It’s a great time to do it because we got Major League Baseball and WNBA playoffs this week. We’ve also got week five college football, week four NFL on the horizon. Between the San Diego Padres’s and the Milwaukee Brewers or the San Diego Padres’s, it’s Randy Vasquez listed as the starter in this one. While Milwaukee Brewers have no starter confirmed at the time this video is being recorded, I went back and looked and last time we saw Freddy Peralta as he’s laid to get the start on Monday and Quinn Pier, who is supposed to get the start on Wednesday, it was sandwiched by a uh a Brandon Woodruff start in the middle there. So, could be Brandon Woodruff, could be a bullpen game. We’ll have to see who gets the nod here. But like I said, what we do know is that Randy Vasquez is getting the nod here for the Padres’s. And Vasquez was not great in his last road start. Uh two and a third innings, gave up four runs on four hits, three strikeouts, gave up a home run in that start. Now, last time he was at home at Petco Park, he went six innings of four hit shutout baseball with dying K’s, but that was against the Colorado Rockies, who have still been one of the weakest lineups in all of baseball this season. So I think that you kind of have to take that with a grain of salt. Now we did see Vasquez go against these Brewers back on June 6th. It was four and two/3 innings of two hit shutout baseball. He did give up four walks in that game and that ended up being a two to nothing victory for the San Diego Padres’s. But I still have my doubts that that Vasquez can do that again because you look at Basquez 4.26 RA across his last seven starts. his his expected numbers are not great. And you’re facing a Brewers lineup that is not just going to tank, I think, the rest of the way. They’re still going to compete. They’re still going to put out some decent lineups in an effort to sort of keep their momentum going. And if you look at the Brewers in the last two weeks against right-handed pitching, this is still a Brewers lineup. It’s hitting 280. Their team OPS numbers are, you know, well above league average, top 10. As a matter of fact, the isolated power numbers could stand to be a little bit better, but I do think they’re going to be able to get to Randy Vasquez for some damage in this game. Now, the Padres’s do have a solid enough lineup in this game that, you know, maybe they can compete here, but I still think that the the Brewers at least get to um get to Vasquez in the first five innings enough to maybe lead through the first five. Then, when the bullpens take over with how good both bullpens have been at times this season, maybe all bets are off at that point. But for me, I think that, like I said, I think that it’s worth taking a look at the Brewers jump on Basquez early here. So, I’m gonna take the Brewers in the first five innings, and that’s going to be my free pick.
