* When you think an Astro is about to hit a home run, comment ‘HRC [Astro]’.
* If you get it right on that plate appearance, you get a point and another go! Otherwise, wait until tomorrow.
* I’ll monitor successful picks and publish the leaderboard in the GDT before first pitch every day. Let me know if you think I’ve missed you, or if you have any other questions.
I’m happy to count HRCs on the live game chat on [Discord](https://discord.gg/astros) as well, but please stick to the one HRC per game rule regardless of platform (if your username on there isn’t the same as on Reddit I might have to PM you to get it).

Just have to win out from here. Surely the Mariners are due to cool off right?

I’m planning on just watching these games and having fun with it. No stress baseball because I’m going in with no expectations, if we make wildcard, cool. If Mariners shit the bed and we make 2 seed even better. But I’m honestly just looking forward to watching a few games without thinking about the outcome. My mental health will thank me lol
So cruel to end the season with West Coast games.
We’re going up against teams that now have nothing to lose. They will run on pure spite & to ruin our chances of play offs. They WILL swing at everything Javier throws at them.
Just picked up some post season tickets, so we’ll see what the guys pull off. I haven’t felt this pessimistic in damn near a decade. Luckily, ticket prices are extremely reasonable. (Cheaper than some of the big regular season match ups!)
It’s hard to watch this team lately. I’m shocked I haven’t been called on for a noise disturbance.
Like two months ago, somebody in this sub posted a picture of the Mariners’ playoff pennants hanging in their stadium rafters and wrote something snarky like, “Ha ha look how few there are, this is so sad.”
I’m not a superstitious person, but I will say that that post is 100% responsible for the position we’re in right now.
I laid it out in the off day thread yesterday, but 5-1 and we clinch a playoff spot
4-2 could theoretically get us anywhere from the second seed to missing the playoffs altogether.
So let’s win 5 games to be safe.
incoming cy young nod for jeffrey springs
Just don’t feel like we’re playing at World Series level; even if we win these last 2 series on the road and somehow make the playoffs, and even if we found ourselves in the WS, I feel it will go about as well as 2005 did against the Chicago White Sox in our very first WS appearance….we’d get swept.
I am ready to be hurt again. Go Stros
this may be a dumb question, does any scenario have us with wild card games at home?
It comes down to 6 games I guess. Probably 5-1 and we are in 4-2 it’s a toss up and anything less than that and we are out. I’m ambivalent either way because I don’t think this team makes it past the wild card either way. A really disappointing year given expectations going in but a good year based on what the year actually looked like. Please please please hire analytics guys and get new hitting coaches. Look at the mariners after they made changes to their offensive coordination. Everyone is hitting better on their team. My worst fear is that we miss playoffs AND they make 0 changes in the offseason so we have to suffer through this offense again next year. Go stros.
