Top MLB Plays of 9/20/25 (Robles’ INCREDIBLE game-ending play, Tauchman’s defensive clinic, MORE!)
Volunte strikes the count on Alb. Diving stopped by Torque. Perfect feed. Got him. Looks like Torque came to play today. Beautiful backhand dive. Perfect feed to Kater Montero on the run. You can’t teach that one day. Monto delivers. This one shot to third. Backhanded pick by Abanz. Goes to second for one. Jav to first double play. Boy, we have seen some fine defensive plays on the infield early in this ball game. Boy, that’s just the shift. You’re talking about Nacho Alvarez Jr. playing basically shortstop when he shifts on the left-handed hitter. Diving stop Fitzgerald from his knees and Clemens with the pick. And that is a sweet play all around. Wow. This ball had some crazy spin off the bat. It looked like it was going to be in the hole and it kicked back towards the middle of the field after the first bounce. And Fitzgerald does a great job of making a good throw. Great jamage on Alonszo Nunees. Nunees made a tremendous over- the-sh shoulder play in shallow right. What a play by Nunees. He’s been a factor in two plays in this game. Really saves a run right there. Line drive to right. It’s staying up. Dylan Cruz right into it. Good play. That ball stays up at all. He’s going to get there. Right side Nunes. What a pick. Unbelievable pick by Nazi Nunes to get the lead runner. He has been spectacular at second base today. This kid’s range is incredible. And Hassel hits one up the middle. Same spot. Luther runs it down the spin on the hop and he got him. Oh wow. What a play. He’s here. He’s there. He’s everywhere. Francisco Lindor. He loops one out to shallow left field. Hernandez coming on. Still coming. He slides and he makes the catch. Ariberto Hernandez takes a run away from Texas. Goes. This one is hidden to right field. A sliding grab is made by Tooffman. chance to double up at first and he throws a strike. Double play. Nice job by Mike Tauman. First with the catch and then the throw on the money. There’s a ground ball to third. Normy’s got it. Goes the long way to first. They get the out. Nice play by Connor ranging to his forehand and loving it for a little spin on his left feet. Jackson Merrill golfs this one to right field but Tuckman again. The head first slide as he makes the play in right. with these catches. Maybe a gold glove of his future. Two really good catches on sinking line drives. One to his right, the other to his left and in play, but very gently on charge. Bare hands, whips it over there. Beautiful play. It’s just a big play. Kind of take it for granted, but you know, no bare hand is routine, but he comes in, gets it just in the air. Don’t guarantee you get the right grip on the baseball either. Ground ball hit hard. Edwards has got it. Wow, what a play by X. One pitch and a line out to tightening Xavier Edwards at second base. Third, two man going. That ball never touched the dirt. He caught that on a line. What a nice play. Little chopper toward third. Aronado bare hand quick release and they got him. What a play. He is still incredible. Aronado puts out a Brewers threat in the fourth inning with a great play on a dribbler to third. Bra up and Ortiz knocks it down. flips to second and that’s all the Brewers get. But for the second straight night mark, the Brewers infield defense keeps the ball on the infield dirt. That saved a run and keeps us tied. Cortez lines this ball. Oh, but a pick by the second baseman Nick York on the first. Nick York has robbed the pinch hitter Carlos Cortez of a leadoff hit in a two nothing game. That was huge. Swings and he lines it into center field. A diving play by Victor Scott II. Throwing to second, not in time. could double up freely. A diving play saving a hit perhaps an RBI. His last time to left field crab on the tumble by H. He takes one away from and he was on his pony like right away working underneath that baseball on the ground. Knocked down by O’Harn. He’ll stay with it and win the race to the bag. Padre is out of the jam. Nice play by O’Harn down there at first base. That’s a ball hit behind the bag at third. Royce Lewis off. Are you kidding me? What an arm. Yeah, nice play. You see he’s coming up in foul territory. He gathered. He knew who was running. He took his time. Gathered himself to where he could make a strong throw. And that that’s a long way. Oh, what a play at first by Julian. Dives and beat him to the bag with a foot first tag of the bag. Wow. I’ll tell you what, they’ve made some nice plays in this this second game. Fly ball down the right field line. Tman heading over into foul ground. Tacman makes the catch, goes into the crowd. Nice catch up into the screen. That one hit to right. Cam Smith on the move. A jumping catch by Cam on the warning track. Great leaping catch by Cam Smith on the move and right center. That didn’t sound good off the bat, man. Put that on a baseball card. Julian off the glove of Allen. It’s Arius barehanding throws him out. The Guardians just make play after play. And Arias, he has made plays on the right side, the left side, coming in in the hole. He is checking every box of short. And that ball lifted high into the air, but going foul third base side. Young in pursuit along the track, reaches out, makes the catch. Nice play there by Josh Young having to go a long distance since he was playing the left-handed hitter Johnston Deull. And he makes that just before hitting the padded rail up the middle. Oh, they got new car. They’ll run down. Instead they go to first now go to third and in time. Newbar hesitates between second and third in scoring position tries to advance and Monisterio throws him out. Two outs in the 10. Fly ball gapped right center field and Victor Rob. Double him up at second. Victor Rob makes the catch and that is the ball game. The biggest series win in a lifetime for the Mariners. Victor Rob strap a cape on that man. Swung on. Hit on the ground up the left side. Diving stop by Alexander and over to first in time to get the out at second base. They get one and that’s it. What a play by Blaze Alexander. Sharply hit to Muny at third. He’s up to him from his knees and they got him at second. Hot shot to the hot corner and Muny made the play. Sharply hit. Muny’s got it at the hot corner. His throw picked by Freddy Freeman. And that’s a win for LA. We got Miy going into the net for foul popups. We got Max battling the hot corner. We got Freddy scooping it up first for the last field side and foul ground. Luke next to the net. He made the play. The first thing you’re worried about when he gets over there is his health. The second thing, and the most miraculous thing is he catches the ball, and he is healthy. And what a sense of timing to know where the ball needs to go after this miraculous catch.
