Los Angeles Dodgers vs Arizona Diamondbacks – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | September 23, 2025 MLB Season
All right, John. Welcome to Phoenix and welcome to Tuesday Night Baseball on Sportsnet LA, brought to you by Arco. It’s the final week of the regular season and the Dodgers begin this road trip at Chase Field to take on the Diamondbacks with the magic number to clinch a 12th division title in 13 years at three. Every Dodger win, every Padre loss will drop that and when it hits zero, pop the champagne. Only the Brewers and the Phillies have been better in the two months since and they start the day one back of a playoff spot with one week left. Otani climbs in and off we go with a fast ball to the outside corner and strike one. Get home. One of the worst on the road. Otani muscles this ball to second and an easy one for Marte to get this game started. and foul ground at third. Bla1 Alexander’s over there. He’s got room. Two out. Muny. It’s a high fly ball to right field. Carol backpedals on it shy of the track. He’s got room on a scoreless top of the first inning for Brandon Thought. Here comes Show Otani trying to keep on rolling until mid June with the goal being that he’d be ascending at this point. That’s a broken bat. Pop flying to right field. Here comes Hernandez. He gets there for the first out of the game as that bat went flying up into the netting above the dugout. It’s up to you. And Dave said, “No, no, no, no. We’ve put together this plan. We’re not going to decide in the moment to change it. Five innings is what we’ve decided.” And so he ended it right there even though it was 68 pitches. Marte’s out number two. But since September 6th, curve falls out of the sky to get him looking. And so the only man that has more extra base hits than Corbin Carroll this season is the ultimate wild card here over the last week. That’s a high drive to deep left field. Back goes McCarthy at the wall. It is gone. Tay Oscar Hernandez finds the seats and the Dodgers strike first. Number 25 of the year for Tea Oscar. One to nothing in the second. [Applause] He’s saying, “I finally made that two- strike pitch I was looking for. Didn’t get the call, but he comes back and makes another good one to strike out Edmond. His first strike out of the game. Average his last 11 games.” Flies the first one he sees to center field. No big deal for Alec Thomas. Dodgers get on the board though as Tasker Hernandez hits his fourth home run in his last 12 games. [Music] Got him. Blew a fast ball by him after falling behind. Three and one. Otani strikes out Moreno for the first out of the second. Under the payoff from Otani, Alexander chases a slider for strike three. Three in a row for Showhead. Once you get about 3/4 of the way through your swing and you got to be geared up for triple digits. Yes. So there’s 99 26 mph more two pitches later. Six up, six down for Shi Otani. Almost punctures the ceiling here. Got a pop fly left side for Alexander. Two up and two down in the third. Here’s his payoff. He gets bet swinging. He’s got his first clean inning of the day. [Music] fast spot to 100 to strike him out. Mcken’s all geared up to protect a way away and then you get that backto back curves to get him and backto-back Ks here in the third [Music] one. Two from Otani gets him swinging the fast ball makes it three Ks in a row and six through three wearing that splint. He’s still dayto day. So, if they can get him out there for a game before the end of the regular season, they would love to, but if not, they’re hoping to get him ready come October. Guys, talking about that before the game today, flexes this ball to second and caught by Marte back to first. No throw. Freeman in there safe. Here he comes with a 2-2 and this time he’s able to finish him. Third strikeout for F. The bottom of the fourth we go. His eighth pitch to Carol. A fast ball at 101 for strike three. Carol blinks through it. Two on Moreno. Martes at first representing the tying run. Not as much of a running threat as he once was. A swing and a miss from Moreno. And backto back Kes for Otani giving him eight for the game. Eight strikeouts in the process. Ground ball towards the middle. Bats is there, feeds it to Edmond. Four scoreless in the books for Shi Otani, who’s given up just one run in his last four games for a Dodger team that was kind of limping in the starting rotate, their starting rotation. There’s a one, two, three, fifth inning. That’s six in a row retired by five. The division on them. Fly ball left center field. PZ converging with Conorto. It’s Conorto to make the catch and Vargas the first out of the fifth. Dictate the opponent for the Dodgers next Tuesday. That’s a bouncer back to Otani. Throws it to the bag for one. Edmond to first. There’s two. A double play. Five more scoreless innings from Otani who’s got a three and0 to three and two. The payoff misses away. Ball four. Lead off walk and a 27 game on base streak. pokes one to right center field. That’s headed for the gap and it’s headed for the wall. Otani’s in. Freeman’s right behind him. Hernandez heads for third. It’s Teay Oscar three. Arizona nothing. And now it’s Conorto slicing to drive to left center field and McCarthy goes back on and puts away to end the six. bouncing ball along first. Otani gets there and tags McCarthy out and apologizes for tagging him. Back in the fourth to first, Freeman ricochets it to Edmond and they’ve got Purdomo caught between a rock and a hard place there. He had to pause to make sure Freeman didn’t catch it. late swing and a little pop into left for a base hit. Like Corbin Carol drop shot. I mean out in the sixth inning. Another two- two pitch from Otani. Line drive center field. Pah is there and six scoreless innings from Show Otani. 19 and 2/3 his last four starts in just one run. He goes six innings from the eighth. delivers a two- two to Rofet. Rofett crushes a ball to deep right field. He’s got his first home run as a Dodger. Benjamin Biceps flexes. Four to nothing Dodgers. One-1 pitch. Fly to center field. Back goes Pahz on the track. Turns and watches it hit off the wall. Vargas heads for the plate and will score. Diamondbacks on the board on a two-out double from McCann. And you can see why that may be aggressive as he is. You can see the power as well though. And this is a one-run game. [Applause] And then McCann do up. That’s 6, seven, and eight. Bouncing ball to second. Catel Marte. Two outs on three pitches to make it a nice tidy 15game stretch for that. ERA is going to be down around one and a half. That is a dunk shot attempt, but a diving try and a catch made by Tim Tower. Squares again takes ball four. A hit batter and a four pitch walk. Squares again bunts it in play with two strikes. Tying run to third, winning run to second. The 02 from Scott. Highf fly ball to deep left field. Back goes call. He’s got room, but the game is tied. [Applause] Line drive base hit left field. Here comes the throw to the plate. It’s not in time. The Diamondbacks keeping their hopes alive, scoring five unanswered to steal this one from the Dodgers, five to four. Wow.

They should just keep their start pitcher in until 8th.
Dave Roberts does it again!!
I dont get the Roberts Scott thing? Did Roberts solely drive the signing and now feels compelled to prove it out or something?

Thatโs why Shohei is the only reason I watch baseball.
Remember Kenley Jansen ๐ญ
Thatโs the second time that happened in a few days where Shohei has no runs and then leaves pitching and we lose.
4:44 seconds his hand
Rob did it again ๐
Roberts is sure betting for their opponents, how come he put Scott over and over again and most of the time he blew it he is insane.

I saw the dodgers walked off in the 9th, and i thought it was a joke. ๐
Blame Ohtani for not being able to use the Kagebunshin no Jutsu
BLUE ANGELS
Our bullpen will be our downfall in the post season ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธ
I know Ohtani mad about that.
Pretty obvious Vegas gave them a call when dodgers are leading ๐

When would Roberts face on the bullpen problems?
ๅคง่ฐท็ๅฟๆ ….
Scott = 10 blown saves.
MLB record = 14.
Scott missed a good amount of time too.
Phillies and Cubs have been doing everything they can to hand LA a bye or at least home field in the first round and as soon as I heard the announcers enthusing about the magic number, I knew they'd be dodging the division title to complete their dubious trifecta to end the season.
Why in the hell does Dave Roberts pull his starting pitchers after 5 or 6 innings no matter what, even if they are pitching a shoutout, they can't do any worse than the bullpen in the last 3 innings of a game, does he think his starters are whimps?

Scott and Treinen. You mean to say that the rest of the bullpen is worse than those two?
De ja view
Dodgers will not repeat with this bullpen smh
Roberts at it again. Guy keeps repeating the same mistake over and over.
Scott again itโs like he is trying to lose the game
