Frank Nazar on Discipline | Chicago Blackhawks
with the contract. Is there comes with it? A motivation I’m sure that comes with it. I mean, you guys are motivated, but when you know somebody’s faith and you have a couple years, I’m guessing it’s time. Um, no, honestly, it’s not motivation. It’s just discipline. Um, discipline and being me, being myself, holding my values, uh, coming in the rink every day, working hard, getting better, practicing, taking care of my body. It’s it’s all those things and I mean it’s not motivation, it’s just being disciplined in what I do and um just keep building from there. I know it’s only season but just what’s been the initial honestly it’s it’s been a lot of fun. It’s pretty funny. Like he’s drawn up drills that I’ve basically done the last like four years of my life. like being from Michigan and everything like everyone steals his drills and um I think like legit like 75% of them what I’ve done my whole life growing up and kind of used to it and it’s honestly it’s been a lot of fun. I love those practices. I love those skates. I love the grind, the work, the competition. Um you know looking at the guy next to you after he hits you and laughing, you know, something like that. And I I love that stuff. So it’s it’s been fun. Is that a bit of a relief that that there’s so much familiarity? I mean you have a new coach. I mean, you really thinking, okay, what’s what’s going to be thrown at him, but I got to get used to it here. Um, I mean, obviously it’s like seeing a drill. I know know I’m like, okay, like try to lead the way, get first in line, do all these things. Obviously, make some mistakes here and there, but as I say, you got to learn from those. But, um, no, I think it’s like you got to go out every day and earn it and show show them who you are. What are some of the things you worked on this summer that you coming into this year that you’re stronger? compared to when you came up last year. Honestly, I think it’s just the tiny nitpick things, passing, catching passes, um, making plays under pressure. It’s kind of just a bunch of bunch of stuff combined. I don’t think it was anything super specific. I think I ended on a very strong high note and I felt really good ending the year and kind of carry on those things that I was working at the end of that year like those touches and all those things that kind of help me succeed towards the end. when you’ve got some defensive growing for you that’s trying to bring this team together a lot. Like that’s that’s part of the reason I signed early and you know I I signed that long long-term deal. It’s cuz like I want to show guys like I want to be here for a long time and I’m ready to work no matter what the circumstances are. Win, lose, whatever. last in the league, middle of the pack, top of the top of the league. Like, I’m going to be here. I’m going to work hard. And, you know, that’s that’s the end goal is to make the playoffs and, you know, keep going forward with that and hopefully win one day and um kind of just prove that that’s what I I want to do in the long term.

There is no motivation. Only discipline.
