Dallas has a ‘DUMBSDAY DEFENSE’ – Rex Ryan + Caleb Williams stepped up I Get Up

Now on a Monday, let’s go. The regular crew, the regular crowd has shuffled in at 8:00 on a Monday. We are yesterday might have been as good a Sunday as you could possibly get in the NFL. Let’s waste no time. Let’s go to the Soldier Field right on the banks of Lake Michigan. Caleb and the Bears, Dak and the Cowboys pick this up in the first quarter. Dan, my question is where is the defense? Somewhere to be seen. Trayvon Diggs goes at the line of scrimmage to try and jam Romo Dunay. He misses slips. Caleb sees him down the field. Blown coverage by the Cowboys again. Easy touchdown. Now we’re going the other way. This a critical moment here. CD Lamb Chef knew we’re going to see the left ankle get rolled up on. It looked bad. Greeny MRI today. He’ll probably be weak to weak. He said he thinks he could play next week. I don’t know if he realizes the swelling and pain and discomfort that’s going to come along with it. We’ll have more on that as we go. And then the Bears. Danny, here comes the trick play. This flea flicker felt like that ball was thrown a mile. It’s 65 plus in the air. A play call right after their previous touchdown. Ben Johnson’s comes out unbelievably aggressive versus this Cowboys defense. Huge lead early on. 14-3 after one. One might say, what defense? Then there’s Dak Prescott. George Pickkins one hand grab. Cowboys go for the two and get it. We got a good game. 14 all right. Wrong. Under a minute left in the half. Bears up 1714. And it’s Caleb again. Yeah, one of the highlights of the season so far for Caleb Williams. Just thrown perfectly over those second level defenders right in front of those safeties. And then this two-minute drill to end. Little ball fake peaks to backside safety. Touchdown to Love Lovelin. Rex, where is the coverage on Cole Kat on that play? I I I think Dallas thought they were playing a home game instead of being in Chicago. Brutal. 14 minutes left in the fourth. Bears up 17. If it was still a game, it wasn’t anymore after this snap. George Pickkins has it go right through his hands. Ball is picked off. Critical drop there as we’re early in the fourth quarter and the frustration starts to mount for the Cowboys on a bad day for Jerry and company. George Pickkins frustrated on the sideline. Final score 314. Ben Johnson’s Bears get their first win, his first win. Yes, Caleb was playing the Cowboys defense, but he certainly showed you flashes yesterday of why he was the number one pick. career-high passer rating, careerhigh yards per attempt. Most importantly, not sacked in a game for the first time in his career. And after it was over, the Bears locker room was hyped. I got one more. I got one more. My bad. My bad. It’s boss man’s first home victory. First win. You know what I got? You know what I got? Repeat after me now. Do better. Never let it rain. Never let it get better. Any better gets better. Bears on three. 1 2 3. So needless to say, they’re excited in Chicago. And well, they should be. Dwood, what did you see from Caleb Williams and that Chicago offense yesterday that we had not seen certainly this year and maybe only in tiny glimpses before? Well, I mean, listen, when you’re playing this this Dallas Cowboys defense, man, it’s going to be easy to kind of regain your confidence. I thought he was fantastic and and Dan guy knows a lot of videos to speak to that. But Granny, I want to go to what I really felt about this this game and about the Chicago Bears. Yeah. that drive to open up the third quarter, that 19 play drive where they ran 11 straight times, running the ball 11 straight times, they don’t have any respect for the coach or the players on that side of the ball. Rex, you and I know this. When you able to literally run down the opposition’s throat the way the Chicago Bears did to the Dallas Cowboys, it’s embarrassing. And if you’re the Dallas Cowboy this morning, you should feel embarrassed by the way in which the Chicago Bears chose the play selection in which they chose to come at you. Okay? You showed no gumption. You showed no heart. And listen, kudos Chicago Bears. They made a statement. This is what how we’re going to play football led by Caleb Bears and their whole offense. And this wasn’t where I meant to start, but since you’re there, it’s a good point because yesterday was the Eberlu revenge game. remember therefore the Bears former head coach Matt Iblouse is coordinating that defense and we wondered if they would make a stand sort of allah the old doomsday defense. Yeah, that doomsday defense man that used to be there with Bob Lily and company and for years Dallas all that pride in that defense and what did I saddle him with uh the day before the game? Dumsay defense that this what you’re seeing right here. The dumsay. How about dumbay? How about you stay on top of a a vertical threat like Roma Doomsday? I don’t know. Uh, flee flicker. You only do this against teams that have no discipline. Why? Cuz we’re going to air air it over your head about 20 yards down the field past you. This is a dumb state defense. And by the way, it’s a soft state defense, too. I know it doesn’t rhyme with D, but I don’t care. It’s dog stuff. You know that. This defense is an absolute joke. Now look, that doesn’t take anything away from Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams, their performance offensively because they, this kid is going to be the real deal. I’m telling you, they got the real coach and everything else. But you know who doesn’t? The one they wanted to give the game ball uh to. Remember, they were all we just want to give the game ball to Eberloose. What did I say? I said Chicago will give the game ball to Eber Flu. That’s what the hell’s going to happen. That defense stinks. Zero sacks, zero picks. Caleb Williams did what he wanted. The Dallas Cowboy defense did absolutely nothing. And guess what? Sunday night, they get to see their old friend Micah Parsons with the Green Bay Packers. And again, we don’t know if they’ll have CD Lamb or not. So, I’ve managed to go through all of this to deflate or at least to sort of Caleb Williams played great. And that’s your point over here as well. The Cowboys, two things can be true at the same time. The Cowboys defense can be absolutely embarrassingly bad, which they were yesterday. And Caleb Williams can look like he took a major step forward at the same time. Yeah, it’s the most professional game that I’ve seen Caleb Williams have. And the way I categorize it is calm feet, aggressive mind, and that’s the growth in this Ben Johnson offense that we’ve seen. The play action game was a tremendous success. And Granny, your point of no mistakes on your end, but hurt the mistakes of the defense. And I think when you watch that tape and you see how fast he was seeing it from a defense what they’re doing perspective but not playing hurried physically like this throw with one two hitches ball goes over the second level of the defense. We didn’t see this version of Caleb Williams and that’s what I’m talking about when I say comfy. I don’t want to see your feet all over the place but aggressive mind meaning you’re not trying to play in a reserved or cautious nature. That’s the best game that we’ve seen. This is cuz this wasn’t about the physical wow of Caleb Williams. This is was about the operation of Caleb Williams. This is about the rhythm of Caleb Williams. This was about was about the timing of Caleb Williams. This was the version that everyone has been going, can you play professional quarterback in the NFL that way? That’s what that’s the version we got. And can you do it consistently? Because there have been flashes of this. We saw it on Thanksgiving Day last year in Detroit. It’s about him stringing these games together. He was clean yesterday and now he’s got to be consistent. No roller coaster yesterday. And I again the emphasis of when the defense made a mistake, he made them pay and then he never made the mistake on his end. See, I I I think I I think people assume that this kid’s just going to be, you know, great from jump and all that. Look, he has the tools to be great from jump, but the man’s never been underneath center. Like now it takes time. And that’s what you’re going to see. Slow development through through the year. He’s just going to get better and better and better. And why Ben Johnson’s amazing as a coach, a a phenomenal play caller. All right. But he also knows that, hey, look, this is where we got to get to and they’re going to. Now, look, I I mean, as good as he played and all that, the other side, I don’t think it could have got worse than what we saw against the uh against the Giants when they actually won that game somehow. All right. But it did. And to your point, Dwood, when a team runs the ball 11 straight times at you, 11 straight times in a 19 play drive, by the way, which I I we we’d have to play three series of defense to play 19 freaking plays. Like, this is unbelievable. Look, ground and pound. Ground and pound. Here’s the great thing. They don’t even have a ground and pound back right now. Just wait. Look how, you know, all these creative runs and off. No respect for you, D. what you called it. No respect. We’re just going to pummele you. Why? Cuz it this is the lowest point I’ve ever seen a Dallas defense. There’s been some horrible wins last year with Zimmer the other time. I mean, they couldn’t they couldn’t stop a nose bleed. This is worse. Yeah, this is worse cuz you got punked on one drive. You got punked 11 straight runs. 19 play 9 minute and 54 second drive to open the third quarter that featured at one stretch 11 consecutive runs. Cindy, let’s show them 820. The Cowboy defense is embarrassing. They’ve allowed 13 completions in three games of 25 yards or more. Overall, they’ve allowed 92 points in three games, as you see where that compares disfavorably in the history of the franchise. In none of the other seasons you see on the screen did they make the playoffs. But one very prevalent Cowboys fan thinks this team can still make it to January. Is this a playoff caliber team? What? Cowboys. Yes. I am going to tell you. Yes. Yes. Uh and it’s because you saw number four out there today and uh you saw what uh I think we’re capable of doing in the running game or that type deal. So yes, I pull it there. Now we’ve got to as we abide toward the playoffs, we’ve got to uh get better defensively. Certain. He has no idea about what it’s going to take to play playoff contending football. get better defensively. Your defense is awful in zone coverage. You have blown more coverages in three weeks than I watched teams do all last year. And your offense was predicated upon CD Lamb. Once CD Lamb went out, you guys didn’t drop a bucket. This defense stinks. Playoff football team. I’ll give them that they’ll be in games because Dak and the offense. What I I I I really think to Jerry Jones though, he’s looking at it this way. He’s right on one side of the ball, right? Offensively, Brian Shanheimimer, that offense, they can run the ball for the first time in years. All right. So, I like that. That is playoff ready. Okay. That offense in my opinion with Dak when CD’s healthy. CD’s got to be healthy. Pickkins and then the running game. I like that. Javvante Williams. Yeah. So, I see it. But you’re assuming that this defense can be fixed. Not in the current state. It can’t be fixed cuz number one, you can get no no uh no pass rush whatsoever. You throw it every down against this defense. Well, but you can run it every down. So that’s the dilemma you have as an offensive coach. Do I want to run it? Do I want to throw it? Oh my god, it’s a delay a game penalty cuz I’m like I can run any damn thing I want. Like that’s the issue right now. They have some playmakers there. They got to raise it. I thought we got Kenny Clark to stop the run. Yeah. What happened to that? Dwood, you look like you have a final word for me. Go ahead. Why are we even Why is Why are you even talking about the playoffs right now? Yeah, you have so many issues going on. The ne like we got to worry about trying to fix our defense for the next game. The playoffs are so far off and I know Jerry Jones is is that type of guy. Doesn’t even make sense. Weren’t for Brandon Arby, they’d be 0 and three. That I was literally just going to We think exactly the same way. [Music]

  1. The bears offense is 9th in the nfl in points and 10th in yards we have not been bad this year offensively kind of going against historical data its our defense that has been bad this year just allowing more points than we are scoring

  2. Caleb is progressing. That's all. There will still be bumps and bruises but I just want progression. He'll get there. We have the GM, Headcoach, Caleb, Rome, DJ , Burden, Loveland and Kmet all under contract and in the same offense for the next 4 years. Patience.

  3. Idk if anyone here still doesn't believe in karma but the way Dallas defense plays has to be Jerry Joneses karma I won't except any other explanation 😂😂😂

  4. Schoddy needs to run more receivers out of the backfield when our running back is averaging 7 yards per carry. 'Bad News Boys' are fertilizing 💩 every field they step on👀

  5. The Bears cornerback unit is messed up i believe 4 guys were out so whats about Dak and his good offense….Da Bears brought that belt out yesterday!! 🐻⬇️

  6. They could’ve had Rex coach them last year and passed… that’s what they do they pass on greatness and try to relive the cowboys hay days…. Delusional team and fan base

  7. Bears hype for beating that trash defense. Both the coach and DC are trash.Dak is trash just like defense. Now with 3 players out with anke injury for weeks. Cowboys just need start over draft qb in first round haven't drafted qb in first round since 89.
