Steelers Could Trade Three Players
[Music] What is up, Steelers nation? Thank you so much for dropping on to another episode of All Steelers Talk. I’m No Strike Pine, joined always by my main man Jacob Penturi. Find us on youtube.com/allsteelersalker. Subscribe anywhere you get your podcast. The Pittsburgh Steelers. We are 24ish hours away from the Black and Gold finalizing their 53man roster. There is plenty to dive into. We will go through some surprises and everything throughout the week before 400 p.m. on Tuesday. But for right now, it’s about trades because the Pittsburgh Steelers got a couple of names that they can go out and say, “Hey, we’re getting rid of this guy. We’re getting rid of that guy. And we’re getting rid of this guy as well.” Meanwhile, well, we are dangerously close to the Pittsburgh Steelers locking into their 53man roster, and we are also dangerously close to that, meaning the end of a wide receiver search. We’ll dive into that as well. It’s a good one here in the Berg. It was a good weekend. It was fun to get to good old UPMC Rooney Sports Complex for a couple of days. We’ll go back today. Tomorrow, the players will be off and then, well, everything changes from there. Jacob, how you feeling, my friend? Good. you know, this is the calm before the storm. This is the, you know, take these final moments in and just sort of appreciate that calm because it is going to be an absolute whirlwind uh once these roster moves start happening all across the NFL. There’s going to be stuff probably already happening while we’re recording this and then the chaos and pandemonium just continues from there. I’m drinking it all in. I’m very excited for what’s to come. I’m very nervous for these players who are, you know, probably waiting with baited breath for whether they have a a job or whether they have to search for a new one. So, it’s an exciting time, but man, I got to say I I said this before, but I feel kind of like a kid on Christmas because this is just such an exciting time for the NFL and for the Pittsburgh Steelers in particular. So, what else can I be but excited? I agree. I agree. I think excitement is definitely the word. Anxious describes a lot of things. Uh it is the yearly reminder that I think like 180 people tomorrow lose their jobs or something which stinks. You never want that to happen. But at the same time it is the most competitive business in maybe the world. You know there are 53 guys. It’s like.1% of high school athletes ever make it to the NFL which is absolutely ins I watched a kid today. He plays from Keysport take the most wild touchdown I’ve ever seen in my life. He’s a five-star running back recruit out of Mckisport, uh, Pennsylvania. Yeah, he scored five touchdowns in a game. At one point, he literally jked out all 11 players on the defense. And my thought was, that guy has so much to do before he is an NFL athlete. It is insane. And that is a a good reminder for what tomorrow is, but at the same time, a lot of moves and a lot of excitement. And I am very excited to dive into it. A little schedule update as we move forward. We’re still trying to finalize some things, but we think we got a grip on what’s to come and what’s going on. Uh we will continue the morning podcast. For those of you who have been wondering, this is going to be the schedule. I’ll post it on the community post as well. We’ll go live after games or the morning after games. So, Mondays uh at 9:00 p.m. The rest of the week, the podcast will be pre-recorded, released at 7 a.m. as always. Then we will be going live as well Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons for what we like to call a little happy hour that we are very excited to bring to the picnic pack. And with that said, let’s talk some Pittsburgh Steelers football. I was standing right next to good old Mark Kaboom Kaboli yesterday or two days ago and I looked at him and I said, “Yo, dude, how does it feel that uh Mason Rudolph isn’t going to be quarterback too for the Pittsburgh Steelers because of you have not followed Mark Kaboli over the years? Big Mason Rudolph guy.” Well, he doubled down on what he said on the fan is that that is nonsense and it is not going to happen and that we should stop talking about it. He got pretty protective over his boy Mason Rudolph here. And I’ll say this, I don’t think Skyler Thompson surpasses Mason Rudolph. I I really really don’t. I think there is a strong possibility that he ends up as the quarterback three over Will Howard who spends the year on IR. But I also think that yesterday the Las Vegas Raiders got some news that Aiden Okonnell is set to miss about half the season. And there may not be a hotter name on the quarterback market than the one in Pittsburgh who isn’t going to be the backup. He’s going to be the third string. And the Steelers have a third string waiting in line that they wanted to surpass him before the summer even started. So, I’ll ask you a very straightforward question to kick this one off. Should the Pittsburgh Steelers call the Las Vegas Raiders and say, “We got a quarterback for you. You want Skyler Thompson? We’ll send him your way today?” Yep. Absolutely. They should. And I would be shocked, absolutely shocked if Omar Khan hasn’t already, you know, put out his feelers about this. I where that led to who who knows? You know, the the Las Vegas Raiders might not care at all. You know, they might not see it as a pressing concern to have a reliable number two behind Gino Smith. We don’t really know what’s going on in their front office as far as we know over here in the Pittsburgh side of things. But I think the Steelers, you know, they have I agree with you that they have this very maybe for the first time ever a tradable backup quarterback asset that’s not Mason Rudolph. Keeps him protected and keeps Marabully happy, which is frankly my priority in all of this. Agreed. But I think they have to make that conversation. And I think really the door has opened because there’s a few situations around the NFL where backup quarterback is something to monitor where you know there’s 24 hoursish 27ish hours until those rosters are locked in for the NFL. And I think you got to be hammering the phone line trying to figure out if there’s anyone that is a willing, you know, trade partner here for Skyler Thompson. The Raiders top the list, sure. I’m just not sure if um if I feel like that’s like the best fit or like the best uh not best fit, most likely scenario of this trade hypothetical that we’re diving into. I think I lost myself there for a second, but we’re back. I agree with you. I uh I think it’s I laugh at you saying that um Mason Rudolph was a couple of years ago considered like this big, oh, everybody should go get Mason Rudolph. He’s not going to get a job over Kenny Picket and Mitch Trabzky trade asset. Skyler Thompson has a more likely advantage to be traded instead of him, I get it, different times, but like it’s just another example that the NFL somehow was always Mason Rudolph may go down as the most surpassed quarterback in NFL history. Just the guy that was just kicked in the crotch every chance the NFL gave him. And I I think it’s wild, but I agree with you. And look at the Raiders aren’t sitting around going, “We don’t need a backup. We’re fine. It’s no big deal.” Are there names out there? For sure. But Carson Wentz goes off the board yesterday. And I think you’re looking at a lot of it going, Skyler Thompson’s a guy who’s a he’s a one touchdown game away from winning a playoff game. That’s a guy that you could look at and say, I want him as a backup. I want him to support my quarterback. I want him as a a spot start candidate, which is all a backup quarterback is. Can you go win five games? If you have to go win five games, can you pull that off? And Skyler Thompson, I think, has the capabilities of doing that. I think on the same side of that, the Pittsburgh Steelers have to be pushing for this guy to get traded. They have to. You can’t sit around and say, “You want to know what we want? Will Howard to spend the year on IR?” No. Right now, that’s the best option, right? Because Skyler Thompson is a a guy that if it needs to be that that way, if the Steelers somehow find themselves where Aaron goes down, Mason goes down, or Mason isn’t good enough, Skyler Thompson’s a much better option to toss out there in 2025. I’m not saying beyond, but in 2025 than a rookie Will Howard who did not play in the preseason. That’s a significantly better option to put on the field. And the Steelers know that. And even if Skyler Thompson’s that guy, like look it, my first season covering this team was Duck Hodes. And the Steelers made a wild trade for this guy named Ma Fitzpatrick. And you want to know why they made that wild trade for Ma Fitzpatrick? Because in their sick, twisted minds, they thought they were still Super Bowl contenders as long as they could fix the defense. With Duck freaking Hodgeges as their quarterback. They would feel the same way. They would look at it and go, TJ Cam and Jaylen Jaylen Ramsey, they could win us a Super Bowl. We don’t need an offense. We don’t need to score points. Skyler Thompson could do what he needs to do. And are they correct? Not even close. But they will have that mindset. And I think because of that, it makes it very difficult to say Will’s our number three right now. Skyler will be our number three. You could trade them. I mean, it solves a a two kills two birds with one stone. What are you getting for a Skyler Thompson? Seventh round pick at most, right? At most. Or if you’re getting a sixth, you’re probably sending a conditional seventh like as well. Or if you’re getting a fifth in return, like you’re sending some some other seventh round pick or last uh last round last round or two pick back uh to make this trade happen. I wonder if there’s other, you know, and why I I kind of shy away from the Raiders is I wonder if like the the New Orleans Saints or like, you know, um there’s another team out there right now. I have a note here. uh need a quarterback like in general need a backup quarterback. Um the Saints need two quarterbacks starter and a backup. Correct. But they, you know, I wonder I’ve seen some stuff about former Steelers legend Kenny Picket having, you know, some trade options, some trade links to Kell Moore over in New Orleans. I wonder if the Steelers could, you know, work the again, I wonder if Omar Khan can sort of work his way in there and try to facilitate a deal a little bit quicker. Um, I wonder if something like like the LA Rams or something like that who play a sort of more fast-paced offense, like if they would see Skyler Thompson as someone who could be that spot starter uh in the backup role, like something like that. I I would love to see the Steelers make happen as well, cuz then I think you could maybe just get a sixth round pick or a seventh round pick straight up for Skyler Thompson in return. Yeah, that would be incredible. Again, you’re talking about a guy who was brought in here as the fourth option. Even when they had not drafted Will Howard at that point, they knew like he was brought in to be a camp body and he has really risen up the the depth chart. Even to number three is an impressive run. I think you have to maximize it because there’s a so little chance that he will actually contribute to the Steelers roster in 2025. Get a pick for him, get an asset in return. Huge ROI for the Steelers on Skyler Thompson. I would I would be I think it’s worth it, you know. I think it’s worth doing that. I agree. I agree. It’s crazy that a seventh round pick is a massive ROI on a quarterback. That is just is where the Pittsburgh Steelers are. I got three other names that I think the Steelers should trade here. Um Demarvin Leal is one of them for sure. I I mean, I look at Demarvin Le and say he has no spot on the Pittsburgh Steelers defense. He’s the odd man out of the outside linebacker room. They’re just there’s just no place for him. You know, TJ Watt and Alex Heismith, they’re going to start. Nick Herbig’s your backup. And Jack Sawyer is a guy that’s a fourth round pick who the Steelers have already fallen in love with. And even if he’s got some I I think Jack Sawyer’s got a lot of development left. I think somehow he’s got to get faster. I don’t think he’s very fast. I think it’s coming to bite him in the butt early in his NFL career. But if he could figure that out, which I’ve seen guys figure that out. Go watch Ben Scoranic in college, man. He is the slowest human being on a football field. He’s not that slow. Now, I’m not saying he’s Calvin Austin, but he’s certainly not. He used to like it was like watching a tight end, dude. Like a slow, fat tight end jog down the field. That’s what it was. Um, you could you could build off of it. He’s the fourth. De Marvin Leo doesn’t have a place. He doesn’t fit in this defense. He hasn’t fit in this defense. And I think personally, I think somebody out there is going to look at it and say, “Damarvin Leo’s a former third round pick.” And you know, maybe we just give up a sixth or a fifth round pick for him, but he’s got enough trade, enough upside here in his young NFL career to say we get him for one very cheap year on his rookie deal and then we can figure out the rest there and let’s put him in a defense that he works in because he’s not a three four outside linebacker. He’s a 43 defensive end and he should be utilized as one and he was never utilized as one. He’s the first one for me. Corus Weightman’s the other because Cameron Johnston won that that punter battle. The the moment that Corus Weightman hit the 40 yard punt. That was the that was it. That was the defining moment of like the Steelers been waiting for this one all preseason. They just needed one bad punt to have an excuse as to why they are moving on from Corus Weightman. He’s cheaper. I think he had a real opportunity to pull this thing off because he’s cheaper. But he’s also valuable. He’s 30 years old. Teams are looking for punters. are always looking for punters. I think you could get, to be honest with you, I bet you you could get a a higher pick on Corus Weightman than you can to Marvin Lee or Skyler Thompson. And then my third one is a name that everybody hates every time I bring it up, but at this point the the writing on the wall is there. It’s very clear to see Beanie Bishop is not going to make this team. He is not a candidate. TA said very clearly that Beanie needs a massive third preseason game to find himself on the 53man roster. And then Beanie Bishop suffered an injury the day before the final preseason game. And while he’s not an injury reserve candidate, he’s still working himself back. He’s got no opportunity or had no opportunity from the moment TA said that until right now to say, “I’m worth a roster spot. Give me that last chance. The Steelers don’t have room for him. They haven’t had room for him all summer. You slowly watched his role decline to almost nothing. He’s going to get released either way. Maybe he’s a practice squad guy, but I think they’d be very comfortable with Dante Kent being their practice squad guy. I think you could get a fifth or sixth round pick for Beanie Bishop and feel pretty good about it. And I would imagine there’s somebody out there who watched him come up with five interceptions last season saying, “Yeah, we should probably trade for Beanie Bishop. We should probably take a shot on this one.” I don’t know who it’s going to be, but I would imagine he uh has some value. Those are my three. And I think they’re all easy traits to be honest. I think the Steelers can pull all them off within the next 24 hours, and I would advise them to do so because, you know, why wouldn’t you instead of just wet letting them walk? Dear Marvin Lee Albini and Coralus Weightman are my three. Uh do you agree? Do you have others? What’s your thoughts? Wow, that is I I think what I bits and pieces I certainly agree with. Um I I think Corass Weman is an attractive trade candidate. Uh I think he is easily the of those three additional ones the most attractive trade candidate. Um for the same reasons you mentioned, special teams are always prioritized. He has experience with other NFL organizations as well. Wouldn’t be surprised if another team wants to to pick him up. I have been one of those people pounding the pavement with you that I did not see Beanie Bishop on this team. And you said they don’t have space for him. I have viewed it as they don’t want to make space for him on the 53man roster. They would much rather make space for Cory Trice Jr. They would much rather make space and give a longer runway to a Brandon Eckles to let him fully develop into that inside nickel slot role as he’s been, you know, someone who’s played more on the outside in his career, but they’re willing to make that gamble on him rather than going back to the well with their five interception sec uh secondyear undrafted free agent quarterback. Agreed. I think a lot of teams are hoping that he can just uh be acquired by picking him up when he’s released. I don’t I think the Steelers would obviously love to maximize the return on him because I again don’t see him making the 53man roster and I do see them valuing Dante Kent more on the practice squad than having Beanie Bishop there if that’s the choice, one or the other. I just don’t really see a trademark for Beanie Bishop right now. And I similarly don’t really see a trademark for DeMarvin Liao. I think there is intrigue for sure. I just I struggle with I struggle with again identifying the market for a player like that. I think to your favor, to your argument, there have been a flurry of moves of, you know, defensive linemen, defensive ends going, you know, every which way over the past couple of days throughout the NFL. So, if another team sees him as someone who could fill a defensive end need, then yeah, I wouldn’t be, you know, I think you might be right. I think most NFL teams, if they have done any sort of due diligence on him, have seen that yes, he is probably a defensive end in the mold, but he is a mostly positionless player. Uh, I agree. I agree. And I think Oh, Julie, is my feed? You’re still here. I hear you. Great. while I figure that out. The only other thing I will add on to that too, oh, there it is. Um, we’re back is I think that the fact that the Steelers have tried to transition him, you know, to move him around to make him fit into the system and he has still wound up sort of positionless. Like he can show some signs at outside linebacker. He’s shown some ability to get to the quarterback, but he hasn’t shown like the ability to cover or anything like that. He hasn’t shown the ability to really be someone who finishes plays if he starts that pressure on the quarterback. So, I just I I struggle to see the trademark for he and Beanie Bishop. I’d love to be wrong. Again, I love the idea of the Steelers just like adding on to their already huge stockpile of draft picks for the 2026 draft, but you know, of those of those three players, Corless is the only one that I think has the the best chance of actually getting traded in the next 24 to, you know, 30 hours or whatever time frame it is. Dude, a third string quarterback and a punter, a backup punter. Those are the trades the Pittsburgh Steelers have coming into this. That’s wild to me. That is wild to me. But I don’t I mean, I don’t disagree. I think every team That’s the thing I think a lot of people overlook constantly is that every team thinks they have a Beanie Bishop. You know what I mean? Every team’s like, “Oh yeah, dude. We got a beanie, man. We have this this second year, this undrafted guy that’s an absolute stud who looks like a game changer on the defense or on the offense. Everybody’s got that guy, you know what I mean? All 32 teams. Demarvin Leal is a guy that I I think you’re pushing for what could have been and hopefully guys will see that. Hopefully some team somewhere is going, you know, and this happens like I remember Isaiah Bugs was a guy that didn’t do much in Pittsburgh. Yeah. And then left Pittsburgh and and you know, for a small stunt there, became a starter in Detroit. And you’re going, you know, that’s not he’s capable of doing some stuff. He’s capable of playing out there and you see these guys constantly be able to do that and I I think that Lia like Lia’s going to get another shot in the NFL somewhere. You know, he’s his journey’s not done. I think Beanie might end up on a practice squad if it’s not Pittsburgh’s. Um and I’m not guaranteeing that he ends up on a regular season roster. Corus Wayman’s going to be a starting punter somewhere. I mean, maybe not week one, but by week three or four this somebody’s going to be like, “Yeah, dude. How we’re missing on this guy, I have zero idea.” Um, I I think you’re banking on Lial and somebody going, “Let’s just get them before we have to claim them.” Then, you know, we have 15 seventh round picks because I don’t know what that team is, but there’s got to be a team out there that just says like, “Oh, we also have 13 picks in 2025 or 2026. We could give up something. We’re okay to go get this guy and he helps us right now.” Again, does he? I don’t know. But trades happen and they they happen constantly. I think I might be overshooting the price, but you know, could it happen? Yeah, for sure. For sure. On the other side of this wide receiver, we’ve talked endlessly all summer long about where the Pittsburgh Steelers go, how they figure it out, where what happens. We are coming dangerously close to I don’t want to say a finish line, but a you know, that last lap around the track, we’re playing Mario Kart and that bing three out of three just popped up. Here we are. The Steelers don’t have anybody. Scotty Miller looks like he’s making the roster. If you had to guess the guys that are on the team right now, it’s DK Metaf, Calvin Austin, Roman Wilson, Scotty, Ben Scoranic, and I guess maybe other. Maybe other, but I don’t really know where we’re at today. I mean, you came into the summer maybe the only one in the world. You know, it might have just been you saying the Steelers aren’t going to add somebody. Since then, they’ve tried. They’ve definitely tried, but Gabe Davis has his medical concerns. Terry McLuren wants to be a wide receiver one, which, you know, I’ve heard some interesting things on the Terry McLaren front in the last couple of days. I’m not going to lie to you. It’s not the Steelers are pushing for him. It’s that the Steelers are willing to hand Terry McLuren as much money as Terry McLuren wants. It’s not that. It’s the fact that they’re not willing to tell Terry McLuren he’s wide receiver one over DK Mechaf. I’m not saying he would or wouldn’t be. I’m just saying that caused some issues. Ended the conversation there. Chris Lave is injured. Romeo Dobs is injured. Um Alan Lazard is injured. All these names that we have brought to the to the attention of of the Pittsburgh Steelers and their fan base over the last couple of months. Here we are. The room does not look like we expected it to look. Looks a little bit different and is missing a piece that I thought we we both thought at some points were going to be there. Do you think that changes? Do you think in the next, you could say 24 hours, but I’d give it about a week. Do you think in the next week the Pittsburgh Steelers change that or do you think here we are, this is the group and here’s the five. Go get it, Aaron. Oh man, I this I I think we are not going I think we are going to be very disappointed by the lack of transactions here regarding a wide receiver. I I don’t say this is someone just trying to hammer home the same point or trying to only argue my hypothesis without trying to take in all of the other information and data that’s surrounding here. Like trying to scan the entire NFL right now, you ran through a long list of players who are injured. The list you didn’t even mention is longer. The players who are just returning to health, yes, is questionable. Who would then make other players expendable? So you have all of these teams who we were kind of banking on or the Steelers were banking on having a fully healthy roster which would then make players X, Y, and Z up for trade. Then the Steelers would pounce on it to fill the number two role. Those opportunities have all but evaporated and disappeared because of injuries and all these other circumstances across the NFL. The Gabe Davis thing is so strange to me. Like he has not signed in Buffalo. He has not signed in Pittsburgh. Like he still doesn’t seem like the fit. There’s all these information, all these things around that tells me the Steelers are trying with all of their might to add to this wide receiving room without success. Yes. And I just think that they are going to continue over the next 24 hours, over the next five, six, seven days, whatever you want to call it. They’re going to try with all their might. I want to be wrong in this statement that I’m going to say next, but I just don’t think they’re going to add a wide receiver, too. I wouldn’t be surprised if another wide receiver comes into the room if someone of the, you know, of the Amari Cooper ilk or something like that just because it’s going to be a name that fills out the room. It fills the blank space of other, but it will not be a wide receiver too that you feel confident in, that I feel confident in, that the picnic pack feels confident in. It just I’m just so confident about that and I want to be wrong, but it just does. I don’t know where it’s going to happen and where it’s coming from. I I I don’t disagree. I I was gonna toss Odell out there as like the is he the name that’s gonna end up in Pittsburgh, but I think that’s where we’re at is like who is the next who is their replacement for Robert Woods that looks like Robert Woods. That’s where we’re at. That’s that’s exactly where we’re at. Who can be the other Robert Woods? The guy that All right, we saw Robert. He didn’t really do what we expected him to do. He fell down the depth chart. It was ready to be over with. How do we replace him with somebody that essentially is Robert Woods 2.0, but at the same time is, you know, probably not as good as the Steelers need him to be at all. It’s just another Robert Woods. Um, I would guess Amari is still on the outside looking in, but I I’m not I It’s crazy to think Odell is there, man. It’s crazy to think that Odell is like a name to watch right now. And that is, you know, it turns the stomach a little bit, makes you feel not so great about where you’re at, where the Pittsburgh Steelers are, but that’s where they’re at. That’s the name that that you’re looking at, unless it’s something a little bit shocking. And to be honest with you, if I’m the Steelers right now, I’m I’m reverting back to what I have pushed against all summer long, and that is call Tampa Bay about Trey Palmer. Call whoever about your fourth string wide receiver. Call all these guys about the 22 and the 23 year olds that aren’t panning out on these other teams and see what you could get. Go find the next Sky Moore who’s available for trade somewhere. Go get those guys. You know what I mean? Go take a shot on one of the 15 not so great New England Patriots wide receivers. Call New Call Kansas City about Juju. You know what I mean? Call Kansas City about Juju Smith. Just in my head, take a risk on something that is not great, but it’s better than what you have currently and is better than going out to sign a 32, 33 year old who just doesn’t have that right now. and and you could kind of see that in their game. Um, from my understanding, Gabe Davis is still dealing with the knee thing that is I don’t know what’s going on with it, but the Steelers were not pleased with the results that they got a second time around, which in my eyes is like the okay, it’s over, you know, like that’s the that’s the end of the line on Gabe Davis. Um, but I that’s the guy that they had in their heads the whole summer. the whole summer like you just heard it constantly that’s going to be the guy Gabe Davis is gonna end up signing in Pittsburgh and I think they felt that and then when he showed up and it wasn’t great they were like well what the hell do we do now? Where do we go from here? How confident are you in the receiving room? How confident are you in the offense with that receiving room currently? It’s the Achilles heel of the offense at this point. Like you it’s it’s deeply concerning. It’s deeply concerning and this can be flipped on a dime, you know, with a dominant week one performance in the passing game against the New York Jets, even against the low lead New York Jets. Like if if somehow this passing game comes out and Rogers is like completing 65 70% of his passes and you have Calvin Austin and Roman Wilson catching five passes each for like 60 70 yards while DK’s doing his thing. Then we’re like, my lord, this was just it was staring us in the face the entire time, right? But until that happens, it’s a deeply concerning group. It’s the offensive line is not what concerns me anymore. The running game is is is certainly a worry. Terrifying. Terrifying is a great word, Noah. Great word. But the passing game, the lack of threats in the passing game outside of DK Mechaf is just so deeply concerning. I I would feel scale of 1 to 10 confidence a four out of 10 at most and that is just because I love Calvin Austin and what he can bring if he’s healthy. I love DK Metaf but like that’s what what is that actually in terms of onfield production? You’re talking about one legitimate wide receiver right now. So I agree it’s tough. What was your question you’re gonna ask? What’s your confidence level in in the offense as a whole? Probably right around five out of 10. you know, like you’re you’re banking on Aaron Rogers making up a ton of difference, which I am okay with Aaron Rogers making up a little bit of the difference, right? Like, but 41year-old Aaron Rogers, I do not want him to be making up a seismic gap, you know, of of an an offense that just really can’t compete unless he does everything. I don’t think that’s a recipe for success. You know, you have some pieces if the offensive line becomes the gold standard in the AFC North, then like you might overachieve, but that is again hoping for overachieving, hoping for someone to make up the gap and the difference in such a huge way just seems like you’re setting them up for failure. So yeah, the confidence for me remains low to middling at the very best. Yeah, I agree. I agree. You’re looking at Jonnu Smith, banged up Janu Smith. Pat Fry has done very little. Darnell Washington is is a cheat code and hopefully he could do something. Kenneth Gainwell looks like your wide receiver three right now. Scotty Miller’s your wide receiver two which is terrifying. And then DK Metaf, man, it is without a strong running game. It is a concerning group. It is a concerning group for sure. Again, that could switch on the dime in week one, but we’ll see what happens. But man, I agree with you. It is not a place to be. if you are the Pittsburgh Steelers and how we have rode this roller coaster, man, all summer long. Three months of like, “It’s gonna get better. It’s gonna get better. It’s getting worse. It’s getting worse. It’s it’s gonna get better. It’s” And we have just coasted into the finish line with everybody going, “How was the ride?” And you’re going, “I I don’t think it was good. I don’t I don’t know. I can’t I can’t really tell yet.” Some It feels like we didn’t do anything. I don’t know. Here we are. We’ll see what happens. We’ll see what happens. With that said, though, we’re heading out here. What is Olave’s injury? I can’t find anything about him being injured currently. He has been and will continue to be my vote for WR2 but if he’s injured that changes things
Keep Leal for now. He helps in passing situations. He can play inside or outside on third and long. Jack Sawyer can't rush the passer very well.
Every 90 seconds, YT throwing up an ad break. Shit is getting outta hand…
But yeah beanie ain’t gonna make the 53 this year. Leal hasn’t been utilized in his strength, so try to get capital for em. I really like Skyler, so hope he lands somewhere he can start again soon. Waitman has a bright future too somewhere, he came up huge for us last year when Cam went down…. But we’re just stacking draft capital for next years draft, IN PITTSBURGH!!! Hope we can group up some picks to jump up, and get some good young talent! And no busts like an Artie burns.
I dont get it… Skylar is obviously the better qb and should be #2…. Period…
Enough with the Mason experiment
dude, y'all take Manson and put him on your podcast, the Steelers don't need old luggage who has been in the organization but has never had success as a QB…..Manson is trash smh. Thompson played and showed out to earn the BU spot. If you trade him, who do we plug at the QB position, because Mason can't do it, we've seen him in the past. THE TRUTH CAN NEVER BE DISRESPECTFUL
Do you guys really watch football? This is a horrible player option choice with everyone mentioning……. Mason, Pickett, and the NO Saints…… Man, what are y'all talking about….. Just talking for clicks, I guess. But y'all do have an opinion, but it's the worst.
I rather have a familiar name then a nobody as wr #2
Very strong chance that Rudolph will be playing a LOT
Nope you’re nuts if you think Skylar makes this team!
I think raiders going to try and get sanders fron browns just because of tb12 had some kind of relation with sanders family
You're not gonna get anything for Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer because teams know he is absolutely terrible but they do know Thompson can be a solid backup. So you're right trade Thompson and let our team gravel in the misery of interceptions and the lousy throws of Mason Rudolph 😮
Keep Skyler👍
Why would other teams give up anything for our crappy players?
Mason was a free agent and no team wanted him, now we're getting a draft pick.. Yinzer wishful thinking
I love how these morons say how good khan is he cant find a WR if his life depended on it but trade a very good one away hes a joke
Keep Beanie!
Bro I starting to think y’all just talking for content because we would be stupid to get rid of Skylar Thompson. Get rid of that sorry ass mason rudolph
Dont trade Skylar
Roman Wilson is that guy trust and believe
Hey Noah & Picnic Pack, I've been watching and subbed forever but don't know how to become a member of the pack and get my questions and call ins onto the show, can anyone help me out?
No way I trade Skylar Thompson for anything less than a 3rd rounder. I would trade Will Howard and Mason Rudolph for a 7th
Beanie is a young dawg, why not try to keep him?
La'el collins wasn't drafted because of injury concerns? Haha! Clown
We need to go trade for Alec Pierce
I had a feeling this is how it would end up when they traded Pickens 😫
I'm going to tell you what, they should keep Skyler Thompson, and let go of Will Howard. Reason being because Skyler is already proving himself, Will Howard may not be good, we already know that Skyler is and that's all we need is a good quarterback for third string, Will Howard might be getting the exact same treatment that Kenny Pickett got. I mean they're going to put Will Howard on injured reserve, right? For a broken finger and that could keep him from playing the rest of the year? I think it was unfortunate for Will that he broke his finger or his hand or whatever, but he was a late draft, and he might not be worth a crap, just to be honest so if they let Skyler go and then keep Will Howard and then Will Howard comes out and he's a joke then they're out that third quarterback. Next year Aaron Rodgers is going to be gone so Mason will be at the helm, they're going to need a good backup and Skyler Thompson can come right on in, and he's proven, Will Howard is not. Personally we'll thanks for your work ethic your work effort, but unfortunately it is what it is
Please trade mason, keep Skylar
Crazy to make the same mistake again.. How do you trade Diontae than the same situation with George, and not have a real backup plan in place ?
Jakobi Meyers requested a trade today. Go get him now Steelers!!!
Yes I agree with Jacob, why would any team trade for these players, when they aren't worthy of the risk that the players don't hit the practice squad or just get waived when they can pick them up without giving up a trade?
I really don't see any sure wr2 we could even get that also matches with rogers. Few I can think of are injured right now. Right now we just hope romans preseason translates.
punter battle is over
I agree trade mason
Yes I will keep Skylar
Can someone please talk about how Omar doesn’t kno what he’s doing and how he’s ruining this team and taking steps back
I agree! Skyler looks really good.
Bailey Zappe was cut. Teams can get him for free that need a backup. He's not much worse than Rudolph
If we trade bishop ima be pissed he so good and cheap bad move just like when we let Mike Hilton go stupid move
I hope they trade Joey Porter , he always is making big mistakes on the field
Get Jacoby Meyers
Lol.. my confidence in this offense is a 3 outta 10. Now.. they have potential to be very good. But my confidence in them reaching their potential is a 3
I heard just yesterday that Steelers had decided Aaron #1; Mason #2; Skylar #3 and they are putting Will on IR and just wait an see if he needs just a few weeks till possibly ready in some form OR stay on IR most if not ALL of the season and learning the Steelers way with possibility of maybe some light practice in rehab. We NEED to follow the game plan that was talked about just yesterday. If not, we risk having a repeat of something NEAR catastrophe like when Mason was in for the injured BEN and was tackled and opponent hit him in the head with his own helmet – if something like that happened this season. your #3 Will would be unable to play – then what? Forfeit the game?? – As the saying goes, "Better safe than sorry" – Taking the route as mentioned above is the BEST route !!
So if thats the case why is he a trade option? Get rid of the man that been there for years an hasn't done anything to earn anything more then a second or third qb on a roster an bring in all new prospects u are trying to find your next franchise qb we know mason isnt it so why keep him
