Monday, we’re going to have a small card in Major League Baseball and NFL, but we’re going to look ahead to uh week five college football, week four NFL, as well as WNBA playoffs along the way. But let’s get to this one between the San Diego Padres’s and the Milwaukee Brewers. The San Diego Padres’s sending out Nick Paveta for the start in this one. While the Brewers will counter with Freddy Peralta. Peralta I originally thought was going to start on Sunday but got moved to this start and um tricky travel spot for Milwaukee playing in St. Louis on Sunday and then having to travel right to to San Diego for this one. But still, you know, the the Brewers as a team were still playing some solid baseball. Entering Sunday, they had won six of their last eight games. And uh you know, like I said, they’re just trying to uh trying to make sure that they secure home field for, you know, the uh the National League portion of the playoffs. 95 and 61. You know, they’re almost there. They’ve almost uh got a top two seed locked up. And uh I think a win here would secure that for the Milwaukee Brewers depending on how uh how Sunday’s results go. But uh you know still the Milwaukee Birds I think also want to keep the momentum up and keep playing solid baseball not just take their foot off the gas um because of the fact that they’re already you know the uh you know the champions of the NL Central and you know probably going to have a top two spot and Freddy sending Freddy Peralta tells me that I mean still you want to give Peralta to regular rest and Peralta has been solid I mean his last seven starts a 1.38 RA the problem was his last road start was the roughest of the bunch. Uh, five runs, gave up on six hits, over five innings of work, a pair of home runs against the Texas Rangers. And you look at the San Diego Padres’s in the month of September against right-handed pitching. They have been able to hold their own. I mean, this is a uh a San Diego lineup. It’s hitting 258. The isolated power numbers are around league average. The team ops numbers though are just outside the top 10. And like I said, I still think that there’s a lot to like about the San Diego team, but I do like the matchup here for Peralta just given the fact that like I said, he’s in great form right now. Faced the Padres’s already this season at home. It was six innings, a one hit shutout ball. Now, that was in Milwaukee and he he is on the road for this one where Peralta has been less effective all season long, but I still think he can hold his own here. On the other side, you got Nick Paveta who has been really really solid at home. He did struggle a little bit in his last start. three runs on seven hits. It was three solo home runs against the New York Mets on the road. You look at his last, you know, few home starts. I mean, Peralta Peralta, pardon me, Pavetta, a a 2.40 erra in his last seven starts, but the starts at home, seven innings of four hit shutout ball against the uh against Cincinnati Reds, six innings of two-run ball against the Los Angeles Dodgers, six innings of one-run ball against the San Francisco Giants. So, Paveta for me, I think, is still a solid option, especially when he’s at home. The Milwaukee Brewers in September against right-handed pitching are still a really formidable lineup hitting .280 with a team OPS number inside the top 10, just outside the top five. Isolated power numbers could be better, but still, you have a solid pitcher in Paveta who at Petco Park this season is 8-1 with a 2.22 RA and a 170 opponent batting average. So, for me, I think the unders hitting in the first five here. Wouldn’t be opposed to anyone taking it for the full game. Um, seven feels a little bit tight, but I still think the under in the first five is a great way to go here. So, I’m going to go with the under in the first five between the Brewers and the Padres’s, and that’s going to be my free pick.
