NBA LIVE! Los Angeles Lakers vs Milwaukee Bucks | September 22, 2025 | Bucks vs Lakers 2K26 Live

scores. Thanks very much. LeBron James has moved past Carl Malone. Yeah, it’s just a matter of time, David. Thank you. And now the Lakers starting group. We’ve got DeAndre Aton Hatchima out there with LeBron James. Then there’s Donic and it’s Reeves in at the shooting guard position. And for Milwaukee, they’ve got Kevin Porter. And Tumbo is out there with Miles Turner. Then there’s Kyle Kosma and it’s Harris in at the two. Brett, there’s no doubt your athleticism was one of the key weapons you possessed. We’re going to see plenty of that here tonight on display. Well, that’s kind of you first, Kevin, but secondarily, the guys out here have a chance when there’s any open space to make something extremely exciting happen. So, let’s move up a little bit and sit on the edge of our seat, should we? Now, here’s Adid Kumbbo. Shoots over Himura. Six to shoot. Porter with it now. Guarded by Eaton. Here’s Reeves. Guarded by Porter. Reeves. The pass to Donic. Fires the three. They get it again. Eighton. Good work defensively by Turner. There’s a little bit of pressure on him, but not enough to cause him to miss a shot that’s in that close. Porter dishes two out to Tumbbo. Back to Porter. Launches a three. Second shot opportunity and Yiannis will lay it in. Giannis has got the first points up on the board here for the Bucks. And you love it when your star player gets down there and gets dirty. And that time akubo in there. Back to LeBron. Shoots a three. Los Angeles with another miss. Here’s Koozma. That one’s not going to go. Good D by LeBron. Here’s Reeves. Yes, it’s James picking up the assist. What a find by LeBron James setting up a great look that time. On the wing, Harris. And that one goes long. Lakers have gone just one of four to get this game started. And he’ll shoot free throws here. clearly fouled on that shot that time. The whistleblowing in college at Gonaga. Ruy Hatchima was a finalist for the player of the year award. And not bad company that year, Kevin, alongside Zion Williamson and John Morant. Probably one of the most talented fields for that award we’ve seen in a long time. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And the first one at the line is good. Ray, here’s a classic NBA question. Who’s been the best franchise in league history? Celtics or the Lakers? Come on, Kevin. You are putting me on the spot. But uh I I’d go with the Lakers more superstars over the years and I think that 2000’s run with Kobe and company that put them ahead in my estimation. Ruy Hachimura is one of those guys who you’re assured of as putting in the work in the offseason. His shot has gotten a little bit more accurate and the confidence that he plays with continues to grow. Here’s Reeves. Pass to Donic. Here’s James Los Angeles with another miss. Probably not the shot that was drawn up for that possession, but you can’t pass it up and you can’t knock it down. Shots good by Turner. A big like Turner just using that height inside. It’s almost a lost art to Reeves. Back to Dunic. Eightton against Turner. Lets it go from 11 off the left rim and out. That’s a shot they want just about on every possession if they can get it. He doesn’t make them all, but still very much a high percentage look. They grab their own miss. Count that one. And the offense continues to work the ball around to get Giannis in that kind of position for a high percentage shot. James outside. Here’s Reeves. Guarded by Porter. Reeves. The pass to Aton. James. The bounce pass. Scooped up. Aton kicks to LeBron. And they have their chances. Two offensive rebounds, but they still come up empty. Porter passes to Turner. Kicks it out to Yiannis. And here’s Harris from the arc. That will not get it done. He’s 0 for two. Dishes to LeBron. Offensive rebound tries yet again. And finally, that one’s good. and one of the league’s best rebounders. When he really wants to get the ball, LeBron James can get in there and get his hand on it. Giannis kicks to Koozma. Outside turner, fires it up. Pulled the shot a little left, but the bounce goes his way. Makes decisive decisions on the hardwood. Once Turner saw the catch and shoot opportunity, he was locked and loaded. Now here’s Donic. He’s been patient so far. Nothing on the scoreboard yet. James has a two-pointer. James with another miss. Well, he wants that one over again. I guarantee that. Nobody’s even in the neighborhood. And the call on the shot that sends him to the line. and a player opt out for Kyle Kosma after this season. GA probably hoping to earn himself a raise. Yeah, and he’s a worker looking to round out his game and take that next step as he’s just entering his prime. first one falls for. Now, something that stands out about the Bucks is their versatility in their offensive package. I mean, they use penetration, they shoot the three, you know, whatever it takes to beat a good defense. Second free throw, no good. And Brent, what would you say is the secret to the Buck’s deep offensive arsenal? Well, it’s a variety of talents that they have on the floor. There’s just a combination of guys who want to move the ball, want to move their bodies, and then you get the ball to Giannis and you get out of the way. Here is Porter following the basket by DeAndre Eaton. Here’s Harris. No good on that one. LeBron with some nice deep. Here’s Reeves. That’s going to be out of bounds. Los Angeles will retain possession. Here’s James. Second chance shot onto Tumbo pulls it in. And Dumbo has got his fourth rebound in this one. Porter kicks to Harris and the rejection by LeBron. We’ve seen some big time blocks from LeBron James. Add that one to his reel. Porter looking it over. Not going to go that time. And so James will bring it up for the Lakers. They trail by one. Well, the compromised defense happened because of the attacking mentality of Hachimura. And this is his second trip to the line in the game. Shoot two. Ties it up. And this next one could give them the lead. Unlike a lot of perimeter oriented teams, GA offensively, the Bucks can really play inside out. No doubt. And and teams pack in the lane against Milwaukee, but Giannis in particular is a terrific passer. And if you leave a shooter open, he tends to find it. And that drops. So they now lead by one. Milwaukeee’s gone 0 of two from deep here to the paint. Here’s Turner. And it’s Turner finishing it off. Putting on the hard hat there. Give Turner credit for staying locked in on capitalizing no matter what. So the Lakers call timeout their first. And to see your son Greg find success in the NBA, I can only imagine that’s got to be so special for you. It is. I’m a proud papa because something that so few get to experience. So I I couldn’t be more proud of him and happy as well. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. And the Lakers making a change here. Here’s Donic. He’s been quiet so far. Still no points in the game. Poris against Hatchima. Honic left side. Down to five on the shot clock and the officials calling for a 3second violation. And right now, let’s watch that terrific swat. And boy did he get up quick to reject that shot. That’s as fundamental as defense gets. Milwaukee making a switch here. Green’s checked in. Vanderbilt’s checked in for Los Angeles. Vincent comes in for Luca Donuch. Milwaukee in the lead. Anthony get kicks to Green. Here’s Trent and foul on the shot. So he’ll get a chance at the line. That one on Smart for Milwaukee. They have gone one for two on the night so far from the line. And just to mention, a season ago, they were very comfortable at the line, hitting about 78% of their free throws. And he makes the first. So he hits one of two from the strike. Los Angeles is gone. One of three from beyond the arc so far in the game. James finds smart down low. Vanderbilt against Portoris. Pocket two. And again, the Lakers no good. And it’s Anthony with the ball for the Milwaukee Bucks. Over in the corner, Portis. offline with his three. The Lakers trait. LeBron is doubled. Hayes dishes to James. He can’t hit that time. And Milwaukee will come the other way with the teardrop. The shot by Anthony. No good. Here’s Los Angeles now. There’s the pass to Vincent. Over Anthony. And the Lakers get it back. And another shot. And they double LeBron. And the ball goes out of bounds. Last touch by James. Milwaukee’s gone 03 from three-point land. Nothing yet going outside. A floater. Trent can’t hit. Here’s Los Angeles now. Trailing by two. Pass to LeBron. Here’s Vincent. That doesn’t go in. Had a chance though to take the lead. Trent against James. Shots good by Turner. Turner’s got eight. Effort points by Turner. Working hard inside. Getting rewarded with some points. James looking around. Smart against Green. Five to shoot. They need this one. Smart misses. Bucks leading by four. Trent outside and that one clearly a foul. Gets the whistle and two shots coming up. That’s on LeBron James. The Bucks have gone two of four at the free throw line. That free throw no good. The Lakers making a switch here. Hatchimz checked in. and the second free throw. Good. Lakers trail by five. Passes it to Vincent. And here is Hatchim. Pass to Vincent. Can they get it? The rebound by Turner. Turner’s got five rebounds tonight. The pass to Poris. 144 left to play in the first quarter. Milwaukee needs to get off a shot here. from deep print. It’s held in by Los Angeles. Pass to Hatcheim Murray. Here’s Smart. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. As tough as they get. Smart’s a bulldog out there. Does a good job of drawing contact oftent times by initiating. Lakers shooting their fifth and six free throws of the game. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. That free throw missing. Well, probably a little draft in the arena tonight. He’s the last guy you expect to miss the mark by that much. Absolutely. So, we can’t get either to fall. And some of what Smart gives this team doesn’t always show up in the stat sheet, but but he makes plays that help you win. Now, here’s Poris still getting warmed up offensively. No scoring yet from him. The Bucks shooting their seventh and eighth attempt at the foul line tonight. No good on the free throw and the physicality. that Bobby Portoris brings to the game is something that his teammates really get behind. It makes him such an effective player out there impacting the attitude of so many. That one misses. Lakers trail by five. Outside smart. He lobbs up the alley pass and out of bounds as the Bucks gain possession. No clue where that pass was going. That is a brutal turnover. And so Green will bring it up for the Bucks. Passes it to Portoris. At the elbow, it’s Turner. Outside Anthony Back to Turner. Anthony finds Turner. He gets it in there. Turner’s got 10 points in the game. Simply overpowers the defense. Turner’s strength is of great value for his team. And that was the Mobile One drive. Well worth a second look. It’s all about the ability to get two feet in the paint. Whether it’s creating for a teammate or for yourself now here is Hiim to Hayes shoots over Turner and again the Lakers no good and it’s Milwaukey’s ball. They’re on a 15-6 run. Here’s Green and there’s two points. Working on the glass, paying off that time and the Bucks lead by nine. Hard work on the offensive glass. You can see the coaching staff rise up and clap for that effort. And that one’s good. Hatimar, great balance as Hachimura takes that hit and still converts. That shot no good. And so it’s Miles Turner making things happen for the Milwaukee Bucks. He got into double digits for the the quarter with 10 points total. We’ll get right back to the action when we return. And for those of you just tuning in, the second quarter of action is where we’re at right now. When you consider how the Bucks are doing, what do you guys think? Well, one way to generate more offense, pound the offensive glass. That was the difference in the first. Keep plays alive with your activity. That’s what it’s about. Bren, do you think shooting has improved over the years or are there just more good shooters on the floor? Well, Kevin, if you had a bubble, I’d be bursting it right now because if you look back over the last 10 years, maybe go 20 years. Shooting has not changed. Percentages have not changed, both from two-point land, three-point land, free throw line. It’s not that there are more good shooters in the league. There’s just more surprises as to who it is you see taking the shots. The four and five. Giannis and Portoris. Kevin Porter is out there with Harris and it’s Koosma in at the three spot. That’s the five on the floor for the Bucks and they call an illegal screen here. When a pick like that is questionable and creates that much of an advantage for the offense, you have to blow the whistle. Yeah, quick little lean like that is going to get the ref’s attention. Foul call. Now here’s Porter. He’s still scoreless so far in this one. Shoot and it’s Aton with the rebound. Well, that’s how to protect the rim without fouling. Force him into an awkward release and a bit of an adjustment on the layup. Bucks leading by seven. Now the pass to Yiannis. The shot is good and so is his shooting tonight. Three for four. And they keep hammering away at him inside, forcing the ball into the paint. Here’s Reeves. LeBron outside. Pass to Reeves. Hatchima with it. Now guarded by Porter. And the shot is good. The Bucks lead has been cut back down to a sevenpoint margin. Getting the points there from Hatchima. And Hachimura just strong doing what it took to get that one off. And a great job to get that angle on a tremendous drive. His team is down, but with the way he went at the rim, you know, they’ll keep fighting the entire game. And while we’ve got a moment, let’s send it over to our terrific reporter, David Aldridge. David, thanks very much. The Lakers are of course one of the league’s storied franchises and Magic Johnson was asked recently if they have the best all-time collection of players. He says it’s not even close. Outside of Bill, we have all the dominant closers. Kobe, Jerry, LeBron, now worthy. Come on now. It’s just too many Lakers. Kevin, back to you. He’s got a point, David, and we thank you for your report. Here’s Reeves. And a lot of contact on that one. So, he’ll shoot two here. First trip to the free throw line for him in this one. Shooting two. The first one falls. He hits both from the strike. Well, a great player on a great roll at the charity stripe. The D has got to be careful about being too aggressive on him and sending him back for freebies. Now, here is Harris. He’s gotten some minutes, but nothing on the board yet. Koozma outside just five on the clock over LeBron and it’s off the back rim. No good. Lakers trail by five looking to get back on track here. Kicks it to Donic. Passes to Reeds. Back to Donic. The three. Eightton trying to break free. Offensive rebound. Milwaukee leading by five. Here’s Koozma. No good from outside. After being selected first overall in the 2018 draft. Some teams question if DeAndre Eaton was worthy of that. Well, it took time for Aton to find his comfort zone and all of a sudden became a key piece that nobody’s questioning much anymore as an inside rebounder, rim protector, a guy who can score at a high level when asked to. Out to the wing. Here’s Koozma off the mark. And the drop continues. And here’s James. He’ll bring it up for the Los Angeles Lakers. Their defense has only allowed four points in the quarter. Donic finds James good on the shot and now just a a one-point Bucks lead and the allaround game of Donic. Not just a score, but a great dimeropper as well. Notices his open teammates quickly. Now here’s Koozma. Another miss by Koosma. And there hasn’t been anything easy for him in this period. No, I haven’t seen him in in comfortable spots or at least spots we’ve seen in this offensive set that are allowing him to settle in. Now here’s Porter following the miss by DeAndre Aton. Outside Porter inside Portoris and Portoris throws it down. Yeah. And Cortis needs to be pushed away from the rim. That’s too easy. Donic. Kicks to James. Back to Donic. Here’s Reeves. He nails it and we’re tied up. Reeves has got eight points. That’s a good find from Aton understanding the defensive scheme and he just waited for his teammate to be open. And the Bucks decide to take their first time out here. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. Here’s onto Tumbo. He has six outside. Porter floats one. A shot. No good. So, Los Angeles will take it the other way. J outside and no good. Had a chance to take the lead there. You know, every coach should show players game tape of how he just boxed out right there. Great job with the footwork and using his body to step to the rebound. Now here’s Koosma. It’s hauled in by Los Angeles’s got rebound number 11 for him here tonight. Hard outside. Eighton at the elbow. Laid in with a nice touch off the glass. Eightton’s got the lead up to two now for the Lakers. If can get in that kind of position, he can be a bully on the inside. Harris looking it over. Pass to Giannis. Six on the shot clock. Count the bucket. And he’s got a free throw coming up as well. The muscle of attentive. He’s just destroying the defense right now. And Greg, even with teams daring Giannis to shoot from outside, his career three-point percentage stuck below 30%. And still an elite scorer because of his proficiency at the rim. But it’s been said before, if he adds the triple, he’ll be truly unguardable. Free throw no good for Dumbo. And Giannis’s journey GA so incredibly compelling. A fulllength movie made about his and his brother’s path to the NBA. Well, you hear that saying, “My life is like a movie.” Never truer than for Giannis. It’s been an odyssey for the Greek freak. This is his third trip to the free throw line in the game. That free throw no good. And the Lakers with some changes. Vanderbilts checked in for James. And it’s Gabe Vincent in for Luca Donuch. and he ends up missing both free throws. Lakers have gone six of 13 so far from the field here in the second quarter. Here’s Vincent. shooting foul. As the whistle blows, he’ll shoot two free throws. Gabe Vincent is a guy who has not wasted opportunities. He was undrafted back in 2018, but fortunate enough to get a shot in the G-League, an opportunity he took full advantage of. shooting two. The first free throw is good. Eventually, Vincent won the GLeague’s most improved player award. Well, there were signs that he was league ready, so he rightfully got the call up. And in the first few instances where Gabe Vincent stepped on an NBA floor, he took that confidence with him and now is producing at an NBA level. That one falls. So he hits both of them. Milwaukee’s gone 0 or two from deep here in the center. Kumbbo kicks to Anthony on the wing. Green Trent outside. Lets it go with a three. Rebound the Lakers. Here’s Reeves. He’s got eight. And the pass to Hatchima. The shot cans it from short range. Hatchim’s got the lead up to four now for the Lakers. Yeah, here’s a list of things I don’t want to do. And right at the top is guard that guy. Pass to Green at Giannis. Passes it to Anthony on the wing. Green. Another shot and Yiannis with a nice bucket inside. And Dumbo has got six here in this quarter. So hard to stop down low. Giannis gets around the basket and it feels like within 8 ft he’s going to dunk just about anything. And the Lakers call time here. Yeah, you can’t make any excuses right now for them giving the ball up as much as they have in this one. Hopefully they can get on the same page during this timeout. Heat up The Lakers on offense. They’re on a 17-6 run. Pass to Vanderbilt. Now Smart. No points in the game yet for him. The offensive rebound tries again and he sinks the layup and the Lakers lead by four. And a better box out saves him two points there. It didn’t seem like anybody was really aware there to go and collect that rebound on the possession. Now here’s Trent and there’s the pass to Green. Here’s onto Tumbo. It’s rebounded by Hayes. Los Angeles leading by four to the middle and he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up. It’s going to be on Miles Turn. Nice work to get it inside and draw the contact. The Lakers have shot 70% from the free throw line tonight. Seven for 10. Numbers last year for them just about 73%. So the bottom third of the league. Shooting two. And that one misses. That one is no good. Bucks trail by four. Anthony right side can’t get it to fall. Here’s Los Angeles now. They’re on a 19-6 run. Pass to Vincent now. Smart headed by Green. Lakers working the ball around now. Here’s Hatchima. They get it back. A second chance effort and it’s good on the way in. Hatachimura’s got the lead up to six now for the Lakers. And Hachimura in there on the rebounding and I like to see him doing that. Let’s hope he keeps it up. Rebounded by the Bucks. Turner’s got seven rebounds in the game. There’s Green with the three and Tumbbo gets it to go. Giannis has got 12 points in the game. And more and more the confidence of Giannis to be one of those go-to scorers for seeing those shots. Passes it to Hatchim. Fires at the elbow and he hits the jump shot. He’s got 15. Well, this is a gravity game right now. Whatever he throws up must come down. He’s having a great game. Pass to Trent. Back to Yiannis. Shot clock at six. Trent outside. Puts up a three and onto Tumbo on the follow. Giannis down there in great position down low. And good timing on the putback. Outside smart. Vincent the pass to Vanderbilt. He kicks to Hayes. A pass to Vincent. Step back shot. Milwaukee with a rebound. Giannis has got rebound number 10 tonight with that last one. Trent Hatchima grabs the miss. Hatchima’s got five rebounds tonight. Smart passes to Hatchima. Now here’s Higgins. He’s covered closely. Over. Trent hits the front of the rim and out. Look at Look at the big fella working on that possession. He knows how to fend guys off and get those rebounds. These are the gaining coaches trust plays that Ruie showing on defense. Rui Hatimura has been leading the charge for the Lakers. What a quarter that saw them generate a great comeback effort and are now out in front with momentum behind them. Right back after this break. And now the 2K Sports Halftime Show. Hello basketball fans. What a pleasure it is to bring you into the 2K studios again. Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny the Jet Smith. The Lakers first quarter could have gone much better. They gave themselves a lot of work to do by letting the deficit get to as many as nine points in the period. There was a noticeable difference in their second quarter performance when suddenly they were the team controlling the action and are now holding a four-point lead at the half. And let’s get your thoughts, Kenny, on the Lakers. They found a slight edge on the boards and they’ve done it with nothing but raw determination. I mean, look, they’ve got talent, but the passion is there and that separates these guys. They’re simply refusing to give up possession. And Shaq, what do you think about Milwaukee? Give them credit for keeping the score this close while shooting just over 30%. In the backhanded way kind of gives you confidence because you know if you bring your percentage up just a little bit be enough to get you in front. That’s all for now. Say goodbye to the folks. Thanks for joining us. Third quarter just about ready to begin. And we’ve got second half action for you. Thus far, a pretty evenly contested game. Los Angeles leading by four. Taking a look at the Lakers. Aton is out there with Ruie Hatchimura and it’s LeBron James. Then there’s Luca Donic and it’s Reeves in at the shooting guard. LeBron kicks to Donic. Shot clock at five and the three off target. And when you can’t get anything to fall, it definitely gets in your head. especially if you’re a player that doesn’t get a lot of shot attempts, but otherwise the mindset is I just got to get the next one to go and you don’t want to put that much pressure on yourself. Now here’s Donic following the miss by Giannis. Flying his luck from deep. It’s hauled in by Yiannis. Outside Porter misses the three. And here’s James. He’ll bring it up for the Lakers. They lead by four. Reeves the pass to LeBron and he battles for the ball and gets the second chance bucket. James has got the lead up to six now for Los Angeles. Some tough offensive sets. They want to turn it around. Yeah, right now you just need a bucket to get some momentum. LeBron against Koosma. No good on the shot. LeBron with some nice deep. Here’s Hatchima. Milwaukee with the rebound. Not sure what what the D was doing there. Clearly a breakdown. You can ill afford to give a guy like him that good a look. Outside Porter Latree LeBron grabs the miss. James has got 13 rebound in the game seating. And let’s head over to the sideline and catch up with David Aldridge. Thanks guys. Now Marcus Smart is not shy with his philosophy. He says it takes little talent to play defense, but a whole lot of want to get every 50/50 ball, take charges, be a great teammate, compete, never be okay with losing. And Kevin, he has always walked the walk, too. He has defense as a player of the year. He’s a terrific player. No question about it. David, thank you. Harris finds Turner and he makes that one. Turner’s got 12 points in the game. Just continuing to develop an overall game that was evident coming into the league. Gary Harris getting better at spotting the open man. Here’s Reeves. Eight points for him. Out to the right wing and the Lakers with another miss. Oo, he missed an easy chance to put some points on the board. He won’t get a much better look at that kind of shot again here probably tonight. They didn’t have much of a problem getting the ball into the post that time. Oh, what an impressive dribble drive. That replay brought to you by Mobile One. And that’s the kind of bucket they needed. Close game in the second half. Great finish on that one. From deep James, the rebound by the Bucks. And Dumbo has got rebound number 15 here tonight. Bucks passing it around for the tie. Good. And Harris gets the assist onto the Kumbo’s got it all tied up now for the Bucks. That’s fun to see the handles coming out there from a Kumbbo. I mean, how do you stop a near sevenfooter who’s got some dribble skills like that? James has a two-pointer. He can’t get it to go. And Milwaukee the other away now. Here’s Koozma. for the lead. Rebounded by the Lakers. Eightton’s to the inside and contact on the shot. So, he’ll be shooting free throws here. Oh, man. Putting points on the board. The defense being tough on Hachimura. He’s gone three for four from the line. He misses the free throw. Poris, he’s checked in for Milwaukee. that’s off as well. So he misses both. Hawks have gone a lackluster three of nine from the field since halftime from the high post. No good off the back of the rim. Milwaukee has gotten blank from three-point land so far in the third. Still 0 for three. Back to Harris. Kachimura against Portoris. Koosma can’t get it to go. And so it’s Dunic with it. He brings it up for the Los Angeles Lakers. Their defense has only allowed six points in the second half. Now here’s James. He’s got six over Porter. And the Lakers with another miss. Not a way to get out of a funk. He needs to be looking for good, solid, more efficient shots, not the wild one he took there. Here is Harris still looking for his first bucket in this one. Pass to Reeves. He dishes it to LeBron. Left side shoots over Turner. Los Angeles with another miss. Buck shoot. a pretty sorry 29% from the floor here. Here’s Koozma and he overshot that one. Missing passes to Reeves. Here’s Hatchima. A miss that time would have put him up. And it’s the Bucks ball. And back in 2020 when Miles Turner put up a crazy stat line. Seven made threes, 13 rebounds, and three blocks. Just the fourth time someone has reached those numbers in a game. Los Angeles calls timeout. And for Turner, Greg, that ridiculous line has been equaled by only two players ever. And Kevin, how about that? Only Carl Anthony Towns and Vince Carter who’ve had the combination of threes, rebounds, and blocks. Shows you how special Turner’s allaround game is. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Vanderbilt’s checked in for Hatchimal. And so it’s the Lakers with it. James outside. Pass to Reeves. Back to LeBron. Five on the clock. Shoots over Koosma. James. No good. Harris with it. He’s picked up by James. And Gary Harris is going to pick up the foul. That’s his first foul. I that one stings there. Hurts so much more to turn the ball over, especially with how tight the game is. Marcus Mars checked in for the Lakers. And looking at that replay again, just a big time block right there. And this is why coaches stress the importance of defense. Big block there in this close game. Donic against Porter to stop the run. It’s not going to go for him. Guzma with the defensive effort. Porter against Smart. Porter dishes to Turner and foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. It’s on Luca Donuch. Yeah, that was bound to get ugly. Turner is so assertive working inside. Defense got messy. Take a break. Take break. Two shots. First free throw is good. Friends checked in for Harris. And then for the Lakers, Jackson Hayes comes in for DeAndre Aton. And Vincent subbed in for Luca Donic. both shots good from the strike. Lakers trail by five. The pass to Vincent down low and stolen by Portoris. And here’s the fast break. Porter leading the way. He gets a lot of points right there at the rim, but the defense determined not to give up the easy deuce there. Pass to Vincent. LeBron outside six to end the cold streak. Milwaukee with the rebound. Porter’s got four rebounds now to Nice looking to end his cold spell. Offensive rebound and it’s Turner finishing it off. And a big night for Miles Turner so far. Really playing hard, trying to make every possession count. Los Angeles calls timeout. trying to snap them out of this little slump. Well, they can’t find the net right now and all they need, I think, is just to get one to go, get back on track. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Honda vents Milwaukee. They’ve only allowed two points so far here in the second half inside. Here’s Vanderbilt. And again, no good by the Lakers. And they just can’t find a way to end this thing. Nothing falling right now. Frustration seems to be mounting here. And you can see not just in their faces, but right now in their quick and hurry shot selection. So it’s the Lakers now following the miss by Kyle Guzma. Smart trying to break free. Vincent misses. Now here’s Porter. Nothing yet on the scoreboard for him. Taken away by Hayes. Here’s Vincent. Guarded by Porter. Koozma against LeBron. Here’s Vincent. And no good. The dry spell continuing for him. It’s Porter outside. Lakers trail by seven. They’ve been looking out of sync offensively. Yeah, that their offense has ground to a standstill. And it’s Porter with the ball for Milwaukee. Trent can’t hit. James the pass to Smart. tries to keep it alive and the ball travels out of bounds. It was last touched by Smart. That is just a careless turnover. You’ve got to be smarter in those exchanges. The Bucks making a change here. Anony’s checked in. Milwaukee leading by seven. Pass to Poris and Portoris throws it down. Total let down by the D. Can’t leave the bucket unprotected. Absolutely. and it attacks an easy two points onto the lead. Will not find a higher percentage opportunity than that. Here’s Koozma. Off target there. That would have pushed the lead to double digits. That shot misses. Excellent D there from Anthony. Here’s Trent. Great D that time from LeBron. Lakers trail by nine and Gary Trent gets the whistle that time. That’s his first foul. Hans Takumbo’s checked in for Milwaukee. Green comes in for Anthony. Andre Aidens check in for the Lakers. on defense Milwaukee. Back to LeBron. Nails the wideopen jump shot. James has got four points this quarter. And thanks to that bucket, he’s finally able to stop that little 150 run by Milwaukee. The drive by Green. Some solid defense from Eightton. And the effort never stops with him. No easy shots when he’s on the floor. Well, it’s about the defensive end and that’s what guys feed off. He gives the effort down there at all times. And here is Poris after Marcus Smart got his shot to go from deep. Portis in the post. Vanderbilt defending. Yeah, easy call. He’s 0 of two at the line in this one. shooting two. Free throw good. Poris and the Lakers making a change here. Hatchimz checked in. and Portoris trains both of them. They can go two for one. It’s about being smart right now. It’s throw in bound to Jacumbbo. No one near him. And James pulls it down. James has got rebound number 17 if you can believe that. 5second differential between the shot clock and the game clock. Misses from close range. Yeah, take your time. You don’t give them another possession. Yeah, hopefully that’s what they’ll do here. It’s what most teams try to execute at this time in the game. Hatimura, the pass to Eightton. He doesn’t hit that one. And so it’s the Milwaukee Bucks with their lead standing at six points here at the end of the quarter. Their defensive mindset clearly focused on clamping down on LeBron James and their game plan is working. And don’t go away. We’ll be right back. Here now a chance to show you our assist of the game and it’s presented as always by State Farm. Just true artistry right there. I mean, great decision on where to go with the ball and how about the perfect delivery. Yeah, those are the kind of plays that you’ll want to put on a canvas. Just beautiful basketball. Three tense quarters behind us. One more to go. Thanks for being with us as we begin the fourth. They’ve got Harris. Turner is out there with Poris. And then there’s Andumbbo and it’s Porter in at the point. That’s the five on the floor for the Bucks. Portoris kicks to Harris. Just five on the clock and stolen by Eaton. Here’s Reeves guarded by Harris. Reeves can’t hit and Zoianis will bring it up for the Milwaukee Bucks. Harris inside the feed to Turner. Two free throws coming up and they call the shooting foul. And it’s crucial that Turner remains assertive like this because it’s how he’s going to get these calls. shooting two. And the first one drops. All three throws good from Turner. Lakers trail by eight. Pass to Reeves. James outside. There’s the pass to Hatchima. And another field goal in his total. Make it seven for 14 shooting 50%. Aimura ready. Had that shot lined up on the wing. Yiannis. Nice ball movement by Milwaukee. Porter, no luck. And maybe, you know, he thinks he can shoot himself out of the cold spell, but I don’t think that’s the case. Maybe somebody want to tell him to ease up off the brief and he recovers it. DeAndre Aiden happy to shoot at that range. Nice stroke. Bucks leading by four. Porter bounce pass. Poris against Hatchima. Porter passes to Yiannis. Lakers with the rebound. Last quarter of play about two minutes in now. Outside pass to LeBron. No good with the triple. The Buck shooting 27%. The offense is just embarrassing themselves. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. Free throw good. Pis Kyle Kosma’s checked in for the Bucks. And Portoris drains both both of them. Lakers trail by six. Fourth quarter of play and we’re about two and a half minutes through it right now. Passes it to Eightton. Donic feeling it out. Shot clock at six. James with a deep three and the shot clock expires. 24se second violation. Bucks leading by six. Krzma outside. Pass to Foris over Eightton. Milwaukee no good that time either. LA’s gone 0 for three so far in the fourth quarter from long range. And the foul on Ruie Hetchimmer. That’ll be his second foul of the game. We’re in the final quarter of play here. 3 minutes in and there’s the pass to Harris. Back to Porter. It’s on Kumbbo on the wing and stolen by Eaton. Donic bounce pass. LeBron kicks to Donic and Aton throws it down. Great game for him. Double double out. 10 points and 21 rebounds. Now a timeout called by Milwaukee. The short rest very important and one of the benefits of this part of the game is getting on the same page with your team while having the chance to hydrate with Gatorade. Replenish your energy for the late game push. And with an update from the sidelines, let’s check in with David Aldridge. Well, during the break, I listened in on Doc Rivers talking to the team. He said, “Guys, we don’t want to play hero ball. We don’t want to take threes that aren’t there. There are better options when you run the offense all the way through.” He will see if they can make that adjustment. Thank you, David. Now, here is Hetime Mura. Here’s Reeves. Pass to Hatchima over Porter. That’s in. And the Milwaukee lead is cut down now to just two on the basket from Himura. You feel like Ruie has himself locked in. And right now making a big impact offensively. LeBron against Koosma for three. Harris. No good there. So Los Angeles will take it the other way. Anjitch passes to Reeds and the officials signal the back court violation. Not very careful there. Milwaukee with the ball given up just eight points in the fourth quarter. Donic against Porter. And there’s the call on Kevin Porter. That is his first foul of the game. Oh, great defense. They anticipated the play and got there first. The Lakers have gone four of eight in this fourth quarter. Shooting an even 50% from the field to tie it up and contact on the shot. So, he’ll be shooting free throws here. A generational talent. Donic able to carry a team and make others around him better. makes it and the next one could tie it And it’s tied up with that one. And so it’s Porter bringing it up now for the Milwaukee Bucks. Pass Zakuzma looking to get it going. No good on that one. Nice D from Donic. Well, after an impressive first half, he’s just not been able to get the room or get anything going here in the second. LeBron against Koosma and stolen by Portoris. Feeds it to Giannis. Another miss and they desperately need a bucket. LA’s gone 0 for three so far in the fourth quarter from long range. And that’s a solid flush from Hachimura. Pass to Harris. Lankers with the rebound. Aimura’s got six rebounds in the game and the pass to Donic. Lakers looking the ball around now. Reeves the pass to LeBron over Harris. Here’s Hatton. And oh boy, a lot of contact there, but he gets the call and will shoot two. It’s on Bobby Poris. Big man you don’t want to send to the line. DeAndre Aton’s free throw capabilities keep him on the floor at all times. and he knocks down the first one. And Aiden with that efficiency just becomes an outstanding option for what you do offensively. Eighton hits from them both. Bucks trail by four. They need a bucket in a big way here to regain some confidence. Harris outside. Can they get it? Greavves with the rebound for Los Angeles. They’ve gone five of 10 50% from the field. And even without that three ball dropping for him, the defense should have done more on that last play. Now here’s Koosma. A kick out to Han Dumbo. Shot clock at five. Driving to the basket. And yes, it’s good. And that stride that you see from Giannis is just so effective out there getting around defenders. And another great look at the 2K drive. And it’s the Lakers ball. They’re on a 14-4 run right now. Reeves the pass to LeBron. pass to Reeds. Here’s Hatton off on the lamp. And it’s still a rare sight to see rebound numbers like the ones he’s had tonight. Well, this kind of effort will energize the team and get you going. Just gobbling up every board. Koozma against Hatchima. Kicks to LeBron. Here’s Reeves guarded by Harris. Reeves. The pass to Donic. Just five to shoot. Oh, in position. It’s the inbound to Kumbbo to tie it up and foul on the shot. And he’ll shoot two at the free throw line. It’s on Luca. So tough to contain the length of Giannis when he takes those strides. He’s going to make you foul him. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. makes it and the next one could tie it up. The perennial MVP candidate continues to thrive and it’s Giannis’s work ethic that has separated him from most. Miles Turner, he’s checked in for Bobby Poris. So, he picks up just one from the line that time. Here’s the Lakers with the ball. They’re on a 14 to five run here. And here’s TSH from the arc and it’s sent back by Turner. And I would not test Turner. And Miles has led the NBA in blocks and just has great timing on his jumps. LeBron outside, passes it to Eightton. Six to shoot. Tries a three. The rebound by Turner. Turner’s got rebound number 12 already in the game. Out to Koozma over James. And again the Bucks miss. The Lakers in the lead. Anj outside. Here’s Reeds. Back to Dunes. Basket is good. He’ll get a chance for one more at the line. How about the poise from Donic right there? He he ups the Annie when it’s a critical possession here in the game. And let’s take a moment here to get your guys take on scoring so far for the Lakers. They’ve had a lot of success just getting the ball inside and until the defense adjusts, I don’t see any reason to go away from that strategy. You probably have to touch on as well that tonight their penetration has been awesome. I mean, they put force on this game attacking off the bounce and a willingness to do that has paid off. Anic good on the free throw. And you watch the way Donic runs this offense. He’s become a master at the pick and roll. Incredible to see someone run it to perfection. Los Angeles leading by three. Over to the wing. LeBron outside. That three off the mark. And with Donic in the pick and roll game, he’s so good at such a young age. It’s amazing how well he reads the defense, but he can also freeze the defender or create confusion with that hesitation. He has all the tricks to run it. Here’s Donic following the score by Miles Turner. Los Angeles calls timeout. Whether things are good, bad, or indifferent, coaches will have adjustments to make throughout the course of the game. Yeah. Not just there to pump up or to discipline players. So, you got to make sure that the coach makes the proper adjustments and has his team in the right mindset to carry it out. And now we present our New Balance player of the game, DeAndre Aton. And the D tried to get physical with him down low tonight and and it really backfired. Instead, he’s just torn them up. He was aggressive inviting the contact and really just taking it straight to him. Now here’s Donic has to Reeves. His three-pointers off the mark. Here’s Yiannis and the basket is good. Yiannis has got five points in the quarter. Yiannis attends Kubov is a star in this league and more and more the team trusts him in those moments. Dic finds James. Here’s Eaton. Good. And the assist goes to LeBron. LeBron’s got four assists in the game. How about that? Aton showing why he was picked first overall. That’s a reason. No good. And so it’s Himura who brings up the ball for the Los Angeles Lakers. They lead by one and that one’s good. Eighton, such a tremendous physical profile that Eightton has. He’s getting it done down low. Right side border. Here’s Yach banked in off the glass onto the Kumbos. He’s got 23. And that’s what you want your leaders to do. Yiannis stepping up in a big way. James outside now the pass to Donic to the wing right side. James outside rebounded by the Bucks. Well, if you believe in the numbers that mid-range shot is not a high value shot even with little or no defense on you. Now here’s Porter pass to Kumbbo. Krzma outside to the paint. Got it. The nerves on this guy. Not backing down in this moment here. When the game is close, he kicks it up enough. Los Angeles calls timeout. They’re trailing by one. 29 seconds left in the fourth quarter. 29 seconds left to play in the final quarter. Here’s LeBron. The shot comes out and they commit an intentional foul. We see another one of those. so that you get him to the penalty. Yeah, you have to do that though. You can’t just let him dribble a game. There’s 21 seconds left in the fourth and they go to the intentional foul. He doesn’t hit the first and that was the one they really wanted. He’s got one more though. A chance for Porter to show up the doubters and make the defense regret this foul. 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter of this one. LeBron against Koosma. Shoots over Koosma. Ooh, offline. And now an intentional foul. They need the ball back as soon as possible. And no good as the first free throw missing for him. We’ll see if he can nail the second. And one of those guys who fell in the draft the year he came out due to injury. Porter healed up and has taken the lead by storm.
