FULL 11TH INNING: Padres clinch postseason berth with dramatic walk-off win in extras! πŸ”₯

Back in San Diego, tied up four to four. Both teams get a run in the 10th. It’s on to the 11th inning. Brad Glay Rodriguez checks into the game now for San Diego. Well, it’s getting interesting and a hardthrowing right-hander enters this one. Boy, this is a good experience for the kid. Well, he can hold the Brewers and walk away with a victory. Hopefully, it’ll be good things for Brad Gayle. Enters his fifth game. Nice in the four and a third innings of work. Four strikeouts, one walk. opponent’s hitting 143 in the small sample size for the hard throwing righty. So it’ll be Monasterio running at second base. Caleb Durban leads it off in the 11th for Milwaukee. Sharply hit picked by Croninorth. It’s got him hung up between second and third. Monasterio will be out. But moving up to second base in the meantime was Durban. Well, so it’s just a wash. There’s just trading places right there. The ideal situation were to get monasterio before getting to second base. Not the case. Potteries do get an out. Nice play. Wonderful. Saves a run. [Applause] Here’s Ortiz. Ortiz from the nine spot. 0 for four in the game. Hundo in the corner. A hard throwing right-hander into this game in the 11th. A seventh arm used by San Diego in tonight’s game. Ortiz will hit it back, but it’s going to be for me. A little miscommunication. Everybody’s safe. Fine. Wanted it. Rodriguez was kind of in the way. And it’s first and third with one out. [Applause] Just a little number for me does a really good job. He he’s he’s he’s trying to wave him off. Rodriguez Freddy’s always done a good job of feeling his position going out to a ball like that. And by that all everything’s off. Couldn’t find the handle. Pulled a base hit. And here is Yelich. [Applause] season with runners in scoring position. Yelling at 307 runs batted in first and third with one away. Two and 0. And Peralta up in the pen for San Diego. Surio waiting on deck and they’re just going to put him on now. Three and0. I was just going to say I know he’s a right-handed hitter and he’s a really tough hitter, but uh now you got to force anywhere. Righty on righty. Base is loaded with one down. Ruben Dabble headed out. This might be the most we’ve ever seen Ruben Dabble go to the mound in a game. Yeah, a lot of visits. Want to be on the same page. We got a lot going on right here and especially for Rodriguez. Sure, he knows the scouter reports, but always good for a refresher, course. Ruben talking both to Freddy and Bradley. [Applause] working down, working for a grounder. You know what? You got a big league infield behind you. [Music] Let’s go get him. [Music] [Applause] Bases loaded, one out here in the 11th. [Applause] Cheerio 0 for five in the game. Ball one. Almost threw it away. That was your 101. Not competitive. Two and0. Talk about a big pitch right here. Two and0. [Applause] [Music] Bay. There’s a sinker. Hard sinker at a Honda. Two balls and a strike now to Cheerio. down the right field line. Fouled around in the corner. Stevens accounted two and two. Well, with the force anywhere, Aurio has grounded into a dozen this year. Dozen double plays. Accees loaded. One out. Top of the 11th. Tied at four. Full count. Almost threw it away. Terang waits on deck here for Milwaukee. Pitchcom problems. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Payoff pitch with one out bases. is loaded. Cheerio chops one up the middle. Could be two. Touches second. Fires the first. It is two. Out of the bases loaded. Jam with a double play. Going to the bottom of the 11th inning with a chance to walk it off in San Diego. Four to four the score as we head to the bottom of the 11th. Quite the double play there as we take another look at the Mo Casino double play. Big time moment for the kid Rodriguez. He almost got a glove on this, but leave it to Jake to take it himself. Four to three. Luis Arise is fired up. Everybody here at Petco Park fired up. They’re looking for a walk-off right here and now. Grant Anderson takes over. 65th game. More strikeouts than any pitched. He’s got some swing and miss. Jose Glacius. Bottom of the 11th. Right now we got a Brewer backup catcher trapped on the field. Couldn’t get out bullpen catcher stuck on the field. Let’s see if Jose’s first pitch hacking right here. Moving him over. He is squaring. Gets the punt down. Johnson will take third. Sacrifice complete. It’s up for me. Nice job this time keeping it on the ground. Ball is on the ground. Got to go. Moving up. Couple of chances to get him in. Infield in all the way around. Johnson at third for lines it into left center. It’s a walk-off. Johnson’s coming from third. And with that, for the fourth time of the last six seasons, the San Diego Padres’s are headed back to the postseason in 2025. The party is on in San Diego. Yeah. Heat. Don’t you find it just so fitting that a guy they got at the deadline comes through with The big hit. Freddy knows it. Everybody knows it. It’s time to get wet. San Diego, [Applause] pop the corks. [Applause] Padres’s get it done in 11 innings and they have punched their ticket to the postseason. Mike Schil will hug every one of them. [Applause] Boy, this game had it all. Brewers scoring three in the second. Padres’s a one in the first. They had to play catchup. The bullpen was just nails tonight for San Diego. Took everybody. Seven pitchers using this game by the Padres’s. And that’s what Mike Schil told us in spring training. It’s going to take more than 26 guys. It might take 45. It may take 48. Whatever. The arms have been great. The bullpen the best in baseball. It paid off tonight. And it’s time to party. First box checked. Just the beginning hopefully in 2025 for San Diego. [Applause] You said it earlier, they did it in dramatic fashion last year with the triple play at Dodger Stadium. that got him into the postseason and now walkoff win tonight against a very good Milwaukee Birds team team they may see again absolutely right Don it was playoff atmosphere from the get-go Peralta Paveta this crowd was just waiting to erupt what a precious sight that is right there Manny Machado manager Mike Schil you’re right that this is a team effort man true and improve. It’s a grind. Everybody’s beat up. Nick Pava, what a great year he’s been on the mound. Jackson Merrill was hurt. Bouncing back, man. He’s banged up. Had a rough August. Just about getting in though, right, Don? Absolutely. Anything can happen now. Had to get in. That’s the beauty of this game, man. And you know what? You didn’t want to back in. You did not want to have a situation have another team lose and then you get in. You want to do it and you want to do it at home, too, which was even cooler. This is the perfect script. You are absolutely right. You know, these fans have been coming out all year and what a great way to say to the fans, thank you for them witnessing this victory tonight to punch their ticket. Let’s send it down to Bob Scandlin. Don, thank you so much. Mike, last year you guys clinched on a triple play. This year it’s a come from behind walk-off victory. You’d see him having a flare for the dramatic in your clinch games, huh? Yeah, you know, we want uh many more clinch games. You know, we feel like that’s a heck of an accomplishment. you know, we want to enjoy it right now. And really indicative of the season. Guys just fought their tails off the whole game and and that was a playoff game right there. And you know, down and kept going and kept going. Nikki, everybody bullpin. Brady with the big double play ball there. Crony with two great plays in the in the 11th. And you know, we execute on the bunt and then Crony did his part or Verine rather. Yeah. Mike, obviously this isn’t the final destination, but this is an important step to get there. This started eight months ago in spring training. How exciting is it to finally have this clinch moment? Yeah, I mean there’s a lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into that. Congratulations to the whole organization. Fans, you know, everybody’s doing what they did here. The Padre Faithful is unbelievably grateful for you guys. Let’s go. We’re just getting started, everybody. Let’s ride. What’s the paper? [Applause] [Applause]

  2. Congratulations Pads, starting pitching still a concern. The fact that they got back to the postseason considering all the people they lost is huge. Musgrove comes back, and a reliable arm to go with Pivetta, 2026 could be special

  3. Well, it's too late now, we lost too many head-to-head matches this year.Monasterio's baserunning mistake saved us, why did he run there?
The Brewers need to be careful because one mistake like this can easily cost them the postseason.
