This has been like watching the first eps of a series to kill time, then really getting into it and binge watching

I went and got the motions, transcripts of the lender lawsuit, the transcripts of Sanberg and his co-conspirator and that of a lender. So far. Attached is stuff i didn't know.

The numbers are what ballmer and wong were shown when they invested in 22/23

One is the other crook saying he got a friend to give him 20m to put in, but did it in his own name (so when ballmer did his 10). As I get more I'll add more.

He then attaches 4 images that show his findings:

Image 1: Cash Flow Statement

This shows Aspiration’s financials. They started the period with about $212 million in cash but burned through more than $100 million in nine months, ending with around $104 million left. Most of the losses came from operating costs.

Image 2: Investor Diligence Email

This is an internal email with questions from an investment firm and the company’s responses. It covers things like how much money had converted from the PIPE deal, whether certain shares were pledged, how they valued their carbon credit inventory, and upcoming debt deadlines.

Image 3: Deposition Transcript

This is part of a sworn testimony where a co-conspirator admits that instead of a lender investing directly into Aspiration, he had a friend give him $20 million and put it under his own name. The lawyer objects when more questions are asked about Aspiration.

Image 4: Deposition Transcript

This page of the transcript shows questioning about whether insiders told shareholders about an upcoming public auction of shares. The witness admits they were told not to notify anyone, and says that direction came from insiders like the board, the CEO, or possibly Sanberg.

ELI5:

Aspiration was losing money but wanted to look important, so it showed Ballmer and Wong nice-looking numbers to convince them to invest. That made the company seem more legit than it really was. Behind the scenes, the people running Aspiration were secretly moving money around and not even telling investors the whole truth.

This helps push along Cuban’s narrative that Leonard, Ballmer, and Wong were all ensnared by Aspiration’s scheme rather than conspirators within it to commit cap circumvention since those within its own corporation didn’t know what was going on with high-level transactions such as the $20M one that was mentioned in the transcripts.

Edit: Victim was the wrong word, more like Cuban is implying Leonard was entangled/ensnared by Aspiration. Used as a piece to “legitimize” their scheme alongside the presences of the Clippers organization, Wong and Ballmer

  1. Okay really why is Cuban so invested at this point? Even if it was discovered he did the same with Dirk would the NBA even have the authority to do anything about it? He’s not the owner of the Mavs anymore and doesn’t run basketball operations.

  2. You know, it’s honestly surprising Cuban has been going to great lengths to try and clear Balmer’s name when he really doesn’t have to.

I still think this is cap circumventing, though.

  3. Pablo Torre read a tweet on his podcast that said:
    > “I’m starting to think that Mark Cuban is Steve Ballmer’s burner human.”

Which was not only hilarious, but also starting to become the only logical explanation.

  4. >so it showed Ballmer and Wong nice-looking numbers to convince them to invest

Didn’t Wong’s first investment paperwork specify Aspiration was in default!?

  5. Ah so Wong and Ballmer were the only ones stupid enough to invest despite all the disclosures plus KPMG resigning and they also decided to pay twice as much per share than when Ballmer invested 18 months ago.

Okay Mark, you turned down Aspiration immediately in 2021 without seeing any disclosures but Ballmer isn’t smart enough to figure it out even in March 2023.

  6. Two things can be true. Aspiration could have scammed balmer and clippers into thinking they were legit and balmer could have used this supposedly “legit” company to circumvent the cap.

  7. Cuban is coming off like he can’t imagine a little plebe like Torre can come after one of his billionaire bodies. He’s doing everything in his power to discredit him. This is like MJ levels of taking it personal when it’s not even your fucking team that’s being investigated.

  8. WHY WAS KAWHAI’S DEAL SECRETIVE?

WHY WAS IT A PRIORITY FOR THEM TO MAKE KAWHAI’S PAYMENTS OVER ALL OTHER CREDITORS?

  9. If anybody could explain how Aspiration expected to receive even a **ONE SINGLE DOLLAR** as a ROI from signing Kawhi to a $28M endorsement deal where he is required to do absolutely nothing, I would be significantly less suspicious of Ballmer.

But, at least for now, 2+2 still equals four, the sky is blue and grass is green. So as long as that’s the case, I’m not fucking buying that Aspiration was so stupid they thought setting $28M on fire was better than doing **LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE WITH IT.**

  10. Ballmer’s second and Wong’s investment contract specifically stipulates how bad the company was doing. Both outline that Aspiration’s independent auditor had resigned. There were articles on the dire straits the company was in. It was abundantly clear that the company was falling apart.

If Ballmer and Wong were conned, they’re the dumbest fucking people around.

  11. Still don’t see how any of this makes the Kawhi deal legit. It’s insanely high and was no-show work.

  12. Mark, nothing can logically explain Kawhi getting paid more than multiple celebrities combined, all of whom are vastly more famous in the mainstream than him, to do literally nothing.

  13. Again ONE QUESTION:

Why did Aspiration pay Kawhi Leonard $48 million to do nothing?

That is it. I don’t need or care for anything else anymore. That is the smoking gun until someone can answer that with a legitimate reason.

  14. So wong’s daughter wouldn’t tell her dad all the shit going on and let him waste 2 mil? lol

And the Forbes articles that were circulating about how shady this company was in 2023…Ballmer somehow missed those before dumping more money into it?

  15. A chunk of Cuban’s theory is that you must understand Ballmer is so smart he would notice and avoid any cap circumvertion.

You must also understand that Ballmer was the only investor dumb enough to have the wool pulled over their eyes and put money into the lying company

  16. Some of these replies are hilarious.

Cuban is going to get into politics. Balmer has more money than most anyone. As we can see this is a big thing. Cmon people. This is an easy win to solidify an ally

  17. Cuban is seizing on an investment opportunity of his own. Cuban is investing in Ballmer right now. We’ll see his return on investment in a few years.

Mark my words, Ballmer invests or helps Cuban in a significant way.

  18. Piss off. We’re not stupid. This was blatant salary cap avoidance and cheating. It’s making the NBA look like a joke and the more they protest the more it’s worth looking into every team and their financial practices.
