Brewers vs. Cardinals Game Highlights (9/19/25) | MLB Highlights
The final road trip of the regular season begins now as the NL Central rivals wrap up their season series over the next three days. The magic number for Milwaukee is four to clinch their fourth National League Central title in the last 5 years. And the magic number to have the postseason run all the way through American Family Field is six as the Brewers look to clinch the top overall seed in the postseason. This is actually a repeat of a sunny gray. Jacob Mizerowski matchup. He threw 95 pitches in that one in just five innings of work. The Brewers made him work. He faced 18 batters. 13 Milwaukee Brewers batters had at bats go five pitches or more. So look for the Brewers to do the same thing this time out. Sal Frillic is going to lead things off for the Brewers who have the best road record of any team in the major leagues. That one center cut top of the zone. Generously called and 5’8 in South Freelick takes strike three to start the game. So one away and that’ll get Jackson Cheurio to the plate as he rips one back up the middle in a base hit. Cheerio hits a bullet back through the box and the Brewers have their first hit. A man on with one out. Christian Yelich is the Brewers DH. Another special season for Yelich. He’s a homer shy of his second career 30 homer 100 RBI year. And he shoots that one into the gap in right center field. They had him squeezed in the gap. So it’ll be only a single for Yelich, but backto-back hits. And the Brewers have runners at first and second with one out. Brewers coming in hot with runners in scoring position. Popped him up. Will it stay in play? Aronado gallops over middle of the warning track and that takes care of the Brewers catcher. Big second out for Sunny Gray as this is Bryce Terra. He spent a lot of time in the leadoff spot, but the evolution mark of this Brewers offense has him in the middle of the lineup as a run producer. A swing and a miss down on strikes. Bryce Dang Sunny struck out two in the inning and left two on the Cardinals coming to bat at Bush Stadium. Let’s see if Msarowski can rein it in a little bit on the home stretch. Vinnie, he’s at an innings level that he has never been. So there is some concern about that. So back-to- back walks for Mizowski to start up this first inning. And Alec Burlson will be the batter for the crew. Pops that into short left field. A long run in for Collins. He makes a sliding catch for the first down. That’s a big first out to get for Jacob Mizerowski after walking the first two hitters. One down for Nolan Aronado. Longest tenur position player on the Cardinals. And that one is going to be knocked down by Durban. goes to second for the out. What a play that looked destined for left field. Prevent a run from scoring but to get it out. Wow. This play right here. Look at how far and outstretched he is to get to this baseball. Prevented a run but then also got an out. That is absolutely huge for Jacob Mizerowski more than anybody. So now first and third with two outs and the batter is Lars Nar to center field. Lars Nar with a two out hit. Aronado all the way around to third. Now they’ve got N bar in a run down. Cardinals trying to steal another run, but the tagout will retire the side. So the Cardinals get a run, but a base running mistake ends the inning. We played one one- nothing Cardinals. Isaac Collins, a 28-year-old rookie, is leading off the second inning. He’s had a super season, the rookie of the month in July, and he’s down on strikes. Sunny Gray’s got three of those in a good start to the second inning. Caleb Durban out of WashU, the third baseman for the Milwaukee Brewers. He has some fans here and friends here. That came back. Strike three for Gray. Four of those in the game. Jake Bowers steals his eighth base. The tying run is at second base. The 3-2 pitch for Ortiz with a runner on second and two down. The runner breaks for third and there’s a ground ball to the first baseman. Fielded by Burles who wins the race to the bag, leaving Bowers on base in scoring position. So it’s a third walk already. does not look fluid tonight. He’s given up three walks and a single. Pat Murphy’s getting a little anxious already. The major concern is that the Brewers are pushing Miserowski and you want to find out what that limit is. Lind over second. Good trip to the plate. So JC cuts the bag at second. And the Cardinals have first and third with nobody out. Now it’s Jordan Walker. Spot for Jordan. He’s got to make contact. And Mark, that’s really been the problem for him the last 13 games. Ground ball back up the middle. Standing right on the bag is Terraang. And he’ll turn two. Cardinals get another run, but it’s a double play ball. Terra so silky smooth. He got his body in position to glove that while standing on the base. He’ll certainly trade those two outs for the run. That brings up Victor Scott, number nine hitter. Did he go? He did. And it’s a strikeout. No appeal asked for. It is the first strike out of the night for Jacob Mizarowski. South Freelick wanted to get stronger, be more of a threat, a power threat in the box last off season and he has done just that. He’s got a chance to win a batting title this year. Just hit two homers last season and that one is deep to right on Q. Selick sends one out and a big fly at that. No doubter. S Freelick with number 12 and the Brewers are on the board for the first time. How about it? 422 ft shot from Freelick on a change up. We’re seeing a bit of a power surge for Mr. Freelick here this week. Runners at first and third, one out and Nolan Aronado who is 0 for his last nine at the plate. Heavy pitch count to start this game for Mizarowski. Payoff pitch. Runner goes and a swing and a miss. Throw down to second. Run down. Throw home on the money. Kang cuts down Brendan Donovan. Fundamental baseball to the tea for the Brew Crew and they throw out another Cardinal runner on the base pads. Dang with a perfect strike to Contrarus. Cardinals have five hits already. Three walks and a hit batter as well. Ton of base runners behind Miserowski. First ball swinging. Fly ball deep center. Going to hang in there though. And Cheerio makes the catch, tagging his Nootbar. So it’ll it’ll be first and third again, but there are two outs. They’re not going to let him face the number nine hitter Victor Scott the second. It’ll be Rob Zestris instead as Pat Murphy is out of the dugout. 77 pitches for Miserowski to go three and two/3 innings tonight. So the game will be in the hands of the Brewers bullpen. One and two with runners at the corners. Scott fly ball left center hit well. Cheerio at the track makes a catch to end the inning. It’s three straight hits and the bases are loaded. Cesternney faced four batters. He gave up three straight singles to kick off the fifth inning. Brewers go deeper into the bullpen. The Cardinals look to break it open. We’ve got the bases loaded and nobody out. Aronado is your batter. Swing and a shot fair and headed for the corner. One run scores. Herrera’s going to come home. Berles’s getting wed. He’s going to score. Aronado’s going to take third as the ball gets away at the plate. Not a grand slam, but a bases clearing double. And the Cardinals break it open. Well, how about these Cardinals with the bases loaded, upping that average, and also their 10th double in bases loaded situations. So JC’s walked, scored, and struck out. Line to left and it’s going to get down onto the warning track. Aronado trots home. So JCI has a double. It’s a 6-1 game. So JCI continues to sizzle. His 14th hit in the last nine games. So here’s Jordan Walker flying towards second and through for a base hit. So JC around third. Sherio’s throw is cut off. And that was an absolute rocket up the middle. Can’t wait for the exit fo on that. It’s 7 to one. 118 off the bat. Final home Friday has been a lot of fun. The Cardinals seven runs on 12 hits lead with Sunny Gray on the mound. Swing and a miss. Sunny Gray has struck out seven Brewers tonight. Over half of his strikeouts have come with that sweeper. Backto back singles. And the Brewers suddenly with one swing of the back can make this a little more interesting. Back to the mound and Sunny Gray has gotten through six innings tonight. He’s allowed one run to the Brewers. Cardinals in command of game one. Brian Fernandez is next to answer a call to the bullpen. Grapho. Two innings of scoreless one hit relief. Following Sunny Gay’s six inning, one-run appearance. Now first and second with one out for Christian Yelich who is two for four in this game. A swing and a miss. Yelled strikes out again. He has the silver sombrero tonight with three strikeouts. Brewers down to their last out here in the ninth inning. Ball game. Strike three call. Jansen takes a call third and the Cardinals mark with a very impressive 71 win. Get the final weekend off to a terrific start. And the Brewers to 94 and 60. Magic numbers down to three after the Cubs lost to the Reds. Brewers three wins away from a franchise record still with eight to play. Easy to brush this one aside and get ready for tomorrow.

Great job cards. Let's get to the postseason
I cmae to the game 🎉
OOH MAMA !!! UNDISPUTED Manager of the Year Oliver Jose Marmol and his St. Louis Cardinals (the GREATEST team in the league REGARDLESS of record) are the HOTTEST team since All-Star Break. The squad goes 83-79, gets into the postseason once again and in one/two months (depending on when the games are in October/November), POURS CHAMPAGNE AND PARTIES with a World Series trophy for the unprecedented TWELFTH time!
Lars Taylor-Tatsuji Nootbaar, a TONE-SETTER … In the bottom of the first inning, the 28-year-old from El Segundo, California, gets the offense rolling by SMASHING an RBI single to center field, driving in Brendan Michael Donovan.
Jordan Alexander Walker, SLICKSTA ! In the bottom of the second inning, the 23-year-old from Stone Mountain, Georgia, has a groundout, bringing in Thomas Darren Saggese!!
I have CHILLS after that bottom of the fifth inning. First, NO DOUBT Most Valuable Player of the League, Nolan James Arenado, the 34-year-old from Newport Beach, California, RIPS an RBI double to left field, scoring Brendan Michael Donovan, Iván Aaron Herrera and Alec Michael Burleson! Then, Thomas Darren Saggese, the 23-year-old from Carlsbad, California, PUMMELS an RBI double to left field, sending Nado home. Finally, Jordan Alexander Walker STAYS SCORCHING with an RBI single to center field, letting Tommy touch the fourth bag!
Ladies and gentlemen, CLEAR-CUT Cy Young Award winner Sonny Douglas Gray. The 35-year-old from Smyrna, Tennessee, was HEAVEN with SEVEN huge strikeouts! CAP TIPS go to Gordon Joseph Graceffo and Ryan Austin Fernandez, both part of the best bullpen in the league, for the JAW-DROPPING defense.
TIME TO FLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! #12in25 #STLFLY
Heya peeps! If you wanna see my hubby 😍 Mitt's comments just go under the "newest" tab.
Mwah! 😘
Not our year guys. Very disappointing for all STL fans
Ryan Fernandez going scoreless is the most unexpected thing
The Jordan Walker experiment is over he just doesn't have it for the majors.
Go Cards! But get rid of those jerseys.
