Durant spoke on the idea of teams making huge trades Feb. 1, after learning about the Dallas Mavericks dealing Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers and getting Anthony Davis in return.

“You start seeing stuff like that, as an organization, you might get a little more courage to do some stuff,” he said after Phoenix lost at Portland. “You see another team trade away somebody like that. This got to be the biggest trade I've seen since I've been in the league or since I've been watching the sport. This is insane. So yeah, every other team might get confidence and say (expletive) it, I'll trade a few of my top players if this ain't working.”

  1. KD signing with GSW after they won the championship is the most insane thing I ever seen.

He literally broke the league just to win a championship smh.

  2. The Luka trade brought me closure as a Raptors fan for the fleecing of Rob Babcock by the Nets for Vince Carter.

At least we were expecting VC to get traded! This was the most out-of-left-field trade ever. In any sport.

  3. Conspiracy theory:
Could it be possible that there were other forms of compensation?
New Lakers owners made it possible before being part of the league. Anything is possible

  4. I’m just in here to state that this quote was already in a prior post on here hours ago and I was shocked nobody isolated it at the time. Kudos, OP

  5. When the Lakers traded SHAQ they got Lamar Odom, Caron Butler, Brian Grant and a future first-round pick, who turned into Jordan Farmar

How would that trade rank today?

  6. That’s a generous way to put it. The lakers avoid another rebuild process than any legitimate franchise would be forced to do after the lebron purge… this time the league didn’t even try and hide it.

And then somehow people are preoccupied with the clippers! The world is a wild place these days.

  7. Hurry up off-season I need you to go away. We are running out of basketball things to talk about.

  8. The trade, all of a sudden, makes perfect sense and isn’t crazy at all – if you assume that Cooper Flagg was part of it from the beginning!

Corruption, crazy I know, in a league that throws playoff series and has $48m no-show contracts!

  9. Every fucking day I’m reminded and every fucking day is pain

I don’t understand how every game is not filled with “FUCK YOU NICO” chants, it’s embarrassing
