Great time to do so cuz we got a lot of action lined up this week coming up. We got Major League Baseball on the board, WNBA playoffs, we’ve got week four college football, week three NFL. For the Athletics, it’s Luis Severino listed as a starter in this one. For the Pirates, it is Mitch Keller getting the nod in this one. And you know, Severino, you know, has definitely had some solid outings for, you know, the better part of the season, especially since coming back from the injured list. And, you know, you look at some of his recent outings. His last one wasn’t the best, but before that he was in a nice run of form. But still, going back to the All-Star break, we’ve seen Severino post a 3.79 ERA. And in three starts in the month of September, he does have an RA around four and a half where he’s given up eight runs in 15 innings of work, three home runs as well. But I still think Severino is a quality option in this game. And the thing about Severino is that if you look at his home and road splits for much of the season, it’s pretty much played out that way the entire year. you know, at home in Sacramento in that hitters Haven at Sutter Health Park, a 6.51 erra compared to a 3.11 erra and a 214 opponent’s batting average on the road. He’s given up 31 extra base hits at home, but only 17 on the road. So, I do think that, you know, Severino could have a good start here against a Pirates lineup that for me is just playing out the string at this point. They’ve, you know, they were providing value in spots earlier on in the season and even, you know, around the All-Star break. They even had a couple nice little win streaks coming out of the break. But, you know, in the la in the month of September so far, dead last in batting average against right-handed pitching. The team OPS numbers are dead last by a mile, as are the isolated power numbers. And I think that, you know, the Athletics, you know, are just a team that can provide, you know, some pop in those bats. I mean, they’re they’re scheduled to face Mitch Keller here. I don’t see it confirmed, so we’ll have to see if that ends up being the case on Friday. But, you know, under the assumption that they are facing, you know, Keller, I I got to think that, you know, the Pirates are in some trouble here. Keller’s been getting rocked. And even if if the Athletics don’t face Keller here, this is still an athletics lineup that’s been playing some of their best baseball the season in the second half. You know, they had their five-game win streak snapped on Wednesday, but managed to bounce back on Thursday with a victory. They’ve won six of seven entering this game. And I just, like I said, like the value that we’re getting here with the Athletics. So yeah, I I just think run support’s going to continue to be a problem for any Pirates pitcher that takes the mound in the last week and a half. I’m going to roll with the athletics in this one on the money line and that’s going to be my free pick.
