sitting here and you’re playing the Buffalo Bills and you look at that speed on the outside and you look at the two deep safeties of the Buffalo Bills who have both struggled, particularly Taylor Rap, he’s slow. If you can get him in some matchup situations or in some coverage situations, you could take advantage of that. But that takes time, that takes protection, and that’s where I think this passing game has gone wrong. I do think they’re still going to take some shots tonight. You have to attack those safeties. There’s a major concern. It was a major concern when Hamlin was on the field. It’s a concern now with Rap and Bishop. Bishop’s kind of getting up to speed. He’s going to be a good player. He’s not there yet. So, I think there might be some chances, you know, get the quick bubble streams to start feeling good about yourself. Get the ball in the Hill’s hands and then take those shots and attack those safeties if you can because they’re not great in coverage. We’ve seen that in the first two games. Todd, I do point to the fact that we are dealing with humans and humans have personalities and the mixture of personalities, I think, is another issue here for Miami right now. Who do you point to tonight in that pass game that presents opportunity one way or the other? Well, I think the Dolphins got a little bit of a breath of fresh air. It looked like Jaylen Wadd was going to be a game time decision. He didn’t even have to go through pregame warm-ups. So, at least that gives them a ray of hope that they can be a little bit more balanced in the passing attack than we anticipated if they were going to play short-handed in a game where, let’s not sugar coat, if the Dolphins are going to be competitive and have a chance to pull off a huge upset tonight, it’s because their offense is able to keep up because the Bills will score plenty when they have the football. But I look at Tyreek Hill and while he’s not quite on the wrong side of his career at this point, the same way he was at the same time last year, he’s still not a guy that I think needs to be priced up in that truly elite rarified air, even against a Bills secondary. That is Pete Outline. Does have some concerns, especially with foot speed in that deep secondary. I look at the overunder for Tyreek hung in the high 60s here. And I think Buffalo’s going to do what they can to roll coverage to his side, try and take away the deep ball. And if Tyreek is going to be a high volume yardage guy today, it’s because he’s catching eight or nine balls or he’s able to take the bubble screens that Pete alluded to and turn them into some bigger plays. I just can’t get to the point where we’re constantly pricing Tyreek Hill at 70 plus yards and that’s what it’s going to take for him to beat us tonight. I think Jaylen Wadd becomes the X factor. If he’s able to stay out there for four full quarters and deal with that shoulder injury, they’ll be just fine. He’s the player that I think can operate in that intermediate level and Tyreek becomes a little bit more of the decoy trying to run the coverage away. I’ll take Hill under 68 and a half receiving yards tonight. All right. Much has been said already, but the Han numbers, they tell a story. He’s been over a 100red allpurpose per game in these first two games, but can’t get it going between the tackles. Pete, I know the head coach has got a lot on his plate, but we are talking about the run game coordinator for one of the best run games in the last decade there in San Francisco. I know we’re not running behind Trent Williams or Mike McGllinchi or Lake Tomlinson, but how do they get that run game going tonight? Well, the way Tomlinson is playing now, I don’t mention his name because he’s not very good, just to put that out there. There’s a throwback, but uh look, this this Miami running game, again, it goes back to the offensive line. You don’t get pushed. You don’t get a lot of consistent runs. And this is an opportunity to run the ball. If you look at the Buffalo Bills, they’re giving up a ton of yards on the ground. I mean, and a lot of that has to do with Derrick Henry in week one, but they don’t have that Oliver, you know, and he’s a big part. You week one, he was fantastic, and Derrick Henry still ran all over him. Now, they don’t have him. So, you know, without him in the lineup, you got the rookies in there, Walker and Sanders, they got to play big, but this is a chance for you to run the ball, and I just don’t think they consistently do it. So, I would look more for Hen to be more of a receiver in this game and become a factor in the passing game. I think he’s over near six catches uh in each of the last five games. I think they use him in the passing game more than they do the run. Look, he could rip off a long run, don’t get me wrong. He could end up with, you know, 12 carries for 90 yards because he gets one long run, but consistently running the ball is a problem for this team because of the offensive line. So, hope they get him in the passing game, get him out on space, create matchups that way. I think he’s going to be a much bigger factor catching the football than he is running it. You know, Joe, you talked a little bit earlier in the show with Emory about physicality being something that’s got to be in a team’s DNA. You can’t just wake up on game day and decide, you know what, we’re going to be a downhill running team. And I don’t think Miami can replicate anything that we saw from Baltimore in week one that led to Derrick Henry having such a prolific day, albeit in a losing effort. Uh, so I’m going to echo Pete’s sentiments. I think you have to get Han the ball, and it’s got to be in space, but not as a runner between the tackles. Let him do what he does best, and that’s serve as a receiver. You look at his performance in two games last year against these very same Buffalo Bills. 15 catches, 15 targets, and he was extremely prolific, even if it only came at five and six yards a pop. No Matt Milano in that middle of that Bills defense, I think creates some real problems there. And if you’re going to line up at Chan in the slot and let him kind of operate from there, I think there’s going to be ample opportunities to get him favorable matchups, whether it’s on linebackers or on safeties that are coming up to try and defend him. Um, rather than try and attack the rushing yardage total or even the combined rushing and receiving, I think the receiving yard number is still way too low given what we saw from this dynamic playmaker a week ago against New England. I look for history to repeat itself, much like he did in two games against the Bills last year. I’ll happily take him over his receiving total, currently sat in the high 30s or upwards of the low 40s. We live in a world of hammers and nails. I believe the roles in this one are quite obvious. It’s why we play them, fellas. Coming up, we’ll get to the other side of this matchup and see what the hammer has to say. Coming up, the Buffalo O showing they can win in more ways than one. We choose the adventure next on Prime Time Pregame. Here we go. The 2025 CBS Sports NFL schedule is here. 18 glorious Sundays. He’s got his receiver. Touchdown filled with rematches. Bills looking to post 30 plus for a third consecutive game to start the season. Paired with no turnovers in seven consecutive, you got yourself a winning formula. Our winning formula always comprised of Pete Prrisco and Todd Ferman in to assess the other side of this one. And gentlemen, it’s an interesting case here on a short week for a Bills offense that has already shown ability to do it all. Run game was obviously the focus a week ago. Josh Allen always the focus. Pete, when you pit them against what’s been a civ of a defense to this point, where does the dissection begin tonight? Well, I think it begins where it always begins for the Bills, which is their run game. And and that takes so much pressure off Josh Allen. Last week, he didn’t have to do anything. I mean, he did nothing. But that’s not what he does against the Miami Dolphins. Remember, he’s their daddy. Never forget that. Josh Allen owns the Miami Dolphins. You look at the numbers, they’re just outrageous. I mean, he he’s he throws it, he runs it, and he beats them. And so, I don’t think it’s going to be one of those games where he just turns in hands off. That’s not what he does against them. Particularly when you look at this defense, 9.1 yards passing against per attempt. That’s awful. It’s 30th in the league. They struggle to cover the pass. Their cornerback room is the worst in the NFL. It was the worst in the NFL. Then they had a bunch of injuries. Now Storm Ducks out. Uh it’s even worse now. Rousul Douglas, who was a reject, by the way of the Buffalo Bills, is now on that on the corner for them. He doesn’t run very well. So I look for them to get back to throwing it around a little bit because that’s what he does against this team. They lead the league in intermediate passes and they do that to the tight ends and I think this is going to be one of those games where the tight ends get a lot of action in the middle of the field. But I also do think there’s a big matchup problem for the Dolphins on the outside. Keon Coleman’s a big physical receiver. They’re not very big on the corner. I think there’s going to be opportunities for him to win some 50/50 balls down the field, get some big plays. This will be a Josh Allen game. We didn’t see it last week. You didn’t need it. We saw it a couple weeks ago. You needed it. You’re I don’t know if you’re going to need it tonight, but they’re going to run it. They’re going to throw it. They’re going to do whatever the hell they want to against this Miami defense. You know, Pete, I’m not sure there’s an opposing offense right now in the NFL that isn’t a matchup problem for this Dolphins defense the way they’re currently constructed. Because you look at a group that likes to blitz, they still don’t generate pressure. They can’t cover anybody on the back end. And normally every defense, guys, has at least a silver lining somewhere. They do one thing remotely well that they can hang their hat on. But you dig into all of the underlying metrics for this Dolphins defense. Their EPA with a blitz, terrible. their EPA defending short intermediate routes, terrible, deep routes, terrible against the run. The list goes on and on. So, I’m gonna take a little bit of a flyer here uh on apparently the Miami Dolphins Daddy and Josh Allen. Not to go over one and a half touchdown passes at that price tag of minus 150, but look for Josh Allen to throw three touchdown passes or more tonight at a price tag right around plus 220 or thereabouts. Look, Josh Allen should be able to do what he wants when he wants against this Dolphins defense. He can get a variety of receivers involved. Whether it’s Khalil Shakir, Josh Palmer, Dalton Concade, James Cook as a runner, Keon Coleman, the list goes on and on. This is a Dolphins team that if you back out, Neil Downs has surrendered points on 13 of the 15 drives that their defense has been on the field. The Bills no doubt have to be licking their chops to put up video game-like numbers. And I think Josh Allen becomes the primary beneficiary. He can throw three touchdown passes or more. I’m willing to take that price of plus 220 that he’s able to do so tonight. All right, Pete, let’s go on those pass catchers we mentioned a bit ago because it’s been Keon Coleman and Josh Palmer, the tip of the spear, but still looks a little bit dull to me. Coleman’s number, the lion share coming in that fourth quarter comeback against the Ravens. Outside of that, pretty pedestrian. Are you seeing the development yet that you want to see that is required to take this team to a place they have not yet been? Yes, I you haven’t had to see it against the Jets. You didn’t need to see it. You did need to see it against the Ravens and they did it. So, yeah, I would say yes. And the biggest factor is the tight ends. And I think you’re you’re seeing Kade on the screen, but Dawson Knox has done some things and Jackson Hall is a rookie tight end who they use a lot of two and three tight end sets. He might be the best blocking tight end in the league right now. He’s a physical mer and Knox is good in the run game. So, they use a lot of two and sometimes three tight end sets. So, I look for that to be somewhere where they go early in this game. Look at Kim Kaid in the middle of the field. I think he’s going to have chances there. Miamiy’s given up 11.9 yards per catch to the tight end position. It’s not been a good start for them and this Bills team likes to use it. I said they lead the league in intermediate throws. A lot of those intermediate throws go to the tight end. So, look for those guys to be involved early and often and then get some shots down the field uh to Keon Coleman. Like I said earlier, by the way, if you want to play a flyer, anytime touchdown, haw, I think they might start using him more in the passing game. He’s a big type player. When I was there in the summer, all they did was rave about the kid. I said, “You have two. You have Kim Kaid, you have Knox, and they said, “Keep an eye on this kid. He’s going to come.” And you know what that means? Dawson Knox should be enjoying his last season in Buffalo. You know guys, this is kind of a pick your poison and figure out which receiver is going to eat or be first in line at the buffet table tonight against this Dolphin secondary. And when you look at that graphic that we just showed about the receivers and their contributions, last year’s unheralded superstar has kind of been off to a little bit of a dull start in his own right. Khil Shakir targeted just 11 times with seven receptions for 76 yards. I think this is the night he’s been looking for for that so-called breakout performance. Uh you look at Miami’s numbers against slot receivers, they’re actually halfway decent, but Josh DS wasn’t anywhere close to 100% in week one. Last week, Deario Douglas is so far down the depth chart for the New England Patriots, it’s somewhat irrelevant. Shakir can be that guy that benefits immensely. If the Dolphins want to use that too high safety look to try and take away some of those explosives over the top, Shakir comes into this game healthy. I think he’s undervalued with a receiving total that did open as low as 40 and a half. I know it’s been bet up a touch, but I think anything honestly shy of 50 and a half yards tonight offers value and upside for the number one weapon or at least the guy that was a season ago for the Bills. Khalil Shakir breakout performance tonight. Wouldn’t be surprised if he went north of 60 yards against this Dolphins defense. We will earmark that one. As for the run game, Pete, we mentioned it in East Rutherford. It was the James Cook show better than six per carry, I believe. 132 in total. One has to wonder if he’s starting to hurt Josh’s MVP chances, you know, as you as you pointed out in in Baltimore a year ago. Different conversation, but uh broadly speaking, quick turnaround four days. Does the run game suffer the most in your eyes in these Thursday nighters? Well, I not in not with this Buffalo team because that’s what they want to do. By the way, the day I was there in Buffalo, one of the two days I was there, it was the day that he didn’t practice. They had said to me leading up to that practice, he’s done everything we wanted him to do. We can’t believe it. He still wants a new contract. He’s here. and then he said didn’t practice and they caught everybody off guard. He said business and you know what he got his contract done. Kudos to him and he stepped in and he continues to be the player he was a year ago. So, uh he’s been explosive. He’s been dynamic. He was that last week against the Jets and it all starts with the offensive line. They had their top 10 guys come back from a year ago. Top 10. I mean, that doesn’t happen in the NFL. Now, they did bring one rookie in and they changed them out. But the bottom line is you don’t have that kind of consistency and they are graders. They could the right tackle is a road grader, the left tackle is a great player. So, you look at it, they’re going to push push push and then take those shots down the field. And that’s what they’re going to do tonight. You look at the Miami interior, those guys have struggled. Zack Caler got a big fat contract and hadn’t played to it. They struggled on the interior, which is a problem for him. I look for Cook to get off again tonight, get a big performance, maybe go for 110, uh, and then they take their shots over the top with Josh Allen. Well, if Cook goes for 110, we’re going to be able to cash our prop on Cook relatively easily, Pete, because I’m going to take his rushing and receiving number over the posted total because when I look at this Dolphins defense, again, we sound like a broken record. They can’t really defend much of anything. But I think the biggest revelation a week ago, even after the Patriots elected to bench TV Henderson, they didn’t change their game plan. They made Raandre Stevenson, this Dolphins defense, look like the second coming of Marshall Faulk, catching balls out of the backfield. And I think James Cook can be as valuable in this offense tonight as a receiver as he can a runner between the tackles. You guys mentioned the big payday Cook got leading into the season. Well, the Bills are treating him like a running back that’s been paid. He’s averaged 20 touches in a per game to start the season. And I think they know they just have to get their playmaker involved early and often. So whether it’s running the ball from the backfield or it’s him catching balls out in the flat, I think he is poised to go over the sentry mark and allpurpose yards. And since Pete gave us a long shot anytime touchdown score, Joe, I feel I’d be remiss if I didn’t do so. If this game gets loose in the second half and the Bills are up comfortably, look for Ray Davis to be the goal line back and maybe Vulture one of those late touchdowns. All right, you know, they always add intrigue to our watching and uh we do have one more play to get to here. Todd Ferman, I always come to you first. 11 and a half. That’s it’s a lot of gristle before we get to the meat. Total’s 50 and a half. What do we want to do with it? You know, it’s a big number here and I’d like to think the Dolphins are going to put up a little bit more fight than we saw in their season opener against the Colts. They acquitted themselves. okay last week against the Patriots, but still came up short and the wrong side where it mattered most at the betting window. But the one thing I’m most confident in this game, guys, it’s the Bills offense against the Dolphins defense. And Miami hasn’t offered much in the way of resistance. You look at how dynamic Buffalo has been in their own building. It hasn’t mattered the opponent. You can pretty much pencil them in for 30 plus points on a game-in-ame basis. I don’t think that changes here. I’m going to take the Bills team total over 31 and a half, but do shop around 31 is a key number in this particular market. But if the Bills finish this game with less than 35 points, I’d actually be very surprised. I think Buffalo scores early, they score often, and they put this Dolphins team potentially out of their misery midway through the third quarter. Bills team total over 31 and a half. I’m in agreement with you. I think I think Buffalo’s going to put up a big number. Look, Miami has done a lot of things. They went on a 10-day training camp trip, tried to get team bonding, and then they had a team meeting in week one. It just doesn’t work. You are what you are. The coach allowed them to get away with murder for a couple years. They took advantage of him. He tried to tighten it up. You can’t do that. And now he’s scrambling. Now the team is scrambling. It just doesn’t work, particularly on a short week against this dynamic offensive team. I think the Bills put up a number. I think Miami will get some points, too. I do like Buffalo. I also think it goes over the total. So, I’ll give you your first surf and turf of the year, Joe. See, you took us to the kitchen. I thought you were going to be the one with the whistle come next week in South Beach because it’s going fast right now. And if it goes that way in this one, more questions will need answers. Pete Prrisco, Todd Ferman. Many thanks as always. More to come here on Prime Time Pregame. You got to get up, take a little juice on the road. According to Brett B Lima, Scotch suffered a foot and ankle injury against Western Michigan on Saturday and hasn’t practiced this week. Scott has 43 tackles and four interceptions last year. It’s a big loss for Illinois as they try to stop an Indiana offense that’s averaging 52 points per game. For the first time ever, the WNBA has co-defensive players of the year. Back here on prime time pregame delivered by Little Caesars. Here’s a look at the most expensive DFS players for tonight. Bill’s quarterback Josh Allen will cost you the most with a price tag of $14,200. the most expensive Dolphin running back Devon Achain. For more on how to set your lineup, here’s the two-time fantasy analyst of the year, Jamie Eisenberg. We have a game tonight. I don’t know if it’s going to be a competitive game, but we have a game tonight between the Bills and the Dolphins. And there’s a FanDuel lineup that I’m going to play, but I’m going to be a little bit different with this lineup because there’s really only three guys that I want to play in this matchup. And that is Josh Allen, that is Devon Achan, and that is James Cook. You’re going to get production from other guys obviously. I think we’re going to see some fun activity from the Bills receivers in this matchup. So Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, they’re worth using if you want to go with the Bills stack. Hopefully Tyreek Hill and Tua come up with some plays as well. But I think for me, I’m going to lean on Josh Allen because he’s always been Superman against this Dolphins defense. I love what Devon Chan does, especially when the Dolphins are tra trailing and we expect that to be the case in this matchup. And James Cook’s off to a fantastic start. So I’m going to play those three guys and then you just kind of figure out the rest. So Riley Patterson’s going to be in this lineup as well. Josh Palmer who had a good week one uh for Buffalo in that comeback effort against the Ravens, not so much in week two because they didn’t throw the ball very much against the Jets. And then Ray Davis just because the point spread very heavily in the Bills favor. We could see them resting guys in the fourth quarter, resting James Cook after he does the heavy lifting and maybe Ray Davis is able to find the end zone. So play the three guys for me, Josh Allen, Devon Han, James Cook and just kind of figure out the rest. So you could throw an Elijah Moore in there if you want to. You can maybe look for another Dolphins receiver, but I’m going to go with Riley Patterson, Josh Palmer, and Ray Davis. the props that I’m going to play in tonight’s game. Devon Aan over five and a half receptions at minus 118. He had eight catches for 92 yards on 10 targets last week against the Patriots in the last two games against Buffalo at least seven catches each of the last two matchups. So again, expect them to be trailing to a leaning on Devon Aan as a pass catcher. I think that’s going to come through. And then James Cook over 69 and a half rushing yards at minus 112. He went for 21 carries, 132 yards, and two touchdowns last week for Buffalo against the Jets. Now he hasn’t exactly been great running the ball against the Dolphins, but this is a different James Cook. This is definitely a different Dolphins run defense. I don’t think they’re going to stop anything Buffalo throws at them. So, James Cook goes over the 69 and a half rushing yards and Devon Han over the five and a half receptions. Good stuff there. Some big games on the docket in week three, including the battle of the backups. Carson Wentz and the Vikings playing host to Jake Browning and the Bengals and NFC showdown between the Rams and Eagles. Also, a battle of that top spot in the AFC West. Chargers hosting the Broncos on CBS. As we are back, joined by Emry Hunt and we got our guy Todd Ferman here hanging out with us. And guys, I want to dive into some of the best bets for the rest of the weekend. And Todd, I want to look at a wager against the spread. What is catching your eye here in week three aside from the pups? So for me, I’m going to go to one of the ugliest ducklings on the board. And Emory loves to say games are won and lost in the trenches. One team is down what feels like more than 60% of the guys that are supposed to be in the trenches. And that would be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a short week after back-to-back emotional wins on the road against the Atlanta Falcons week one and on Monday Night Football against the Houston Texans. I think they get the Jets at the exact wrong time after the Jets were embarrassed by the Buffalo Bills in their own building. Quinnon Williams has said all the right things about a bounceback performance and Aaron Glenn has spoken glowingly about his mentor and Todd Bulls. I think you get the Jets at their absolute best. I don’t see a downgrade at the quarterback position and I think the Jets not only cover but are going to have a chance to win this game outright in Tampa Bay’s home opener. Oh wow. I like that one. I also like the fact that I’m just keep it simple. Browns Packers lay these seven and a half points with Green Bay. Cleveland right now is in crisis mode in terms of the quarterback position until they put one of those young guys in there. Whether it’s Shador Sanders or Dylan Gabriel, Joe Flacco, you were in a zone read with a 40-y old. This is about to get ugly like bowling shoes. Packers big. Lay the seven and a half points. I’ve seen some decent. No, you haven’t. Don’t lie. Don’t lie to America. You haven’t. It’s the new kind. You know what the new kids got going on. Okay, Emry, I want to keep things going. Who do you like on the money line this week? Who you looking at? I’m going to the backup bowl. I actually like Jake Browning over the Minnesota Vikings and Carson Wentz. I think Jake Browning has played some solid football with Cincinnati. He knows the system. He’s been in this organization. He’s four and three as the Bengals starter and as long as he can cut down on the turnovers, I think it bodess well for him uh long term for this Bengals team until Joe Burrow gets back. And right now in a oneame setting as a moneyline bet, I like the Bengals over Carson Winston the Vikings. Interesting. What you got, Todd? You know, Emory, it took it took us until week three, I think, for the first time all season, my friend. You and I are seeing a football game eye to eye. We are both on the Cincinnati Bengals here as live road underdogs going into the Twin Cities. You look at the change of quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, but that’s the only spot that this Bengals team is a little bit banged up. And Jake Browning has gone into this building before and acquitted himself quite nicely against the team that gave him his walking papers way back early on in his career. Meanwhile, for the Minnesota Vikings, you’re going to need a scorecard to figure out exactly who’s actually out there from their projected starters coming into the season. There are injuries in the backfield. There are injuries at the offensive line position, suspensions at wide receiver, linebackers that aren’t healthy. The list goes on and on. I am right there in lock step, my friend. and the Cincinnati Bengals outright against the Minnesota Vikings. All right, Bengals, different signal caller, but still same weapons there for Cincinnati. All right, I want to zero in on a little bit of offense, fellas. I want to look at some of the totals for this weekend slate. Emry, give me your best bet on a total. We sat down as Americans and we watched the Giants and Cowboys go back and forth with all those points, right? So, I look at this Bears Cowboys ball game and we saw the Bears give up like 60 points, 50 points, whatever last week. So that tells me we’re going to see a lot of points in this ball game. And I think this one will go over 50 and a half points. This is the best chance to be honest for Caleb Williams and that offense to really get going against this Cowboys secondary. And we know that Bears defense is down. Another one of their star players in the secondary. This is another opportunity for the Cowboys to get out there and hit the ground running throwing the football up and down the yard. This is probably going to be one of these 3530 type ball games. All right. The amount of disrespect here for the Matt Eberloose revenge game. His much anticipated return to Soldier Field. Going to be dominated by high-flying offenses and two defenses that can’t seem to get out of their own way. Don’t have any disagreement there. But I’m actually going to go out west for a showdown between two teams right now that have started the season 2 and 0 and sit at top the NFC West in a three-way tie and look for points early in the game between the 49ers and Arizona Cardinals. Now, this is a first half total that did take a little bit of money earlier today being bet up from 22 and a half to 23. But I’m optimistic that we’re going to get Brock Perie out there, even if it’s in a limited capacity. He’s going to have every opportunity possible to pick apart an Arizona defensive backfield that could be down two key contributors as they dealt with some cluster injuries at the position last week. Meanwhile, on the other side of things, this Arizona offense I think can do some of the damage in their own right as well. Look, this is a 49er stop unit. I think that’ll get better as the year progresses under Robert Salah’s leadership, but I didn’t love what I saw on the road last week against the Saints. I think we get plenty of points early in this NFC West showdown. Points early, whether it’s Brock or M. Jones, still yet to be seen, but I’ll take the points. All right, next up, Todd, I want to dive into the prop market. Who is a player prop that you’re eyeing? You know, normally for this segment, I love to root against human achievement, and I try and find players that are going to underwhelm where it matters most at the betting window. Uh, but this week, I’m going to take an optimistic approach with my eyes trained on that Pittsburgh Steelers backfield and look for Jaylen Warren to contribute, not as a runner, because I think he’ll get stacked up against this Patriots defensive front, but as a receiver. Look, the Steelers have said they need to get the ball in the hands of their playmakers. And for me, Warren is one of the more underutilized guys that they have on this Steelers offense. We saw it a week ago. New England struggled mightily to contain some of the explosive big play potential of Devin Han. And while I don’t think Jaylen Warren flirts with the century mark like we saw a week ago, going over 18 and a half feels like a very reasonable request if they want to split him out. I just don’t see them trying to run their heads into a brick wall against the Patriots run defense that has been good, but a pass defense that has been extremely vulnerable. Jaylen Warren over 18 and a half receiving yards. Michael Pennix and his do-rag. They take on the Carolina Panthers. They traveled to Charlotte to take on the Panthers. I like him to go over 214 and a half passing yards. He hadn’t had to do much yet throwing the football. This is a perfect opportunity for him to have some success throwing the ball deep down the field. I think he crushes that number this weekend against the Carolina Panthers. All right, fellas. Let’s wrap this up with my favorite one of them all. I’m looking at some parlays. Todd, throw some legs together. What you got for us? I mean, look, I got to try and find a way to get into the win column. I know Emry’s only got to win one all season when he’s got odds of like 10,000 to one each week when we do this exercise. I’m going to go chalky here and I’m going to take three favorites to pay out a shade less than two to one. Look, I don’t think it’s as big a downgrade against this Raiders defense if the Commanders have to turn to Marcus Mariota from Jaden Daniels. The Chiefs playing in desperation mode. I think they’ll find a way in prime time to get the better of the Giants. and on Monday night. Look, we’ve grown accustomed to this Ravens team raising their level of play when they get opponents from the NFC in their own building. I know the market is moving against me, but I’m just looking for a lowly Ravens win. I know it’s not a lot. 25 bucks to get us 50 in return plus 198. Embry put me to shame, my friend, with a 37 leg parlay that’s going to pay out 100 million to one. You got that right, Todd. 25 to win you 50. That’s not a parlay. This is a parlay. Give me the Raiders over Washington. modest. This is lowhanging fruit right here. 33 to1. I don’t even know who you are anymore. Exactly. I had to find the value. Falcons going to Carolina. We talked about that. The Bengals straight up over Minnesota. I like the Eagles over the Rams. I like the Ravens over the Detroit Lions and the Packers laying the seven and a half against the Browns. And when this hit, I’m getting everybody a banana colored Sebring fleet. Everybody get one. And we also get a lifetime gift certificate to Rob’s place in Watt’s best burgers, fries, and shakes in town. When you go there, ask for Shirley. I’ll make sure to do just that, fellas. Good luck on those bets. Appreciate that. Well, coming up this Sunday on CBS, it’s a special throwback edition of the NFL Today celebrating the show’s 50th anniversary. And we got to start with the headliner in this one. That being Josh Allen. Emory, how do you want to play him? I like Buffalo to win big. So I like Josh Allen to have a big night. Over 238 and a half passing yards for Allen. I love how he’s getting everybody involved. No one number one receiver. Look for Josh Allen to have a big night tonight throwing the football. I love the synergy already. Great minds thinking alike. I’m taking Josh Allen throwing two touchdowns. He’s going over one and a half passing touchdowns. Until your point, I think he’s going to have a heck of a night. He put up pedestrian numbers last week. So, this is a get right moment for Josh Allen on a national stage. Thursday Night Football, he’s 7 and0. He’s going to have a MVP- like performance. I got to be honest, we’re in a we’re in a different formation right now for practice. We’re used to 21 package. That’s two desk, one wall. Uh we have changed to all three at the wall. We’re going we’re going spread it out and let’s take a look at some of the top targets in this game. Mac, how do you want to play a pass catcher for the Buffalo Bills specifically? Well, Joe Emory, anytime you enter into the stadium with no shirt on, but with a hoodie, that means you mean business. So, I’m taking Keon Coleman anytime touchdown. He has emerged to be the wide receiver one for this Buffalo Bills offense. And it seems like the relationship is well established now with Josh Allen trusting the secondyear pro at the wide receiver position in Keon Coleman. So give me Keon Coleman anytime touchdown. And because I like BMAX anytime touchdown prop, I’ll raise you more by giving him over 43 and a half yards receiving. Can’t name anybody really on the corners of that Dolphins secondary. Plus they can’t get pressure. That’s a recipe for disaster tonight. Bare-chestedness also recipe for disaster. We won’t. Uh, James Cook, our next topic here, Emory Hunt, how we play in the back again. It feels like Buffalo can get it wherever they want it in this matchup, but how much they just lean into the run tonight. Well, I I was looking at my paper because I had a nice number down there. James Cook over 69 and a half rushing yards. This is an easy number for him to hit. He’s one of those guys. He’s a slasher, I like to call it. Joe fumbled it all over there already. So, I like James Cook to go over 69 and a half yards rushing. Hey Joe, every week we have our prop quiz. Emory is looking on my paper to get my answers because I have the same exact thing. So, let me find out. You continue to steal some of my information. But you know what? I don’t knock it. I don’t hate it. We’re all trying to make money here. So, yes, I’m right there with you. James Cook over 69 in a hook. So, you gave us cool nuggets as well. But, I like to add something to what you stated, Emory. When you look at James Cook in totality against the Miami Dolphins, he’s seen limited opportunities. So why is this number so high? You know why, Joe? Vegas, they’re begging you to take the under. I’m doing the opposite. I’m taking the over. I think he’s going to have a huge rushing night for the Bills. Never fumbled, no drops in my life. To a tongue of Aloa, if they’re going to have a chance here, has to play big. Mack, there has to be an urgency behind this offensive attack. The idea of getting Tyreek the ball early and often. And we’ll get to Tyreek in a second, but how you playing Tua? Dang, you just said some real good things in terms of being optimistic with Tua. I’m sorry, Dolphin fans. I got to be real. I got Tua to throw an interception. I have him to throw an interception. What we’ve seen in two ball games for Tua Tonga, three interceptions, two against Indie, one last week against the New England Patriots. For whatever reason, he’s not seeing the football field well. He hasn’t been protected as best as he would like. And against this Buffalo Bills defense, a very very opportunistic unit. I think they will get at least one interception in four quarters of play. So give me two to throw one interception because they don’t like to run the football. This is an easy number for me to hit over 23 and a half completions. And no one of those can’t be an interception. I already checked, but he will complete at least 24 passes tonight because they don’t run the football. And I think as long as Mike McDaniels, the head football coach, the East West game is going to be paramount. They’re going to try to get the ball in those hands, those speedy wide receivers a lot. I like him to go over that number. All right, flesh it out one further. Tyreek Kell, how do we correlate to a play there? His longest reception over 23 and a half yards. I think that’s an easier number for him to hit. In my opinion, he’s a game breaker. You got to get away got to get to find a way to get him involved early, get him happy. That’s one way to do so. Well, for me, he’s a game breaker, but not against the Buffalo Bills. Throughout his entire career playing against the Bills, going back to his Kansas City days, he’s only surpassed over 67 receiving yards three times. He’s played against Buffalo nine times. So, I have to take that trend to see the same thing that we’ve seen throughout the majority of his outings against the Buffalo Bills. Whether it’s with Kansas City or the Miami Dolphins, he struggles surpassing 67 receiving yards. So, give me under Tyreek Hill’s receiving yard prop, 67 in a hook. All right, so two different ways to play Tyreek in this one coming up. We’re all thinking about the end zone. When we get these two gentlemen together, you know, we need a play. Mac, your first touchdown score for a matter of record is who? My first time first touchdown is a guy who walked in with no shirt. Well, you don’t walk in with no shirt and a bunch of ice around the neck. You You got to score a touchdown, right Joe? You have to. So, I have an anytime touchdown already that I gave you guys. So, I’m going to double down and go first touchdown to the shirtless Keon with the ice around his neck. What? Mac. Well, thank you. You took it to the ice because that ice don’t know if it’s an O or a zero, but it doesn’t bode well if you need one touchdown, especially the first touchdown. I know it’s a zero, Matt. Your first touchdown. It’s a bad omen to be wearing that number. Anyway, I would say James Cook going into the end zone first. I actually like what Josh Allen has done so far this season. We was talking about him all offseason as a touchdown merchant. I imagine how many touchdowns James Cook could have had if Josh Allen didn’t steal him at the goal line. Well, we saw against the Jets, they gave the ball to James Cook. I like him to get the into the end zone first. Emry Hunt and Bryant McFeden offering their prop plays in anticipation of Thursday night football. Week three is here and we got one more play before kick coming up. We put it all on the line for everybody’s best. Throw out a visor, why don’t you? I think it fogged up. Here we go. The 2025 CBS Sports NFL schedule is here. 18 glorious Sundays. But you can always count on Sundays with the NFL on CBS and Paramount Plus. You know, this is prime time pregame and we always come bearing gifts. It’s that time. Time to put it all on the line. One walk to the window, everybody’s best. Todd Ferman, give us a winner. Thanks, Joe. And look, when you see a number of this magnitude in a divisional game, it’s tough to try and make a compelling case to lay the points with the favor. Even if you think they may score every time they have the football, let’s hope, at least from a competitive balance standpoint, the Dolphins provide a little bit of resistance. But in terms of where we’re going to go for our best bet on tonight’s game, it’s a player prop market and I’m going to focus on that Bills receiving room on a player who has been kind of flying under the radar at least through the first two weeks of the season. Keon Coleman was the impact player week one. Everybody more or less got week two off against the New York Jets. But I think this is where Khalil Shakir breaks out. Just 11 targets. so far this season, seven receptions and a modest 76 yards receiving. His overunder tonight sits at 42 and a half, but he should have plenty of opportunity to operate from that slot area with ruthless efficiency against the Dolphins defense that quite frankly hasn’t been challenged by that position in their first two games of the season against the Colts and the Patriots. I think Khalil Shakir can be a high volume receiver. He can be a safety blanket and wouldn’t be surprised if Josh Allen even used him to stretch the field a bit more today. It’s more or less picking your poison with Josh Palmer, Dalton, King Kade, Keon Coleman, etc. But I’m going to take the by low opportunity on Khalil Shakir over 42 and a half receiving yards. BMAC, the Dolphins could probably use your help in the defensive backfield, but I don’t think you can be down Western New York in time for tonight’s kickoff. Instead, how are you getting us to the window with a best bet? Well, Todd, the way how my dessert uh menu is set up, I’m not available tonight for the Miami Dolphins. So, with that being said, I got to take Josh Allen with my all in all on the line bet. I’m taking Josh Allen to throw two passing touchdowns over his over touchdown passing prop number set at one in a hook. And the reason why you talked about the concerns with the Miami secondary, those concerns will surface once again against one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League. And like I said earlier in the show, he had a pedestrian-like week last week against the New York Jets. Even though they won easily, he didn’t put forth the numbers that we’ve grown accustomed to see with Josh Allen. You better believe on a national stage. A get right moment is there for Josh Allen and he will get right. So give me Josh Allen throwing two touchdowns tonight against the Miami Dolphins. Emory, how’s your dessert menu set up? Lactose is undefeated. BMAC, remember that. I will say this, this is a conference game, a divisional game. So yes, they will come out inspired. They know what’s at stake. I expect the Miami Dolphins to play this one tough. This is going to be a long slow choke out for the Buffalo Bills. I can see them winning this ball game 24-10. So, in that case, I am laying the 11 and a half points with Buffalo. Kiana, what you have for us? You guys keep talking about Miami secondary and their WO. So, I’m going to play into that. I’m looking at that connection with Josh Allen and Dalton Concincaid. Over the first two games this season, averaging 41 42 and a half points per game. He’s averaging 10 targets. And then you look at his career facing Miami averaging 44 yards. Well, his numbers currently set at 33 and a half. I think this is a slam dunk. I’m taking concaid over that number. Joe, what you got? Shout out to my teammates at Illinois Wesley and the Harvard of the Midwest. Everyone knows that. We used to have a saying called dessert first. You go get that thing right now. First quarter. I think it’s early and often here from the Buffalo offense. They’ve scored 30 plus in both games prior and this is the easiest defense that they’ve faced thus far. Give me over the team total of 31 a2. Everybody eats and here’s how. Todd Furman taking it to Khalil Shakir for his breakout day over the 42 and a half. BMAC is on Josh Allen to the end zone times two or more. Emory Hunt laying the points with the home side. Kean’s on concade over his receiving yards. And I’m taking you just to Buffalo. Team total over 31 a half. That’s going to do it for prime time pregame. We hope you had as much fun as we did. Enjoy the action, but be sure to be here postgame for full highlights and analysis on CBS Sports HQ. Here we go. The 2025 CBS Sports NFL schedule is here. 18 glorious Sundays. He’s got his receiver. But you can always count on Sundays with the NFL on CBS and Paramount Plus. Well, for the second straight day, 49ers quarterback Brock Perie was back at practice. Pertie recovering from both toe and shoulder injury suffered during San Francisco’s season opening win over the Seahawks opposed to just the starter both Pertie and backup quarterback M. Jones spoke with the media on Thursday. Here’s Perty on his progress from his injuries. Yeah, I mean exactly that. It’s it’s been a a day-to-day thing this week and um I feel like I’m happy with the progress that I’ve been making with my with my foot and toe and um so more than anything it’s it’s just going to be a day-to-day thing on how I feel. Um, nothing really more to that. So, uh, definitely just gota got to see, you know, come game time how I feel. It’s not obviously I want to play every game, dude. Like, I want to be out there. We only get 17 regular season games and and, uh, every every game matters, especially a divisional, you know, going against Cardinals. So, um, if you ask me, I’ I’d love to, but I mean, I’m trying to be smart with my body here and and, uh, but you never know. We’ll we’ll see when game comes. Her back joined by Emory Hunt, the two-time champ Brian McFaden. And Kyle Shanahan did say this week there is a chance. Brock Pertie could be back under center after originally being expected to miss multiple weeks. He was a limited participant the last two days, but just BMAC when you look at these recent string of events, Brock Party saying he wants to be smart. He’s taking this dayto-day. How do you see this playing out on Sunday? I think they need to be overly cautious with their star quarterback and Brock Pury. And here’s why. You’re 2 and 0, right? and one of your victories came against a division of folk. So, I don’t necessarily want to say you’re playing with house money, but you kind of you kind of are playing with house money, seeing where you’re currently sitting uh with your overall win loss record. And then when you just look around throughout the entire National Football League, we just saw what happened to Joe Burrow, right? Seeing that he is potentially out until late December. If you’re the San Francisco 49ers, you want to make sure your quarterback is ready to go, right? not me mo not just mentally but physically as well. So just hearing that he was a limited participant in practice so far this week I don’t think he’s quite ready to go and if you force him into action you might he might have a setback that could linger for an a a a longer period of a time compared to where he currently sits. So me personally, Emory, if he’s not ready to go, if he can’t give you a full good work day getting ready for this game against the Arizona Cardinals, sit him out one week, one more week and get ready for the next week. I totally agree because at the end of the day, we watched the Arizona Cardinals front seven do a great job in bringing down uh Bryce Young last week with the Carolina Panthers. And if you can’t get out there and play your game, which is predicated on mo mobility, then it’ll be tough for him to get out there and be Brock Pury in a situation where he’s not 100%. M. Jones did well enough against New Orleans. I can expect him to do the same thing if not a little bit better against Arizona. You can kind of take this week off, get him fully healthy because again, yeah, we’re seeing him doing limited practice with no pads on and just a helmet or whatnot and shells. This is different than a in an actual football game in a divisional opponent where they going to get after you and try to make you not play for the rest of the season. I would say sit this one out. I think especially considering the game that M. Jones had, statistically one of the best games of his career. I think you roll with what’s working. Well, meanwhile, preparation for the Jake Browning era continues in Cincinnati. Browning will be the Bengals starter while Jer Burrow recovers from turftoe. Browning started seven games for Cincinnati in 2023 after Earl tore a ligament in his wrist. After practice on Thursday, Jamar Chase talked about the confidence the team has in their new start. Yeah, I think pretty much everybody in the locker room is pretty confident in Jake. Uh Jake showing what he could do. Uh he’s been here for the past couple years and you know he’s been doing his job when he’s been called for called on. Um he’s won tough games for us in bad position. So you know he he’s found his way to dig himself out the hole. How does that feel not having Joe around? Uh I mean it’s definitely different. I mean your start quarterback is not in the room every day. You know what I’m saying? Of course it feels different but um it’s a part of football man. It’s not something that every team goes through. Um, unfortunately, not everybody going through what we’re going through, but everybody go through the same thing. It’s just about how you react to it and how you adjust to the situation. Okay. Well, obviously his wide out, plenty of confidence in Jake Browning, but Emry, where’s your confidence level? Is right there. I have confidence in Jake Brown. He’s four and three as a starter in Cincinnati. He has the confidence of the team and he has confidence against this opponent who he’s got cut by and let them know that, hey, you shouldn’t have cut me. This what you get for cutting me. We all seen that clip where he was screaming on the sidelines. So, I like him going into this matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. And you see right there, four and three as a starter, 72% completion percentage. You know, obviously he needs to cut down on these interceptions. He has seven, but at the end of the day, I like how he was thrown thrown into the fire last week against Jacksonville, threw an interception, and then brought that team back and scored the game with a touchdown. So, I like that for him. I like this for Zack Taylor, the head football coach. I like this for the Cincinnati Bengals as a whole. Yeah, I’m right there with you, Emory. I have confidence in Jake Brownie being able to jump in and weather the storm and make the necessary plays because to Kiana’s point, he started a handful of ball games in 2023 and played fairly well. Now, when you look at what we saw last week, he kind of was forced into action not getting a full week of prep as the number one guy at the quarterback position. So, I look to see him be more comfortable this week knowing that he is the starting quarterback. He’s received all the reps that he needs to receive for him to be at his best. And then also too, when you look at the luxury that he has at the pass catching position and and who he’s throwing the football to, that should help him as well make plays even though he’s playing against a very very feisty aggressive defense uh in the Minnesota Vikings. But like I said, we’ve seen him play good football in these situations before. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the same thing. A backup walking into a luxury of riches. Maybe not the same situation on the opposite side of the field for the Vikings, but there’s a familiar face returning to Chicago on Sunday. Former Bears head coach Matt Eberloose. He’s going to be the on the opposing sidelines as the Cowboys defensive coordinator. Ibraflute became the first Bears coach to be fired during the season after going 14 and 32 during his tenure in Chicago on Thursday. He downplayed the significance of his return terms of uh you know going back to Chicago um and playing uh with our fellas there and all the guys. you know, we’re keeping the process and our preparation the same as we always do. And um you know, it’s I’m always grateful, you know, and have much gratitude for my whole coaching career, you know. So, um I always look back at everything how you can learn, how you can grow, um and get better and improve. And uh that’s the biggest part of experience. There’s always hard moments um you know, in coaching. You know, you always are disappointed when you lose and uh because you put so much into it. you know, the players put so much into it and you’re most disappointed for the players and it’s uh it’s and then once that settles in and you work to the next day, you know, the sun comes up and you move forward. You know, you learn, you grow, and you you keep going and um that’s what true grit is, right? And uh that’s what we’re all about. What do you think the reaction is going to be Sunday for you? I haven’t thought about it. He hasn’t thought about it. 14 to 32 record in Chicago. That’s the third worst winning percentage in Chicago Bears history. But I want to be honest, Chicago has been dealing with their share of struggles. But BMAC, he said he hasn’t put too much thought into it. What do you believe him? Yeah, I I honestly believe him because unfortunately it didn’t work out for either side when Matt Eberloose was the head coach there in terms of wins and reaching the level of expectations that many had for him throughout his time there in Chicago. But one thing we can say, he wasn’t like he left on bad terms. You know, from everything that I’ve heard while he was there in Chicago, he’s a stand-up guy, well-liked in the media, you know, well liked in the city. He just didn’t win ball games. And that’s the that’s the nature of coaching in the National Football League. When you don’t win enough ball games, they will find a way to replace you. And he understands that. But I do believe he doesn’t he’s not concerned about how he will be received. He’s just wanted to put together a great game plan for his defense to get the necessary stops for them to be in a position to beat the Chicago Bears. And if you’re if you’re the Chicago Bears fans, I think that’s the last thing you’re worried about anyway. Matt Eberloose, he’s that that’s the that’s the past. Now it’s about trying to find a way to play winning football so you can have a reason to have a good Monday because they have had bad Mondays since the NFL season has started because they’re 0 and2. 0 and2. So I think that’s more of a concern than anything if you’re cheering for the Chicago Bears. You’re not worried about Matt Everl. You’re worried about what type of product will be on the football field because those fans are tired of having drunken Mondays since the season has started. He’s lucky he’s the defensive coordinator and not the head coach because they’re not going to boo the defensive coordinator at least to the extent that you think they’re going to boo him. Now, they’ll boo him when he shows up on a jumbotron. And if the stadium uh videographer is doing his best job, you’ll have him on a jumbotron a lot, right? But he won’t get booed as if he was the head coach or the opposing starting quarterback. His focus is to make sure his defense doesn’t put on another performance like we saw last week against the New York Giants. Because if we’re being completely honest and looking at this personnel that the Bears have, they have better personnel at the receiver position, at tight end, and in the back field than the New York Giants. So, the potential is there for them to put up 60 points. So, it’s up to make sure it’s about a good 10 and then he’ll have the last laugh. All right, the focus not so much on who the defensive coordinator is, it’s about getting in the win column for the Bears. Fellas, as always, appreciate the insight. Thank you. Well, coming up Sunday on CBS, we have a sixpack of must-see matchups. First at 1 pm, it’ll be Jake Browning and the Bengals. We’re just talking about this matchup taking on Carson Wentz and the Vikings. Aaron Rogers and the Steelers paying a visit to Drake May and the Patriots. 2 and 0 Colts led by Daniel Jones. Indiana Jones squaring off against Cam Warden, the Titans. And then at 405, Justin Herbert and the Chargers facing Bo Knicks and the Broncos. You can stream all the action over on Paramount Plus. But before we get to Sundays, we got to get to Thursdays. Currently out at Orchard Park, it’s the Dolphins who got on the board first up 7 nothing. Buffalo starting their opening

  1. Our front 7 cant do chit so far against the bills, seiler has been manhandled and since being paid hasnt done nothing!! Our d line was supposed to be our bread and butter! Fml so far Our d sucks

  2. A total corrupt rip-off, “ruffing the kicker – this was a corrupt lie, the Dolphin player was clearly already falling towards the kicker and they call him for “ruffing”,then Buffalo scores. This is blatant treason to NFL rules and corruption. This referee and whomever allowed this should be fired. I’m 55, not 25, I’ve seen it all. This is clearly a Buffalo “pay to win game”. Embarrassing!!!

  3. Have been a bills fan my whole life but my god this qb Allen sucks !! Wtf has he done ? Over payed and being thrown around by Miami really Miami the worst team for 45 straight years wow no thanks I can not keep cheering for this bum Allen
