For me, it’s a great time to jump on because we got Major League Baseball and WNBA playoffs this week and we’re starting to focus towards week four NFL and week five college football. For the Cincinnati Reds, it’s Brady Singer listed as the starter in this one. While the Pirates will counter with Johan Oedo and Oedo went from a pitcher that was really solid for the Pirates throughout the month of August and even into the early part of September and then got shelled last time out for four runs on five hits, three walks, only had three strikeouts, gave up a pair of home runs against the Chicago Cubs at home. And now he’s got to go to Great American Ballpark where we all know how hitter friendly that ballpark can be. The Cincinnati Reds just swept the Chicago Cubs in their uh in their last series at home. Managed to get four key victories in the wild card race. So that not only like did did they get four key wins, but I mean it helped them pull even with the New York Mets who have been in freef fall for the better part of the second half of the season. And that’s that’s massive for the Cincinnati Reds because now they are tied for the final wildcard spot in the National League. and now you face a Pittsburgh Pirates lineup that is simply playing out the string at this point and more often than not hasn’t necessarily looked interested in playing spoiler. I mean, they did take two or three from the Athletics and that’s all well and good at home, but you know, now they head back out on the road where the Pirates this season are just 23 and 52. Cincinnati Reds, like I said, are playing with some momentum right now. And Brady Singer hasn’t seemed to matter where he’s played, home or away. He’s been really solid for the Cincinnati Reds. A sub two erra across his last seven starts. you know, he’s been fairly decent at uh at Great American this season, a 3.07 erra, and he’s of a rare breed where he’s actually a pitcher that’s pitched better at Great American this season compared to his numbers on the road. An RA well over four away from Cincinnati this season. I just don’t trust this Pittsburgh offense to be able to back up their starting pitchers. We’ve seen it with Paul Skins, even at times. We saw it with Mitch Keller this season. And I think that there there could be a problem here for the uh for the uh for the Pittsburgh Pirates as they go down the stretch. In the last two weeks, the Cincinnati Red’s bullpen has really tightened it up. A 3.27 erra out of the bullpen. The Pittsburgh Pirates do have the better bullpen erra, but again, that hasn’t stopped them from losing baseball games because a lot of time offense continues to be an issue. I think it’s going to be an issue here as well, even at Great American. So, I’m going to roll with the Cincinnati Reds here as the Reds continue their push for the postseason and that’s going to be my free pick.
