We are all in agreement that win or lose, we are all secretly hoping for a Mariners win if it isn’t the Sox? I couldn’t even be mad about it. I haven’t been pulling for a team this hard that isn’t named the Red Sox ever.
Just have to finish ahead of one of them
Not scary. Awesome! Just go out and win, prove you belong.
Or awesome!!!
8 left win 4 you’ll get in. Let’s play LFG!
It’s for sure scary
but also as a baseball fan it’s cool to see such a tight race going into the final week with so many teams fighting for those last slots
I’m just rooting for two teams to be tied so we can have a thrilling comparison of intraleague records #teamchaos
Toronto is also only 3 ahead of the Yankees. A bad week from any of the top 7 teams could crack the door open for even the Rangers to get in.
Lou said it right last night, between sea and hou, you are rooting for the sweep
the red sox control their own destiny, thats all you can really ask for. If we miss it we can only blame ourselves.
It’s only scary if you’re one of the teams playing like shit. I agree. It’s scary.
At least they are playing for something. LGSox.
Relax
What’s crazy is we could very well see that Tigers series being for the play offs. Guardians are on our tail but they are also on the Tigers tail. Only 1.5 games back. Guardians have 2 more games against the twins(they suck) before playing 3 games against the tigers… at home. If they win these next 2 and then win say 2-1 against the tigers they will be leading that division. We finish with 3 games at home against the tigers. One good thing is those would be the teams to take our play off spot. Only 1 of them can win when they face each other.
I’m just happy we actually have a chance this late. A lot of our player got hurt this year, but we have a young core locked up for the foreseeable future that should mean we stay competitive. Even if we miss the playoffs this year we still have Crochet, Anthony, Mayer, Campbell, Abreu, Duran, Bello, Narvaez, Early, Tolle, Ceddanne, Fitts, Dobbins, Luis Guerrero, Casas, Luis Perales, Password, etc. Now some of those guys are more role players, and odds are some of the guys who haven’t established themselves will be closer to that than stars, but you need those guys to make a solid team and if you supplement that with stars like we did by adding Crochet you have a path to becoming a true WS contender in the future. Free agency and the trade market are going to be crucial to fill in the gaps in the roster to fully unlock this rosters potential. Don’t be like the Orioles and bet entirely on your young guys. We need a second top of the rotation guy to pair with Crochet so we have a go to 1-2 punch for the playoff and we need to get a bat ideally that doesn’t strike out a ton. The bat can be a combination of bringing Breg back, Mayer staying healthy and figuring out the offense in the MLB level and Campbell getting back to what made him successful in the minors. The offense looks much better than having guys like Hamilton and Toro play as much as they did in that case.
We’ll see if they trade one of the outfielders because they have 4 starters so that group can get thinned but if they bring a good player back it’s fine. I’m still a Casas believer but I understand his injury is one of the worse ones to have and his recovery will probably take more than a year and it might hinder his playing ability. He never fully showed his bat consistently in the MLB and with this injury it might mean he never does, but I’ll hold out hope until he comes back and show us how he is doing.
The Guardians 2 catchers are hitting worse than Wong…I can’t believe they might unseat us…
Still only 4 teams for 3 w/c spots.
An a ideal world, we make the playoffs, and Guardians keep winning and kick the Yankees out
5/6 will make the playoffs lol
Obv have to hope CLE starts dropping games but as a pure baseball fan it’s crazy that a season with this amount of games can be this close for playoffs qualification w like 5 AL Teams lmao.

Tigers have lost their last five games
