11 years ago today: Derek Jeter sent one last Bronx-bound souvenir into the stands, a final home run that echoed through Yankee Stadium and the hearts of fans everywhere.

2. I was at this game. I actually saw his last and second to last Yankee Stadium home runs in person.

4. I went to two games in September, one against Tampa and one of the early games in that last series against the Orioles. I was in college. Where did the time go? The world these days can be frustrating and cruel, but sports gives us a much needed escape. Jeter and the rest of those guys gave us so many great memories growing up.

6. My childhood hero. God I was blessed to grow up as a kid watching those Yankees.
