🔴LIVE 🔴Atlanta Braves VS Detroit Tigers/ September 20 /MLB THE SHOW 25
the Atlanta Braves and the Detroit Tigers. First pitch coming your way next. Welcome your Detroit Tigers. Almost ready to get underway. And on the mound now, Charlie Morton. Chris, it’s a little more common these days, but still he’s a strikeout per inning type of guy. Well, I hear you about the strikeouts. A lot more guys striking out today, but when you consider having the ability to get that strike out, particularly when you need it, a man on third, less than two outs, situations where, yeah, maybe you’re not a real high strikeout guy, but just knowing you have the swing and miss stuff in a big spot, I think it’s real critical. And he’s got it. Juriken Proar the leadoff batter as he looks at ball one and the one. Proofar gets a piece there. Let’s go Tigers. Next pitch is outside. Swing and a miss. There’s that change up and it’s fouled off. They’ll do it again. Highfly ball pretty well struck out towards right center. Back there gone. The first batter of the game leaves the yard. Home run number 15 on the year. And just like that, they’re out front. It’s one- nothing. Well, you got to love a game that brings some action from the jump. And at the plate, he was looking for a pitch to absolutely drive. And you know, leadoff hitters aren’t up there anymore just working the count, trying to get on. They’re looking to make some noise and do some damage. Here’s Matt Olsen. He’s been tearing it up at the plate recently, hitting better than 350 this month. Hit in the air center field. Meadows on his way over and there’s one away. Let’s take a look at our lineup. Not a whole lot going their way offensively the last few games, Chris. Yeah, Boo. And that can put more pressure on the pitching staff to try to limit the opponent to just one or two runs a game knowing that their offense is not scoring right now. And that never really works well because you try to be too fine and you end up giving up a lot of runs. So we’ll see if everybody can just relax, bring things together and perform at a level that they’re capable of. Ronald Akuna Jr. batting with one down takes the strike. One out, base is empty. Akuna punches one foul right side. Heart of the order coming through now. And with one home run already in this inning, they’re definitely looking to do some more damage. Sharp grounder. That’s through for a base hit. So they get a man aboard with a one out single. Batting fourth catcher Drake Baldwin. Drake Baldwin. Next up for the Braves not getting the results he’s wanted at the plate recently. Barely hitting over the Mendoza line this month. Akuna the runner at first with one gone in the inning. Morton a throw over. And that one fouled off. Ground ball right side. Could be two. Off-balance feed. There’s one. What a double play that was. Inning over. Braves get one on the big fly. It’s now a one- nothing ball game. Major League Baseball is on the show. Back here with my pal Singi. So, here’s the lefty Chris Sale. Well, he’s allowing just over one base runner per inning, which is really good, especially for a starter because these hitters get to see you two, three, maybe even four times in a start. So, just shows you how deceptive and how effective his stuff is. We’ll see if it’s that way in this one. Parker Meadows leading things off and takes a strike. And a swing and a miss. And the next pitch is way outside. And a swing and a miss. And that’s the first out. No, that slider down and away. It’s just kind of a slow death with two strikes you’re looking to protect and halfway to the plate, you know you’ve committed and you know you’re going to have no chance of touching it. Tell you what, sometimes you just have to tip your cap. Glbert Torres stands in now and watches strike one. That one finds the zone and the count is 0 and two. And that one almost hit him. Straighten him up a little bit. Gets a piece and stays alive. And a pitch that missed inside. It’s two and two. Really good take, especially with two strikes. Still two and two after the foul ball. That wasn’t an easy pitch to hit. It’s much easier to do damage against mistakes, but that’s not what that pitch was. Ninth pitch of the bat due next. Spoils a two- strike pitch. And he’ll see another pitch is in the dirt. Three and two now. That’s a really good take right there. Slider down and in. Very difficult to get on the same plane and do anything with and that’s too high. Ball four. And that’s how they get their first base runner of the game. When you go that deep into an at bat, the hitter usually comes out on top. And next to hit for Detroit, Carrie Carpenter. That’s a strike across the top of the zone. Strike two. Let’s see if he’s willing to use the whole field right here. Definitely pounding him away. and Sale deals. Fouled off the plate. They’ll do it again. This guy at the dish excels in two strike counts. Got to be careful with him out there on the mound. Sail delivers. Keeps the atbat going with a foul ball. Sail ready. Swing and a miss. Struck him out of the slider and there’s two gone. He’s really good hitting the baseball the other way. So, credit the pitcher for having him out in front of that pitch. Clearly, he had him fooled. Green. Here’s Riley Green. It’s been a tough stretch for him at the plate under the Mendoza line so far this month. And that’s a little bit high. And that’s ball one. Come on, Riley. And he takes a strike. I mean, that’s perfect location right on the black. I mean, over and over again, this guy demonstrates the ability to hit those spots that are so tough to do anything with as a hitter. Throw on to Olsen and the inning is over. One left for Detroit. Still behind by a count of one to nothing. Back here in Detroit, Azie Alb’s up to the plate. Azie Ali Alb’s is playing on the road, so you know that means he’s been facetiming with his pet fish. This guy owns a few home aquariums, and it’s no secret he likes talking to his fish when he’s away. In fact, Alb’s had cameras installed so he can check on the fish anytime he wants. Morton, the tall righty. More than a hundred career wins on the mound and they traded for him earlier this year. Larry Bullard making the calls behind the plate for us in this one. Pretty good strike zone. Well reviewed by those we talked to around the league. Yeah, he’s an umpire. He doesn’t get a lot of looks from players. Maybe here and there once in a while, but he’s appreciated back there. Delivers a pitch in for a strike at 95. just misses with that one. Well, clearly not too happy with the call there. Thought he caught the top of the zone and you could pretty much read his lips saying that’s not up. Highfly ball out towards left field. Green on the run. couldn’t get to it before it dropped foul. Popped up to the left into foul ground. Torres pulls it in and there’s one away. Batting six, short stop Kim. Hung Kim next up for the Braves. Good defender. He’s been inconsistent offensively. And a first pitch fast ball is in for a strike. Breaking ball through there for a strike. cuts and misses. It’s a strikeout. Batting seven. Two down, base is empty. So now to the plate for Atlanta. Marcel Ozuna. That pitch in for a strike and it’s 0 and one. And that’s in for a strike. Next pitch is downstairs. Two out. Space is empty. Two popped up first base side. Torqulson on the move. And that is that. Braves go down quickly here, but they lead it one to nothing. And we’re back. Bottom half of inning number two. And here is Spencer Torqulson. Take it high in the draft. He’s had that top prospect labeled over him since he put on a professional uniform. But at some point that starts to go away and you’ve got to produce at the big league level. Swing and a miss at a slider. Swing and a miss. And that’s strike two. A lot of times you’ll see a pitcher maybe double up on a pitch. This guy will throw it three times, four times in a row because hitters just can’t lay off of it. Got him. and he’s registered three Ks in this one. So up next, Wel Perez. That’s a slider for a strike. Now one and a one. He’s great hitting the ball the other way and that pitch did a good job to straighten him up a bit. Mission accomplished. Ground ball Olsen. He’ll do it himself. Two up, two down. Batting seventh, second base, Javier Bayz. So here’s Bayz now. Let’s go. Check swing and he went. Strike one. Let’s go. Javier on a line. Base hit. Joey gets on base and keeps it going. Well, a swing like that can help you come out of the struggle. We saw the numbers coming into the ball game, but all he’s trying to do at this point is help his team win. Jace Young up now for the Tigers. Step off throw to first. Bayz back in safely. Swing and a base hit. So that’s two straight two out hits. Backto back base hits that pretty much split the zone down the middle and those are the ones where you got to make them pay. Now a pretty big at bat coming up with a chance to even this ball game up. And next up for the Tigers, Jake Rogers. And that is out of play. Yeah, that’s fouled off. Tigers. This one in the dirt. Nothing happening on the bases though. Bayz over at second. Young at first. Two out of the inning. Bows it off. Still one and two. Five foul balls in this at bat so far and these two are going head-to-head. You can see the crowd. They’re starting to get into it a little bit. This to center field. It’s going to fall for a hit. Around from second is the tying run and it’s an RBI single. It’s 1-1. A perfect example right there. That plate discipline, it pays off. The deeper he gets into account, the more comfortable he becomes and he usually wins the battle. First and second, two outs. Parker Meadows up now for the Tigers. That one a little bit high and it’s one and0. Well, he’s just given up three straight hits and now behind in this count to this hitter. Might be a good time for somebody to call a timeout. Maybe the pitching coach to go out there and talk to him just a little bit. Off the mark there and the count now two and nothing. Tough spot right here. A couple runners on two ball count. You can’t nibble, but you have to execute and finish your pitch. If you leave something out over the plate, it’s going to bring in some runs. Mine drive. That’s a base hit. Young rounds third headed for the plate. Throw is offline and he scores. They take the lead. It’s 2-1. Well, that’s a lonely feeling for an outfielder. The read wasn’t great and it really hurts when it cost your team a run. Blabber Torres up to hit and the first pitch misses for ball one. out now to short Kim. They take the force out. They limit the damage here. So, it’s two runs on four hits, no errors, and a couple left on. We play two full. It’s the Tigers two and the Braves one. All set for the start of the inning. Now in for the Braves. Michael Harris the second. Morton back to work. That one is absolutely belted. Should be extra bases. And the tying runs at second base with a double. Love how he let that ball travel, trusted his hands. Nice job of going the other way Nacho Alvarez Jr. Next up for the Braves and fouled off. Runner at second. Nobody out. Just off the inside edge. And a big swing and a miss. Oh, that’s that slurp right there. He threw it extremely well. Talk about just a ton of break. So tough to get that barrel to swings and misses. Struck him out. He notches strike out number 150 this season. Now batting Juriken Proar he’s already homered in this game. This is what stat nerds like myself might call a high leverage situation. Yeah, Boo. Not sure what the numbers say, but clearly an at bat that could change the course of this game dramatically. Throw to second. Save. Good wheels out there on second and he’s getting a pretty big lead right now. Definitely looking to score on any hit to the outfield. Swing and a tapper that rolls foul. Runner at second here. One gone. Pitch misses. Ball one. Ground ball. Torqulson and he handles it himself for the out. Well, there’s a lot riding on that at bat right there. Nice job of the pitcher to bear down, make the pitch, get the ground ball. Excellent piece of work. And now it’s Matt Olsson’s turn to hit. fly to center his first time. He’s been such a good hitter with runners in scoring position. Some guys just take it to another level. For him right now at the plate, it’s like everyone else is in slow motion and he’s in full speed. Inside corner and that’s called a strike right through there for a strike. Perhaps not quite ready to hit. First two pitches by him for a couple of strikes. Now back is against the walls. Going to have to figure something out and figure it out quickly. Two outs. Gets a piece there. We’ll do it again. So glad these ballparks have installed the netting to protect the fans, keep things safer all around the league. Had a good eye there. Was good pitch there. Really had some run and finished little up and end just on the edge. And that’s one of those if you swing at it, he had a broken bat as you jog back to the dugout. That’s too low and it’s two and two outside with a breaking ball. He should get a pretty good pitch to hit here with the three-hole hitter coming up if he’s walked. Harris on third with two out. lays out. Oh, it’s off his glove. The tying run is in to score from third. It’s an RBI single. It’s 22. Tying run on third. He’s looking to find a way to bring him home. And he gets it done with an infield single of all things. And that’s probably not how he imagined the at bat played out, but they’ll absolutely take it. And now it’s Ronald Akuna Jr. that’s back. caught just shy of the wall. They get a run on two hits, no errors, and a man left. We move on to the bottom of inning number three. We are tied 22 and welcome back to the ballpark. Now, Carrie Carpenter, Carrie Carpenter. ripped on a line, dives, but it kicks off his glove. So, a runner aboard to start the inning. Now, here’s the Tigers cleanup hitter Riley Greened out his first time and that drops in for a strike. Rudder at first with no outs here. And a swing and a miss. There’s that slider with two strikes. May see some movement over there at first base. Trying to stay out of the double play right here. Hard hit. Base hit. lead runner holds up. They’re at first and second with nobody out. Everything came together for him. Showed a willingness to drive that pitch the opposite way. Didn’t get jumpy. Didn’t try to pull the ball. He let it get deep, took the barrel right to it, and then extended through the swing for the line drive base hit. A chance now to take the lead. And at this point in the game, that could be a deciding run. First and second, no outs. The batter now, Spencer Torqulson. And the slider just misses. In for a strike and the count even at one. Movement in the bullpen. Tyler Kinley getting loose out there. Stratton a hard throwing right-hander up as well. No outs. Runners at first and second. Check. Swing. Appeal to first. And he went around. Just enough that time. Slice to right. A dive and he can’t haul it in. Headed for the plate. He will score and they take the lead. Relay throw home. save at the plate and they lead by two. He was all over that one. When you connect and it jumps off your bat like that, you’re thinking double at the very least. Put a great swing on it and man, he wasn’t fooled at all. There comes a skipper out of the dugout and he’s ready to make the move. That does it for Chris Sail as the lefty makes way. two-run ball game as he heads for the dugout. And we’ll be back with a new pitcher. New pitcher for the Braves, Bryce Elder. Well, he’s struggled quite a bit, so this is another opportunity to get on the right track. He’s given up more than one hit perenning pitch so far this season. Runner in scoring position, no outs. Wel Perez digs in now. Center field. Harris has a beat on it. Nabs it. Runner tags at second. He makes it to third. Good base running to move up with only one out. Now batting second base Javier Bayz. Jav Bayz digs in right side. Singled and scored his first time. and a foul ball. Jav Bayz, like fellow Puerto Rican Francisco Lindor, born in Puerto Rico, but was drafted in the first round out of high school in Florida. Up the middle on the run, sends it over to first and it beats him. What a play. Jace Young the next to hit. One for one with a single and a run scored so far. Young in there at the knees. 0 and one. Just missed. That one ripped. Hops over the wall. And that’s an automatic double. Well, there’s something really nice about getting yourself an automatic double like that. You get to stroll into second base without having to worry about a throw or getting your uniform dirty. And now you’re just looking for the next hitter to kind of do the same thing. Maybe put one in the gap so you can jog home as well. And now here is Jake Rogers. First pitch doesn’t find the zone. Young at second with two down. Tigers. There’s a swing and a drive. And it one hops the wall. The run comes in to score from second and they lead by four. Couple of hits in a row for him here. Nice job of driving that pitch the other way on a line. You know, hitters, they take so many reps in the cages, working on going to the opposite field, and it doesn’t always translate into the game, but right there it did. And he did it perfectly. So, digging in, Parker Meadows. That’s off the mark. Ball one. Rudder at second. Two down. Next offering is in for a strike. Foul ball. on the ground to first. Olsson takes it himself and they’re happy to just get off the field after that frame. So, it’s four runs, five hits, no errors, and one left. On to inning number four. Tigers six and the Braves two. back at Kame Park and now Drake Baldwin. The Braves in striking distance but have some work to do. Boo. It starts with the laid-off man. I need a good at bat out of him right here. And immediately pumps in a strike to the left-handed hitter. Oh, he’s looking great so far. It helps when over 80% of your first pitches are strikes. He might be able to go the distance if he keeps this up. Next offering in there for a strike. And that is strike two. Man, this guy’s got a great feel for his breaking ball today. And that skips in the dirt. Recognized that change up right out of the hand. Just spit on it. That one almost got him. Swang in a line drive. That’s a base hit into center field and a good start to the inning. Man, those are the types of hits where you don’t feel any vibration in your hands whatsoever. Such a good feeling. Off the bat, that one registered at 105 mph. Man, that is smoking. And these days, you hear it all the time, but the numbers just don’t lie. If you can drive a ball like that, more often than not, you’re picking up a knock. You know, these Braves doing a great job, Boo, of just waiting for the right pitch to come their way. And I’m seeing very patient at bats out of them. They’re doing a good job of working the pitch count, and they’ve been able to push a couple of runs across to score as well. That’s ripped. Base hit and out to a board. Now batting short stop. That ball was blasted Boo. And as broadcasters, we can go weeks without seeing a ball hit 115 m hour, which is what Statcast tells us there. Man, he really got the bat through the zone and did not get cheated. Yeah, that ball was absolutely smoked. Manager out of the dugout now and it looks like we’ll see a change on the mound. That’s all for Charlie Morton and it’s going to be a start that he’d like to get a redo on. Not his best. Back with a new arm in a minute. Tommy Canley gets the call from the pen. Should be a good first matchup for him here. He’s been doing a great job against right-handed bats so far this season. They’ve had a lot of trouble squaring him up. First and second, no outs. digging in Hassan Kim. He’s 0 for one. And there’s a ball. Still relatively early, but with the pair of runs already on the board, the ripple effect of that high pitch count might set them up to do more damage later in this game. Action in the pen down there. Zack McKinstry up and throwing. First and second, no outs. Top half of inning number four. Let’s go Tigers. Outside corner. There’s the strike. Swing and a miss. Struck him out. He got a pitch to hit right there, but he couldn’t catch up after all the off speed to start the at. Yeah, they pitched him backwards, as they say. First three pitches were soft, so he had no timing on the fast ball. And you’re right, that was a hitable pitch that he swung right through. But it was the setup from the pitch sequence before it that allowed it to be so effective. Here’s Marcelo Zuna. He’s 0 for one. And a foul ball. One out. Runners at first and second. Next offering is fouled back. Finish him. Strike three. And that’s two in a row. That was a wellexecuted slider away for the strikeout right there. First two pitches filled up the zone and got him ahead 02 in the count. And at that point, you can start expanding the zone as a pitcher. He made him chase and got the quick strike out. And now the center fielder, Michael Harris, I one for one with a double and a run scored. That one misses. One and0. Baldwin the lead runner out at second. Alb’s on it first with two down. Next offering in there for a strike and the count even one and one. outside with a breaking ball. Two in one. Ground ball up the middle. That’s a base hit. Coming home. The throw in. Safe. It’s six to three. couldn’t have timed it up any better than that. He wasn’t able to elevate it, but he put a great swing on it right on time, good balanced approach, and just blasted it through the infield. And next for Atlanta, Nacho Alvarez Jr. in the dirt, blocked, and an excellent job keeping it right there. Two outs, couple of base runners at first and second. Oh, he doesn’t get the call and the count is two and0. Homeplayed umpire is trying to tighten things up a little bit and he grounds one to the right side and it goes just foul. Two aboard, two outs. Next one misses. And that’s ball three. Love how this guy grinds out at bats. I mean, he’s down there at the bottom of the lineup in the nine hole, but he’s worked himself into a really good hitter’s count trying to pick up a two out RBI. And the tying run is on base. Oh, that sets up a really big at bat in this game. These are the moments when everyone in the stadium gets really locked in. And here comes the Tigers manager to the mound. Pitching change coming. Tommy Canley is done and the line not closed on him yet as he’s responsible for the runners on base. Back with a new pitcher after this. Raphael Monttero gets the ball now. And this is an important part of this game. Tight score and still a lot of outs to get. So they’re looking for a big outing out of them right here to get some critical outs. So bases all loaded up. Proofar climbs in on that left side. He’s already homered here in this one. And another ball. Pressures on right here. 20 count. Base is loaded. You don’t want to fall to a three ball count and then walk in or on. He’s got to challenge the hitter right here. Fought off foul. Next offering is downstairs. Look, in situations like these, the air can get really thin up there at the plate. Got to find a way to breathe and slow everything down. Puts it in the air out towards left center. Meadows sizing this one up. And that’s the third out. But the RBI single pushes across a run. It’s now 63. Back after this on the show. Welcome back. And they turn to a new arm as we kick off the bottom of the fourth. Dylan Lee. And if you dig into his walk rate, his numbers are really impressive. He’s really filled up the strike zone this season. So these batters better be ready to swing the bats. Here is Glabber Torres. Tigers third base Torres. Yeah, let’s go Detroit. Popped in the air left field and there’s one down. Good pitch. She just kind of had him out in front on that pitch away and wasn’t able to stay closed. Carrie Carpenter. So up next, Carrie Carpenter one for two. First pitch misses. Lee, he’s got some good and some bad. The positive is he doesn’t walk very many guys. But Chris, the problem is that he is prone to giving up some homers. That one to first. Olsen handles the chance. Steps on first for the And it’s flip a coin because the good thing is that you can bring a guy like this in with the bases loaded and not worry about walking in a run. But on the other side, if he gives up one of those homers, it counts for four. Two outs. Base is empty. And up next for Detroit, Riley Green and first offering is fouled off. Swings through that one out in front that time. This guy’s pounding the zone. Hitters don’t have time to think in between pitches. And a base hit and that keeps the inning going. Still able to come through behind in the count right there. Pitch was away and he did exactly what you’re supposed to do with it. Drive it the other way. Just go with the pitch. Man at first and next to hit for Detroit, Spencer Torqulson. Fast in for a strike. It’s 0 and one. Detroit in the dirt but kept close. Green off of first with two away. Fouled off left side. Yeah, let’s go Tigers. You can do it. Stays alive. And now it’s filled up. Great RBI spot here. Just got to stay focused on the pitch. The runner will be in motion. So something in the gap should definitely score it. Foul ball and it remains a full count. Good battle here. About to be the eighth pitch of the at bat. And ball four, two aboard. Not what he wanted to do right there, Boo. That keeps this inning alive. puts a runner into scoring position and a chance for this offense to add on to their lead. First and second, two outs and now the right fielder Wel Perez bowl for two in this one. First pitch just misses. Two on, two outs. Let’s go and they’re swinging a miss. And that one is downstairs now. Two balls in a strike. Foul ball there. And a swing and a miss. Down on strikes and that will end the inning. Well, needed a big strike out to get out of danger. Turned to the deception of that change up. Great execution. Really sold it with the arm speed. Had his opponent way out on that front foot. Back here in Detroit, new inning getting started. And the batter now, Matt Olsson. Monttero, 34 year old vet and he was born in the Dominican Republic. And the first pitch misses for ball one. hit hard but foul off to the left. The 1-1 swing and a miss as he was late from a pitcher’s perspective. That’s a beautiful splitter right there as a hitter. You don’t like it, but he’s commanded his fast ball and out of that same tunnel that splitter comes and the bottom just falls out of it. Montto fires. Ground ball right side, tosses to first and Olsen is set down. If you want to be a great defense, you have to deliver consistently. It doesn’t matter how many highlight reel plays you make if you can’t execute the small stuff just like we saw. And here is Ronald Akuna Jr. And first offering is fouled off. This one high in the air to left center. Meadows has this one sized up. Hauls it in for the out. Now batting catcher Drake. Two down, base is empty. Now, the Atlanta cleanup hitter, Drake Baldwin. Edge of the zone for a strike. And it’s 0 and one. And a swing and a miss there. More and more guys are looking to slug regardless of the count. And this situation will keep a close eye on his approach. struck him out looking. No runs, no hits, no errors. Last half of the fifth coming up, Tiger six and a Braves three. Righty reliever out of the pen, Hursten Wald just trying to keep this one close here. And this is where a bullpin can give their players a chance to fight back into the game. Now it’s Javier Bayz for the Tigers. Second baseman Javier Bayz. Right through there for a strike. Well, these Tigers, simply put, are producing a lot of quality swings. Just look at how the ball’s coming off their bats. And tell me it’s fun playing defense at this level. They’ve got seven hits at 90 plus miles per hour exit velocity. So you got to look alive out there. Swings and misses. Now one and two. And that one a little bit high. Just not taking the bait right there. But a good pitch with two strikes. got him looking. Not sure about that call. Pitcher might have gotten a friendly strike three. A little bit of a questionable call on that fast ball right there. It appeared to miss off the outside just a little bit according to the electronic strike zone, but that’s the type of location where you kind of have to understand that it’s close enough to where you don’t want to put the fate of your bat in the hands of the umpire. He did and he got burned. That’s hard hit on the line. Can’t get there. And now maybe extra bases. the throw into second. It’s a double. Third hit of the night for him. He has had such a good day today. I don’t think he’s going to want to leave when it’s over. Couple of doubles today for the DH. One out, runner at second. Rogers will hit next. just missed. And now it’s even up. I wouldn’t throw him another breaking ball. Try to go again with a fast ball. Slightly elevated. He just having a hard time catching up. And that one fouled off man at second. Foul ball still a one and two count. Now one missed. One out and a runner at second. That misses the zone. Three and two now. And that’s awfully close. I don’t know how you take that. He’s seeing the ball out of the pitcher’s hand really well right now. That’s foul off to the right side. keeps the AB going. Well, he’s having a tough time getting a pitch by him. As a hitter, you feel pretty confident that you’re seeing different pitches, still able to make some type of contact. And ball four, two aboard. Well, a breaking ball in that 3-2 count kind of tells you that that’s the pitch he has the most confidence in right now. Just couldn’t find the strike zone. Here’s the center fielder, Parker Meadows. We talk about guys with good speed and definitely he has it. But pushing the offensive side for just a second, Chris, it’s the defensive side that I think the speed factors in the most. And ball one. Well, he gets to balls that get by most people at that position. Just really impressive because there’s certain times the ball comes off the bat, automatically that team that hit it thinks that they’ve got a base hit or they may have extra bases and he just takes it away on the ground right side and foul ball. That one fouled off. Two and two. Young the lead runner at second. Rogers over at first with one away. That’s outside. Full count now. s that off to the left and we’ll do it again. You got this swing and a miss. Struck him out. That’s out number two. Oh, Boo, I’ll tell you when he goes to look at the video of that pitch, he’s going to want to punch himself. That slider had hit me written all over it and clearly he just got a little too excited and was out in front. Tell you what, when you get a pitch like that, you cannot miss it. Those have a chance to go a long way. And first offering is fouled off and that one missing low Detroit on the ground to the left and that’s just foul. One, two now. Good take by Torres. First and second, two down. Swing and a high-fly ball left field. Bzuna makes the catch and that’ll do it. Tigers strand a pair as they’re unable to add to their 6-3 lead. Now back now and on the mound the closer Will Vest and we all know about his slider. It’s just filthy man and one of the better ones in the game I’d say. Spin rate’s very high and it just breaks a ton. Albees up to hit for the third time as he lays off inside ball one. Tigers. And that misses. And now two and 0. Next offering is fouled back and it remains two and two. hit on the ground to the right side. Bayz and Albz is retired. That play won’t be trending on social media later on, but it’s still important to execute it to perfection. This game is a lot harder than it looks. Partner Hassang Kim next up for the Braves who’s 0 for two with a pair of strikeouts. And that gets the top of the zone for a strike. Hard ground ball. Base knock. So a man aboard now with one away. Now batting leftielder. Marcelo Zuna coming up to hit. That misses and that is ball one. Swings through that one for strike one. Great velocity at 97 at the top of the zone. swings through that one for strike two and a foul ball. He stays alive. And that’s outside. Here’s the pitch to Ozuna. Foul ball. Another two- two upcoming. Vest checks on first and he’s back in there. Comes the two- two fly ball to right. No trouble here. Puts it away for the out and there’s two down. Now that center Michael Harris I So they’re down to their final out. So now to the plate for Atlanta, Michael Harris II. Close but called a ball. And that’s ball one. Ground ball left side and it goes just foul. So a foul ball makes it one and two. One strike away. Softly hit to third on the run. Throw to first and that’ll do it. I don’t care if you’re a top team or you’re a middle of the pack team. Every ball club wants to be dominant at home. Winning a game like this just helps to boost the confidence and makes you look forward to coming out again for the next one. 6-3 our final score for Chris Singleton and our entire crew. I’m John Shambi saying so long
