What’s going on everyone? Chris from pickdogs.com here with a free pick in the St. Louis Cardinals versus Milwaukee Brewers Major League Baseball matchup going down Saturday, September 20th, 2025. Sunday is for week three NFL, but we’ll still have Major League Baseball and WNBA on the uh action on the board as well. So, make sure that you jump on board. Remember to use the promo code pick at checkout and get 15% off your purchase. But let’s get to this one between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers. For the St. Louis Cardinals, it’s Miles Michael assisted as a starter in this one while the Milwaukee Brewers will counter with Chad Patrick. And uh you know, Patrick made his return to the Brewers rotation uh back on uh September 9th. Gave up three runs on three hits over four and a third innings of work. He did give up a home run for the fourth straight start. Now granted, you got to keep in mind some of those starts were stretched out over, you know, a couple starts in in August and then going back before the All-Star break, but still it’s just factually correct. And now the control is starting to be an issue with Patrick as well. His third straight start with multiple walks allowed. Now, he has been used as more of a relief arm in some of his recent appearances. He has had an inning of relief in, you know, a couple couple series, including uh seventh inning back on uh September 14th against these Cardinals. It was an inning, gave up just one hit. He had a shut out performance. He looked really solid in that uh in that outing. And now he, like I said, he gets back into the starter role where he hasn’t necessarily been anything, you know, earthshattering, but I think he’s been good enough. I mean, as a starter this year, 3.57 erra, 249 opponents batting average. And let’s face it, I think that he can hold down a Cardinals lineup that’s been relatively ineffective for the better part of the month of September. Entering Friday, they’ve lost seven of their last nine games. the majority of those games they’ve scored three runs or less, seven times to be exact. And for me, the Milwaukee Brewers have the more trustworthy lineup. Now, Miles Michaels has been better at home this season compared to on the road, whereas ERA is almost half of what it is on the road. I mean, he’s got 3.40 ERA at home, but an ERA over six on the road this season. But I still think the Brewers can get to him. The Brewers hitting 279 in the month of September against right-handed pitching. That’s third best in baseball. The team OPS numbers are top five. The isolated power numbers could be a little bit better, but St. Louis right now among the league’s worst. Third worst in team OPS against righties, hitting 221. Their isolated power numbers are are some of the worst in baseball. And I trust this Milwaukee bullpen as well a lot more than I trust St. Louis. For me, it’s just all about the fact that St. Louis looks like a team that’s waved the white flag, that’s playing out the string at this point. and Milwaukee, even though we’re going to probably have to tentatively judge some spots down the stretch where, you know, maybe we have to look at kind of scaling back on taking the Brewers just because, but at least until the playoffs. But for me, I still think this is a spot where I have to take the Brewers in this one. So, I’m going to roll with Milwaukee here and that’s going to be my free pick.
