Baltimore Orioles vs Seattle Mariners | LIVE! Play-by-Play & Commentary | 8/12/25 | Game #119
see a show. But Miss Kate said no. I’ll tell you what you can do. Take me out to the ball game. Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and crackers, Jack. I don’t care if I never get back. Let me root. Root root for the home team. If they don’t win, it’s a shame. For it’s one, two, three strikes. were out at the old ball game. [Music] Katy Casey saw all the games, knew the players by their first names, told the umpire he was wrong all along. Good and strong when the score was just two to two. Casey Casey knew what to do. just to cheer up the boys she knew. She made the gang sing this song. Take me out to the ball game. Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and crack a jack. I don’t care if I never get back. Let me root root for the home team. If they don’t win, it’s a shame. For it’s one, two, three strikes. You’re out at the old ball game. [Music] Greetings folks and welcome to live coverage of Orioles baseball where tonight the Baltimore Orioles will begin a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners here at Oriel Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland. How you doing everybody? It’s your old pal the bird watcher here. People call me BW for short. That works for me. Uh we’ve had a day off here in the middle of this sixgame home stand. little bit unusual. Uh we had an off day before uh the Friday uh night game that started the home stand, a three-game series against the Athletics, which we lost. Uh and then we have another off day yesterday, which I guess after you lose a three-game series to the A’s at home, uh you could afford a day off. Uh we’re back at it tonight. Three more with Seattle before we hit the road. we go to Houston and then uh we go to Boston I believe for just a twoame series and then next week we have Wednesday off. It’s a weird schedule, a little bit weird, but hey folks, welcome welcome to here. Let me get up a button for this. Welcome to what I’m calling ain’t no more waiting on our top prospects week. [Music] That’s right, folks. You’re asking yourself, when the hell is Dylan Beaver going to get here? Look at this outfield. Who are these guys? Who are I don’t know. Who are you? Who are you? I don’t know. Uh there’s every reason in the world to call up Dylan Beavers, but there’s only one reason he hasn’t been. Service time manipulation, folks. Mike Elias has decided, hey, why worry about the product on the field that people are paying hundreds of dollars uh every time they come out here with their family? uh when we have the ability to keep a perfectly uh good young player uh that is needed desperately for this outfield right now down. Let’s keep him down because by doing so for about another oh four days, three or four days, uh then he won’t be a rookie until next season. He won’t lose that status. And then if he were to go on to win rookie of the year, then we would get a compensation pick back. So if all that were to happen, oh, plus he has to qualify as one of the top 100 prospects in all of Major League Baseball. Um, now he’s probably on his way on getting that designation. In fact, one of the three publications, uh, was it Baseball America or MLB uh, Pipeline? Either way, he has entered the top 100 on a list today. Uh, number 93 somewhere. So, I guess this tiny chance in order to sacrifice product on the field, it’s starting to work. All Dylan Beavers has to do now is win rookie of the year next year. Be the best rookie in all of Major League BA baseball. be a better rookie than teammate Sammy Basio. Let’s just hope it all works out, right? Otherwise, yeah, we’ve been throwing guys out here in the outfield for last 10 days or so that uh probably shouldn’t be playing in a major league outfield. But hey, you got to try to win the big prize. By the way, the last time the Orioles won a compensation pick from a rookie of the year winner, that being Gunner Henderson, uh the pick we made was for shortstop Griff, who by the way, uh isn’t really blowing it up in our farm right now. Uh again, I don’t understand it. I really don’t understand the mentality of prioritizing just manipulating everything in order to possibly get one of your rookies to qualify and then win the rookie of the year award to get one pick and and and for that 3% chance that is the most that’s the highest chance I’m going to give this in terms of it working out. 3% for that 3% chance. Mike Elias, Orioles, uh, front office ownership, whoever, uh, you’re willing to put out a lower quality product out on the field for the actual team that we’re here to watch, the team representing our city. You feel me, folks? Priorities. You think Earl Weaver would tolerate this sort of approach to building a team? Earl Weaver would tell you, “Hey, it’s my job to win the ball games. So, give me access to the best players we have in our organization. I’ll decide who they are. Give them to me and I’ll go out there and I’ll win us some ball games.” If that means uh one less draft pick for you next season, that’s your problem. figure out another way to make this team better without that one thing. I’m trying to win ball games. Capich? All right. I’m glad we uh we know where we’re coming from on that. All right. The Mariners are here. We haven’t gone over the lineups, the starting pitching, nothing. I’m running late, but I can tell you what just happened. Great. Great time for the game to just cut out. I can tell you it’s George Kirby pitching for the Mariners against Dean Kramer for Baltimore. Kramer is stepping onto the mound right now about to throw the first pitch with Randy Rosarena at the plate for the Mariners. It’ll be a Rosa Raina, Cal Rally, and Julio Rodriguez to lead it off for Seattle. We’ll look at the rest of the lineup here in just a sec. First pitch of the ball game is hit hard and up the middle for a base hit. One pitch of Rosarena is on with a leadoff single. 110 miles an hour off the bat and Dean Kramer is rudely introduced. Dylan Carlson’s in left field for Baltimore. Greg Allen in center. Ryan Nota in right. Westber at third, Gunner at short, Holiday at second, Mayo at first, and Rutman behind the plate defensively for Baltimore. Here’s Cal Raleigh, switchhitting catcher that is trying to break the all-time single season record for home runs by a catcher. He hits this one a mile high on the first pitch to right. Nota is there. Just a couple of small steps to his left and he makes the catch. One away. Kramer has faced two batters on two pitches and that’ll bring up Julio Rodriguez. He’s hitting 256, 23 homers and 63 driven in. Made the All-Star team this year. Some folks feel uh he that he uh probably wasn’t more deserving than some others. And here’s Rutman dropping the ball as he tries to pop up to throw out a Rose Arena going down to second. A Rose Arena took off to steal. Rutman drops the ball trying to transfer it to his throwing hand. So stolen base for Rose Arena, his 23rd of the season. He’s now at second base with one out. And the 1 to Julio is low and away 2 and 0. We’ve got the scoreboard up and working here. Rodriguez has had very good success in the past against Kramer. Five hits and eight at bats, including a long ball. There is a splitter. Swung on and missed. Two and one the count. I got a lot to catch up on, folks. A lot to catch up on. I guess that’s what the between innings is for. Right. First things first, I got to make some coffee. Uh, that pitch is low and away. Three balls, one strike. So the rest of this uh Mariner lineup, Josh Naylor, the cleanup hitter on deck. Auhaneo Suarez who came over. Both Naylor and Suarez over from the Diamondbacks. He’ll bat fifth and play third base. Jorge Palano, the DH, will hit sixth. Dominic Kenzone is in right field batting seventh. JP Crawford at shortstop hitting eighth. And batting ninth, playing second base, Cole Young. It’s a full count now on Julio Rodriguez. And that ball’s hit hard, but nicely picked at third by Westber. Over to first in time. And with that ball hit in front of Julio Rodriguez, he is rooted at second base. It’s two down with that runner at second. Folks, friendly reminder, if you’re just getting in here and settling in, hopefully you’re doing well. We’ve had a couple of days off. Just a gentle reminder to please tap that like button at the bottom of your screen, device, whatever it is you’re watching or listening with. Here’s Josh Naylor, 292 average, mostly while with the Diamondbacks this season. He goes after the first pitch and hits a base hit into right center field. A Rosa Arena will come around to score and the Mariner offense is off and running here in the first. Naylor lifts his average up. even higher now up to 294 after this RBI single. All right, here’s Auhaneio Suarez. First pitch to him is low and away. Runner at first, two down, a run in for Seattle. This Mariners lineup has certainly gotten a shot in the arm with the additions of Naylor and Suarez as this one’s tapped behind the plate. Seattle enters the day one game behind the Astros for the best record in the AL West. A record of 66 and 53. They’ve won seven straight. Great time to run into them, huh? One- one pitches inside. Kramer’s only thrown 12 pitches. Two down, runner at first. Run already in. And I need coffee. Painfully obvious. I need caffeine. Next pitch is tapped foul. The runner was off on that pitch. He will go back to first. Josh Naylor, by the way, one of the slower runners in baseball, but uh he’s got success stealing bases. He’s a very good base runner. It’s two and two on Suarez. Dangerous power bat pitch from Kramer. Nope. He’s going to check on Naylor. He’s backstanding. Wow. I’m listening to Kevin Brown imitate me. I am the one talking about how Naylor is a good base runner despite how slow he is. I brought it up first, Kevin. There’s a swing and a miss. And what happened? My game just jumped. A game just jumped out of out of its It does this sometimes. It just jumps out of the game into this event about to start video. What the hell am I looking at here? Uh, it looks like the inning is over, folks. Suarez has struck out, so see you later. 16. Well, y’all come back now. You hear? All right, let me work on getting this game back up. All right, folks. We go to the bottom of the first. The Mariners have uh one run. The Orioles are coming up to hit. Uh the Orioles lineup, Jackson Holiday will lead off and play second base. Jordan Westber’s at third, base, batting second. Gunner Henderson’s the shorts stop hitting third. Adley Rutman will do the catching and hit fourth. Oh my god. Want to play games or play games? Ryan Mount Castle will DH and hit fifth. Kobe Mayo will bat sixth and play at first base. Ryan Nota gets a start in right field. He’ll hit seventh. Dylan Carlson’s in left field batting eighth and Greg Allen will bat ninth and play center field. Carlson hasn’t had a hit in about I don’t know 35 at bats. Greg Allen is still looking for his first hit at all uh on the season. And Ryan Nota after putting up some miserable numbers with the White Socks is hitting a robust 098. Folks, you can’t mess with the bottom of our order. 0 for 35. Thank you there, Carl. Carl, I’m going to leave it up to you to keep track until that streak finally ends. Some things I just some things I just don’t want to keep track of. You hear me? All right. So, George Kirby’s on the mound. He’s uh he’s good. He’s one of the really good arms here in this Mariners rotation. Right-hander pe opponents are hitting 148 off of his fast ball, folks. He’s got several other uh pitches in his mix, but that fast ball of his. It’s really hard to pick up, really hard to barrel up. Uh Charm City chat, probably not enough time to get through names here before the first pitch here in the bottom half of the inning, but Matt is here, Froggy’s here, Carl, India. [Music] Here’s first pitch to Holiday. Swung on and missed. 0 and1 to Holiday. [Music] Jackson Holiday 251 average, 14 homers, 44 driven in. His OPS is under 700. And that ball is hit softly to second. He’ll be thrown out on a play on the run by Young. The Mariners second baseman Holiday retired to begin the bottom of the first. Westber coming up next. West is that way. Westber’s batting 266. All right, I brought up some notes here to share with you. ground ball to second base. One pitch and that’s the second out of the inning. Two outs on three pitches. The Orio offense is right back into the swing of things, folks. So folks, uh, Felix Bautista, in case uh, you had some strange delusion that he was going to return before the season was over, uh, we now have confirmation he will not as Gunner Henderson looks at a pitch low for ball one. His name’s Gunnar and he’s dating my mom. Gunner hitting .284, 14 homers, 50 driven in. Bautista’s going to have another medical appointment later this week. Meanwhile, Zack Efflin is also out for the season and that could mean we’ve seen him pitch his last game for Baltimore. He’s uh having a procedure known as lumbar micro dissecttomy. Uh I would assume that is a back procedure. two and one the count on Gunnar. Of course, Grayson Rodriguez shut down for the remainder of the year. He did have successful, they’re saying, uh, elbow debridgement uh, surgery. So, now he begins his recovery process, which Grayson Rodriguez recovery process, that phrase to me just uh, it makes my teeth itch. 3-1 to Gunner. That is a strike. Full count. Come on, Gunner. Do something on this payoff pitch. [Music] Two down, nobody on. Bottom of the first. Mariners have an early lead. One- nothing. Gunner trying to do something here with a 3-2 pitch. hits it on the ground toward first and a long a close play I should say as Josh Naylor will beat Gunner to the bag for the unassisted put out and the inning is over. All three batters in the inning hit the ball on the ground to the right side without a whole lot on it. And again, that’s the deal with George Kirby. He’s not It’s not easy to hit the ball with authority off of him. Gets a lot of weak contact if he’s not striking you out. Uh we go to the second inning. It’s one- nothing Seattle. Tyler Wells, folks, will make two or three more rehab starts. Uh he had a pretty good one uh in his last outing. Kyle Bradish, they are saying two more starts. They are putting an actual number on it. So, two more for Bradish. And they’re also saying that when Albert Suarez, if he’s ready to return to the team before the end of the season, uh it will be in a bullpin uh bulk relief role. They’re saying Bradish will get his next rehab start on Thursday and Wells on Friday, both uh with Triple A Norfol. And I guess that pretty much catches you up. Oh, uh, we’ve had some uh, transactions as well. We’ve gone back to the waiver wire. Our newest addition is outfielder Daniel Johnson, who was uh, DFAD by the San Francisco Giants a few days ago. He has yet to report to the team, but it looks like the Orioles are planning to call him up as soon as he does. Uh who will they’ll send down down? We’ll find out. Meanwhile, they have selected the contract also of right-handed pitcher Jose Espatada from Triple A Norfol uh and optioned him there. Meanwhile, Houston Roth, who has been in our bullpen, if you didn’t know, for about a week without getting an appearance, I believe, uh he’s been DF8. Houston Roth, thank you for your contribution to this second half of 2025 post deadline oral bullpen. We hardly knew you. Now look at this lady. She’s got her baby in one hand. She’s got a French fry in the other. Got a couple of other ladies here chowing down. Lady with a pretzel. Get you something to eat. All right, here we go. Top of the second inning. This is the easier part of the lineup. We’ll begin with Jorge Palano is dhing tonight. Switch hitter batting from the left side. First pitch from Kramer as a curveball in there for a strike. So did I start going down the list already? I think I started. Don’t know where I gave up. Matt, Chawa, Carl, Edward, Froggy, Gary. That pitch is outside one and one. Uh we got Edward Bowers and Edward Cantor. The two Eds, folks. Uh Tom me. That’s me. Here’s a ground ball through the hole on the left side. A base hit. A softly hit grounder that bleeds in the left. Lead off single for the Mariners. Here they go again. George is here. I get everybody. Probably not. Backter. I detect just a tad of sarcasm there at Orioles Bird Watcher. It might might detect a little bit. Little bit. Little bit. Curt is here. There’s a swing and a miss by Kenzone. Hey, Mama Mia. Huh? I’m freaking starving here. How about I get a slice of that can zone? Dominic Kzone. He’s hitting .280. He’s got seven homers. He’s got 18 freaking RBI. And that ball’s freaking crushed in the right. A diving catch attempt. I think it’s trapped. All right. It’s a fieldielder’s choice. Nota trapped it, but the runner at first didn’t know what to do. So Nota traps it, pops up, throws to second, and gets the force play. That’ll go down as a fieldielder’s choice. Folks, even when Nota can’t make a catch in the outfield, he’s still making plays. Nod no. Here’s JP Crawford. One out. Renard at first. First pitch is upstairs, but it’s top of the zone for a strike. Hey, Garrett. Family Aquatics is here. Isaac, who the heck am I missing? Janet is here. David in France. This pitch is off the play. One ball, one strike on JP Crawford. He’s hitting 263. Left-handed batter. What is going on with my stream? It did it again. It bounced me out of the game again. What are you doing? What are you doing? All right, it’s back. I don’t know what’s going on. Two and one on Crawford pitch upstairs. Three in one. She squeezed me so hard she nearly broke my spine. I’m sorry, Patrick. Was that meant to be an Arnold quote? It sounds like something from an Arnold movie. 3-1 pitch. Foul back. Full count on JP Crawford. The 3-2 to Crawford. Hit on the ground and the first baseman Mayo goes to second for one. Back to first. It is a double play with Dino covering the bag, folks. [Music] folks. Hit it. All right, that inning ends with a double play ball. 3-6 to one. We go to the bottom of the second. Mariners won. Orioles nothing. And I need caffeine like nobody’s business. Haha. So stand by. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. Think about going down to Houston tomorrow. Getting me some of them Aerosmith tickets. Party at the Moon Tower later. Going to be a full keg. Everybody’s going to be there. You ought to go. I probably ditch these two dorks you’re with, but that’s okay. I do like them red heads though. I do like them. All right. All right. All right. [Music] [Music] He met a strange friend in the Chesapeake Bay when All right, bottom of the second. Rutchman up to lead it off against George Kirby. First pitch is a called strike at the very, very, very bottom of the zone. Rutman’s hitting 235, nine homers, 27 driven in. That one’s What? You’re calling that a strike? Blue. Blue. Are you nuts? Brutman had to lean out of the way of that pitch. It is neck high, you schmuck. Now a check swing in the dirt. Are you going to screw him there? I would hope not. Thank you for the appeal. And no swing, you schmuck. Why don’t you wake up and smell what you shoveling? Not the beast. Not the beast. My eyes. [Music] The one two to Adley upstairs. Two and two. Come on, Adley. Two-2 pitch hit on the ground on a high bounce to third. A throw to first is in time. Rutman retired. Yeah. I hope everybody enjoys their random uh squid game number, everybody. That’s right. It’s the bird watcher squid game. Bird watchers will be eliminated one by one until there’s only one left. Hope you don’t mind. All right, here’s Ryan Mount Castle. He looks at one outside. Ball one. Where you at, buddy? Okay, mount up. 10 to Mount Castle is Oh god, that is a tough pitch. A slider that broke low and away, which is Mount Castle’s Achilles heel, but it did catch the corner of the zone. Mount Castle can’t win with a pitch like that. 1-1 outside. He lays off. Two balls, one strike. Folks, remember we’ve got new emojis in the Charm City chat. If you are a Magic member, show them off. The 2-1 is swung on a miss. Two balls, two strikes. Show off the the toys, folks. It might entice others to maybe come on in for 17 cents a ball game and be a Magic Mea. 22 to Mounty. That’s low. Full count. Okay. [Music] Woo! Payoff pitch hit on the ground toward the second baseman. Oh, that was the first baseman. Wow. I was going to Hell of a play there. First baseman is playing pretty much at second base with the shift on. Josh Naylor going a long way toward second base to get to the ball. So Kirby’s responsibility was to haul ass to first as he was the only fielder anywhere near that bag to receive the ball and make the out. They all did their jobs and Mount Castle’s retired. Two down. Here’s Kobe Mayo. Just get it all on there. Just spread it out. 217 average for Mayo. Takes a called strike. Kirby’s looking like his typical self, which is not good news for us. Not an easy guy to get to. There’s a strike slider. 0 and2 on Mayo. Say my name and I’ll be member promise. James McCale 6843. How’s that? Here is the O2 pitch. That is off the plate. One ball, two strikes. Two down, nobody on. Bottom of the second. Pretty sparse looking crowd once you get past the bases down the outfield lines here. Called strike three. And that was a tough call. I mean, it’s just a good pitch. Kirby with the count he was on, he could afford to nibble and he if he caught that upper outside corner, he did by one stitch of the baseball. Mayo goes down on strikes. The inning is over. We head to the third. Mariners won. Orioles nothing. Steve Sammy and the Beaver will be on the air as soon as I would say Saturday. But uh I think we’re going to see these guys debut or at least Beavers. I’m still not sold that Bio comes up the moment the rookie eligibility thing kicks in. We’ll see if Maverick Hanley’s ready to get called up and they still want to give Basio a little bit more time and then call him up for September 1st as the additional roster guy. They could do that. Uh but uh Beavers, yeah, we we go to uh Houston after this series for the weekend, but then on Monday, we have a twoame series in Boston. And there’s just something about Orioles debuting at Fenway Park, folks. Uh or if not debuting, at least doing something special on a special day. I remember Adley Rutman had a five hit game on opening day a couple years back. I think that was his sophomore season, right? Colton Cowser, his coming out party was at Fenway. He had that two homer night. He really uh he really found himself at Fenway. Uh Jackson Holiday made his Orioles debut at Fenway. So, I’m saying why not keep the tradition going? If we’re not going to have him fly out to Houston, let’s get him ready for Monday in Boston. All right, we are in the top of the third inning and it is Kramer against Young. First pitch is on the inside edge for a called strike. There’s a strike as well. 0 and2 the count on Young. Cole Young. Low pitch, one ball, two strikes. It’ll be the top of the order for the Mariners after Young. Yeah, you know, all things considered, not the worst crowd. That’s not the worst. I’ve seen Weiss. I’ve seen Weiss, folks. I’ve seen Weiss. That’s a foul ball. That’s one and two on Young leading off the top of the third. One- nothing Seattle. Check swing. Looks like he went. They appeal and he did. See you later, Cole Young. [Applause] Well, y’all come back now. You hear? Well, y’all come back now. You hear? All righty then. Back to the top of the order. Rose Arena. He let off the ball game with a hit and came around to score. The only run so far. He takes a called strike on a nicely placed sinker by Kramer. Knee high on the inside corner. Rosa Rain also stole a base in that first inning. This one’s lifted foul. Well, it’s going to be in play. Holiday going toward the first base foul line. Makes the catch. All right, two easy outs here to begin the third. And here comes Cal Raleigh. All right, how do you handle Cal Raleigh, folks? What do you do? You don’t throw him anything. Don’t throw him anything. I’m happy we got him out once. I would trade an out for a next batter walk. He takes a big cut at a curveball low and it’s 0 and one. You can’t intentionally walk him with the bases empty. He’s not Barry Bonds in 2001, but there’s a swing and a miss. It’s 0 and2. Okay, I see you, Dino. A curve ball to get ahead. A splitter to follow it up. Couple of swings and misses. All right, go after him then. Just be very careful. Go after him, but be careful. That splitter is low. One ball, two strikes on Cal Raleigh. Fun fact, my favorite baseball player of all time is named Cal. And I once lived in Raleigh, North Carolina. Hit hard on the first base side foul. Hey, we got a ball girl out here with some nice gams. Show off the gams. Ain’t nothing wrong with that. I got nice legs. I’d be showing them off. All right. One ball, two strikes. Two down, nobody on. That’s inside. Two and two. That’s right. Pitch gently with excessive force. It’s a very gentle balance. Two two pitch. Good grief. That’s off the plate. Full count. The more pitches you throw to Raleigh, the more chances he’s going to uh hurt you. He got ahead of him and two. He’s thrown four pitches since. Here comes the seventh pitch of this at bat and it is a tapper in front of the plate. Rutman will pounce on it. Throw to first to throw out his counterpart. Cal Raleigh just one switchhitting catcher who’s been an allstar throwing out another. We go to the bottom of the third. It’s one- nothing Mariners. BW will be right back. Don’t go anywhere, folks. And please tap that like button while you’re here. We’ve got 89 people here. Less than 50 have hit the like button. Come on, folks. We’ve got a break in the action. It’s the best time to just get one small one second task out of the way. Please tap that like button at the bottom of your screen and I’ll be right back. Where’d you Baltimore? What? Baltimore. Baltimore. What’s that? It doesn’t really matter. All right, folks. As you can see at the sub count on our last game, we hit 3,200 subscribers. We are looking to move on up to the east side to that deluxe YouTube penthouse in the sky. So, if you are here right now and you’re not subscribed, think about doing that, too. It’s free. No commitment, no obligation. No salesman will visit your home. It ain’t like that. It’s good. It’s a win-win proposition. Uh, no risk, all reward. I’ll be right back. Yeah, this will be tough with Efflin in terms of that qualifying offer that you would give to a departing free agent. And if they don’t accept it, then if they were to sign somewhere else, then you would get a compensation pick. We all know how this works, right? At least until the next collective bargaining agreement. Uh here’s the one to Ryan Nota. That’s a called strike on a fast ball up and in. One on Nota. No, no, no. Not no one pitch low and away. Uh, what was I saying? What the hell was I talking about? I had something on my plate and I forgot. Have you heard? The actress that played D on What’s Happening passed away today. Oh, that’s sad. She was probably only a couple years older than me. Popped up on the uh catcher side of foul ground. Raleigh will make the catch. Not pops out. One away, folks. Dylan Carlson, he’s 0 for 35 or 36. What is it? Dylan, your son. I’m putting the hat on for this guy. Come on. Let’s go. Enough is enough. Come on, Carlson. Oh, yeah. The qualifying offer on Efflin. Yeah. So, like with the injury and being out for the last two months of the season, do you want to offer him a qualifying offer? because he’d probably take it and I don’t know if we want him to take it. You know what I mean? Which means no no pick. Uh 02 pitch to Carlson is high. One ball, two strikes. Dylan’s hitting 183. You think they would DFA Carlson before a guy like I don’t know Greg Allen or I don’t know. We just claimed an outfielder today from the Giants. Daniel Johnson. No, not Daniel Johnston. the famous uh indie film uh music maker from the 80s and 90s, Daniel Johnson. Uh two and two on Carlson, folks. Here it comes. I can feel it. Here comes Dylan’s hit. It’s a ground ball backhanded at second. Tough play. He will beat it out. That is a base hit for Dylan Carlson. and infield single. It might have been hit 40 m an hour off the bat. Ladies and gentlemen, Dylan. Dylan, you son of a Dylan. Your son. He did it. He did it. He’s at first base. One down. Now Greg Allen’s turn to get his first hit ever as the Orioles bottom of the order. Trying to do something for the first time since July. Cal Raleigh comes out to talk to Kirby. Well, this has got to make Greg Allen feel pretty good. Wow, look at this. I got a couple of all stars out here having a mound meeting about me. This is odd. What could they possibly be talking about? They’re probably deciding. What way do you want to get Allan out? What are you thinking? Blowing away up and in. What would look better on uh on a demo reel? Okay, so Greg Allen is 0 for 10 as an oral. 0 for 10. If we get backto back hits from Carlson and Allen, I’m done. Pitch check swing. He went around. Pitch low and in. How did I miss ball one? Apparently, it’s a one ball, one strike. Carlson at first with one out. We’re in the bottom of the third. Mariners with a one- nothing lead. Kirby about to throw his 36th pitch of the evening. Inside, two- one, folks. Why not get some offense out of the unlikeliest of places? Why not? [Music] Two and one. Allen and on the ground. Four 6 three double play. See you later. Inning over. Yeah. [Music] Let’s do some big bucks. Big bucks. Stop it all. [Laughter] Who are you? Who are you? Who are you? Who are you? [Laughter] Hey folks, BW’s got a promise to all the bird watchers out there who continue to watch this team down the stretch in this forgettable 2025 season. Uh, I got a promise if you stick around until the very end. Hey everybody, we’re all going to get laid. All right, BW guarantee. I mean, name me a channel that gives back like BW gives back. Everybody gets laid. We’ll have to show proof of ID. We can’t be doing anything, you know. There is no BW island or anything like that going on here. All right. Just regular old adults consenting, getting laid. Okay. Just hang out. Hey everybody, we’re all going to get laid. Fantastic. Oh, by the way, no sex talk. Hey everybody, we’re all going to get laid. Oh boy, is this great. All right. I need a lucky. Oh, you know it’s the dog days of summer. It’s middle of August. Everybody’s running hot. All right. Top of the fourth. Julio Rodriguez will swing the bat. Takes outside for ball one. Where are we at? We should be over here. We should be over here. But why is this like this? Update that. The 10 outside 2 and 0. Oh, you you pnikity little scoreboard you. There we go. 20 pitch. That’s not close. Three and0 on Rodriguez. you’re talking about as as a war winds above replacement. I mean, it’s not an easy thing to predict because your war is always relative to what everybody else in the league is doing. It’s comparing your stats to what the the the mean average is, right? So, you kind of have to look at it at the end of the season, but certainly when you’re a catcher and you’re on the verge of breaking the home run record and uh defensively you’re pretty good, too, then yeah, typically you’re going to look at a war in that seven and a half range, possibly more. Possibly, possibly flirting with eight. Here’s a 3-2 pitch to Rodriguez. That one’s hit to third base side. Is it fair? No. Just hit foul. One more bounce before Westber picked it up. Full count on Rodriguez. He’ll go back to the plate. He hustled down the first baseline. So trying to collect his breath on the way back to the plate is Oh, that’s better. Oh, you mean ah you’ve updated the uh Gotcha, Froggy. Perfect. No talk of actual sexual acts. No lewd sex talk. We like innuendo here. We like in you window. We like in me endo. As long as somebody’s getting an endo in them, right? [Laughter] All right. Uh Rodriguez just got a free pass lead off walk in the fourth after a long at bat there. Kramer’s up to 46 pitches. as he’s only gotten through three innings. That’s not a terrible pitch count situation, but not a good start to this inning. Josh Naylor, he’s already been on with an RBI single tonight. Driven in the only run of the game so far. He looks at a first pitch off the plate. And a big cut and a miss on a splitter to make the count one and This one’s fouled away. One ball, two strikes. Somebody’s asking the charm city chat if they remember. Who? Oh, I’m just having fun. One and two. The count on Naylor. Everybody’s waiting on some beavers to get up here. It’s like a bachelor party. [Laughter] All right. One, two, pitch coming to Naylor. There goes the runner. Pitch is low. And did he not go? Oh, wow. Okay. I’m like, why isn’t Adley looking to throw him out? because he faked going to second and the camera cut away before he stopped faking. Hey, speaking of faking. Hey everybody, we’re all going to get laid. Here’s a fly ball into the upper deck. Fouled over on the right side. It’s two and two. Uh, Froggy, that’s because uh it’s all about the pedigree of the player. Uh, when they’re drafted, uh, most cases, uh, even the highest draft picks are going to start their careers in Aball. And with this latest prospect uh p published this latest list, they are now factoring in all of these just recently uh drafted players. So guys like Ethan Holiday, for example, is 17th overall on the new top 100 list. But Ethan Holidayiday is not going to start his major league or his professional career at AAA. I don’t think so. Uh, and that’s a top top pick. But even if you’re like a mid to late first round pick, you’re the odds are you’re going to start in a ball, but because you’re such a hot pick, you’re still considered a major prospect. So yeah, uh uh the the level of organization you’re playing with doesn’t necessarily point to uh you know your ranking of a of a prospect. In fact, often times you’ll find the bigger prospects playing in double A versus AAA. TripleA usually winds up being the place where fringe guys sort of fill out the organization and and provide depth for the for the main team. Guys you can go down and call on for any given position, you know. But peppered in with those kinds of players are guys that are one step away from, hey, we just threw out somebody at second base. I apologize for the TED talk, folks. Rutman just nailed a wouldbe base dealer at second base. How about that? And that’s Julio Rodriguez. He’s known to be pretty good at the art of base stealing. That tag and that throw right on the money. One out. And here comes Well, it’s still a 3-2 count on Naylor. Payoff pitch. That ball’s lifted to right. Stay in the yard. It will stay in the yard. Ryan Nota on the edge of the warning track, folks. This this inning uh went topy turvy real quick. Seattle was in a threatening position. They had a runner on with speed. They had the dangerous nailer at the plate. Auhane Suarez on deck. And after all this, it’s bases empty, two down for Suarez. And he taps one foul to make it 0 and one. All right. Hey, get this hot dog out of here. Oh boy. 01 to Suarez off the plate. One ball, one strike. You should be on a list, sir. Do you have to hold your hands up like that? Put your hands down. You’re threatening me. One-1 pitch outside. The 2-1 is hit in the air. Center field. Allen makes the catch. And that will end the inning. Here comes the hot dog races, folks. That’s what it’s all about. They don’t seem to be racing. They seem to be just gyating and taunting the folks sitting in the right center field bleachers. Where’s the race? Don’t taunt me. Imagine getting taunted by a six-foot hot dog. That’s not why I got here. All right. Hey, we’re going now to where? Fifth inning. Where the hell are we going? Oh, bottom of the fourth. We’ve It’s our turn to hit. Really? Okay. Hey, get this. Everybody’s 0 for one except Dylan Carlson. Nobody has a hit except Dylan Carlson. I mean, of course. What would you expect? What else would you expect? I mean, yeah. Am I allowed to just take a bite out of one of these dogs if it starts running by me? Yeah. So, I’d say right now, uh, I think the Orioles now have four or five guys in the top 100. Uh, I’m I got to start working on his name. It It begins with a W, but you don’t pronounce it with a W. It’s like a Y. Is it Yahya Aloy? Yahoy or V? I think it’s a V. Vahiva Aloy alloy. All I know is you don’t pronounce an wahiwa. It’s not a w. It’s a v or a I don’t know, but he’s on the list. Uh Jackson Holiday, first pitch is a strike. George Kirby, haven’t been able to do anything off of him yet. [Music] Yeah, Patrick, that’s been the first talking point of the night. I said, “Welcome to the final week of waiting on Beavers and Basio’s service time manipulation.” That’s what we’re here for. I’m predicting Beavers gets called up on Monday when we go to Boston for a twoame series. I don’t think they’ll bring him out even though he’s eligible. I think Saturday or Sunday. I don’t think they’re going to fly them out to Houston. The Orioles have had uh some recent track record of of uh seeing their players either debut or break out at Fenway. I was talking about that, too. Here’s a one-two to Holiday. Swung on and missed. Chased a high fast ball and down he goes. So yeah, Jackson Holidayiday made his major league debut at Fenway Park. Uh Colton Cowser not didn’t make his debut, but definitely had his breakout. Uh he definitely made a uh his uh he he took his first steps into becoming an everyday player with his uh performance at Fenway early last year. Uh, who else? Adi Rutman went five for five in his second season after uh that rookie season. Well, that ball is going to be caught out there in deep right center field. Jordan Westber makes a bid for the opposite field, but comes up a little bit short. That ball caught out there by the grounds crew shed. Two down. Yeah, Rutchman following up his rookie season, his first opening day start was a game at Fenway and he had a five for five day. So yeah, there’s been some nice events for Orioles early in their careers at Fenway and maybe Beavers will be the next guy. That’s my prediction anyway. Here’s Gunner Henderson. First pitch outside for ball one. Two down, nobody on. Bottom of the fourth. Low and in. 2 and 0. Drop some info in the Discord for me. Thanks, Patrick. Well, wait a minute. I’m saying thanks. I better wait first. There’s a base hit into right center field. Second hit of the day for Baltimore. Gunner takes a wide turn and now he’s thinking two. The throw is in and he is safe. Gunner Henderson reading that perfectly almost inducing a throwin from the outfield and he sneaks his way into second base. Oh, folks. I can’t say that I can sign off on him gambling like this, but it’s got to pay off once in a while. It pays off here. And that puts him with two down in scoring position to give us a decent shot at tying the ball game. Adley Rutman coming up next. Splash that up, folks. [Music] All right, Rutchman. First pitch is low for ball one. Let the clutch out gently. Okay. Okay, Janet. A one to Adley. That is low. Two and 0. [Music] Gunner at second. Two down the two. That’s a strike on the outside part of the plate. Come on, Charm City chat. We need to scratch one run. Tie it up. It’s not going to be a big inning. I don’t think against a guy like Kirby. You got to take one run here, one run there if you can get it. That one’s fouled away. Two balls, two strikes. You’re welcome, Janet. And once again, apologies about the scoreboard. I don’t know what’s happened since about a week ago, but it might have been on average once, maybe twice in a given game. I’d have to go in in there and refresh that. But now apparently I have to do it who knows how many times a game. I’m not a big fan. Two two to Rutman. Come on, buddy. Come on now. Pitch up and in. Full count, folks. Let’s go. [Music] Whoa. What’s a Oh, come on. The 32 to Rutchman and he fouls it off. That fast ball riding up and in on him at 97. Bites it away to keep the count alive at 3 and two. If Adley can get on, Mount Castle is waiting on deck. Come on, Adelie. Another 3-2. Swung on and missed. Knuckle curve ball. A knuckle curve ball on 32. Unhitable, nasty, filthy, and disgusting. We go to the fifth inning. Mariners lead this one one to nothing. All right, BW will be right back. [Music] [Music] He met a strange friend in the Chesapeake Bay when the Bacon. Bacon. Where’s the bacon? I smell bacon. Bacon. Bacon. Got to be bacon. Only one thing smells like bacon. That’s bacon. Bacon. Bacon. Bacon. Bacon. There. From that bag. What’s it say? I can’t read. Please. Please give me what’s in the bag. Chewy, yummy, smoky bacon. Here you go. Oh boy. Oh boy. It’s bacon. No, it’s bacon strips. Brand dog snack from Pyina. Bacon strips. Dogs don’t know it’s not bacon. It’s bacon. I apologize for Baltimore. Annie up and kick in like men. like men. Annie up and kick in like men. Like men. Folks, we’ve got another giveaway. The Orioles have pulled out all the stops. It’s a Jim Palmer replica jersey giveaway being modeled right there by Palmer himself, folks, just like the jockey underwear commercials from 50 years ago. All right, top o the fifth. Is that where we are? One- nothing Mariners. It’ll be Jorge Palano to lead it off for Seattle. Kramer’s first pitch is a curveball hitting the outside edge. How does that work, though? I mean, are they going to have jerseys in different sizes? There’s a lot of different sized people out there. You got to sit there and try it on to make sure it fits as you’re trying to shuffle your way into the Here’s a little softly hit ground ball on the third base side of the infield. The pitcher Kramer tried to get it. Luckily, he did not. Westber was the one to make the play and he does for the first out in the top of the fifth. Here’s Dominic Canzone. 60 pitches now for Kramer. Panzone looks at a pitch and hits it into left center field. That is a base hit. Here come the Mariners again. Kramer still looking for his first one, two, three inning, I believe. [Laughter] [Music] Uh JP Crawford at the plate. Wow. Kramer given a very uh generous call there of a strike. That pitch looked about 3 in above the zone. 0 and one on Crawford. That pitch high, one ball, one strike. Yeah, I’m sitting here visualizing a Manelino bobblehead. And you know how your your typical bobblehead, folks, it’s just like a guy is standing straight up and you tap the head and it’ll go like this. But I want to make a special manelino bobble head where with a little bit of a shake, instead of going like this, it goes like this. One, two to Crawford. One out, one on the pitch. Still one and two. A foul ball. So Tony, what were your thoughts about keeping him out there after he’d already given up four straight extra base hits? Here’s a ball hit to Holly at second hard. He goes to Gunner for one. Back to first two. A double play, folks. Call it a Baltimore miracle of some. [Music] Holiday uh had to handle a really hard hit ball and uh nice play there to stab it, turn, throw to second. Gunner with the relay back to first and that double play win the inning. Uh, at least two double plays turned tonight by the Orioles defense. Right. Nice. Now we go to the bottom of the fifth. Are we we already halfway through this ball game? Is this going to be another one of these record-breaking fast as hell games? Is this game only been on for like 45 minutes or am I crazy? What the hell? What is the deal? When did this start? Oh, it’s been like an hour and hour and 10, something like that. I don’t know. All I know is is that uh I got a lot of caffeine coursing through my veins. I bought this uh different kind of coffee. And while I’m not very pleased with the flavor versus my standard brand, I will have to admit, I don’t know what they put in this stuff, but it’s uh it’s got me jumpy. I got my my knees are shaking down here. My knees shaking. I’m awake. How’s everybody doing? Great. Good. Uh, we’re up to 70 likes, folks. 70% of the way to our target of 100. Please hit that like button if you haven’t done it already. Appreciate it. Think about subscribing as well. Mods in the Charm City chat. I can’t stress it enough. If there’s anything uh to prioritize in terms of mod uh stuff, it’s to invite people to subscribe. That is priority number one. Ryan Mount Castle with a bad looking swing on a pitch up and in to begin the top of the fifth. It’s an 01 count on Mounty. Okay, mount up. Here’s a ground ball fouled off to the left. 0 and2. I I’ll probably sit down and write some sort of a list of priorities in terms of what to mention in the chat. Subscribers definitely number one. Brown ball to the right side. Naylor is shaded way over toward the middle of the right side of the infield there. able to field it and go to the bag and retire Mount Castle. I mean, look how far over he had to go to his left he was shaded so far. Hey folks, we’ve got a magic membership being gifted once again by Annie Guardian. Annie Guardian Annie, we’ll just call you that. uh hooking up hooking up yet another fellow bird watcher out there, John Bonadia. Hey, thanks Annie once again for your helping and uh for your uh generosity hooking up somebody else free gifts. Thanks. Where’s the thanks button here? And I want to thank you very much for that. I really do. One-1 pitch to Kobe Mayo is fouled behind the plate. Mayo is 0 for one. Did I remember to change the uh scroll for tomorrow? Let’s see. What does it say? I’ll read it along with you. Next event is tomorrow night versus the Mariners. Okay, so far that’s accurate. Okay, we got it. Trevor Rogers against Logan Gilbert. Same start time as tonight, folks, just so you know. One, two to Mayo first. Kobe asks for time. Thanks, Annie. Am I listening to Melanie Newman talk in my ear right now? Swung on a miss. Mayo chased a high fast ball. George Kirby is just slicing and dicing his way through this oral lineup, making it look very easy. Honestly, I wouldn’t even be going up there right now with any kind of a plan other than look for a certain pitch in a certain quadrant of the plate and just take your best swing. Look at that pitch to get ahead of not 0 and1. sinker that drops to the top of the zone on the outside corner. I mean, Kirby is hitting all his spots. He’s mixing up the pitches. Hitters are off balance. Not got a fast ball here. Turned on it, but couldn’t keep it fair. It’s 0 and2. You got a one-run ball game. You got a ace or ace uh you know a discount ace if you don’t want to give them full ace status on the mound here. That’s high. One ball, two strikes, especially with two down, nobody on a hitter like not at the plate. I would just I would just go for it. Fouls us away. Still a ball and two strikes. Cuz if if if you sit around like say what Nota’s doing right now, he’s going to try and fight through this at bat, work the count, but Kirby’s never going to walk you. And uh he’s never gonna he’s not going to give in and make a mistake that you’re waiting for. You’re still going to eventually wind up swinging at something that’s either out of the zone or something right on the edge somewhere and probably not the same pitch you were looking for. That’s that’s what Kirby does. That’s what good pitchers do. They keep you off balance like that. Okay, Nota’s going to pop it up to center. It’s going to back up uh Julio Rodriguez just a step in front of the track. So maybe the farthest hit ball of the night by an oral, but it’s the straightaway center field and the result is just out number three. We go to the sixth inning. It is one- nothing Seattle. Time we got what we need is probably to get Kirby out of this ball game. Uh again, that’s why I’m saying like if I’m up there, especially if it gets to like a two down, nobody on situation, you’re not going to sit there and rally off like a walk, a hit, and then another hit to drive him in against a guy like this. you may as well just try and, you know, zone in on again a certain pitch, certain spot where you can give a home run swing and maybe tie up this ball game. Otherwise, he’s just he’s just he’s making this look really easy is what he’s doing. And I’m I’m saying that about an Orioles offense that hasn’t exactly been gang busters for a while. But I mean, tonight this has been uh a clinic for Kirby so far. What does this pitch count at? I mean, this guy could go the distance. 66 through five. H man. I’ll I’ll just put it this way, folks. It’s a one- nothing ball game, but it’s one of the more, you know, I’ve been down three runs where I felt more confident than I do about this. We need one little moment of magic in here. And we need to keep pitching. We can’t let the Mariners score anymore. All right, here we go. Dean Kramer, sixth inning of work up and away to Cole Young for ball one. Kramer’s only faced a couple of batters over the minimum himself. Unfortunately, he is the pitcher of record in the loss column right now. Here’s a ball hit out toward left. Carlson is there and he’ll make the catch. Just 68 pitches for Kramer. Four hits, two uh excuse me, one walk through five and a third. So, averaging less than one base runner per inning. That’s another fine pitching performance. Uh that’s being currently spoiled by a lack of offense. Randy Rosarena, third time through the order. Now he looks at one low and away. Ball one. Uh again, if you’re going to atmentntion me, you got to do it right. There’s no space between Orioles and bird watcher. Swing and a miss. one the count, but I see you. Since you’ve moved to another country, do you miss American food? What is your favorite American dish that you miss eating? I don’t really miss much because American food and just about any other food on the planet is available around here. Uh, make the count one and two on a Rosena. In fact, I just had Burger King again uh last night. I had to. They were offering two double cheeseburgers for five for what amount to about $5 and change American. I’m like, “Yeah, I’ll do that. That’ll put me in a food coma.” So, Rosarena strikes out here, folks. Second out of the inning. Well, y’all come back now. Are you here? But there is certain kinds of American foods that uh you know you don’t really find over here too much. What happened to my game now? Why are you doing this? Is this the twohour thing? This might be the two-hour thing. All right. Cal Raleigh at the plate. First pitch was a strike. Next pitch is ball one. One and one on Raleigh. Two down. Nobody on top of the six. The Orioles have kept Raleigh 0 for two so far. Uh so yeah, like you know, just to relate to the Baltimore crowd. If I wanted a crab cake sandwich, I’m not going to really find that here. But they do have a lot of crab dishes out here. This Why are you doing this? This ball is hit out toward left. Looks like Carlson is going to make the catch. And then my game cutaway. Carlson does make the catch. The inning is over. Six innings of one-run ball against this Mariner lineup, folks. For Dean Kramer, one run on four hits, one walk. So less than a base runner per inning. He struck out three. And what does he got to show for it, folks, right now? Uh he would be the losing pitcher of record for his efforts. Can we please do something for this g for this guy? All right. Yeah, folks. There’s plenty of American like if you’re talking about like American like corporate chain restaurant places, they’re here like they are everywhere else. The things that I miss are like, you know, things that are a little more local and uh whatever. Like uh I’ll put it to you this way. every every uh Thanksgiving when it would come around uh my my was it my aunt would make this spinach artic that spinach artichoke dip stuff where you would buy like a big roll of Hawaiian bread and then you would like carve out you’d make a bread bowl. You’d like carve out the middle of it and then cut that bread up into little pieces and then use that to dip with and then fill up the hole with this spinach and artich choke dip. Man, I could eat two pounds of that a day. I can just sit there all day and I did on holidays or whatever just parking that stuff. And I can’t find something like that out here, right? So there you go. There’s an example. That’s the kind of food I miss. All right, that’s Dylan Carlson. Look at him with that dirty uniform. Why? He’s got a hit tonight. And he looks at one low for ball one. Folks, could this be the beginning of Carlson going 12 for his next 12? Let’s tune in and find out. How are you calling that a strike? Why don’t you wake up and smell what you shoveling? This dude just broke an O for 36. And you’re going to do him like that? That pitch is way outside. Blue Carlson strokes it into right. Oh, it’s right at the right fielder. Piss off. Get the beag. Not the beast. My eyes. [Music] BW might have uh lost his composure for a moment. Here’s Greg Allen. He takes a strike. Just give him every borderline pitch. Blue borderline inch off two inches off. Hey, you want two inches off? Come over here. I’ll circumcise you, you bum. Wait a minute. No, two inches off for you. That would be the whole thing. What am I talking about? [Laughter] Bum. Allen takes a pitch in the dirt. It’s a ball and two strikes. Friday we go to Houston for three. Monday we’ll be in Boston for two. after this uh three-game home uh three-game series at home. Allen fouls it away. It is a ball and two strikes. Mean umpires, folks. Oil, oil, and vinegar. The one two swung on a miss. Down goes Allen. He’s over for his oral career. But Dylan Beavers, you know, who could have been here now for two weeks. Two weeks just about, could have already gotten settled in. Jackson Holiday looks at one outside for ball one. Oh, but BW, you don’t understand what it’s like to be a GM. You don’t understand what it means to build a team. You know, I’m not as much interested in building the best looking team on paper as I am building the team that wins a pennant for the first time in 43 years. That’s the team I’m trying to build. Holiday opposite field. Base hit in the left. A two out knock for Jackson. Let’s go. Tying run on. Jackson steal a base. I know I sound crazy. You know how much you’ve driven me up the wall with your base running acumen. I don’t care. For some reason, I want you to run here. Come on, Jackson. [Music] Do I like puppies? Not right now. [Laughter] And puppies are fine. What am I supposed to say? Who Who the hell would answer no to the if they like puppies? It’s a foul tip to Westber. Even if you really thought the answer was no, if you’re speaking into a microphone to an audience, I don’t think it would be wise to answer no. I don’t like puppies. So either way, I’m going to say yes. [Laughter] 0 and2 on Westber. Well, West is that way. Two down. Holiday at first. He didn’t try to steal yet. For some odd reason, I I want him to try. That pitch is high. One ball, two strikes. Naylor is not even really holding him on. That’s the thing. He’s playing off the bag is Naylor. Too many puppies. Lost puppies are so sad. All right. What do you want me to play a Sarah McGlaughlin song now? In the arms of an angel, fly away. [Music] Call now in the arms of an angel. We need your help. For less than the price of a mocha latte, swing and a miss. Westberg strikes out and the inning is over. George Kirby with six very impressive innings. Three hits from the Orioles. Two left on. We go to the seventh inning. One- nothing Seattle. Lost puppies are so sad. What other hot takes you got there, Daniel? Are you anti- landmines? What else? [Laughter] Sorry, Daniel. I’m picking on you for fun. I love when they lick you, especially when you’re feeling Okay. Well, I could say that about Well, I won’t say that. I don’t know. Froggy, I got a response to this one. What are the chat rules? I mean, I’ve I’ve got the perfect response to this. [Laughter] Who are you? Who are you? Do I have a dog? What in this race? [Laughter] Why do I feel like I’m being asked the kind of questions Kirk Cameron was asked like in those 80s like teeny bop magazines? So Kirk, do you have a dog? What’s his name? Well, I do. Uh, his name’s Slappy. Uh, I don’t have a dog. I don’t need a dog. I got street dogs. I live in Thailand. They They roam around and they get to freely do whatever the hell they want. I do whatever I want. And then occasionally we’ll uh have an interaction and then we go back to our own business. That’s me having a dog. I’m really not a My dad was a veterinarian. I’m really not a fan of keeping domesticated pets and probably part of it is due to a bit of trauma with the one that I had. I did have a cat in my 20s into right up until I hit about 30 something and it passed away and uh you know I wasn’t really happy with that whole process and plus my cat when I had it during its whole life all it ever wanted to do was be outside and I accommodated the cat. Uh, if an animal wants to be outside, you got to let I don’t know. I just I don’t want to keep an animal in if they want to be out. Some animals love being inside. Uh, one ball, one strike. Uh, to Julio Rodriguez. Swung on a miss. One and two to the count. I meant a pet, not an object. What am I talking about? I’m talking about a cat. What am I talking about? A shoe box? What? What do you mean an object? What was I talking about? I’m sitting here trying to answer this silly question and missing calling the game and now you’re telling me I’m sitting here uh whatever. I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know. I hope you’ve got enough answers for the for the magazine article. Uh, two and two the count on Julio Rodriguez. That’s a called strike three. Nice pitch from Dino. He’s in his seventh inning, folks. Sit down. [Music] Well, y’all come back now. You here? I got I’m I’m good on friends. fluffy, non fluffy, all shapes, sizes, textures. That all that’s all fine. Uh Josh Naylor up with one down. Looks pitch outside ball one. Excuse me. I hope that didn’t get picked up too much on the mic. Naylor’s one for two. fouled away. One ball, one strike. Anybody in the mood to see the Orioles score a run today? Anybody? Show of hands. Maybe I’ll make a poll. Excuse me. Would you enjoy seeing your beloved Baltimore Orioles score one run today there? Two-1 pitch to Naylor outside three and one. Now we’re having participation, audience participation, folks. Three and one the count on Naylor and the pitch outside. That is No, he called that a strike. All right, we got one back. That’s the worst call of the night to go against the Mariners. That was How How do you miss that? That was so bad. How do you miss? I don’t get like I swear some umpires, they just guessed the whole night. They’re just up there guessing. Payoff pitch to Naylor. Swing and a miss. All right, with a little help from the ump, Kramer comes back to strike out Naylor. Two down. Well, y’all come back now, you hear? Well, y’all come back now, you hear? Uh, what’s this? What’s this fascination about me needing a pet? First of all, At any given time in my apartment, I might have a gecko. So, that’s a pet. Suarez goes after the first pitch, hits it into center field. Allen is there to make the catch and the inning is over. Folks, Dean Kramer, seven innings, oneun ball, just four hits, one walk, or no, did he walk a second guy there? Nope, just the one walk. 86 pitches. He could go eight innings. 86 pitches. Unbelievable. All right, folks. It is seventh inning stretch time here at the ballpark. Do you know what that means? Do you know what that means? It’s time to throw some cakes on the griddle. Get them cakes up in the chat, folks. If you don’t like my ideas, I will go somewhere else. Okay, Daniel, if you want to threaten like that, feel free to go. I mean, you might be joking, but man, it doesn’t read like that. Thank god I’m a country boy. Good grief. I was trying to entertain. I literally gave you full attention at the expense of calling the ball game, but because somebody doesn’t like an idea, you’re threatening us with leaving. Then do it. Thank God I’m a country boy. Matter of fact, I can make it easier on your No, don’t put bacon emojis in after a comment like that. What are you on about, buddy? Thank god I’m a country boy. Is it bacon time or is it time for you to address that last comment? Where are you at, buddy? Here’s a ball hit towards second. Oh, you had to remove him the other day. Hey, Daniel, guess what? You’ve already built up a reputation. So, that’s it. We’re done. Bye. Thank God. And always remember, your final contribution was a series of bacon emojis. All right. See you. [Music] Adley Rutman pops it up to short. JP Crawford is there a couple steps onto the outfield grass to make the catch. That’s a second out in the seventh already. I’m sorry. I completely missed the previous batter, which is extra bad because the previous batter was Gunner Henderson. He grounded out to second. I totally missed an entire Gunner at bat. Mount Castle takes a strike and that pitch was 2 in outside. George Kirby is up to 85 pitches. He has been uh nothing short of fantastic. And the Orio batters really aren’t doing a whole lot to try and solve him. They seemingly are just going up there just getting schooled at the plate. It’s 0 and2 now in Mount Castle. There’s a righty and a lefty up in the Seattle pin. Gabe Spire and uh Bazardo. Spire the lefty. Bazardo the righty. Swinging a miss and there goes Mounty 97 on the outside edge. Kirby with maybe his easiest inning of work yet. He just absolutely carved through Gunner Adley and Mount Castle in his seventh inning of work like it was nothing. Like it was nothing. Imagine having a pitcher this dominant in your rotation, folks. That’s all we want. I just want one of these Mariner pitchers. I mean, we’re going to see Logan Gilbert tomorrow. They got this guy Brian Woo. He’s fantastic. The veteran of the group, Luis Castillo. Maybe not the most attractive um considering the age and the salary he’s on, but uh still a very good part of this rotation as well. Very very jealous of the Mariners starting pitching. I can’t imagine as a fan turning on a Mariner game and 80% of the time you’re guaranteed to be watching a pitcher that is not only like better than average but like really really good and it’s just a matter of whether or not the offense is going to score a few runs. I would love to have, but the sad thing is lately that’s kind of been the case for the Orioles. We may not have these established arms, but Trevor Rogers, Dean Kramer, uh, to some extent, um, Kate Povich, his last time out, putting up some nice starts. Not getting a whole lot of wins out of them, though. Dr. Tim Tutin’s stuff the bus school supplies drive. Brutin Tim Tutin. All right, Kramer is out here for inning number eight, guys. And a curveball to start things off for a strike. Just the third time Kramer’s ever gone into the eighth inning. Another curveball stroked out to right. That ball is going to be caught. A little hop up against the wall there out in right field by Ryan Nota. Folks, how many times do I have to beat this dead horse? Ryan Nota has got a few things he can offer you. He’s not really an outfielder, but he may not make it look pretty. It might be a little bit uh might be a little bit of a heart attack out there, but he he he’s handling himself out there. Here’s Dominic Canzone. There’s a called strike. And if we can only get not to start drawing walks, I’m telling you, that’s the key to this guy. He could really help this team out more than just down the stretch this season if he can find that plate discipline that led him to 77 walks his rookie season. Dominic can zone with a 1-1 count. Fouls it away. One and two. That’s right, folks. Listen to Matt. Spread the word. Spread the word about the Oral Bird Watcher channel. That is Here’s a ground ball up the middle. Gunner playing near the bag. He’s got it. Spins, throws, and gets can zone. Hey, Gaboo. Huh? Why don’t you go take a seat over there, Dominic? Huh? Yeah. Try the can zone. It’s fantastic. Hey, who ate all the freaking canone over here? Huh? Here’s JP Crawford. Kramer’s on 92 pitches, one out away from eight innings complete. Fouled back. It is 0 and one. Carl checking in with a Mullins update. An RBI single for the Mets. I would hope it’s for the Mets. Actually, I I would hope it’s for the Orioles, but oh well. 01 pitch high to Crawford. One and one the count. We’re in the top of the eighth, folks. I think it’s time for OBW to have one more lucky as Garcia, is that Rico Garcia? Is that’s his first name? Looking like Garcia is going to make his oral debut here. to eventually be the guy to replace Dean Kramer. Two and one the count on Crawford. Two down, nobody on in the eighth. Pitch number 96 on the night. Called a strike. It’s two and two. Good spot there from Kramer. Come on, buddy. Where? Let’s see where that erra is right now. It is at 4.18 and it will go down a little bit more with this final out. That is high full count. Full count on JP Crawford. Base is empty. Two down. Top of the eighth. Here comes the payoff pitch. That one is going to be an inside out swing and it’ll get down in front of the center fielder for a base hit. Tough break there for Dino. Crawford is aboard and let’s see how much longer they stick with Kramer out here. It’s the number nine batter do up next. So, it’ll be a visit from Drew French. And this looks like your typical recipe of a French visit. If you get this guy out, fine. Inning over. Your night’s done. But if you don’t, once you’ve seen me, the next guy you’ll see is Manelino with the top of the order do up next. So, Kramer against Cole Young who’s 0 for two. Mound meeting over. Hey, Rhino’s here, folks. When am I going to do a Twin Cast as soon as I become a fan of the Minnesota Twins, but uh I don’t see that happening. Mods are great here. In fact, the entire chat is nothing but mods at the moment. Folks, if you’re a non-Mod, you better try to get a word in edgewise. Swing and a miss by Young. Strike one. Kramer trying to empty the tank here. Try to get this. There you go. There’s a nonmod. How you doing? 0 and one. Pitch bow back 0 and two. All right, Dino. One more strike. Get through eight freaking innings. He’s on a 100 pitches right now. Come on, folks. [Music] The O2 runner at first. Two down. One- nothing Mariners in the top of the eighth. And a check on that runner. Hey folks, if I’ve said it once, I will say to gain, please check out Rising Rhino’s YouTube channel. Okay, just type in Rising Rhino. If you can click on his name and it offers you a way to get there that way, that’s good, too. O2 pitch. Swung on and missed. The splitter from Dino Camden Yards. Get on your feet. Give this man a standing O. Give him a standing O. Eight innings, oneun ball. Dean Kramer got that erra down to 4.17. Eight innings, six strikeouts, including the final battery faced. We go to the bottom of the eighth. Can we get one freaking run, [Music] folks? What did I say back in like the third inning? I’m like, we just we got to get Kirby out of the game. We got to keep Kirby We got to get Kirby out of the game and we got to keep the Mariners from scoring more than the one. As soon as they got that run, I’m like, “All right, well, there’s only one way to come back from this. This ain’t your typical one-run deficit.” I told you we got to get Kirby out of here. And they will. Kirby’s night is over on 87 pitches, folks. Edward Bazardo, the right-hander, is gonna come on for the Mariners, folks. Now, Bazardo, he might retire the Orioles one, two, three coming up. I don’t know. But anything is a better chance, I feel, than Kirby back out there just on 87 pitches. So, we should be feeling good about this. Bazardo’s erra is 2.87, a whip of 1.06. Opponents hitting 182 off of them. So, the numbers are quite good, but he’s no George Kirby. And uh we knew Kirby was on. Bazardo may not be on. Only one way to find out. We got six outs to play with. We’re down a run. Bottom of the eighth. Getting started. Kobe Mayo at the plate. And he takes low and away for ball one. And immediately, immediately you feel better. Just get it all on there. Just spread it out. George Kirby’s not wasting a first pitch that far off the plate for ball one all night long. And here, one pitch in. Bazardo has done that. All right, that’s a pretty nasty slider for strike one on the outside edge. Mayo is 0 for two. Popped it up. Got a sinker. Could not square it up. It’ll be a shallow popup to right. Mayo retired. One away. Can zone on the catch. Here comes Ryan Nota. He’s 0 for two. I’m really pulling for Ryan Nota to do something right here. I really am. And if he does, folks, then you know BW is on to something. Takes a first pitch slider for a strike. Bazardo slider doesn’t move like your standard slider. Kind of looks more like a Oh, look at that. That’s a base hit into center field on a sinker that was moving away from Nota. Moving down and away. He was able to adjust and pull that ball or line that ball up to hit it into center field. So there you go, folks. I’d probably pinch run for him here. We definitely if there’s one thing we have on our bench that’s a weapon is somebody with better speed than not. We’re not going to pinch run. We’re not going to pinch run. We may not get another guy on base for the remainder of the ball game. It’s a one-run game. Carlson’s at the plate. No pinch runner. No Jeremiah Jackson running here. They check on Nota. I guess they think he can run. I mean, Not’s probably not even going to come up to hit again. What? Plus, he’d get a upgrade on Well, I don’t know if Jackson’s an upgrade on the outfield. More more range, less experience. Dylan Carlson has a count of one and one. I don’t know what’s going on, folks. Runner at first, one out. Carlson finally broke his duck with a hit in this ball game. He takes that one right in there for strike two. Come on, Dylan. [Music] I haven’t checked the scoreboard. Is it still stuck? Oh, I Oh, it’s been on me this whole time. I’m sorry. Hold on. Let me get this ready to go. The one two is fouled back to the screen. Still a ball and two strikes on Carlson. You can see the sun is starting to really make its way in over here. Carlson hits it toward the left field corner and slicing into the crowd. Foul. Still a ball in two strikes. Still don’t get why. Let me look at this roster here. I’ll tell you who’s faster than Nota. I mean, obviously Jeremiah Jackson comes right to your mind. He’s been playing right field. Swing and a miss. Carlson strikes out. You got the newly added uh Oh, wait a minute. Yeah, you got Jeremiah Jackson. You got Daniel Johnson who’s just been added to the team. I don’t know if he’s physically there or not. I guess he’s not there. But yeah, I would I would have pinch hit Jer pinch run Jeremiah Jackson for Nota. Uh the Mariners are making a pitching change with two down. That’s it for Bazardo. They’re going to go to the lefty spire now. I feel uh as the Orioles will be sending up uh the top of the order. Or is it Allen coming up next? Allen do up next. They bring in the lefty. So pinch hit Jeremiah Jackson here. If you’re not going to pinch run with him, pinch hit him here. Right-hander. Bring him in to hit for uh for Greg Allen. He can move Carlson. It’s going to be a mess of an outfield, but refresh my game. Oh, yeah. I did that already. Thanks, Janet. Thanks, Card. Yeah, I did that like 20 minutes ago. I thought I’d said so, but maybe you didn’t hear. That’s okay. All taken care of. I do need to uh get this sunlight out of the way, though. So, I will be right back, folks. Can we score a run, please? Lefty Gabe Spire making his 54th appearance of the season. He’s got a 2.22 ERA in a whip under one. More good numbers out of the Seattle pin. Anywhere near 100 likes, folks. We’re at 85. We’ve got people here, folks. It’s late in the ball game. 140 plus people watching right now. If you don’t mind hitting that like button, we’ve got the numbers here to get that number up to 100. And there he is, as I was hoping. Jeremiah Jackson up to pinch hit for Greg Allen. Now, it’s going to be a pretty ugly looking outfield without additional changes. If going into the next inning, it’ll be Jackson in one corner, the outfield, and Noah in the other. Carlson will move to center field. All right, here we go. Spire versus Jackson and he hits the first pitch he sees right at the center fielder. One pitch for the third out of the inning. Julio Rodriguez makes the catch and that’s it. We go to the ninth. Well, that did not work. Ninth inning coming up. It’s the Mariners one and the Orioles nothing. Folks, once again, we are in a commercial break. It could possibly be just a few minutes left in the broadcast. If you’re here, thanks for being here. I hope you give the channel a chance uh for future broadcast. This is an Orioles channel dedicated to covering live playbyplay uh for every ball game and it’s free free content. Uh so please think about subscribing. It’ll make it easier for you to find the channel. You just hit the button at the below uh below your screen says subscribe. Uh there’s no commitment, no obligation, and no salesman will visit your home. folks in the Charm City chat here. What do you think? For those watching right now, is this uh a channel that you sign off on for subscribing? It hasn’t hurt you, right? It’s only been good things. All right. Appreciate it, folks. We are into the 90s with the likes. Trying to make one final push toward 100. I appreciate it. It’ll be the top of the ninth. One last chance for Seattle to add on to their lead. Looks like the top of the order due up. And looks like the Orioles are going to get their debut from Rico Garcia, a right-hander who was claimed off of waiverss after he was DFAD by the Mets about a week or so ago. He’s 31 years old. He’s out of Honolulu, Hawaii, and with the Mets on the season, a 3.52 ERA with a 911 whip. I mean, these aren’t bad numbers. He is just a casualty of the loading up of deadline players. This is the benefit that can happen, folks. If you’re a seller and other teams are buyers, the buyers typically have to make a cut or two to some players that otherwise would still be on the roster. Guys out of options, guys like the guy on the mound right now, Rico Garcia. He’s facing Randy Arosa Reena. And after a first pitch strike, this one’s up and away. Ball one. Garcia was also with the Yankees for a cup of coffee, I guess. Swinging a miss. There is a slider. One and two. All right. Rico, folks, I hope this guy is good because I want very much to be able to do my Rico Suave uh bit. I will definitely put Rico Suave into the soundboard if Rico Garcia works out for us. Two and two the count on a Rosarena. This ball’s fouled back. Erlico Suave Arosa is one for three. Let off the ball game with a base hit. Came around to score. The only run of the damn game. Let me make sure of this. Is this another game where the only thing that happened was in the first inning and it’s just Yeah. Imagine this folks. When you come to an oral game, the opposing team scores in the top of the first. You’re five minutes late. You go to the concession stand to grab like one snack. You sit down. It’s one- nothing Mariners. Here’s a ground ball to third. Nicely played by Westber over to first in time to retire a Rosarena. One down, top of the ninth. You make your way out to the ballpark. You go through the whole parking thing. You navigate your way to your seat. You sit down. It’s one- nothing Mariners. And then you sit there for another two hours or so. And you leave with it still being one- nothing Mariners. I mean that I’ve been to a game like that. It’s the worst. You just want to see something happen. Here is Cal Raleigh. He looks at a curveball low. Rley’s been held in check 0 for three. 45 homers and 98 RBI on the season. We are not even to the middle of August. Make it 2 and 0. This is a dangerous count to try to groove one in there. There’s some weird howling noises being screamed out by somebody in the ballpark. 20 pitch is fouled away. Hey, that’s a silver lining. Chubacabra coming in. If the score is low, it means better odds of a walk-off win in the bottom of the ninth. Raleigh pops it up shallow right. Holiday with his Wow. Jackson bobbles this catch, but he hangs on. Way too lacadasical. Uh, Holiday going with his back toward the infield when he really had time to kind of Oh my, he almost screwed that up. He just very casually just running back. I mean, he had time if he sprinted to get to the spot, turn around, and just make the catch. That would have been the right way to play that. He got away with it. He makes the catch. There’s two down in the ninth. Here’s Julio Rodriguez. Somebody is making strange like exotic animal noises in the ballpark right now, folks. I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know if you’re watching along with me and can hear it, but it sounds like there is a large cat in heat in the ballpark. What is that noise? Uh, one and two on Julio Rodriguez. Two down, nobody on top of the ninth. It’s been one- nothing since I don’t know uh since the very beginning. One, two pitch. Wow, that ball is hit really, really hard. Straight back up the middle. And Garcia’s lucky that ball didn’t bean him right in the small of the back. That ball might have broken him in the spine if he didn’t get out of the way of that. Look out. A rocket up the middle for a base hit. Josh Naylor coming up next. Two down. Drew French is out to talk to Garcia. It’s the wounded souls of diehard O fans crying out. H I think Michael might have the best theory of anybody. Everybody’s feeling a ninth inning walk-off. Okay, I’m down. There’s got to be something to it, folks. There hasn’t been a whole lot of reason for optimism. And yet, I’m starting to What? Who’s making these crazy noises? Is Is there no like usher checking on the source of this? I mean, somebody is filling up the entire ballpark with the sound of their screams. That’s insane. Uh, first pitch strike to Naylor. I mean, are they using a like a megaphone? It’s Melan Newman. What is she in the tunnel right now? Melanie, get out of the tunnel. Now’s not the time. It’s a one-run ball game. Come on. Show some professionalism. [Laughter] Well, I guess that would explain the wet hair look. [Laughter] This ball’s hit to left in the corner and foul near the foul pole, but about 20 feet to the foul side. There’s a lady with a souvenir. She’s happy. One and two the count. Naylor. He asks for time. Two down, runner at first. We’re in the top of the ninth. The Mariners have the same one- nothing lead they’ve had since the top of the first. Is this the newest giveaway at the ballpark? If you’re sitting in section 27, row 12, uh, two pitch or sorry, I guess it was a two one a one two pitch that made it two and two. Forgive me, I’m running on fumes. Here’s the two two to Naylor now and it’s fouled away. Patrick said Jug’s gun. Two and two the count. There goes Na. There goes the runner. Naylor fouls it away. Ah, folks. You know what, Jen? I think you’re giving too much credit. I think they’re average to maybe slightly above average or slightly above normal sized poops. Big just just just big alone really makes them sound like they’re really [Music] Yeah, they’re there. There’s a handful, I guess. I don’t know. Two and two the count on Naylor. Can we please? Yeah, but I’m saying not excessively larger than average. I don’t think so. Not for her body type. I mean, if she had the body type of a, you know, Shelley Duval, then uh yeah, it might be a little different story. Two- two pitch popped up. Shallow left. Carlson makes the catch. We’re going to the bottom ninth, folks. We’re just going to have to talk about boobs without talking about sex. As we go to the bottom of the ninth, I think they’re real. If they’re not, then really not. Kind of a waste of money in my opinion. But I don’t know. This is, you know, maybe I should not talk so much about Hey, we’re going to the bottom of the ninth. Uh, Melany’s fine. We tease. We tease. We tease. What are you going to do? Melanie going to Melanie? What are you going to do? I mean, look, that that thing she did with the with the sunglasses, talking about how she collects pens at hotels, a little bit cringe. A little bit cringe. Hey, what do you guys say we walk this? Um, sorry. If there’s anybody with kids present, tell them to leave the room. I’ll give you 10 seconds. All right. Who’s ready to walk this [ __ ] off? [Music] Who’s ready to walk this [ __ ] off? And yeah, I broke the rule. So that means if you want to say the sword for the remainder of the ball game, go ahead. You’re allowed because I did. And if I didn’t allow you to at this point, then I’d be a hypocrite, wouldn’t I? All right, Andre Munoz, the closer. This is what we got to deal with. a 1.37 erra, a 98 whip. Opponents hitting 147. He’s only given up two home run balls on the season. That is the challenge. So that is why this oneun lead that has always been a one-run deficit all game long feels a lot bigger than it is. First pitch swinging Jackson Holiday waves at a slider and misses 0 and1. [Music] Everybody’s enamored by poop. That one’s a good foot outside. One and one on Jackson. That’s right. I’m saying for the word that rhymes with split, go for it. Here’s a comebacker to the pitcher. Munoz flips it to first to Naylor. One down. It’s Westber and Gunner. Those are the two bullets left in the chamber for the Orioles. Westberg’s 0 for three. He did fly out deep to right center earlier in the ball game. We need a miracle. All I need is a miracle. All I need is you. All I need is a miracle. Hello, ball one. Hey, ball one gets a bugle. [Music] The bats are dead tonight. Swinging a miss slider. Nasty. I mean, it winds up in a hitable spot, but it’s moving pretty filthy. One ball, one strike. This one’s hit on the third base side. Foul. Two strikes on Westber. I’m I’m hooked on a beaver. I can’t believe her. Swing and a miss. Westberg strikes out. It comes down to a guy named Gunnar. His name’s Gunner and he’s dating my mom. Guns in the Charm City chat. If you don’t mind, folks, we are three likes away from hitting 100. Three of you out there. If you haven’t hit the like button, have a heart. There’s well over a 100 people here. We’ve got the numbers. This game could be moments away from ending. Maybe get a 100 likes and we get a Gunner game tying homer. How’s that sound? First pitch is outside the gunner ball one, folks. Two more likes [Music] and now we’re over a hundred. Thank you so much. Now it’s time to tie it up. The pitch make it ball three. 3 and 0 to Gunner. [Music] Adley would come up next. Ball four. Take your base. [Music] I’m walking here. I’m walking here. Respect. Respect shown by Munoz to Gunner. He did not want to let Gunner be the guy to tie up the ball game. He would rather take his chances with the tying run on to go after Adley. Adley, make him pay. Let the clutch out gently. Okay, come on, [Music] Folks. I forgot I’ve been off camera here for a sec. How you doing? This is BW here and this is the Bird Watcher channel. If you’re just tuning in and finding the channel, I’m glad you found it. This is a channel dedicated to live coverage of Orioles baseball every single game. In fact, we’re a couple of weeks away from calling my third 300th game in a row. So, if you want a place to depend on and a place that has a great community, the charm city chat here, think about subscribing to the channel. We’ve got a mound meeting right now. Andreas Munoz might have some kind of uh injury situation. He is just standing around with the baseball. I don’t know what the deal is. It’s not a situation where he’s throwing warm-up pitches to see if his arm’s okay. Is it like his Oh, is he dehydrated? I guess the trainer has come out with some water and some kind of some kind of uh nutrients here to hopefully get Munoz from not fainting or something. Uh, we got two outs here in the bottom of the ninth, folks. Adley Rutman is due up. And what kind of factor will this delay play into this final moment of the ball game? Is this going to help Muno? Is this going to hurt Muno? Is this going to help Adley? Is this hurting Adley? I don’t know. But this is a little bit weird. It’s a long delay at a critical moment in the ball game. The oral crowd is starting to get henry wondering at what point is a guy allowed to just wait until he feels better or do you need to just make a move and take him out? All right, all of this is over. trainer, manager, umpire, catcher. Everybody going back to their spots. Here we go, folks. Adley Rutman with two down in the ninth, representing the winning run at the plate. A reminder, the Orioles the only team in all of baseball without a walk-off win this season. Anybody in the mood to get it now? First pitch is a strike at the bottom of the zone. Well, I guess Munoz is okay now. I’m glad we gave him the time to get healthy and rested, have a bite to eat so that he can more effectively get the final out of the game. Hit on the ground. Base hit into left field. This game is not over. Gunner will have to stop at second. The tying run is now a base hit away. The winning run is on as well at first. Ryan Mount Castle, the man for the moment. Okay, mount up, folks. Folks, we’ve been patiently waiting all night long for something to happen. [Music] Come on, Mounty. Crowd is making noise. They’re hungry. The pitch swinging a miss. There is that slider breaking low and away. Mount Castle’s most hated pitch. Muno Sahedo and one. The next offering. That one’s crushed, but it’s going to hook. It’s going to hook. It’s a foul ball, folks. Mounty missed. Walking it off just a little bit early on the pitch. Oh my. had everything a home run swing needed except a little bit of timing. And now we’re down to our final strike. The O2. He lays off that outside pitch. Don’t you dare appeal and say he went. One ball, two strikes. Come on, Charm City chat. [Music] the one two. He got another pitch outside. Luckily, it was a straight one, a fast ball. Able to reach it and foul it back to stay alive. If Munoz goes back out there with a slider right now, Mount Castle is cooked. anything but that slider break and low and away please. The one two in on the hands. It’s hit to short and that’ll be the ball game. Crawford throws out Mount Castle and the game is over. The Mariners score one run in the first inning. First batter, Arosa Arena, reached on a single. He stole a base. He came around to score on an RBI by Josh Naylor. And that is all they needed for the rest of the freaking night. Mariners won, Orioles nothing. The Mariners had six hits, the Orioles had five. Seattle left three men on base, the Orioles left five. Ugly. Oh my. I mean, what do you say, folks? I mean, another great pitching performance. Abs. Hold on. Melanie Newman’s kind of got a nice top on tonight. Hold on. All right, Janet, I take it back. Those could be a solid D. I thought maybe she was rocking a C. I don’t know. Kramer goes eight innings, five hits, one walk, six strikeouts. He was fantastic. Garcia in his Orioles debut didn’t look too shabby either. One inning of work, he did give up a hit, but that’s it. He’s got a 331 erra as is on the season. Not a bad guy to have in this bullpen. I mean, I would immediately uh elevate him in the pecking order of this current bullpen. This guy might be a good high leverage guy to use down the stretch. Ryan Nota had a base hit tonight. Base hits from Holiday Gunner and Adley and Dylan Carlson. Oh boy. I mean, folks, Carlson got a hit. I mean, is that the headline? If you’re picking up tomorrow’s copy of The Sun in the uh get to the sports section, is that the headline? Carlson got a hit. Five hits. One of them was a double for Gunner. Everything else is single. And uh yeah, what are you going to do? Kirby with the win. He goes to 8 and5. Kramer with the loss. He now drops below 500. A record of eight and nine. That was the one thing Kramer had going for him was that he was he had a decent pitching record. Now it’s a losing record. Eight and nine on the season for Kramer. Munoz with a 28th save. Uh wow. Gabe Spire got a hold after throwing one pitch. A one pitch outing for Spire. Uh Mariners are now 67 and 53. The Orioles are back to 13 games below 500. Uh at this stage, I would say finishing at 500 is looking rather impossible. What do we got to do? You got to go 28 and 15 down the stretch. You got to win basically two out of three down the stretch just to break even at 500 folks. It’s looking like a losing season. It’s looking like a losing season. I think that leaves pretty much by the way attendance today just under 20,000. I thought it might be right on right on 20. 19,300 and change. Time of the game just 2 hours and 28 minutes. Uh yeah. Um I think the next uh goal if you’re a fan is to just not finish last place in the East. We are currently now, unfortunately, we’ve lost a couple of games on the Rays. We were just a couple of games behind Tampa couple of days ago, but uh we are now four and a half behind fourth place in our own division. So, there’s my final goal of the season in terms of doing something uh to give this team some motivation. We don’t want to finish in last place. I don’t want to finish in last place. Uh, right. Game two of this series is coming up tomorrow. Damn it, Melanie. I’m liking that canary yellow top. Normally I’m I’m ragging on you, but now I understand why all those noises were being made a little while ago. Okay. All right, Melanie, you’re distracting me. Stop it. I’ll show you my dimples. Okay, then we’ll see who’s distracting who. Uh, right. So, hey, only for a brief moment. It’s It’s not easy when when you got a set of honkers plus an Oreo bird right there. I mean, it’s like having peanut butter and jelly next to each other. What? You’re not supposed to make a sandwich out of that? [Laughter] All right. Oh, Jim Palmer is going to handle the postgame by himself. Why do they do this to him? Why do they do this to him? [Laughter] Yeah, I admit it. And I’m I’m a lot like a cat. Uh I only move when I’m in the mood. I’ll let people pet me only if I’m in the mood. Uh, somebody else has got to clean up my Okay, maybe I should stop. Hey, I got to get out of here. This game, despite it being relatively short, has left me feeling despondent. And this is a brand new week, sort of. I mean, it’s already uh what? Wednesday here. It’s It’s Wednesday here. What am I talking about? Um yeah. Let me see if there’s somewhere I can send you folks. Anybody got anything they want to talk? I mean, what are we doing? What are we even doing? Can’t score one run. JJ’s calling a game. So’s Fitzy. Let me see where they are in their I never even looked at the out of town scores tonight. JJ’s game’s about to end. It’s already top of the ninth and the Phillies are down big, so I think it’s best to skip there. Meanwhile, it’s only uh the end of three innings, Red Sox and Astros, and we go to Houston next. So, I think that makes sense. If you want a little peek at our next opponent, well, Thomas Fitzpatrick, who sounds like this. Sorry, Charm City chat. Sorry. Annie up and kick in like men. Like men. That’d be nice. I’d love to see the Orioles Annie up and kick in like men, but uh tonight not a whole lot to hang our hats on, folks, except uh the pitching. Uh, the pitching’s been great. Best pitching we get all year happens to coincide with a team that cannot score any runs. Thank you, Janet. And thanks to everybody in the Charm City chat. Big thanks to the mods for helping keeping the chat nice and charming. We had to flush somebody out tonight. I had to flush somebody else out somewhere else. Uh, yeah. But, uh, all for the greater good. We’ll be back on tomorrow night. Same start time as tonight, 6:20 p.m. Eastern. Uh, we will be on the air right here. Come on in and let’s let’s Come on. It’s It’s uh It’s It’s It’s Trevor Rogers. I think that’s really the only thing I can sell you on. Trevor Rogers. I know you just watched a game where we couldn’t score a single run. So, what does it matter if it’s vintage Sandy Kofax on the mound tomorrow? If we can’t score, I’m I got to give you something, folks. I got to give you some some motivation, some inspiration to want to return. Trevor Rogers has been pitching like an ace. It’s been a while since we’ve watched somebody in our rotation go out there every fifth game and pitch lights out. I’m enjoying it while it’s happening and I’m gonna enjoy it again tomorrow. Offense be damned. Maybe we’ll score a run or two. I don’t know. But uh I want to see Rogers go out there and cook. All right. So, if you’re interested in watching a pitcher cook, come on back tomorrow night for game two of this series. I guarantee you, we’ll at least match the offensive output we’ve done tonight. We’ll at least match it. If not, we might even do more. All right, I better get out of here before the color here gets even stranger. I’m starting to look like a some kind of a nightmare fuel over here. Have a good one, everybody. Sending over to Thomas Fitzpatrick until tomorrow night. This has been the bird watcher and the hat and we will chirp at you later.

Anyone who gets mad over any of those pitchers being shut down is crazy. Honestly I think Bradish and Wells shouldn’t be pitching any MLB games this year
