WORST NBA DRAFT PICKS π: Sekou Doumbouya
Back in 2019, the Detroit Pistons picked Seikku Demoa with the 15th overall pick. A 6’8 in forward from France with crazy athleticism and future star potential. He was the youngest player in the draft and people thought Detroit had found their next cornerstone. Seikku showed flashes here and there like a poster dunk on Tristan Thompson and a few scoring bursts, but he was wildly inconsistent. His jumper never came around. His defense slipped and his basketball IQ just didn’t catch up to NBA speed. Instead of breaking out, he kept slipping further and further down the rotation. Seek wasn’t just bad. He became completely unplayable on a team that desperately needed young talent. By his third season, Seikku was traded away, bouncing from Brooklyn to the Lakers before falling out of the league completely at 21. For more NBA shorts, subscribe.

Back in 2019, the Detroit Pistons drafted Sekou Doumbouya with the 15th pick. At just 18, he was the youngest player in the draft and hyped as their future star. But instead of breaking out, he struggled with consistency, defense, and NBA speed β while guys like Jordan Poole and Brandon Clarke, drafted after him, became real contributors. By 21, Sekou was already out of the league.

He kinda reminds me of Giannis in a way except he was a bust
Do you think the pistons should have given him more than 2 years to prove himself? Comment Below π
This guy is the random Nba Player who you forget, until someone mentions him
they beeping is like crazy o couldnβt even concentrate on your video
BasketballGM had this guy going crazy in my sim leagues.
Him and Killian Hayes were ποΈ
Because the league drafts players off of potential β¦. And the league has poor development for players. Players should enter the draft at age 20. Not 18-19 as youβll be outta the league in 3-5 years
I thought he was next up when the pistons drafted him
Thought he'd be good be. He forreal was wildly inconsistent and didn't really try on defense.
Sekou Doumbouya, influenced by YouTubers, came to resent playing the "Corner Game". Local YouTubers coordinated a joint campaign claiming Sekou Doumbouya was being misused by Coach Dwane Casey.
Casey was accused, by this ALLIANCE of YouTubers, of having Sekou "sitting in the corner" when Sekou should be a "slasher" instead.
When Sekou was "SOUNDED OUT" in an interview, he expressed his dissatisfaction with "sitting in the corner", which was NEVER a BBall phrase. Sekou had started to believe in his own press, and fell out with Casey.
Dwane Casey is so respected that the prevailing belief is that if a player can't get along with Casey, they're uncoachable. Sekou became uncoachable.
