Welcome to some Sunday night baseball on Nest and the Red Sox can sweep the Tampa Bay Rays at Steinbrerfield. They’ve already had some good news today. Among the good news, that man is back for the first time in over a month. William Brayu is in the lineup and the Cleveland Guardians who have been chasing the Red Sox actually lost today amazingly enough after a 10game winning streak. Dave and Louie also Jama just a couple of moments. Give us a look at that wild card race. It continues to be just fascinating. Oh, you mentioned the Guardians lost. Well, so did the Detroit Tigers. Now, the Blue Jays, Yankees both won. You have an opportunity here to take advantage of a couple of losses and spread it out a little bit more. Conan would have had to scoop it and get the tag down on Cabanero, but he goes in hard. Bregman’s throw did not get there in the air and they add another run and it’s three to nothing. Bregman in on the grass. This one here, you got to sit back on it a little bit. you’re not able to catch it and gain momentum to throw in the home. So, because he sits back, that momentum’s almost going backwards when he changes gets his feet going and just doesn’t get enough underneath it to get it there in the air. Conor unable to make this pick. [Music] That’s a big one there. That’s we always talk about all the time like contact second and third, one out. You put the pressure in the defense. You know, story to kind of hold up and let this ball get by him. He’s an easy first to third record right there. He’s got to hold up and just hit second guess. Maybe just thinking about again getting thrown out. Maybe too aggressive. He’s still down two. Durant a base hit. Story a base hit. Bregman a single. Gonzalez trying to come through and a line drive base hit right field. Trevor Story. He’s going to be sent her throw. Here’s the dive and he gets in there at home plate. Red Sox score again. Base hit by Romany Gonzalez. Red Sox within one. This is just about moving the line, right? And not trying to do too much. You saw Bregman just take that heater away and poke it to right field. Same thing here with Rom. He’s behind two strikes. Talking about contact. There was a ton of strikeouts early in this game, but he just takes this good pitch slider off the plate. maybe up a bit. Drives it to right field. Story is able to beat this throw. More importantly too, Bregman on his way to third. Another opportunity for Low Rays with a man at every base. Infield leaning in and a two-2 and a line rob in left center field. Diaz is in to score. Kevin Arrow coming around. Son fires to the plate. Not going to get him to run score. And Morell has put a hurt on the Red Sox tonight. He’s driven in four runs. Tampa Bay in front now six to three. Well, he fell behind. Two two and one. Got back into it, but it’s just those fast balls. He just got on top of this one here. Those are big two runs for the Rays here late with their guy Fairbanks getting loose in that pen. Still not out of it. Some wiggle room and lead at six to three. Bases are loaded in the 2-2. Fly into center field. Sadon has it measured. He’ll make the catch. Tagging up low. Throw comes into third. He really sailed that throw as the run scored. Another run across to make it seven to three. So Manga picks up another RBI and now four-run game. Seventh time since 1st of August had an opportunity to sweep a team to lose the last game. It’s been six out of seven times now. You win a series, but you leave not feeling fulfilled. 02 and a line shot toward the alley. Mangum racing over will run it down. Goodwood again by Bregman. I think that’s one thing you can say coming out of this series. And the Red Sox at the worst going to take two out of three here down to their last man here in the ninth inning. But Alex Bregman looks like he’s back. Bregman and Son improvement there as well, right? Another guy that you need has some good at bats. only one for four tonight with a double, but still looked more like the guy that you need. So, those two guys are very important moving forward here in the last six heading for Toronto. Masa has two hits tonight. He’s another guy who swung the bat effectively, not just in this game. Red Sox have out hit Tampa Bay 10 to nine, but really big hit has eluded him and the one ground ball to first. That should do it. Ray takes it to the bag and Tampa Bay takes this one on a Sunday night. 7 to three the final score. Red Sox do win the series. This was a game of missed opportunities. They had a lot of chances to pile up a lot more runs. It got away late. 10 men left and now it’s on to Toronto. Yeah, you know, three in the first. You were behind it right away and the bats had many of opportunities. Many opportunities. A one-run game going to that eighth inning. If you got the lead, you see a different pitcher in the eighth. You win the series. Now you moving on. You got six to go. Absorbing.
