EMBARRASSMENT: New Orleans Saints Prove Preseason WORST TEAM Projections Valid In Embarrassing Loss

For the first time in the 2025 NFL season, the New Orleans Saints look like their preeason projection as one of the worst teams in the NFL. We got all that and a little bit of land yet for you on today’s episode of Locked on Saints. You are Locked on Saints, your daily New Orleans Saints podcast, part of the Locked On Network. Your team every day. [Music] What is good Huda nation and Huda family? I am your host, your friend Ross Jackson, New Orleans native, your New Orleans Saints expert and credential member of the media covering those New Orleans Saints as a Saints beat writer over at Louisiana.net. And on today’s episode of Locked on Saints, if you were looking for a bright spot from this New Orleans Saints performance up against the Seattle Seahawks, it was a little tough to find, but we always like to end on a positive note. We’ll go into a couple of details around guys like Spencer Rattler and Quincy Riley who did find some ways to be bright spots in an otherwise very dull and dim performance. The New Orleans Saints next step must be accountability. Kell Moore detailed a little bit of what that might look like. And we’ll kick everything off with the truth of the matter. The New Orleans Saints can’t hide their flaws here in a massive blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks where they truly looked like one of the worst teams in the NFL. We got all that coming up for you on today’s episode. We appreciate you very much whether it’s your first time or your next time being here with us this time, making us your first listen and being it every day or here on the show, which is a proud part of the Lock Podcast Network. Like all of the players that you know and love, we sweat every detail because when you make every move count, pulling off the unexpected is only the beginning. Stay tuned later for highlights from this week’s moving the game forward by Mazda move and be move. The New Orleans Saints absolutely looked like their preseason projection of the if not one of the whichever one you want to look at worst teams in the NFL in their 44-13 loss up against the Seattle Seahawks. Now, I’ve made it a point after each of the first two games of the season to say that I’m not going to come in here and bash the New Orleans Saints for being what we expected them to be. But this was a game where the Saints fell short of their expectation. They were going up against a middle class team in the Seattle Seahawks and looked absolutely outclassed, overwhelmed, and underprepared going into this matchup. This game got away from them immediately right at the beginning of the game. Typically, we do a postgame show. I ended up not doing that 15-minute postgame show because of the time zone difference. I didn’t want to put something out that wasn’t going to go out there until like 11:00 p.m. and everything that you wouldn’t be able to actually have the time to enjoy. And so I wanted to focus everything into this episode. And we would typically go through things like the turning point, player of the game, what you’ll be talking about tomorrow. Well, what you’re going to be talking about today is just how abysmal that performance was by the New Orleans Saints. Because even though the expectations were low, while the aspirations were high for the Saints going into this game, going into the season, this felt like a new low for the New Orleans Saints, one of the worst performing games that we’ve seen. It felt like one of the worst coached games that we have seen. This New Orleans Saints team came out and immediately made the exact same mistakes that they have made in each of the last two games. Missed tackles, missed sacks, or rather almost sacks. um penalties on third down, double- digit penalties again in this one, an inability to generate explosive plays on the offensive side of the football. And we’ve seen some cracks in the foundation for the special teams unit going in through those first couple of weeks of the game. It should have been a larger warning sign, but we really really saw this New Orleans Saints special teams unit bottom out in this game. 95 punt return for a touchdown by Seattle even though Kai Kroger had a 61yd punt on that. Maybe there was a block in the back. I have to go back and look at it. But in any case, I don’t know if it would have made a difference if I’m honest. 60-yard kick return uh blocked punt as well right after the 95 yard uh punt return touchdown. Just a rough game. The Saints failed in all three phases throughout this one. And so I could sit here and I could, you know, hound on the Saints for being, you know, awful in this matchup, but I don’t think I’m going to say anything that people don’t know. I don’t think I’m going to come in here with some kind of wild and really incredible and poignant thing to say about how the New Orleans Saints struggled in this matchup. Think about it. In the first half, the San the the Seattle Seahawks possessed the ball for just seven minutes and 41 seconds, yet scored 38 points. They had eight rushing yards in the first half and yet scored 38 points. They had only run something like 20 some odd plays in the first half yet scored 38 points. This was an absolute failure in all three levels in all three phases of the game for the New Orleans. and head coach Kell Moore came right out and said it that they lost in all three phases that they got beat that they didn’t put themselves in a good position that they uh didn’t execute the way that they needed to execute he said that it started with him I asked him what exactly does that mean what are the things that you want to continue to improve and he talked about you know getting these guys prepared coming into games they look completely underprepared coming into this matchup completely and we asked Spencer Rattler about it Spencer Rattler said what makes perfect sense they felt good going into the game but all of a sudden and the game started and he said, “You blink and then bang, you’re down three scores.” And that’s exactly what happened to this team. It was one of the worst starts I’ve ever seen for an NFL team in a game. It was one of the worst performing games I’ve seen from the New Orleans Saints. It was the LA It was the first time that they were down 30 plus points in a first half since 2005. They nearly went into halftime down 35 points. It would have been the first time that that happened since 1979. And thankfully one late field goal in the first half kept them from that which didn’t make sense because the Saints were super aggressive in the first half and in their first two possessions with a fourth and two going for it on fourth and two that ended up coming up short. Then they tried the tush push on fourth and one and again got flagged. They got flagged for offsides last time, offensive offsides last time in week one. This time they got flagged for false start and then they had to punt after that. So, two failed fourth down attempts, but two fourth down attempts that they decided to go for it. Yet, at the end of the first half, they’re in striking distance on fourth down and instead of going for it, they choose to kick a field goal as if that was going to build any momentum. I don’t understand that choice. I understand the impetus behind the decision, but I disagree with it. I don’t think that a field goal gives you momentum, right? And that’s what Kell Moore said. Keller Moore said that they opted for the field goals at the end there or throughout the game in those scoring distance situations when they were deep inside the red zone on a fourth down. And the reason why they opted for those field goals is because they wanted to build some momentum, get some points on the board, build some momentum. But I don’t feel like settling for a field goal deep in the fourth in deep in the red zone really builds any momentum for you. And so what’s the difference between going for it on fourth down and maybe not getting that touchdown and kicking the field goal? I think that the difference in terms of momentum is trivial if not entirely invisible. And so for me, like looking at this New Orleans Saints team, this was the first time so far this season that we have seen the team look like what the national prognosticators said about this team throughout the first three games, which was that they were going to be the worst team in the NFL. This is the first time they looked like they would be. This is the first time they looked like they could be, if not the certainly one of the worst teams in the league, cuz in the first two weeks at least they were in it. There was no bright spot in this game. Well, there were bright spots in this game, but there was no like silver lining, no saving grace, you know, and Kell Moore said as much, right? Like, nobody’s going to come in and save you. People aren’t going to feel bad for you. You just have to go back to work and try to get better. That’s what New Orleans Saints are going to do. But they got outclassed by a middle class team here in the Seattle Seahawks, and now they go up against one of the NFL elites in the Buffalo Bills next weekend. That’s probably not going to bode well. So, it’s a bit of a tell the truth Monday here, right? New Saints look like one of the worst teams in the NFL on Sunday. Now, what’s next? And the big thing that’s next is accountability. And Kell Moore kind of spoke about what that might look like. We got that coming up for you next as we continue on with today’s episode of Locked on Saints, part of lockdown podcast network, your team every day. Accountability is probably one of the most important things for the New Orleans Saints as they move forward through the rest of the 2025 NFL season. The New Orleans Saints, like I mentioned, looked like one of the worst teams in the NFL, which was their preseason sort of projection going into this matchup, but the season’s not over. They might not end up being the worst team, and the only way for them to be able to do that is to hold themselves accountable. We spoke to a couple different players in the locker room, as well as head coach Kell Moore after the game, as is typical. And I wanted to highlight something that Kell Moore said because it was one of the most hard-nosed head coachy things that I’ve heard Kell Moore say. Kell Moore has an a very positive demeanor about him. He very much believes in his team, believes in the guys that are around him. And I think that there’s nothing wrong with that as long as you can also simultaneously hold guys accountable when they’re not showing up. And Kellen Moore showed when it was appropriate and in an appropriate way in my opinion that he is willing to hold players accountable at a time where it mattered the most. At the end of this game, an absolute blowout, an embarrassment of a performance for the New Orleans Saints, Kell Moore said the following when I asked him about accountability and how it is that he ensures that that accountability happens. like how do you walk the line between discipline in terms of benching or whatever it might be and giving those guys another opportunity in terms of accountability to go out there and and be better than they looked before. And this is what he said. He said that we acknowledge, talk through, and obviously understand that if someone can’t play that way, i.e. the way that they want them to play, then obviously we’ve got to go and find the guys who can. but I have all the confidence in the world that these guys will respond the right way. And I thought that was a very appropriate response by Kell Moore. And I thought that that was maybe one of the most kind of pointed head coachy things that we’ve heard from him. And this was my big question mark about Kell Moore. I think Kell Moore is a brilliant football coach, a brilliant offensive mind, and somebody that details and is very intentional about every step of the process. Those are strong and good qualities to have as a head coach. However, my big question was, what is he like when the New Orleans Saints start this season 0 and4? You remember that’s always been my prediction. It’s still my prediction, especially after this game, knowing that the Saints have to take on the Buffalo Bills next weekend, an actual Super Bowl contender as opposed to a middle class football team like Seattle. This to me was a very important statement from Kell Moore that basically said, “Look, believe in the players that he coaches. He believes in the players that he coaches. He believes that those guys can go out there and do the right thing, improve, get better, all this other stuff. But if they can’t, then he understands the need to go and find the players that can. And I think that this is a really, really important turning point, if you will, for New Orleans because you say this, it means you need to act by it. And so if the Saints find that there are players that aren’t playing up to their standard, that aren’t up to snuff, then they have to show the action behind the words. We’ve talked about accountability already on this show and we’ve talked about how important it is even in situations where they were competitive late in the game, which obviously was not the case here when it comes to Seattle Seahawks. But knowing that they weren’t competitive at the end of the game, is important. knowing that what little positives there were to come from this game that they don’t matter in terms of the result of the matchup and the results that have to follow because of that, right? The actions that have to follow because of the result. And so as long as Kell Moore and the New Orleans Saints are looking at this game and not saying, and Kell Moore was very clear that this will not be the case for them, they’re not just going to brush this game away and say, “Well, that was a fluke of a game or not going to pay attention.” He said that they will very much be honest, most importantly, with themselves. Justin Reed, who was fantastic in the locker room after a really, really tough game. Uh Cameron Jordan, who was fantastic at the podium after a really tough game. That’s why it’s important to have veterans on the team. Both of those guys saying that basically the veterans need to hold players accountable and players need to hold themselves accountable and that they expect that coaches will hold themselves accountable as well. Justin Reed said there’s not going to be any fingerpointing, but everybody needs to accept their personal responsibility and their personal accountability when a result like this 44-13, which somehow that score feels better than what the game actually was. You know those games to where you know it’s 44 to you know the game ends 44 to 35 but at one point it was like 44 to 20 and you say well the final score actually looked better than the result. 44 to13 was a final score that looked better than the actual game. Saints drove down, they got a touchdown. Spencer Rattler with the play action roll out. Jack Soul in the back of the end zone. Got a couple of field goals as well throughout this matchup. But none of that matters and that’s the big thing. It’s not that it doesn’t matter. It’s just that none of that changes the result of what this game was and the result of what this game means for New Orleans. That’s the big thing for me. And this is where accountability comes in. It’s not just that the Saints played a bad game. it’s that this game now sets them up to completely sink as they move forward through the rest of the season. They have the Buffalo Bills on the way. The New York Giants are coming to town the weeks after that. That’s where I predicted them to get their first win, but we know that the Giants have played this things hard in the Superdome in recent years when the Giants were supposed to be terrible, right? And then you continue to move on through the season from there. And so, the accountability absolutely has to be there. And we’ve already started to see some of it. You’ll notice that Quincy Riley began to rotate in. Our insiders got this very early cuz I had heard that Quincy Riley was going to get in and be a little bit more of a rotational piece. Let’s see how that continues. Do the Saints finally start to rotate a guy like Danny Stzman in? Toriselli Simpkins moved into left guard while Trevor Penning was an emergency option after having only practiced a couple times in the week and being limited in those practices. And so, how many of those young guys get their opportunities moving forward? Blake Groupy just missed a third kick in a third week in a row. At what point do you start to say, “Okay, got to start taking a look at the guys that are going to be a part of this franchise’s future as opposed to giving swings and swings and swings to players that might not be a part of your uh equation after this season. And so, they need to be given the opportunity to prove that they can be a part of the equation after the season. But if they can’t show up, who are and how long do the Saints wait until they’re able to identify the players that can come in and give them what it is that they need? This is what we’re going to be watching next for the New Orleans Saints. Accountability and not just accountability through words, which was the Dennis Allen way. Kell Moore needs to show his way of accountability through action. If they can’t find the players that can play the way that they want, where will what will they do? They need to find the players that will. The New Orleans Saints did have some bright spots. We do like to try to end on a positive message here. So, I want to tell you a little about Quincy Riley’s day. I want to tell you a little bit about Spencer Rattler’s day as well. It’s not going to be enough to change your mind about how the New Orleans Saints perform. It’s not going to be enough to change my mind about how the New Orleans Saints performed, but we will end on a positive note because there were some positives coming out of this game. We got that coming for you next as we continue on with today’s episode of Locked on Saints, part of Lockdown Podcast Network, your team every day. This episode is brought to you by Mazda’s moving the game forward for those who believe that it’s not just about playing the game, but redefining it. There are moments that do more than just put points on the board. They help to move crowds. They move culture and they move the game forward. And this week’s moving the game forward for the New Orleans Saints was very hard to come by in a really bad display by this team. But I will highlight rookie quarterback Quincy Riley, who got his first ever defensive exposure in the NFL as a rookie and ends up forcing a turnover in the process, punches a ball out to force a fumble that was recovered. It was the Saints only takeaway of the game and allowed the Saints to get another opportunity and another rep for their offense. didn’t help the final score, but a good first confidencebuilding appearance for Quincy Riley, who could be a big part of the Saints future. When you follow what moves you, the unexpected is only the beginning. And just like there’s more to every highlight, there’s more to every Mazda vehicle. Mazda, move and be moved. Today’s episode also brought to you by friends over at FanDuel. The NFL season is well underway, and FanDuel is making sure that you’re ready for every week’s kickoff with a can’tmiss offer. Download the FanDuel app today by heading over to fanduel.com and you can get started right away. That’s fanduel.com to place your first $5 bet. Let’s get it. Hudad Asian New Orleans Saints rookie cornerback Quincy Riley and secondyear quarterback Spencer Rattler were the brightest parts of an otherwise dim and dull day for the team. We appreciate you very much as always for being here with us every single Monday through Friday and then some. Don’t forget you can always catch us over on the GF Coast Sports Entertainment Network at 10 a.m. every Monday through Friday. We appreciate you very much for being here. No matter how the Saints perform, we will be here for you every Monday through Friday and then some. We might start turning our attention to draft picks and things like that pretty early here this season. So, make sure you’re along for the ride with all of that, but I’ll make sure everybody and every interest is covered here when it comes to breaking down games, still previewing games, things like that, cuz games are still exciting. People who love football love football regardless of how the team’s performing and things like that. So, we’ll be sure to go through all that, but we’ll also take a look at like what this team needs to be doing uh in terms of looking for its future. and they’re a rebuilding team, which is why it is worth pointing out some standout performers that are young players that can very much be a part of this team’s future. I want to start off with quarterback Quincy Riley. I I mentioned earlier on in the game in the game earlier on in the show uh that I had heard that Quincy Riley was going to be rotated in a little bit more in this matchup. That indeed happened even before Kool-Aid McKentry at one point got taken out and checked for a concussion. He was cleared and ended up re-entering the game. Same thing happened with Eric uh not Eric Reid, Justin Reed. I caught myself that time. Uh Justin Reed uh who also uh not only got checked for a concussion, but had his helmet come off and then got cleed in the face with his helmet off. So glad that he’s okay after the game. just awful uh scenario there for any player. Um but both those guys ended up being able to come in the game. So so before come back in the game. So even before there were injuries in the secondary, Quincy Riley was already starting to rotate in. Like I mentioned earlier, our insiders got that early which you can join the insider program by clicking the link in the description or texting who to 5042857473. That’s where I send most of my advanced information. I don’t really play newsbreaker on social media. I typically just go to my insider program. And so if you want in on that, you would have known about Quincy Riley early. I knew he was going to be rotating in. I was told it earlier on this week and we saw it and it happened before. There were injuries there and I thought Quincy Riley performed pretty well. Didn’t stand out to me in terms of any negative way. Didn’t look lost out there at all and ended up forcing the only turnover that the Saints defense was able to force in this matchup. And so I think all of that shows you that Quincy Riley is maybe not necessarily ready to go out there and start right away, but it’s certainly somebody that can contribute for this team and will continue to build his way to being a starter. And so as the Saints start to figure out how they want to function over in the defensive side and in particular a team that doesn’t yet have an interception that they force, right, they’re three games in without an interception and haven’t necessarily been close to getting them either. Looking at a guy that’s a little bit of a ball hawk like Quincy Riley makes a lot of sense. And so getting him out on the field, seeing the way that he performed, seeing that he can handle with composure the pressure of being put in and not having to do so. And I love that the Saints did this by building it into the game plan as opposed to waiting for him to have to go in in an emergency situation. And I love that they made that happen because that meant that he was ready and knew what it is that he needed to do, what was going to be expected of him, how to play, what his matchup was going to be, what the expectation was of him, all of that, instead of being thrown into an emergency situation and saying, “Well, here you go. Good luck with the Wolves out there, right?” And so, I thought Quincy Riley showed some good things. I’ll take a deeper dive into his tape and we’ll look at all of his snaps as a part of our film study this week. And so we’ll dive into all that um throughout the week, but good first impression for Quincy Riley, which is important as the Saints start to figure out what that defense looks like and what that personnel can look like for its future. And then I thought Spencer Rattler looked as well as one could in the situation that he was in in a situation where the team was so far behind that the Seattle defense was basically able to just play shell again, take away any explosive plays. It was again another condensed offense and a condensed game plan for New Orleans. But Spencer Rley did try to find ways to push the ball down the field. Uh threw uh 39 passes in this game and yet still completed over 70% of his passes. Had a 71.8% completion percentage. Uh did have an interception, was on fourth and four, so he actually helped them by throwing the interception in a weird way. But he was trying to direct traffic downfield and I was asking about what like what he was trying to do and he basically said like they need to work on their scramble drill over the course of the week. So, expect that to be something that they spend some time working on over the course of the practice week. Um, but threw for 218 yards, had a touchdown and an interception on that play where he was trying to direct traffic. Nothing really, nobody really moved in terms of the direction he was trying to get people to go. You can see him pointing infield, infield, infield, and nobody was cutting towards that area. And so, he just kind of lofted it up hoping that somebody would maybe have an opportunity to go out there and make a play. Instead, it ended up getting intercepted. That’s fine. You’ll take that. uh actually ended up being better than if it was a turnover on downs where they would have gotten the ball from the line of scrimmage, which is a little bit further downfield. It is what it is. Uh but for Spencer Rattler, I thought that he mostly did a good job. He had one play that could have been interception, but turned out to be defensive holding, which probably helped that defender get into position to get an interception. Had another one that should have been intercepted where he was trying to hit kind of this corner route to Chris Olive. didn’t get enough underneath it and a Seattle Seahawks defender was underneath and was able to kind of leap up and almost pick it off, but it ended up bouncing off his hands. Um, so he got away with that one for sure. But otherwise, I mean, look, for a guy that threw 46 passes his first game, 34 passes his second game, and now 39 passes in this third game, which was not the expectation for this team coming in. Um, that’s a lot of opportunities to put the ball in harm’s way. And he’s done a good job of mostly speaking keeping the ball out of those scenarios and out of those situations. That was also playing with a backup right tackle and a backup left guard because the Saints are still having trouble keeping their offensive line healthy. So, tough game for New Orleans all around, but some bright spots when it comes to Quincy Riley and Spencer Rattler. Two young players that could be a part of this team’s future. Coming up in tomorrow’s episode, we’re going to go by the numbers and I’ll give you a little bit of a deeper dive into what this performance looked like and what moves what it means moving forward for the New Orleans Saints. We appreciate you very much as always. Make it as a party day part of your routine for saying yes to me on the show. If you see me, please say hi. The New Orleans Saints’ 44-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks showcased their worst performance of the season. All three phases of the game faltered, with missed tackles, penalties, and special teams failures plaguing the team.

Accountability looms large as head coach Kellen Moore hints at potential lineup changes. Young players like Quincy Riley might see increased playing time. Despite the poor showing, rookie cornerback Riley forced a turnover in his defensive debut, while quarterback Spencer Rattler completed over 70% of his passes under pressure.

Looking ahead, the Saints face a daunting matchup as 16.5-point underdogs against the Buffalo Bills. Future analysis will focus on individual performances and potential rebuilding strategies.

  1. I think this spanking will end up being a blessing in disguise. Our team and coaches needed to know where they stand….and this game did it. Now its time to hit the reset button and develop a strategy for turning things around.

  2. No worries Buffalo is next . Saints had their chance to win a game first 2 games an couldn’t do it. Why? they don’t have a QB 5.8 passing yards not going to cut.. Please don’t say The HC needs to open up the playbook. A 41.6 QBR isn’t good enough , every Throw is behind his WR’. This Saints performance was as bad as I have seen since late 70’s early 80’s Let’s all Remember NOONE wanted the Saints HC job so don’t blame him players play and coaches coach .This is on Mickey Loomis he’s already traded 3 2026 Draft picks away.

  3. Quit blaming it all on rattler, hes not the "team", yes he may have not connected on every pass, but the defense didnt make every tackle, the kicker didnt make it every attempt, the play calling was trash, like why keep running the ball when they were couldnt move it…this was a true team lost

  4. Y'all don't understand what a rebuild is.. it's a multi-year thing… probably like 3 to 5 years…until we draft REAL WIDE RECEIVERS… DRAFT REAL LINEBACKERS… AND REAL SPEED/EDGE RUSHERS.. WE'RE GOING TO SUCK… IT'S TIME TO TRADE OLAVE…TRADE SPENCER…TRADE BOTH GUARDS…TRADE MCCOY…CUT GROUPE..TRADE TAYLOR…AND TRADE GRANDERSON…

  5. Everyone calling this a rebuild is stupid. If this truly was a rebuild, Loomis would have been fired, a real NFL head coach would have been hired, Olave would have been traded by now, Hill would have been cut after June 1st, Jordan and probably Davis would have been traded or cut post June 1st as well. Also, Kamara would have been traded for picks. That's just to start.

This is a team that isn't embrassing a full rebuild, and that starts with Gayle Benson. Her husband should have sold or made it mandatory to sell upon his death. Now you have a clueless owner, incompetent GM and no one that can really fix the team. Honestly the NFL in it's bylaws should have a means to replace such incompetence, but I don't think they really give a damn. It's only about the money for the owners. Nothing else.

  6. They didn’t convert that tush push. So if no penalty that would have been a turnover on your own 40. Would likely been the same outcome. Offense isn’t sustainable. They required a couple personal foul penalties to get them over the 50. The offense puts the defense in horrific spots.

  7. All these cry baby fans… Bro, our team is supposed to suck. Lol. This is going to take years to fix. We’re bad at every position on defense & have the worst offensive line in the NFL. What do you all expect a QB to do with an offensive line that has the most penalties in the NFL, gets beat 50% of downs, WR/TES leading the NFL in drops & a defense that is slow & can’t tackle at any position group. Special teams to mimic it.

  8. You what would be refreshing? Holding the QB accountable for not converting, not running the plays in structure, dropping his eyes to leave the pocket early and not placing the ball in harms way anytime he throws farther than 9 yards down the field. Thats the one thing the Saints media refuses to do and it’s frustrating.

  9. I was at this game and the biggest positive was the turn out in Seattle by Who Dat Nation. We were everywhere i looked. I was also impressed by how many stuck around to the bitter end like me. Best fans in the league…WHO DAT!

  10. I have watched the Saints since they were founded, and I have seen good teams, bad teams, good coaches and bad coaches but never anything like that game. The entire coaching staff should be fired, starting with Nugent. We knew the team was not good but not unprepared. That is inexcusable.

  11. This “Process” isn’t doing vey well . Moore looks like he’s in over his head ! Penalties show how undisciplined we are . Play calling is horrendous . Defense is non existent ! We’re not a good Organization and we haven’t been in a long time . I’ve been a Saints Fan since 1967 and I have seen us play bad . That performance yesterday ranks up there with the worst of the 60’s and 70’s ! We’re the Ain’ts again unfortunately !

  12. Ross truth of the matter: Respect can'tGuardMike, almost the whole team got MikeT bully balled by the Seahawks, that was a hard one to watch. Sean Payton / Drew Brees, that dawg spirit has left the team, it seems. Geaux Saints! Can't be soft in the NFL

  13. Great content. I think you are the only one that I’ve seen who covers the saints and mentioned that Spencer rattlers interception was on a 4th and 4 so it didn’t really matter. Shows that you are actually paying attention to the game unlike a lot of other casual fans out there that just spew BS on the internet and calling for us to throw in Shough or tank for Arch manning lol. Spencer rattler has not played great but is also definitely not the reason we are losing games. It’s obvious to me that out of the quarterbacks on our roster he is the one that puts us in the best position to win week in and week out. He’s done a great job of protecting the ball and not turning it over. Just wish he could be more accurate on some of his throws and better in the red zone. If he cleans that up, call me crazy but I think he could actually be a legit QB1

  14. It's not just the Saints that have Oline injuries, it's the entire NFL, I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't 1 team that had all there starters from week 1 in on there oline this weekend. It is what it is.

  15. At least we weren’t shut out 30-0, like our rivals. We need to try out some kickers. Grupe is tripping hard. Let’s get that number one pick, guys!!! I watched the whole game. Rattler was efficient but not explosive. The offensive line was horrible, poor running game, special teams play, no big plays off the pass and defensively we were horrible!!! Double digit penalties and it’s just bad coaching. He’s saying we have the right guys out there. That’s the problem right there. Guys are comfortable. Trade Olave for picks. We need to get bigger with that position. He’s a good receiver but he’s going to command money and I don’t want to pay a number 2 receiver number one wide receiver money. Alonte Taylor may need to move to strong safety. He’s not a cornerback. He’s fast but he’s always out of position. Kool aid is a number two cornerback, not a number one, in my opinion.

  16. Mann Ross quit tryna take up for them I love the saints too but they flat out suck bruhh all them I mean all them not 1 but all but that’s my team we goin to get right soon

  17. was it just me, or did it seem like Seattle beat on our players like it was personal? they werent just tackling. I literally lost count of how many times they body slammed one of our players. they were trying to injure anybody wearing white and Gold

  18. When are they going to cut Grupe. In the first two weeks if he makes those field goals, the saints don't have to try for a touchdown at the end of the game. They can just go for field goals. Then in week two he doesn't make it in the landing zone. First time I've seen that i guess in a year and 2 weeks since they started that new kickoff style He needs to be replaced.

  19. Ross will you be at the game Sunday? I will be sitting on the visitor side section 109 row 37. I am glad the NFL made sure to schedule the game as fair as possible. Giving the Bills a few extra days off to prepare 😊

  20. I can't see how getting rid of JT Grey was a good idea. How can he, not help teach young players get into position?
I am taking the season in quarters. I hope Moore starts to penalize players, for stupid penalties, starting in weeks 5, 6 etc. Just play hard for 4 quarters, and don't beat yourself. That's all I want from the team, this season.

  21. I’ve been a life long saints fan. I’ve been through it, I’ve dealt with Katrina and all of those things. I’ll be a saints fan forever. After the game I had issues processing this, I listen to a few people and I don’t expect something, someone says to help me. This entire episode helped me, I really appreciate it Ross. You’re doing incredible work. I’m an every dayer, as to take from Jake from locked on pelicans.

  22. Ross and the rest of the Saints beat writers won’t tell you the truth so I will.

The Rattler Truth watch week 3:
    PFF passer grade: 42.3
    Turn over worth plays: 5
    Big Time throws: 0
    Drops: 1
    1 of 5 plays over 20 yards
    4 of 7 plays 10-19 yards
    15-17 plays 0-9 yards
8-8 plays behind line of scrimmage

    Kept clean 62.8%
    Pressured 37.2%

All advanced states available on PFF. feel free to go check my facts posted here.

We deserve better Saints beat writers. Demand better.

  23. I think buffalo puts up 60-70 points on the Saints Sunday. The Saints worse loss was to the Falcons in 1973. I believe that record will be broken at some point this year, perhaps on Sunday.

  24. You know what? I’m not going to lie. Yeah, they’re 0-3 , they got stomped true but, we need this. 1, they are seeing their issues early that’s better than seeing it late in the season. 2, how many first time head coaches went 0-3 or worse? 3, I have no problem with 0-3 because I understand what Kelly Moore is trying to do. He is creating his own culture just like Sean Payton did. I have no doubt about Kellen Moore fixing this team from bottom to top . Let him cook.
